TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 HONDA PASSPORT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5-10 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL AND THE ENGINE REVVED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO DRIVE FORWARD AND WOULD ONLY DRIVE IN REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND HER COUSIN, A MECHANIC, DIAGNOSED THE CAUSE OF FAILURE AS THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, BUT THE ONLY OPEN RECALL ON HER VEHICLE WAS FOR THE FRONTAL AIR BAGS. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 86,000. UPDATED 01-16-08. *KB AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION, IT WAS DETERMINED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. UPDATED *JB
TL*-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 HONDA PASSPORT. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE . THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED SEVERAL TIMES, FOLLOWED BY NO POWER RESPONSE. WHEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS ENGAGED THE VEHICLE STOPPED IMMEDIATELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE TO THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 70,000. UPDATED 6/1/10 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE STOP WAS TOO LATE WHICH RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT AND HER VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. I PURCHASED A 2001 HONDA PASSPORT VIN [XXX] AT CURRY HONDA CROMPOND ROAD YORKTOWN HEIGHTS NY 10598 DATE 03 JUNE 2002 WITH VEHICLE SERVICE CONTRACT NUMBER [XXX] ISSUING DEALER CURRY HONDA EFFECTIVE DATE 06-04-2002 EXPIRATION DATE 08-13-2008 OR EITHER EXPIRATION MILEAGE 100,000.00 ACTUAL MILEAGE OF MY VEHICLE IS 46,000.00. MY VEHICLE HAD A MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN LAST NOVEMBER 23 2005 AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO FIX IT. THEY CALL ME TO INFORM THAT THEY DENIED TO COVER OF THIS DAMAGE SAYING ABUSE AND NEGLIGENCE. I HAVE TAKEN TWICE TO CHECK MY VEHICLE TO THE HONDA DEALER EVEN THOUGH THEY CHARGED ME $500.00 EACH TIME FOR SERVICES THEY DID NOT FIX PROPERLY BECAUSE MY VEHICLE DID NOT PASS THE ANNUAL INSPECTION AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM OF LOSE OF POWER, I ALERT THEM IN ADVANCE OF THIS PROBLEM. I DID ALL PROPER MAINTENANCE ,I CHANGED OIL EVERY 3,000.00 MILES MOST OF TIME MY VEHICLE STAY PARKED AT HOME I USED COMMUTE BACK AND FORWARD TO WORK ( 10 MILES DAILY 5 DAYS A WEEK) AND IT HAD FEW MILES. 2001 HONDA PASSPORT EXL ISUZU MFG IN AUG 2000. PURCHASED USED IN NOV 2004, WAS LEASED TO 1 PERSON, THEN AT END OF LEASE AUCTIONED TO PLACE I BOUGHT FROM. FRONT BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS REPLACED 1 MONTH AFTER PURCHASE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF 1 MONTH AFTER PURCHASE. EXHAUST FLANGE REPLACED 1 MONTH AFTER PURCHASE. 3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE FUEL INDICATOR GOES WACKY, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF AND ON. 1 YEAR AFTER PURCHASE ENGINE DIES, INTERCOOLER WAS CULPRIT, ONLY 76,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. TRANSMISSION WAS FOUND TO HAVE A LEAK, THE RIGHT SERVO RUBBER SEAL WAS REPLACE. EXHUAST HAS LEAK AT OR UP TO Y PIPE AREA. SOMETHING UNDERNEATH IS CRACKED SEVERLY. I AM DEPRESSED, AS I PAID $19,000 AM STUCK PAYING $31,000 IN LONG RUN THROUGH FINANCIAL INSTITUTE, AND CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITH NEGATIVE EQUITY, AND BAD CREDIT HISTORY. DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO FIX PROBLEMS WHEN FIRST PURCHASED AND STILL REFUSES TO OFFER FINANCIAL RELIEF. WARRANTY CO. AND FINANCIAL INSTITUTE ARE JUST AS UNCARING. I WAS MADE TO BELIEVE IT WAS A STURDY, LONG LASTING VEHICLE, AND HAVE SINCE FOUND OUT OTHERWISE. OIL IS BIG PROBLEM, HAVE TO FEED IT HALF TO 3/4 QT. EVERY 2 DAYS. GAS CONSUMPTION IS POOR, CAN ONLY GO 110 MI. PER FILL UP. OIL, OIL FILTER AND AIR FILTER ARE CHANGED ON REGULAR BASIS. SHOCKS ARE THE PITS, TAKES BUMPS HARD, AND FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO BREAK IN THE REAR. ALSO KNOWN PROBLEM IS THE REAR CLUNK, THUMP ON STOP AND GO, IS CAUSED BY A ITEM UNDERNEATH THAT TURNS. COULD OF BEEN KILLED WHEN ENGINE DIED ON MAJOR HIGHWAY, BUT WAS ABLE TO ROLL OFF TO SHOULDER BEFORE CEASURE. I CONSIDER MAJOR DEPRESSION FROM THIS A INJURY. *NM
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL GAUGE. I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD BE BETTING IN LAS VEGAS SINCE I NEVER HAVE AN IDEA ABOUT HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE IN THE TANK. SINCE IT IS EXTREMELY ERRATIC - BOUNCING TO EMPTY TO FULL - EVEN AFTER I HAVE FILLED UP. I HAVEN'T TAKEN IT IN YET, AS I HAVING BEEN RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM, WHICH SEEMS TO BE QUITE COMMON IN THE HONDA PASSPORT AND ITS IDENTICAL TWIN THE ISUZU RODEO.*AK
THE CAR HAS A "HARD SHIFT" GOING UP FROM 1ST TO 2ND AND BACK DOWN PERIODICALLY. IT IS ACCOMPANIED BY A LOUD CLUNK, LOSS OF POWER, A JERKING OF THE CAR AND OCCASIONALLY A GROWLING SOUND IN THE FRONT END. DIAGNOSTICS ON THE COMPUTER IS NEGATIVE, ONLY ONCE HAS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON, BUT THE CAR HAS BEEN FOUND TO BE LOW ON TRANSMISSION FLUID THREE DIFFERENT TIMES IN 4 WEEKS WITH NO APPARENT LEAK. IT HAS DONE THIS ONLY ONCE FOR A MECHANIC AND THEY RECOMMENDED REMOVING AND REBUILDING THE TRANSMISSION. AMERICAN HONDA-CUSTOMER SERVICE STATED THAT I NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS. IT WAS THERE TODAY BUT THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG, EXCEPT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS LOW AGAIN. THIS CAR IS A 2001 AND HAS 40,800 MILES. WE HAVE ALSO HAD TO HAVE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACED AND THE SERPENTINE BELT REPLACED- BOTH VERY UNUSUAL FOR A CAR WITH SO FEW MILES.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS ISSUED, BUT NO ONE WAS CITED. *AK *SC
CONSUMER STATED THAT SHE WAS DRIVING AN UNSTABLE VEHICLE. WHEN CONSUMER DROVE ABOVE 60 MPH VEHICLE SHOOK, AND WAS HARD TO CONTROL. WHEN CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER/MECHANIC, SHE WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT IT MIGHT BE THE WAY SHE DROVE. SHE TOOK VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES. ONE MECHANIC TOLD CONSUMER THAT THERE WAS A FRONT END PROBLEM. ALSO, THERE WAS A FUEL LEAKAGE PROBLEM. CONSUMER HAD TO CONSTANTLY REFUEL VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING A SHORT DISTANCE.*AK
AFTER PLACING OUR 2001 HONDA PASSPORT IN "PARK" AND TURNING OFF IGNITION, AND REMOVING THE KEYS, AND EXITING THE VEHICLE, IT ROLLED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. LATER IT DID IT AGAIN FOR THE GOODYEAR OIL CHANGE TECHNICIAN.*AK
INTERMITTENT/ SUDDEN ACCELERATION WITH THIS VEHICLE ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. DEALER HAS INSPECTED VEHICLE ON SEVERAL TIMES AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *AK
THE TREAD ON THE LEFT REAR TIRE SUDDENLY SEPARATED FROM THE CORE AND DESTROYED THE REAR QUARTER SECTION OF OUR 2001 HONDA PASSPORT. THE TIRES WERE BRIDGESTONE DUELER 684'S AND WERE OEM ON THE PASSPORT. DAMAGE WAS IN EXCESS OF $ 3,000.*AK
ON JANUARY 10, 2003, I WAS PULLING INTO A FLEET ATM MACHINE PARKING SPACE. OUR TWO CHILDREN WERE IN THE VEHICLE ALSO. AS I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES TO PARK THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE PROCEDED TO ACCELERATE VERY HIGH AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SURGER FORWARD AND HIT THE POLE IN FRONT OF THE ATM. THIS CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMPER. HAD THAT POLE NOT BEEN THERE, I COULD HAVE CRASHED INTO THE BUILDING. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE HONDA DEALER IN SALEM, NH THE FOLLOWING DAY. HONDA STATES THAT AGAIN THERE WERE NO CODES STORED. HOWEVER, THE THROTTLE SENSOR WAS OFF BY 2 DEGREES, SO THIS WAS ADJUSTED.
PROBLEMS THAT CONTINUE TO EXIST ARE AS FOLLOWS: 1- MILES PER GALLON ARE FAR BELOW WHAT WAS INDICATED. IN SUCH A SPIRALING COST PER GALLON ENVIRONMENT, USAGE OF GAS IT 30% TO 50% GREATER THAN THE MANUFACTURER SAYS. I BELIEVE THIS IS DECEPTIVE 2- THE "ENGINE WARNING LIGHT" HAS GONE ON SEVERAL TIMES. THIS LAST TIME THE HONDA DEALER SAYS IT IS A SPECIAL "BACKORDERED" ITEM THAT MAY FIX BOTH THE MPG ISSUE AS WELL AS THE "WARNING" ISSUE. THE QUESTION THAT COULD NOT BE ANSWERED WAS, IT IS HARMFUL TO THE CAR OR A DANGER TO ME DRIVING THE CAR. 3- DURING A RECENT ICE STORM MY CAR BUMPED A TELEPHONE POLE AND IT SHATTERED THE BUMPER. THE SPEED COULD NOT HAVE EXCEEDED 2 TO 3 MPH. THE ENTIRE BUMBER HAS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE EXTENSIVENESS OF THE DAMAGE....COST ~$1000.00. 4- UPON EVALUATING THE ABOVE ISSUE THE REPAIR SPECIALIST (AN INDEPENDENT CAR REPAIR PERSON) ASKED IF I KNEW THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT A HONDA BUT AN ISUZU. I WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THIS DURING MY PURCHASE!!! AN ISSUE I CONSIDER TO BE DECEPTIVE AS THIS WILL CONSTITURE MY FOURTH OR FIFTH "HONDA". I WAS LED TO BELIEVE I WAS, AGAIN, PURCHASING A "HONDA". NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT. WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP ME WITH THE ABOVE ISSUES. MY WARNING LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS NOW SINCE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THE FRONT END FEELS UNSTABLE AT SPEEDS OVER 60 MPH, VEHICLE RIDES ROCKY AND PULLS TO THE LEFT. TIRES ARE WEARING UNEVENLY, AND HAVE BEEN REPLACED ONCE. VEHICLE HAD BEEN EXAMINED BY DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. *AK
ON DECEMBER 6, 2002, I HAD JUST EXITED ROUTE 495 AT EXIT 51 B ONTO ROUTE 125 NORTH IN HAVERHILL, MA. THE TRAFFIC WAS MOVING SLOWLY ON ROUTE 125. AS I WAS INCHING ALONG IN THE TRAFFIC, I HAD COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. AT WHICH POINT, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN AGAIN. THE VEHICLE CAME WITHIN INCHES OF CRASHING INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. LUCKILY, I THOUGHT FAST AND THREW THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL, IT CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE VERY HIGH FOR A FEW SECONDS, I WAITED UNTIL IT CAME DOWN BEFORE CONTINUING TO DRIVE. I DROVE HOME AND CALLED ROCKINGHAM HONDA SERVICE, SPOKE TO DAVID JOSEPHS TO NOTIFY HIM OF THE RE-OCCURRENCE OF THIS PROBLEM. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO ROCKINGHAM HONDA AGAIN BY AAA. ROCKINGHAM HONDA HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 2 DAYS, THERE WERE NO CODES STORED AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM.
THE CONSUMER WAS PULLING INSIDE OF THE GARAGE. AND WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACELLERATED. THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. NLM

WHILE CAR WAS IN PARK IT ACCELERATED UP TO ABOUT 20MPH, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AND INJURIES TO DRIVER. *AK

IN DECEMBER 2002, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SLIP INTO FIRST GEAR FROM A COMPLETE STOP AND WHEN I WOULD HAVE TO SLOW DOWN FOR TRAFFIC AND ACCELERATE. THE TRUCK WOULD JERK INTO FIRST GEAR. ALSO, WHEN I PUT THE TRUCK INTO REVERSE, ONCE I SHIFTED THE GEAR INTO DRIVE, IT WOULD TAKE 8-10 SECONDS BEFORE THE CAR WOULD SLIP INTO FIRST GEAR. JANUARY 4, 2003, I TOOK THE CAR TO A REPAIR SHOP AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING AND THEY SERVICED THE TRANSMISSION, TELLING ME THAT I WAS LOW ON FLUID, BUT THAT THERE WEREN'T ANY APPARENT OR VISIBLE PROBLEMS. I DID NOT HAVE ANY FURTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE TRUCK UNTIL FEBRUARY 5TH OR 6TH, WHEN THE JERKING BEGAN AGAIN. ON FEBRUARY 10, 2002, ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK I STARTED THE TRUCK AND IT TOOK ABOUT 20 SECONDS FOR THE CAR TO SLIP INTO FIRST GEAR. THEN AS I WAS GOING 55-60 MILES AN HOUR UP AN INCLINE ON A MAJOR EXPRESSWAY, THE TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND BEGAN TO MAKE A "MOANING" NOISE AND THE CHECK TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT HAD EVER COME ON. I HAD TO QUICKLY PULL OVER ONTO THE SHOULDER TO AVOID BEING HIT BY A SEMI TRUCK THAT WAS BEHIND ME. I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES AND STARTED IT AGAIN AN THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT WAS OFF, BUT I COULD NOT ACCELRATE OVER 20 MILES AN HOUR. I SLOWLY DROVE TO THE NEAREST EXIT. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE CAR TO A TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT I WAS 3 QUARTS LOW ON TRANSMISSION FLUID, AND THAT THE CAUSE WAS THAT THE ACCUMALATOR IN THE TRANSMISSION WAS LEAKING. THIS CAR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A DEAD STOP, THE TRANSMISSION FAILS TO SLIP INTO FIRST GEAR SOMETIMES. THE CAR WILL JERK A LITTLE AS THE TRANSMISSION ATTEMPTS TO GO INTO FIRST GEAR, AND THE "CHECK TRANSMISSION" LIGHT AND "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT WILL COME ON. AT THIS MOMENT, THE TRANSMISSION IS IN A FAILED STATE, AND YOU HAVE TO STOP THE CAR COMPLETELY, WAIT A WHILE FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO RECOVER (ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS) BEFORE YOU CAN TRY TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. THIS POSES A SERIOUS DANGER, ESPECIALLY WHEN ENTERING INTERSECTIONS. I'VE HAD A SITUATION WHERE I WAS TRYING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AND MERGE ONTO A BUSY STREET, ONLY TO HAVE THE SUV JERK ME FORWARD A FEW FEET, AND HAVE THE TRANSMISSION FAIL. I HAD TO COME TO A FULL STOP, LET THE CAR RECOVER BEFORE ACCELERATING AWAY. LUCKILY, THERE WASN'T A CAR APPROACHING, OR ELSE, I WOULD'VE BEEN LEFT HELPLESS (UNABLE TO ACCELERATE), AND WOULD'VE GOTTEN HIT. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED A FEW TIMES NOW, AND LUCKILY FOR ME, IT HASN'T RESULTED IN ANY ACCIDENTS AS OF YET. I REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO UNLESS THEY CAN REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM WHILE THEY HAVE THE SUV.*AK
I EXPERIENCED 2 CIRCUMSTANCES ON THIS DAY IN WHICH THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. OUR TWO CHILDREN, THEN AGES 4 AND 3, WERE ALSO IN THE VEHICLE THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS WHEN I WAS BACKING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT MY DAUGHTERS DANCE STUDIO, THE DANCE WORKS ON ROUTE 125 IN BRADFORD, MASSACHUSETTS, MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN AND IT CRASHED INTO THE BUILDING BEHIND THE VEHICLE. NO DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE VEHICLE AT THIS POINT. ON THE SAME DAY, THIS OCCURRED AGAIN AS I WAS COMING OFF OF ROUTE 93 AT EXIT 3 IN SALEM, NH. AGAIN, IN THE VEHICLE WERE MYSELF AND OUR TWO CHILDREN. AT THIS TIME, I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED AT THE END OF THE RAMP, MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE, AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AGAIN AND CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. BOTH VEHICLES SUSTAINED DAMAGE DUE TO THIS INCIDENT. I SUBSEQUENTLY HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BY AAA TO ROCKINGHAM HONDA IN SALEM, NH. THE REPORT FROM ROCKINGHAM HONDA STATED THE VEHICLE HAD 5 ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR CODES STORED. THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED AND ADJUSTED. THE POTENTIOMETER CIRCUIT BOARD OF WAS CONTAMINATED WITH GREASE, WHICH THE REPORT STATED WAS THE PROBABLE CAUSE OF THE VEHICLE ACCELERATING. THESE INCIDENCES PLACED ME, MY CHILDREN AND THOSE IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH THE VEHICLE IN GREAT DANGER.
THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR HAD SUDDENLY RUNAWAY, AND WHILE THE CONSUMERS FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. THESE PROBLEMS HAD OCCURRED ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE CONSUMER COULD NOT DUPLICATE BUT THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED/ADJUSTED. THE DEALER FOUND THE POTENTIOMETER CIRCUIT BOARD CONTAMINATED WITH GREASE WHICH WAS ALSO REPORTED AS THE CAUSE OF THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION. MR SCC *JB
CONSUMER STATES THE VEHICLE DRIFTS TO THE RIGHT, VEHICLE HAS HAD 2 SEPARATE WHEEL ALIGNMENTS PERFORMED AND THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN OFF PAVEMENT/ROAD AND HAS BEEN USED ONLY UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, CONSUMER STATES THE VEHICLE IS STILL EXPERIENCING A NOTICABLE DRIFT TO THE RIGHT AND WILL HAVE TO RETURN TO THE DEALER FOR THE THIRD TIME.*JB
WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON DUE TO FUEL LEAKAGE.CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE INTO DEALER, AND DEALER REPLACED TANK. BUT SOON AFTER THERE WAS FUEL LEAKAGE AGAIN, AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN.*AK CONSUMER ALSO STATED THAT SEAT BLET IS MALFUNCTIONING.*SLC
ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED IN A PANIC STOP THEY FAIL TO RESPOND, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
PRIOR TO 1ST INCIDENT, NOTICED SPONGY NON-RESPONSIVE BRAKES AT ALL SPEEDS. AS THE PROBLEM PROGRESSED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD GO DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND BRAKE DISTANCE INCREASED. ON 3 OCCURRENCES, I EXPERIENCED NEAR COLLISIONS. I FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM ON JUNE 29TH, 2001. SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED WITHOUT NOTICE AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AT APPROX 8 MILES/HR. FIRST, I HEARD A SOUND AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO APPROACH THE SIGNAL. THEN, THE ABS WENT OFF FOR APPROX. 5 TO 10 SECONDS AND DURING THAT TIME, I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP. I PROCEEDED TO TURN RIGHT AT THE RED SIGNAL WITH NO OTHER OPTION AVAILABLE TO ME AT THE TIME. FROM THERE, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SUBURBAN HONDA WHERE I ORIGINALLY BOUGHT AND SERVICED MY HONDA PASSPORT. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ABS INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON THE NIGHT BEFORE THE 2ND INCIDENT.*AK

THERE IS A SEQUENCE OF ILLUMINATION OF THE ABS,GEAR SHIFTER ,AND ENGINE WARNING LIGHT. WHICH INDICATES A PROBLEM. CAUSE UNKNOWN.

CONSUMER NEEDED TO REFILL THE FUEL TANK EVERY 60 MILES. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, AND THEY REPLACED THE FUEL SYSTEM PUMP WHICH WAS DEFECTIVE. AFTERWARDS, GAS FUMES WERE LEAKING. *AK
