There are 3 owner-reported visibility & wipers complaints for the 2019 Honda HR-Vin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda HR-V. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, there was an abnormal gunshot sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that shards of glass fell onto the dashboard from the sunroof. The contact pulled over and upon inspection of the vehicle discovered a hole in the middle of the sunroof. The contact used tape to secure the sunroof on both sides and continued normal driving without further issues. The vehicle was eventually taken to a dealer where the contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty and the contact was given an estimate for the replacement of the sunroof glass. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The glass front windshield cracked on the inside of the vehicle from the rearview mirror down to within a couple of inches of the dashboard. I had the windshield replaced and the technician said it was very rare for this to happen, that it could possibly be a manufacturer defect. I just want this to be on record in case it happens to other owners of this vehicle.
The sun visor (Driver side) has become difficult to operate. Also, the sun visor does not close flush to the cabin roof. The sun visor is not operating as it should. I reached out to Honda but since there is no recall and this repair is outside of the warranty period, they will not make the repair at their cost. I do not want to purchase a new visor if Honda has not acknowledged the problem and made changes.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
