WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION AND RUNNING OVER SLIGHTLY BUMPY SURFACE I WILL HEAR STATIC IN THE SPEAKERS AFTER HITTING A FEW MORE BUMPS THE AUDIO WILL SHUT OFF. THEN THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN WITH EITHER SAY 'FM RADIO UNAVAILABLE' OR 'NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS LOST' FOLLOWING THIS THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN WILL EITHER REBOOT OR STAY OFF UNTIL THE CAR IS RESTARTED. IN SOME CASES WHEN THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN WENT OFF THE DRIVER SCREEN THAT DISPLAYS SPEED, RPM AND OTHER SAFETY WARNING MESSAGE SHUTS OFF AND REBOOTS WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION WHICH IS VERY DISTRACTING AND UNSAFE. I HAVE HAD MY 2019 PASSPORT AT THE DEALER FOUR TIMES WHERE THEY HAVE CHECKED CONNECTIONS, REPLACED WIRING HARNESS AND EVEN REPLACED THE DRIVER SCREEN MODULE. WEEKS AFTER THIS LAST FIX THE SAME ISSUES HAPPENED AGAIN AND NOW BOTH SCREENS ARE BLANK AND WILL NOT COME BACK ON AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR. IT IS HEADING TO THE DEALER FOR YET ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC. NOTE DURING MOST OF THESE ISSUES I WAS USING CAR PLAY BUT HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED IT JUST USING FM RADIO. THE PROBLEMS USUALLY DON'T SURFACE TILL AFTER DRIVING ON A BUMPY ROAD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 HONDA PASSPORT. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. ROYAL HONDA (2633 N. HULLEN ST, METAIRIE, LA) WAS CONTACTED IN REFERENCE TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,700.
AFTER CAR SITS OVERNIGHT, BREAK PEDAL IS ROCK HARD AND CAN'T BE DEPRESSED THUS NOT ALLOWING THE CAR TO START USING PUSH START. ALL ELECTRICAL WORKS FINE BUT MSG ON DASH SAYS "TO START ENGINE PRESS BRAKE" THE PEDAL WON'T BUDGE AND THE CAR WON'T START. HAVE TO USE TWO FEET AT TIMES TO DEPRESS BREAK PEDAL TO ALLOW PUSH START BUTTON TO ENGAGE. EVERY MORNING FOR LAST SIX DAYS THIS HAPPENS. HAVE ENCOUNTERED PROBLEM EVEN AFTER CAR IS WARMED UP. FIRST DEALER SAID NORMAL BUT NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO USE TWO FEET TO PRESS THE BREAK PEDAL TO START THE CAR. CURRENTLY AT SECOND DEALER TO INVESTIGATE AS SERVICE WRITER EXPERIENCED WHAT I DESCRIBED AND SAID THAT BRAKE PEDAL WAS EXCESSIVELY HARD. VEHICLE IS ON FLAT GROUND AND BREAK PEDAL IS NOT BEING PUMPED. HAPPENS UPON JUST GETTING INTO CAR, PLACING FOOT ON BREAK TO START CAR AND WON'T START.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 HONDA PASSPORT. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE BLUETOOTH SEIZED AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING. ALSO, THE CLOCK AND RADIO DID NOT AUTOMATICALLY SET TO THE CONTACT'S CURRENT LOCATION. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE SYSTEM RESTARTED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DCH KAY HONDA (732-982-2732, LOCATED AT 200 NJ-36, EATONTOWN, NJ 07724), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THERE WAS A COMPUTER UPDATE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PERFORMED. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 09932490 AND WAS REFERRED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER; HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO UPDATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000.
48 HOURS AFTER I PURCHASED MY 2019 HONDA PILOT THE TRANSMISSION BLEW. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY TO A VACATION WITH MY CAR PACKED FOR THE WEEK AND I HEARD A BANG AS IF I HIT SOMETHING AND THEN IT SOUNDED AS IF SOMETHING WAS DRAGGING ON THE BOTTOM BUT NOTHING WAS THERE. I WAS EXTREMELY SCARED BECAUSE I WAS STUCK ALONE ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION BLEW ON MY BRAND NEW CAR WITH LESS THAT 100 MILES. MY VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED AWAY AND THEY HAD TO PLACE A BRAND NEW ENGINE. I WAS OFFERED NO COMPENSATION AND THEY REFUSED TO GIVE ME A NEW VEHICLE. *TR
ALL FOUR EMERGENCY GRAB HANDLES LOOSE. TOOK CAR TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM TIGHTENED AND WAS INSTEAD SHOWN THAT OTHER PASSPORTS ALL SHARE THE SAME PROBLEM. WAS TOLD THAT THE LOOSE GRAB HANDLES ARE A CHARACTERISTIC BY AN AMERICAN HONDA CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVE AND SO UNABLE TO BE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. NUMEROUS OTHER FIT/FINISH ISSUES HAVE BEEN DOCUMENTED WITH THE DEALERSHIP; LOOSE LEATHER WRAPPING ON STEERING WHEEL, LOOSE A PILLAR TRIM, RATTLING FROM INSIDE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, LOOSE ROOF RAIL TRIM(BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT), FRONT HEADLIGHT BLACK PLASTIC INSERT IS LOOSE ON BOTH SIDES. ALL OF THESE FIT/FINISH ISSUES ARE SHARED AMONGST MANY PASSPORTS AS SHOWN TO ME ON THE DEALERSHIP LOT AND DUE TO THIS HONDA WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUES.
THE VEHICLE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM LOCKS UP SPORADICALLY WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. AS A RESULT, THE BACKUP CAMERA IS INOPERABLE UNTIL A FUSE IS REMOVED FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THIS FIRST HAPPENED SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND HAS HAPPENED OVER FIVE TIMES SINCE. THIS HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED BY THE LOCAL DEALER OR HONDA CORPORATION DESPITE MULTIPLE VISITS TO THE DEALER TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM.
VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 1000 MILES. ENGINE STALLED DURING MOTION APPROX 70 MPH. FORCED TO PULL OVER AND RESTART ENGINE BUT WAS UNABLE TO PUT INTO DRIVE BUT AFTER A MINUTE WAS SUCCESSFUL IN STARTING. ENGINE STALLED TWO MORE TIMES AFTER AND EACH TIME MORE ERRORS WERE REPORTED ON THE VEHICLE DRIVER DISPLAY. ERRORS INVOLVED EMISSIONS, TRANSMISSION, ENGINE, BLIND SPOT MONITORING, AND BATTERY. ISSUE WAS RECTIFIED BY HONDA DEALERSHIP BUT UNKNOWN WHETHER OR NOT PERMANENT DAMAGE OCCURRED. THE DEALERSHIP FIX WAS TO "DRAIN ATF FLUID AND BROUGHT TO PROPER LEVEL". THEIR DIAGNOSES WAS THAT "ATF IS OVERFILLED." VEHICLE HAS MULTIPLE FIT/FINISH/BUILD QUALITY ISSUES LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS AT FAULT FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THAT OTHER ISSUES MAY BE PRESENT BUT UNKNOWN. ONE NOTABLE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE BUILD QUALITY IS THAT ALL FOUR EMERGENCY HANDLE BARS ARE LOOSE.
THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM FAILS WHILE USING AIRPLAY, CAUSING NAVIGATION, AUDIO, BLUETOOTH FAILURE AND THE REAR CAMERA GOES OUT AS WELL. WHEN TRYING TO REBOOT BY TURNING OFF THE CAR, THE ENGINE STAYS OFF BUT THE INFO SYSTEM RUNS DARKLY IN THE BACKGROUND. BATTERY DIED OVERNIGHT. BATTERY RECONNECT SEEMED TO WORK BUT BEING THAT THIS HAPPENED TWICE AND I GOT LOST ONCE AS A RESULT, I AVOID PLUGGING IN MY PHONE. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS, IT'S ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND NO ONE IS STEPPING UP. WHAT ABOUT THE LEMON LAW? WHERE'S OUR PROTECTION?
VEHICLE RETURNED TODAY FOR THE THIRD TIME. SAME ISSUES: WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK, 10 WARNINGS. LET VEHICLE RUN ABOUT 15 MINUTES, TURN OFF, GO INSIDE FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES, RESTART VEHICLE, 7 WARNINGS AND NOW CAN GET INTO DRIVE. ONE ADDED ISSUE: AT THE DEALERSHIP WHEN CLOSING THE DOOR THERE IS SEVERAL BEEPS INDICATION THE KEY IS STILL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE KEYFOB IS NOT IN THE VEHICLE OR ANYWHERE NEAR!! VEHICLE STATIONARY IN GARAGE AT HOME.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK, IT WAS STATIONARY. FIRST TIME 3/27/19 PICKING UP NEW AT DEALERSHIP. SECOND TIME 4/10/19, PARKED IN MY GARAGE. BOTH TIMES NUMEROUS WARNING CODES DISPLAYED. IN MY GARAGE 10 WARNING CODES DISPLAYED, RAN MOTOR FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND TURNED OFF. RESTARTED LATER AND 7 WARNING CODES DISPLAYED AND VEHICLE WOULD GO INTO DRIVE. DROVE TO DEALERSHIP, MADE APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE 4/11/19. DEALERSHIP FOUND MULTIPLE BATTERY LOW CODES STORED FROM WHEN BATTERY DIED ON LOT. TECHNICIAN NOTICED A HAM RADIO ANTENNA MOUNT ON THE CROSS BAR AND REPORTED THE UNKNOWN ACCESSORY ATTACHED TO THE CROSS BAR COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH VEHICLE CODES BEING SET. AS OF THIS DATE ALL THE PARTS TO INSTALL A TRANSCEIVER HAVE NOT ARRIVED. THE UNKNOWN ACCESSORY IS JUST A MOUNT AND AT THE DEALERSHIP INSPECTION IT HAS A GROUND WIRE, 14 GAUGE THHN, CONNECTED TO A BRACKET. WHEN THE ANTENNA IS INSTALLED IT MUST BE GROUNDED TO FRAME. I'M INCLUDING JPEGS OF ANTENNA MOUNT. ALSO I HAVE SUPPORTING EMAILS DETAILING WHEN THE PARTS WILL ARRIVE TO MY PO BOX AND OR STREET ADDRESS. A TRANSCEIVER HAS NOT BEEN INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE! THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO THE BATTERY/VEHICLE!
LOOSE PLASTIC TRIM ABOVE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT. IT MOVES ABOUT 1/4 INCH. THIS WILL FLEX IN THE TURBULENCE AND BREAK IN TIME. IT COULD THEN FALL OFF THE VEHICLE AND STRIKE A PEDESTRIAN OR ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE PASSPORT WAS SOLD NEW IN THIS CONDITION.

This has been happening from the beginning of ownership. There was a recent recall but it DID NOT fix the problem. I come to a stop, and then start to go and my car stalls out for a second and then restart. Every time I took it in to the service center, they said they can't recreate it and there's nothing wrong. As it stalls, the "collision mitigation system" warning light comes on. I have almost been rear-ended many times and it's really scary. You can see all the complaints online for this same problem but Honda is not acknowledging the problem. Someone is going to get seriously hurt. The contact stated that Honda told them to get a video of the failure happening but the failure occurs unexpectantly and while driving.
