My car has a surge and hiccup. Upon the test drive the mechanic said it feels like it’s misfiring. Several mechanics have said this could be due to the fuel pump. The fuel pump is on a safety recall, however Honda has been refusing to fix it for about a year now. Due to the hesitation, when driving my car could stall any moment, which will increase the risk of a crash or injury.

My 2019 Honda Pilot Touring was included in the Stop Sale/Safety Recall: 2018-2023 Multi-Model MOST Communication Error. In May 2024, Schomp Honda dealership attempted to fix the recall. In September 2024 my Honda Pilot began experiencing audio and display issues. The display would cut out while driving and I would hear static through the speakers. On September 24, 2024 I took a short drive and the backup camera worked when I reversed out of my garage, but 12 mins later when trying to park, my backup camera video would not display. It stays on a black screen with "Camera System Failure" when in reverse, I tried parking the vehicle, turning the engine off and back on. While I waited for my service appointment at the Schomp Honda Dealership (the same dealership who performed the attempted recall fix) on Oct 2, 2024 the video from the backup camera would intermittently display (approximately 10% of the time I would see video when in reverse). The other 90% of the time, the display shows a black, sometimes flickering green image. I believe the Stop Sale/Safety Recall: 2018-2023 Multi-Model MOST Communication Error was not fixed by the service technicians at Schomp Honda Dealership for my 2019 Honda Pilot Touring. I am experiencing the exact issues with 23-047, Safety Recall: 2019-23 Passport/Pilot Install FAKRA Service Cables at MOST Bus Network was supposed to fix. An improperly functioning rearview camera impairs my rearward visibility, potentially increasing the risk of a back-up collision or injury. I cannot see children or people that are shorter than my rear window.
The air conditioner system has stopped blowing cold a/c air. Honda service says its an internal failure of the compressor and the entire system needs to be replaced at the cost of $5,500. Without working a/c, the front windshield defogger does not work. This is an issue in the humid southeast. Visibility issues persist every night when attempting to drive. Honda rejected a goodwill claim for repair stating that my car at 44,000 miles is outside their 36,000 mile warranty for A/C and that we have not been with one dealership for enough service history. The car has been exclusively serviced at honda dealerships, but we are a military family, thus unable to stay in one location for service due to military orders. Without a front windshield defog system, the car is unsafe to drive due to poor visibility.
My car has shifted from both park to neutral and drive to neutral on its own three times in the last six weeks. This has occurred when parked and when at a red light. My gear shifters are electric push buttons. This has previously occurred, been reported to NHTSA, and been checked by the dealership. I was told by the dealership that it was a battery issue and paid to replace my three and a half year old battery that tested in good condition. My new battery is about a year old and I am now having the same, very serious issues. This specific model has been recalled multiple times for continuous electrical issues. I called the dealership after the first new incident and was told if they cannot repeat it, they cannot fix it. It is not occurring everyday or seemingly with any pattern so I cannot replicate it for the dealership. In the most recent incident that occurred at the red light, my car stalled and would not shift out of neutral. I had to turn off the car and restart it twice before I could shift into drive and avoid being hit. This also occurred in previous incidences that took place at red lights.

The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
My 2019 Honda Pilot backup camera is not functioning properly. It has a green and sometimes purple screen and I cannot see objects when backing up. This creates a very dangerous situation. I brought this vehicle to Lia Honda in Enfield, CT for another recall. I informed them of the problem with the backup camera and was told it isn't part of the recall. I would have to bring the car back at another time for evaluation and would be charged their hourly fee. I was a loyal Honda employee in Windsor Locks, CT for almost 25 years. I retired in 2009. I know my vehicle should be considered in the recall and I would like it taken care of before an accident happens.

3 episodes of unexpected and sudden braking for no reason. Twice on Sept 13 when ACC was in use and set at 70 mph the car hard-braked and dropped to 40-42mph rapidly, then it stopped braking and I was able to use the accelerator again- the braking lasted perhaps 10-15 seconds. The third episode was on Oct. 13 and the ACC was not on. I was driving manually at 55 mph and again the car suddenly braked and dropped to the same 40-42 range- maybe 5-10 seconds before the accelerator started to work again. There was no reason for the barking, no warning notices on the dashboard. Thank goodness there was no-one close behind me on any of these occasions, because the drop in speed was fast and hard.

My whole dashboard is lit up high beams lane keeping assistance break system go’s off , seatbelt warning, my high beams this puts my safety at risk as my passengers. I have had this diagnosed by my mechanic. It came up on the computer that it is the front camera that is making this all happen. I told the Honda dealership they say there’s no recall? They said I would have to get it diagnosed for $260. I’ve already had that done. at the time I took it in for a recall on the fuel pump modulator also the back up camera cables, which they fixed.
I am concerned about the 2019 Honda Pilot fuel pump recall. My vehicle is dispaying symptoms described in the recall letter. We called a national number inquiring about parts availability. We were told the dealership just needs to request the part. We've gone to 2 Honda dealerships that required $180 to diagnose the recall. The letter from Honda says the recall will be completed for free. There was no mention of the $180 fee to diagnose the recall. My vehicle hesitation has become worse in recent months and feels unsafe to drive. Honda is raking in money from recalls. I finally paid the $180....I will be surprised if they admit that my car issues have anything to do with the recall. This whole process seems unethical.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the vehicle had previously been repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); but the failure occurred after the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle had not yet been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.
Screen on backup camera is not clear. It now has purple and green coloring and is impeding the picture on the screen. The dealership thinks it is due to the wiring with the backup camera. When backing up I cannot clearly see if any objects are behind me. This is happening each time I reverse. There were no warning sign that I noticed. I did, however, have problems with the current recall with wiring and the audio almost immediately after buying the new car. Took it into the delearship on many occasions to have fixed, prior to recall. I’ve ready many similar issues happening after the recall is fixed.
Honda is to replace the fuel pump with a new one due to a recall. I have received my notice to go get one more than 6 weeks ago and they never have any in stock and will not provide me any info on when they will be available. Just that they get them randomly and that there is nothing they can do for me and they refuse to contact me when they got one and told me its like a lottery, if you can and we have one then you are lucky and we will replace.
Back up camera just suddenly started showing a wide range of colors. It looks almost like a thermal camera. I am unable to see behind me when I back up. There was no warning of this and it was not a slowly changing issue, the camera worked one day and then the next time this happened. There are many complaints about this online from other owners. The new camera prices are outrageous.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that after shifting to reverse, the back over prevention camera screen displayed multi-colored pixels, but no image of the rear of the vehicle was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the rear camera display unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V431000 (BACK OVER PREVENTION). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 65,000.
rearview camera image is blurry and rainbow colored (mainly purple and green). This is unsafe because I cannot see clearly out of my camera. Yes. We have had it in the shop for oil changes, tire rotation etc, where they could see problems with the camera image as well. We did not pursue them to fix at this time, because noticed there was a recall out for the rear camera in 2019 Pilots. Wondering why our 2019 Pilot does not show up for a camera recall? No. Also I see many other people have written in about this same problem with the same year and model Honda Pilot. Wondering why there isnt a recall on this?.... This is Disappointing.
When we are driving the vehicle brake light lights up on dash and car breaks for a second or two. There are no cars around and no railroad tracks. It just does it a random times. We aren’t speeding. Just driving down road.
The reverse camera suddenly started displaying distorted colors on approximately 1/3 of the screen. Turning the vehicle on and off has no impact. The previous recall for Fakra service cable replacement had no impact. The vehicle is garaged at home and has not been in high heat or direct sunlight for an excessive amount of time. From an internet search, this seems to be a common issue in 2019 Honda Pilots.
Overblown colorful backup camera image. Backup camera stopped working properly on 2019 Honda Pilot Elite SUV. Image has very bright red yellow and purple colors (like night vision) and the rear image is no longer legible. This is now a safety hazard as the driver is unable to view people, vehicles, and other obstructions while backing up the SUV. Need Honda to cover the repair and replacement of the backup camera under warranty. This appears to be a widespread issue for 2019 models that Honda dealers are not covering free of charge based on forum threads: [XXX] Please investigate immediately and have Honda cover this as a recall before this becomes a widespread issue affecting thousands of cars with non-functional backup cameras. Recall notice received May 2024 for a faulty fuel pump. As of Aug 26, dealer continues to claim they can not get the parts necessary to fix. They tell me the failure risk is low and I should not worry about it. Those words ring hollow when you are telling me their is a risk of a crash and injury. Why is this acceptable.

Stopped at a light and the auto start/stop system engaged and the cars engine turned off. Once the light turned green and took my foot off of the brake the engine did not automatically start. It would not start for about 30 seconds after trying to start it multiple time. The car was completely dead. Luckily the driver approaching me from behind was stopped without hitting me. This was very disturbing and dangerous.
Several times now when stopped at a red light, my vehicle's idle-stop features turns of the car and fails to restart when taking my foot off the brake. The screen behind the steering wheel says to take the vehicle out of neutral and restart but it is still in drive, the battery light also comes on. I have to put it in park (after putting on my hazards because there are cars behind me), turn off the vehicle and restart it. As far as I know there are no recalls for this as of yet.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. On several occasions my 2019 Honda Pilot Touring AWD with Idle start/stop will not restart when the idle start/stop kicks in. At a stop light several times when I come to a stop and the engine will turn off and not restart when the idle start/stop engages. Very dangerous and a clear safety issue that Honda needs to rectify asap. I have read many others with the same issue occurring. Honda, please step up and do the right thing!

2019 Honda Pilot began throwing error messages every time the car is started around 8/1/24. Error messages include ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control Problem), LKAS (Lane Keeping Assist Problem), Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem and Auto High-Beam Problem.
2019 Honda Pilot rear camera became inoperable and the word “camera failure” appears on a black screen in the front of the vehicle. This is a big safety issue as now what is behind the vehicle cannot be seen such as children or other adults. The dealership believes it is the actual camera that has failed and like I said previously the screen says “camera failure” on it where previously the rear camera image would be.
My vehicle several times has jumped forward when I remote start the vehicle. My car is always put into park gear and the emergency brake applied when parking the vehicle. At the same time the engine starts there is a lurch forward. Dealership does not "know of any issues" at this time.
Multiple warning lights and alarms sounding after starting the engine: Collision Mitigation System Problem. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem. Lane Keeping Assist Problem. Auto High Beam Braking System Error. When these warning lights are on, the vehicle continues to drive and brake as if these features were not installed. HOWEVER, since the "Brake System Error" light is now always illuminated, there is no longer an on dash warning to indicate an actual problem with the braking system. This began in August of 2024 as a single episode. It escalated to intermittent occurrences. It now happens every time. Malfunctioning braking and lane minding systems pose obvious danger to passengers. Problem was noted by Virginia State Vehicle Inspection station.
Auto Start/Stop. Car stopped and would not re-start while in an intersection. Restarted manually after a few minutes.
I was driving on the interstate when the entire dashboard of my 2019 Honda Pilot Elite with 76,014 miles on it lit up with every light / warning possible. The vehicle began to sputter and stall. I was forced to pull off to the shoulder of a busy highway. I was able to slow sputter to the next exit while traveling on the shoulder to get myself off the busy highway. After getting 3 diagnostic testings completed… it was determined that the problem was within the engine. Specifically the cam shaft and cam shaft sensor. The sensor was scratched / scrapped due to “play” in the cam shaft. It was explained to me that this has been a common occurrence with Honda Pilots, particularly 2019. It cost a total of $3,657.94 for the repairs with labor included. They provided me with the parts that were replaced because they felt that eventually a recall would be announced due to the problem being so wide spread.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle stalled and failed to restart. While at a stop light, the vehicle shut down. The check engine and emissions warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the family and other children had to exit the vehicle when the vehicle stalled at 10: 30 PM on the busy highway. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where an unknown diagnosis was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown. NHTSA Recall Number 23V-858: I have contacted my local Honda dealer multiple times to fix vehicle per the recall and have been told that Honda has provided no parts to fix the vehicle, even after my vehicle began experiencing problems. Recently, while operating my vehicle, it hesitated (i.e. almost stalled out) and then surged forward, which caused me to get into a collision and sustain injuries. After the collision, I contacted the Honda manufacturer using the customer service number on the recall notice and informed them of the collision. They denied that the issue my vehicle was experiencing was related to recall even though a Honda website states that the fuel pump issue will cause the same issues that I experienced. The Honda manufacturer customer service rep. stated that Honda has parts to fix the recall and the dealer should have asked to receive a part. When I contacted the dealer and informed them of the Honda manufacturer customer service rep. statements, the service manager and my local dealer became upset and frustrated as he informed me that they have been trying to get parts for months. The Honda manufacturer does not appear to care for the safety of the individuals using their products, nor the for the individuals that may also be injured based upon these unsafe vehicles still being on the road. In additions, the Honda manufacturer is providing intentionally misleading statements to consumers related to the recall. Their actions are unacceptable and they should be held accountable.
The Honda Pilot has a known history of "Judder and Surge" with the transmission. Which means to shake rapidly or spasmodically; vibrate conspicuously. Honda in America has a TSB/Technical Service Bulletin for this condition and that is to triple flush the transmission and reprogram the transmission computer. This is OBVIOUSLY a serious safety issue and the vehicle does not behave in a normal operating condition and surges and vibrates until service is performed. This is not normal wear and tear, this is bad engineering. Honda is aware of the TSB for Judder and Surge, but will only correctly repair certain trim levels and model years, although Honda knows that it exist in all configuration of the Pilot 2016 and forward. We have a 2019 Honda Pilot and Honda refuses to fix this vehicle as a TSB, but instead wishes to leave the vehicles on the road and have the unwitting customer pay for this serious repair condition. Honda should issue a comprehensive TSB for all Pilot years and makes for the Judder/Surge issue.
I brought my 2019 Honda Pilot to Son's Honda in McDonough, GA, for a service diagnosis as my vehicle is not mechanically running smoothly, sputtering. I called Honda dealership knowing there's a current recall for fuel pump motor it thought this might be the problem. Honda asked me if my vehicle engine light was on and after answering "no" was advised that it wasn't available for for replacement at this time due to having limited parts and servicing only vehicles with engine light on or difficulty starting. I advised my vehicle was demonstrating a lack of power, judger and was advised to bring it in for a diagnosis. Charge amount of $159.00. Upon completion of the diagnosis from Honda it was recommended to have the "Torque converter " replaced at a estimated price of $4,700.00. Upon speaking with the Honda service department manager he suggested I contacted Honda corporate as they have seen this similar issue before and they usually granted financial assistance up to 85% off the repair costs. I contacted Honda Pilot customer service and was assigned case # [XXX]. I was interviewed several times, advised that Honda will review my qualifications based on multiple factors like brand loyalty, years of ownership, service, other related associations with Honda. I advised that this is my second Honda Pilot, my first one I owned from 2007 to 2020 and my second Honda Pilot from 2020 to the present. It's important to know that besides the current recall for fuel pump motor, Honda has a current recall for 2016-2018 Honda vehicles for "Torque converter " issues or have extended warranty to 150,000 for some model vehicles up to 2019. This information comes from Brad Ortloff, manager of Auto campaigns and recalls. Subject line : Warranty Extension:2017- 2019 Multi Model 6AT Torque Converter, to all Honda Sales, Service & Parts manager's and personnel. This is clearly evidence Honda is fully aware of this defective Torque converter problem. Unfortunately, Honda denied my claim. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
My back up camera has an issue where it is showing a green and purple tint that is distorting the view. It functions every time I put the car in reverse, but I can barely see what is on the screen because of the colors. I almost hit a person because I could not see her in the back up camera. I also have been unable to use it to attach my trailer because the view is so distorted. I have researched it and many other people have experienced this exact same issue with 2019 Pilots. This needs to be a safety recall as the camera is failing and needs to be replaced.
