THE SLIDING POWER DOORS DO NOT STOP WHEN THEY HIT RESISTANCE. I WAS TRAPPED BETWEEN FRAME AND DOOR FOR A GOOD 5 MINUTES IN A LARGE PARKING LOT AND COULD NOT GET FREE UNTIL I FINALLY WRESTLED THE KEY REMOTE OUT OF A POCKET AND HIT DOOR OPEN, OTHERWISE, I WAS STUCK. I COULD NOT MOVE TO FREE MYSELF. I COULD NOT MOVE THE DOOR. THANK GOODNESS IT WASN'T MY CHILD THAT GOT STUCK (I HAD MY 1 YEAR OLD WITH ME, AND IT WAS PRETTY SCARY FOR HER TO SEE ME TRAPPED). THIS IS A REACCURING PROBLEM. THE DEALER SAYS IT'S JUST THE WAY THE SYSTEM WORKS, IT'S NOT DEFECTIVE. EVIDENTLY, THE DOOR WON'T REVERSE FOR AN OBSTRUCTION UNTIL IT IS 2" FROM CLOSING (MUCH SMALLER THAN A CHILD'S HEAD OR TORSO). THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I HAD A BRUISED SIDE. MY BROTHER-IN-LAW (SAME MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR) - WHO'S A BIG GUY - GOT HIS ARM TRAPPED AND BRUISED. WE TOLD YET ANOTHER BROTHER-IN-LAW INTERESTED IN SAME MAKE, MODEL, YEAR - NOT TO GET THE POWER DOOR OPTION ... "IT'S TOO DANGEROUS FOR THE KIDS"... AND HE DIDN'T!! THIS IS ALL VERY ALARMING FOR ADULTS. I WORRY ABOUT THE FIRST CHILD WHO WILL BE SERIOUSLY INJURED. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. THANK YOU.*AK
THE 1999-2001 HONDA ODYSSEY ROOF TOP CARRIER CROSSBARS MAY BE UNSAFE. THE ROOF RACK CROSSBARS SOLD BY HONDA FOR THIS VEHICLE ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR USE WITH CARGO BOXES. THIS IS WHAT MANY PEOPLE ATTACH TO THEM. THERE IS NO WARNING ON THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS OR OWNERS MANUAL WARNING AGAINST USE FOR THIS PURPOSE. HONDA ADMITTED THE CROSSBARS MIGHT NOT WITHSTAND LIFT FORCES FROM THE BOX AND THE CROSSBARS COULD SEPARATE FROM THE SIDE RAILS AND DAMAGE THE VEHICLE OR VEHICLES FOLLOWING IT. HONDA SAID THEY WOULD OFFER NO REMEDY, WARNING OR SOLUTIONS. SOME OF THE MAJOR CARGO BOX MANUFACTURERS ARE AWARE OF THE CROSSBARS SHORTCOMINGS AND WILL NOT WARRANT THEIR BOXES OR ACCEPT LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES CAUSED BY THE SEPARATION OF THE CROSSBARS, HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT ALWAYS DIVULGED BY THE SALEPERSONS AND WOULD MOST LIKELY NOT BE KNOWN IF BUYING A USED BOX. PLEASE MAKE HONDA SEND A WARING TO ALL PURCHASERS OF THE CROSSBARS AND INCLUDE THE WARNING IN THEIR OWNERS MANUALS, ADVERTISING LITEREATURE AND INSTALLATION/USE INSTRUCTIONS. THANK YOU. *AK

I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE ELECTRICAL DOORS ON THE HONDA ODYSSEY VAN. SEVERAL TIMES MY DAUGHTER W. *AK
CONUSMER WAS REAREND BY A VEHICLE THAT WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SEATBACKS RECLINED BACKWARDS, CAUSING BACK PAIN AND WHIPLASH. VEHICLE IS STILL BEING FIX , CAUSE UNKNOWN.*AK
A THUMPING SOUND EMINATES FROM INSIDE THE FUEL TANK WHEN IT IS FULL TO HALF FULL. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED WAS NOTIFIED. I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. MANY OTHER ODYSSEY OWNERS HAVE EXPRESSED CONCERNS ABOUT THIS. HONDA CLAIMS THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE AS THIS IS PART OF THE DESIGN. A VEHICLE IN THIS PRICE RANGE SHOULD NOT HAVE ANNOYANCES OF THIS SORT.
FUEL TANK IS KNOCKING AROUND AND CONSUMER CAN HEAR FUEL SPLASHING INSIDE TANK WHILE DRIVING. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT WAS NORMAL, AND ALL ODYSSEYS DO THAT. *AK THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THE VEHICLE HAD DEFECT AND WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. *YH
THE EX MODEL HAS AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC DOORS THAT DO NOT STOP CLOSING TO PROTECT SMALL CHILDRENS BODIES, FINGERS, ETC. THE DOOR STOPS WHEN AN ADULTS STRENGTH CAN PUSH IT BACK. HAVEN'T WE LEARNED FROM AUTOMATIC GARAGE DOOR OPENERS. PLEASE WORK HARD TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN OR HANDICAPPED. THIS MINIVAN VEHICLE IS MEANT FOR CHILDREN.*AK
SLIDING DOOR FAILS TO CLOSE PROPERLY IF ANYTHING IS IN DOORWAY. DOOR WOULD CLOSE TO APPROXIMATELY 4 INCHES, IF ANYTHING WAS IN THE WAY, BEFORE IT OPENED BACK UP. ADULT ARM WAS CAUGHT, AND DOOR CONTINUED TO CLOSE UNTIL REQUIRED INCHES WERE MET. THEN, DOOR OPENED UP. MECHANIC CANNOT CORRECT PROBLEM.*AK
VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT WHETHER YOU ARE DRIVING IN THE LEFT OR THE RIGHT LANE.*AK
WHILE TRAVELING DOOR INDICATOR BELL WOULD RING STATING DOOR WAS NOT CLOSE, BUT CONSUMER HAD CLOSED DOOR. *AK
SLIDING REAR DOOR DOES NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY CAUSING DOOR TO POP OPEN. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE DOME LIGHTS DIMMING BRIEFLY. *MR THE PURGE CONTROL SOLENOID CYCLED OFF AND ON REPEATEDLY, THE A/C BLOWER MOTOR SPEED DECREASED AND VARIOUS DASH/DOME LIGHTS DIMMED FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS THEN REVERT BACK TO ITS HIGH SPEED SETTING AND ORIGINAL BRIGHTNESS. THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE THAT HAD COME FROM THE TRANSMISSION WHICH WAS REPAIRED. *SCC *JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT, AND TRACTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLIP AND PULL. VEHICLE IS ON ITS THIRD TRANSMISSION. *AK
SEAT BELT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO USE, PER CONSUMER. IF BELT IS NOT PULLED ALL THE WAY OUT, IT WILL LOCK UP EVEN WHEN NOT IN MOTION.*AK BELT COULD LOCK AROUND SEAT PRIOR TO CONNECTING WITH THE BUCKLE REQUIRING SEAT DISASSEMBLY TO BE REMOVED. IN ADDITION, INDIVIDUALS WITH 30 INCHES OR LONGER BACKS RECEIVE INADEQUATE PROTECTION FROM HEAD REST AT TALLEST POSITION. *PH
THIRD BRAKE LIGHT FAILED DUE TO BULB BEING DEFORMED FROM HEAT BUILD-UP. *LA *SC *JB
CONSUMER NOTICED THAT TRANSMISSION WAS ACTING DIFFERENT WHEN STARTING. DEALERSHIP SAID THAT TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MANUFACTURER DOESN'T WANT TO HONOR WARRANTY BECAUSE IT WAS MADE OUTSIDE OF THE U.S. *LA *SC
AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS AND WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. THE LOCKS WILL WORK NORMALLY, AND SOMETIMES IT WON'T WORK AT ALL. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. HOWEVER, DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHEN TURNING RIGHT OR LEFT THE DRIVER'S SEAT SHOOK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM
