Brake line corrosion and leak on drivers side. Location approximately where drivers door meets passenger door. It appears that all of the brake lines except a one foot section in the above location are coated with a hard rubber for corrosion protection. The one foot section in question however is raw metal which is "protected" on the bottom side by a removable plastic covering. The covering is clearly inadequate as the brake line rusted through, potentially causing a serious accident. I notice that Canada has some recalls on Hyandai vehicles other than the Accent for rusty brake lines.
The wiring connection between the blower motor into the hvac resistor is melting. There looks to be burn marks on the plastic female plug that goes into the resistor. I sometimes smell like plastic is burning. I have to keep fan at MAX speed to not use the resistor at all. I believe this could be a fire hazard.
Whenever I get gas even when I pump really slow when I go to remove the nozzle gas spurts out. I have had the charcoal cannister replaced as well as replacing the gas cap but it still happens. This is very dangerous since gas is leaking onto the car and area surrounding it.
Last week my airbag red light came on out of no where, no accident led to this.This car has been maintained and any repairs done in a TIMELY FASHION I CALLED HYUNDAI HEADQUARTERS AND SPOKE TO A SUPERVISOR. SHE WENT ON AND ON ABOUT EVERYTHING BUT WHAT I WAS CALLING ABOUT. SHE THEN DEVULGED SOME INTERESTING ISSUES REGARDING MY VEHICLE. FIRST SHE SAID THERE WAS A RECALL. ON MY VEHICLE.I BELIEVE SHE SAID 944, WHICH SHE SAID WAS A RUST ISSUE RECALL ON THE UNDERCARRIGE. SHE THEN WENT ON TO SAY THE PASSENGER SIDE SAFETY was an issue and complaints from other accent owners of airbag light SHE THEN SAID OH I BET THATS WHY YOU AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON . SHE DID ALSO SPkEAK OF MY CAR HAVING SOME SORT OF EXTENDED FACTORY WARRANTY., CALLING IT EITHER A TXX OR POSSIBLY PXX WHATEVER THAT MEANS. I HAVE BEEN DOING A LOT OF RESEARCH ON THIS ONLY TO FIND OUT THERE ARE MANY HYUNDAI ACCENTS THAT HAVE HAD airbag IREPAIRED FOR FREE. I WAS NOT TOLD THAT MINE WOULD ALSO BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE. DUE TO MY PERSISTENCE THEY EXPEDIATED MY COMPLAINT TO A CASE MANAGER WHOM I SHOULD HEAR FROM IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. MY CASE NUMBER IS 18924458. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THIS? IT OBVIOUSLY IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND HAS OCCURRED IN MANY ACCENTS. What should I do until I hear from case manager? What happens if I disagree with the case workers decision? I do have receipts for close to $ 2,000 worth of routine maintence and repairs which I will upload to you depending on the findings of the case manager.
The air bags randomly stopped working. I was not in a collision or near anything that would have made my air bags deploy or stop working. I have two air bag lights that are staying on to let me know that the airbags are not working. I had a mechanic do a free consultation and he could not find anything wrong with the airbags besides the airbag being faulty.
The driver-side sun visor was falling off during driving when the visor hung at the left (the hanging rod broke from inside) and it's dangous because I could not see. It's definately a safty issue that are talked broadly and a recall is neccessary.
TAKATA RECALL: I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY IN THE RAIN WHEN SOME CARS IN FRONT OF ME STARTED TO STOP. I SLOWED DOWN BUT AS I HIT THE BREAKS THE CAR DIDN'T RESPOND. I PRESSED THE PEDAL MORE AND NOTHING HAPPENED, THEN IT WENT DOWN ALL THE WAY. I MOVED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO PREVENT A CRASH BUT IT STILL HAPPENED. MY CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS. MY AIRBAGS DIDN'T GO OFF EITHER AND I HAD NO BREAK LIGHT INDICATING THAT MY BREAKS WOULD FAIL OR THAT THEY WERE FAULTY.
THE BREAK LIGHTS ARE NOT ILLUMINATING. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF ANY RECALL ON MY CAR AFTER PURCHASE AND I DON'T THINK IT WAS EVER REPAIRED. MY AIR BAG LIGHT IS CONTINUOUSLY ON EVEN THOUGH DIAGNOSTICS HAVE BEEN RAN AND NO CODE COMES UP.
HYUNDAI BRAKE RECALL. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED AS OF YET BUT I NEED THE ISSUE CORRECTED TO PREVENT ANY ISSUES.
CAR STOPPED RUNNING. TIMING BELT BROKE RESULTING IN RUINED ENGINE REQUIRING FULL ENGINE REPLACEMENT. MILEAGE WAS 63K.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP NO ERROR CODES POPULATED, BUT THE LATE CAME BACK ON TWO WEEKS LATER. DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIND ANY ISSUES. I'VE SEEN PAST COMPLAINTS OF THIS IN SIMILAR MODEL CARS, HOWEVER HYUNDAI WILL NOT COVER DUE TO WARRANTY BEING EXPIRED.
DRIVER SIDE VISOR FELL AND HIT MY HEAD WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON ROAD.. IT WAS HANGING THERE AND I COULDN'T SEE FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS UNTIL I HAD TO JUST HOLD IT UP WITH MY HAND UNTIL I GOT HOME AND COULD GET A SCISSORS TO CUT THE CORD THAT KEPT IT HANGING IN MY FACE. A FEW MONTHS LATER THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR FELL. DIDN'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS, SINCE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IN 15 MINUTES I ALREADY FOUND 22 OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS ON THIS AND OTHER WEBSITES. CALLED HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SAID A CASE MANAGER, OSCAR, WOULD GET BACK TO ME IN 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS. THEY WOULDN'T GIVE ME "NATIONALS" PHONE NUMBER, WHERE HE WORKS. HE NEVER CALLED. AGAIN I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY SAID, SORRY, THEY WOULD SEND ANOTHER EMAIL TO OSCAR TO CALL ME WITHIN 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS. HE NEVER DID. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN. THEY SAID OSCAR USUALLY GETS BACK TO PEOPLE WITHIN 1-2 DAYS. THEN A SUPERVISOR CHANGED THE STOREY AND SAID THAT OSCAR WON'T CALL ME UNTIL I CONNECT WITH THE DEALERSHIP TO TRY TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED. SHE SAID SHE WOULD CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP AND TELL THEM TO CALL ME. THEY NEVER DID. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP A WEEK LATER. THEY SAID THE NO ONE EVER CONTACTED THEM (WHICH I DON'T BELIEVE...HE DIDN'T EVEN ASK MY NAME OR ANYTHING). HE SAID THEY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH HYUNDAI BESIDES SELLING AND FIXING THEIR CARS! THIS WAS GLADSTONE HYUNDAI. WHEN PRESSED, HE SAID SOMETIMES A CASE MANAGER WILL CALL THEM BEFORE THE CUSTOMER COMES IN TO TELL THEM HOW TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. SO HYUNDAI NATIONAL (OSCAR M) IS SUPPOSED TO CALL ME.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR FELL OPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING STEADILY ON AN INTERSTATE. I CAN NO LONGER GET THE VISOR TO STAY UP IN THE CLOSED POSITION.
THE VISOR BROKE AND FELL WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THIS IS A VISIBILITY HAZARD AND I AM NOT MECHANICALLY INCLINED. IN MY RESEARCH I'VE FOUND THIS IS COMMON IN CERTAIN HYUNDAI VEHICLES.WHY IS THIS NOT ON YOUR RECALL LIST?
WHILE MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, DRIVING STRAIGHT AFTER 2 RIGHT TURNS, AFTER APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES OF DRIVING, A THIN WISP OF SMOKE ROSE UP FROM MY STEERING COLUMN, OR NEAR MY STEERING COLUMN, ON THE LEFT SIDE. FROM MY GENERAL GOOGLE RESEARCH, THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. *TR
THE IGNITION CABLES AND SPARK PLUGS ARE FAULTY AND HAD TO BE REPLACED JUST AFTER 60,000 MILES. I WAS DRIVING AND SUDDENLY MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING, MY CAR WAS SHAKING, AND NOT SHIFTING PAST FIRST GEAR. HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC. THEY SAID THE IGNITION CABLES AND SPARK PLUGS WERE FAULTY. THEY HAD SEEN THIS ON HYUNDAI'S BEFORE. *TR
THE SUN VISOR DOES NOT STAY IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION OR THE ENGAGED LOWERED POSITION, FALLING STRAIGHT DOWN INTO THE VISION FIELD. THE LOWER CORNER OF THE VISOR HAS TO BE ANCHORED IN THE CLIP ATTACHED TO THE ROOF TO KEEP IT FROM FALLING DOWN. SO THE VISOR IS UNUSABLE.
MY DAUGHTER'S CAR ENGINE SHUTS DOWN WHEN SHE IS DRIVING IN THE STREET. THE CAR WAS TAKEN ON AUGUST 17, 2016, TO HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP AND WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND SENSOR. IT WAS REPLACED AND THEY CHARGED US $800. THE NEXT DAY THE CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. NOW, THE DEALERSHIP IS REPLACING THE CAMSHAFT SENSORS WITH NO GUARANTEE THAT THIS IS THE PROBLEM. THIS PRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING IN THE STREETS OR HIGHWAY. IT CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
DRIVING 75 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE DRIVER'S VISOR FELL INTO MY LINE OF SIGHT, I WASN'T USING THE VISOR AS IT WAS DARK MAKING IT VERY HARD TO SEE. IT'S ELECTRIC SO IT DIDN'T FALL ALL THE WAY JUST INTO MY LINE OF VISION. I HAD TO HOLD IT IN PLACE AND MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO SAFELY ATTEMPT TO FIX IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI ACCENT. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING ON AN INCLINE, THE ENGINE MISFIRED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,426.
MY SON WAS DRIVING AT AROUND 30 MPH ON A 2 LANE CITY STREET WHEN THE STEERING UNIT GAVE OUT AND HE ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. LOOKING UNDER THE CAR HE NOTICED THAT THE STEERING FLUID WAS POURING OUT THE RACK AND PINION GEAR BOX. I DO UNDERSTAND THAT THE CAR HAS OVER 100K MILES ON IT AND IT MORE THAN 5 YRS OLD. HOWEVER I HAVE OWNED MANY CARS WITHIN MY LIFETIME AND NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE - EVER. YET -I DID NOTICE ON THE NHSTA WEBSITE THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER HYUNDAI ACCENT OWNER WITH SAME MODEL YEAR ( 2010 ) WHO LODGED A SIMILAR COMPLAINT. AND KNOWING THAT BOTH THE ELANTRA'S AND SONTA'S HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THEIR STEERING COMPONENTS AROUND THE SAME TIME FRAME MAKE ME SUSPECT THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MORE GOING ON. I THINK- THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BY THE NHSTA.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR FELL OFF (BY ITSELF) AND OBSTRUCTED VIEW NEARLY CAUSING COLLISION AT 65MPH. NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS! WHEN WILL SOMETHING BE DONE?
WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONT-END COLLISION ON FEBRUARY 12, 2016, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CAR'S HISTORY INDICATED NO PRIOR ACCIDENTS OR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION (55 MPH) AND DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A STATE HIGHWAY. THE OTHER VEHICLE ENTERED AN INTERSECTION WITHOUT LOOKING, AND THE HYUNDAI HIT IT BROADSIDE AT FULL SPEED, AS THERE WAS MINIMAL STOPPING TIME.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY 49, STARTED TO TAKE AN EXIT INTO TOWN. THE CAR WOULDN'T SLOW DOWN, TAPPED THE BRAKE, BUT THE RPM KEPT REVVING UP. I PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T SLOW. I CAME OFF THE OFF RAMP AT 60 MILES PER HOUR IN A 35 MILE PER HOUR STREET. CONTINUED PRESSING ON THE BRAKE, WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO LIFT MY FOOT THE CAR WOULD GO FASTER. KNEW I COULDN'T MAKE IT THROUGH THE STOP LIGHT WAS ABLE TO TURN ONTO A SIDE STREET SHIFTED THE CAR INTO PARK AND TURNED THE CAR OFF.

THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAULT CODE FROM THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V566000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,001.
WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL OPERATING SPEED, I WAS ALERTED BY ANOTHER MOTORIST THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WEREN'T WORKING. I REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND THAT FIXED THE PROBLEM. WHILE RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, I NOTICED A RECALL OF HYUNDAI ACCENTS FOR THE YEARS PRIOR TO 2010, BUT THE RECALL DID NOT INCLUDE 2010S. I VERIFIED WITH THE DEALER THAT I HAD NO OPEN RECALLS, SO I REPLACED THE PART AT MY OWN EXPENSE. IT SEEMS THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCHES ARE STILL NOT RELIABLE IN THESE CARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI ACCENT. WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL WAS ACTIVATED AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE SIGNAL LIGHT WENT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER WAS PULLED OVER BY THE POLICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHO PERFORMED A RECALL REPAIR ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND SIMPLY TOOK NOTES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
THERE HAVE BEEN 2 REPAIRS FOR STEERING ALIGNMENT BUT THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIPS CANT CORRECT THE ISSUE. MY STEERING WHHEL IS MISALIGNED
I HAVE THE VERY BASIC MODEL OF THE 2010 HYUNDAI ACCENT. AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD A WOMAN WAS NICE ENOUGH TO STOP ME AND TELL ME MY BRAKE LIGHTS WEREN'T ON, SO I PULLED OVER AND TRIED TESTING IT OUT TO SEE WHAT SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT, EVERY TIME I STEPPED ON THE BREAKS NONE OF THE LIGHTS CAME ON. I WENT HOME AND HAD MY STEP DAD TAKE A LOOK BUT NOTHING IN THE FUSES WERE LOSE AND NONE OF THE BULBS WERE BURNT OUT, SO WE DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND NOTICED THAT HYUNDAI SENT OUT A SAFETY RECALL "HYUNDAI IS RECALLING 1,059,824 VEHICLES, INCLUDING THE 2007-'09 HYUNDAI ACCENT, BECAUSE OF ROLL AWAY RISK AND BRAKE LIGHTS THAT MAY NOT ILLUMINATE.." I AM MORE THAN SURE THIS IS EFFECTING MY CAR AS WELL. *TR

I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CARS MAIN COMPUTER. APPARENTLY MY CAR RAN OUT OF OIL AND THE INDICATOR LIGHT MERELY FLICKERED AT ME A FEW TIMES AND THEN WENT OUT. HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED TO SHOP WHEN IT STALLED, NO CODES FOUND IN THE COMPUTER. SHOP CHANGED OIL. ENGINE WAS REPORTED AS NOISY UPON DELIVERY BUT NOISE GONE AFTER OIL CHANGE. SHOP DECIDED THE ISSUE WAS LACK OF OIL. TWO DAYS LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND TACHOMETER WOULD NOT FUNCTION. DEALERSHIP MISREPRESENTED ISSUE ON PAPERWORK AS STALLED ENGINE, I WAS SIMPLY AFRAID TO DRIVE IT WITH THE TACH NOT FUNCTIONING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON GIVEN ISSUE 2 DAYS PRIOR. ISSUE WITH VEHICLE CRANK SENSOR FOUND. NO MENTION OF CODES SHOWING OR NOT ON THE DEALERSHIP PAPERWORK. I WAS TOLD NO CODES WERE FOUND. TODAY, OIL INDICATOR LIGHT FLICKERED AGAIN. WOULD NOT STAY ON. UPON MY INSPECTION THERE WAS NO OIL. I REFILLED OIL, AND IT BEGAN TO LEAK. TRIED LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY ADVISED DO NOT DRIVE, BUT COULD NOT TAKE VEHICLE. CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, NO WORD YET ON NEWEST ISSUE. THE ONLY INDICATORS THAT SEEM TO WORK ARE FOR THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM. CLIENT WHO IS MECHANIC CLAIMS THE MAIN SYSTEM AND TPMS ARE COMPLETELY SEPARATE. POOR DESIGN OF ENGINE INFORMATION. ONLY METERS ARE SPEED AND TACHOMETER. CUSTOMER MUST RELY ON COMPUTER TO SHOW INDICATORS IF THERE IS AN ISSUE. THIS CARS' OIL INDICATOR IS MALFUNCTIONING. WONDER WHAT OTHER INDICATORS ARE MALFUNCTIONING. *TR
THE TAIL LIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS, AND THE THIRD REAR LIGHT STOPPED WORKING. I CHECKED ALL THE FUSES, AND THE WERE FINE. MY BOYFRIEND WAS HELPING, AND FOUND THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS A LITTLE STICKY. AS HE WAS LOOKING AROUND THE BRAKE SWITCH, HE GIGGLED IT AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS STARTED WORKING. I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE COMPLAINING OF THIS SAME PROBLEM, AND THAT THE 2010 WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT'S GOING TO TAKE A DEATH FROM THIS TO GET THE 2010 ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST. I RIDE WITH MY CHILDREN IN MY CAR ALL THE TIME. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE LOCAL DEALER (STERLING HYUNDAI OF LAFAYETTE, 5001 JOHNSON ST, LAFAYETTE, LA) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI ACCENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WHEN THE SERVICE BRAKE WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT WOULD NOT DETECT WHEN AN OCCUPANT WAS IN THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT OCCUPANT SENSOR MAT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,500.
MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ALL OUT. ALL 3. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT SOME CARS UP UNTIL 2009 WERE RECALLED FOR A FAULTY BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. I AM FEARFUL I COULD PUT MYSELF OR OTHERS IN HARMS WAY. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. I AM NOT SURE IF THERE ARE CURRENTLY OTHER REPORTS BUT I AM DOING SO NOW. I AM TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ASAP TO HAVE IT EVALUATED. A TECHNICIAN HAS ALREADY TROUBLESHOOTED REPLACING THE BULBS AND STILL NOT WORKING. HE BELIEVES IT IS THE SWITCH. THIS WAS STATED PRIOR TO ME DOING RESEARCH ABOUT A POTENTIAL ISSUE WITH HYUNDAI'S BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH. *TR

MY HYUNDAI ACCENT MODEL YEAR 2010 HAD AN ISSUE WHERE THE BRAKE LIGHTS WENT OUT COMPLETELY. MODEL YEARS 2007-2009 ARE UNDER AN ACTIVE RECALL FOR THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND MY CAR HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I CALLED HYUNDAI AND THEY ADVISED THE SWITCH IS DIFFERENT BUT THE DATA I CAN FIND SHOWS THE SAME FAULT EXISTS IN THE 2010 AS WELL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE HYUNDAI IS REFUSING TO FIX...THE NHTSA NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE AND EXPAND THE RECALL TO OTHER MODEL YEARS. *TR
CAR HAD A LIGHT TICKING SOUND FOR DAYS OFF AND ON ......WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD AND CAR STARTING REVVING UP DRIVING ON IT'S OWN. TRIED TO APPLY BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP TRIED TO SHUT CAR DOWN WOULDN'T LET ME. GOT CAR INTO NEUTRAL THEN APPLIED BRAKES GOT CAR TO STOP AND OFF ROAD. WAITED TILL I REGAINED COMPOSURE STARTED CAR AND IT SOUNDED FINE. STARTED DOWN RD AGAIN DROVE ABOUT 4 MILES AND WENT TO PULL INTO HESS STATION DID AGAIN AND ALMOST SHOT US THROUGH FRONT OF STORE. THIS TIME IT SOUNDED AS THOUGH PIECES WERE BEING SHATTERED INSIDE ENGINE....GOT OUT OF CAR AND CHECKED UNDER HOOD AND UNDER CAR NOTHING VISIBLE OF WHAT WAS WRONG. IT WAS LATE NIGHT SO I JUST WANTED TO MAKE IT HOME.....TRIED ONCE MORE IT HAPPENED A THIRD TIME....WAS MILE FROM HOME SO I DROVE IT AGAIN TO MAKE IT....NEXT DAY WE DROVE IT TO DEALERSHIP. THEY TOOK IT FOR TEST DRIVE SAID IT WAS THROTTLE BODY. WE COMPLAINED THAT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY SO THEY TOOK IT OUT AGAIN TO SEE IF MIGHT BE SOMETHING ELSE...THIS TIME FOR THEM CAR WENT TO 4 RPMS AND WOULDN'T GO DOWN SO GAVE USE LOANER CAR......SAID THEY WOULD PUT US IN DIFFERENT CAR OR FIX IT. TOOK US TO USED CAR LOT TO GET ANOTHER CAR THEN BECAUSE OF CREDIT SAID NO....WE ARE A ELDERLY COUPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND THE ONLY CAR THEY OFFERED US BACK IN JULY 2014 WAS THIS 2 DR THAT TRIED TO KILL US.....WE WANTED A 4 DR CAR NOT A LIL SPORTY WE COULDN'T GET IN AND OUT OF THE BACK SEAT! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HYUNDAI ACCENT EQUIPPED WITH GRAND PRIX TOUR PS TIRES, SIZE P175/70/R14 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE WEARING OUT PREMATURELY. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALER THREE TIMES WITHIN ONE YEAR. ALSO, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR SUDDENLY FELL DOWN AND BLOCKED ALL VISIBILITY. THE SUN VISOR WILL NO LONGER STAY UP AND DANGLED ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL UNTIL I REMOVED IT. A CHEAP PLASTIC PART BROKE INSIDE CAUSING IT TO FALL, STARTLING ME AND NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *TR

A FEW MONTHS AGO THE VISOR IN MY 2010 HYUNDAI ACCENT ON THE DRIVER SIDE STOPPED STAYING UP. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON THIS INDICATING MANY ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. *TR
I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND THE ENGINE STOPPED AND WOULD NOT RESTART.. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS STILL WORKING AND THE FLASHERS OPERATED, BUT THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. I REMOVED THE KEY AND REINSTALLED IT AND TRIED TO START THE AUTO WITH NO RESULTS. I'M SETTING IN A MAJOR INTERSECTION WITH A STALLED AUTO.
