The outside mirrors had a recall for potential detachment. My driver's side mirror detaches sometimes even after the replacement. When I contacted Honda over this issue, they told me that they can't take my complaint and I should go back to the dealer which replaced it.
The contact owns a 2020 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds during rainy weather, he attempted to defrost the windows; however, the HVAC failed to operate as designed with warm air coming from the HVAC system. As a result, the windows failed to defrost as needed, making it difficult to see the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the blower motor had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 32,400.
I had a Recall on my 2020 Honda Odyssey Vin # [XXX] for NHTSA Recall # 23V-431. The recall was for rear camera failure. The Fix was to replace MOST cable harness. In Early October 2023 my rear view camera did fail and no longer conformed to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No 111, “Rear Visibility” I took my Honda Odyssey to Serra Brighton Honda for repair , Serra Brighton Honda replaced the cable and it did not fix the problem. I was told it was the camera which was not part of the recall and was charged $302.42 for replacement of the camera, Invoice # [XXX]. It only seems logical to me that if “Rear Visibility” is a Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard , the camera should have been included as part of the fix. It could have been possible that the cable shorted out and damaged the camera’s electronics. My Honda only has 21,500 miles and is always stored in a garage and has never been in an accident.
