The car pulls to the right and it is hard to steer left. At speeds higher than 50mph the steering wheels vibrates when turning left to correct the veering. The Lane Departure and Lane Keeping Assist to not operate correctly because the car veers to the right. I have had the car serviced twice within one week of purchasing and there is no fix from the dealer nor Hyundai. This issue was apparent within minutes of first driving the car, there are no warning lights. The alignment is out of spec but cannot be corrected by the dealer. The cause is reported as an issue with the steering angle sensor.
Speedometer stopped working and went to Zero MPH June 1, 2022. Vehicle has only 2,800 miles on it. Shutting off and restarting the car did not solve this. Simultaneously, the car compass indicated wrong direction; a safety announcement came over the infotainment system repeatedly telling us we were driving the wrong way on the street (we were not). No other indicators of a malfunction came on and the car's internal diagnostics said all was normal despite this problem. Went immediately to Hyundai dealer who confirmed the problem. Dealer fixed it by disconnecting the car's battery and reconnecting it a few minutes later. Safety issue is that suddenly we could not tell if we were exceeding the speed limit or driving too slow.
While driving my car it loses all power steering, said something about lane assist, shows a red circle with an exclamation point. This is dangerous as I can't turn. The only fix is to attempt to pull over, turn the car off and let it reset. This has happened three times in the middle of traffic, nearly causing accidents.
On May 7, 2022 I was driving to Georgia to visit a loved one in the hospital at night. I was driving by myself with my dog. Approximately 1:50 AM, I stopped in Greensville, NC (my halfway point to my destination) to relieve myself, let the dog relieve himself, and fill up my gas tank for the 2nd time (which was 5 hours from my destination). Approximately 15-20 mins after getting back on the road, I opened my sunroof to smoke a cigarette and I hear a loud "boom" on the roof of my vehicle. I looked up to see if my roof luggage crossbars were still in place (and it was). I continued to drive. I finished my cigarette and began to close the sunroof when I heard another loud noise with glass falling into my vehicle. I looked up and noticed that my sunroof has shattered completely. I hit the S.O.S button for assistance and they asked me to pull over. I told they, "Absolutely not! This is not a well lit area; I'm driving by myself; it's just me and my dog; I don't know where I am; I'm in the middle of nowhere; I'm scared; and it's 2:00 in the morning!" I continued driving and told the operator that I was coming up on an area that looked better lit with signs showing food, lodging, and gas. I told her, I was going to get off the highway and go to one of the gas stations in that area. I took the exit and headed to the gas station; however, all of them were closed. I asked her what were my options? She stated that she wanted to send Roadside Assistance to my location and they would tow my vehicle to the nearest hyundai dealership. I told her that everything was closed and because it was so late and I was in the middle of nowhere, I would continue to my destination and call back. I continued to drive 5 hours straight (without stopping) to get to Georgia. During the remainder of my travel, I had to keep holding the sunroof cover because of the vibrations from the wind pockets to keep the cover from sliding and vibrating.
Our vehicle was purchased and taken home on 04/29/2022. On 05/06/23 we took the care in for an alignment issue, as the car drives right off the road, to the right. Dealership said it was off, at 200 miles only. They realigned and gave it back. It happens again, right after leaving the dealership. Car was taken back again on 05/06/22 for realignment yet again. Dealership rotated tires and realigned. This did not work again. So the third time, 06/23/22 we received another rotate and realignment. Again, this did not help, and a new front strut was ordered. The would drive right off the road, to the right, every time. Creating a major safety issue for our two toddlers, and family. The front strut was installed on 10/12/22. The dealership has been frustrated due to not being able to fix the alignment. Mind you, brand new car, 2022 Palisade. Front strut put on, but the vehicle is veering right again. Even the driver who picked the car up said he noticed the problem. Cooperate said we must get a second opinion from a Hyundai dealership before they can intervene. We have taken this brand new car to the same dealer at 200 miles, 1,000 miles, 5,000 miles and most recently for the strut. We’re going to get into an accident and Hyundai beats around the bush.
Our new 2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy with 1200 miles windshield spontaneously cracked in the middle after warming it with the remote car starter in the morning. There was no rock chip or hit the night before when we drove it. It just split, possibly because of warming up a cool windshield.
within 2,500 of purchasing the vehicle new, the windscreen has cracked and a large chip resulting in a "star". Maybe I am unlucky that there have been two in a short period of time and so close to the original purchase date. Wanted to document the issue in case there is an issue with the windscreens. I have heard (internet) of other concerns/issues with Hyundai windscreens, not sure if the Palisade is effected or not.
Car pulls to right, and steering wheel is harder to steer/turn left to correct the pulling, causing strain on driver
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V633000 (Trailer Hitches) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Started to notice an oil spot under the vehicle at around 4500 miles. Since the car is brand new and hadn't even had its first oil change, we immediately scheduled a service appointment. We were finally able to get it into the dealership 2 weeks later and received a diagnosis shortly after drop off. Turns out the oil leak was coming from the head gasket on the right bank of the engine and requires replacement of both head gaskets. The engine oil level was low and the service technician recommended the car not be driven until it could be repaired as simply adding oil would continue to contribute to the leak. Parts have been ordered and requested via next day delivery however they currently do not have an ETA as to when the parts will arrive. The repair job is estimated at 10-12 hours so it will be out of service for 2 days just for repairs once parts do come in. Plus Hyundai would not reimburse car rental fees even though the dealer was out of service loaners however after a day, they were able to provide one. Of greater concern however is why would the head gaskets be leaking oil while the car is still basically being broken in from new. I've had cars of multiple brands with well over 100K miles that never leaked from the head gaskets. If these engines are assembly line built, I'm concerned that the torque specs were off when assembling the heads to the block causing the leak. If that's the case, this issue could begin to pop up on many other vehicles built at the same time. Hyundai is covering under warranty at no cost but now I'm concerned over our investment that we've only had now for 3 months and future reliability. The vehicle is currently out of service for an undetermined amount of time. If not caught, this could have resulted in a full engine failure as the low oil warning never came on.
WINDSHIELD CRACKED UPON BIENG HIT BY A SMALL ROCK FROM THE ROADWAY.
Cracks occuring on windshield without direct impact. Requesting warranty repair but is not being honored by dealer.
Windshield cracks too easily. Glass is not strong, very thin, non protective. 2600 miles.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that after his wife started the vehicle there were several warning messages displayed on the instrument panel including the check engine light, traction control, fuel-saving, forward collision, and master warning lights. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who discovered that the electrical wiring harness had been chewed on and damaged by rodents. The wiring harness was replaced, and the failure was remedied. The contact was informed that because the wiring harness was manufactured using a soy-based material the rodents would chew on the wiring harnesses. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,332. Vehicle has been repaired.*JB
This is horrible and a disaster waiting to happen. Had the vehicle for one week. First snow storm was driving and the wipers stopped working. Most likely due to the poor design of the wiper system. Had to pull over on a highway in a snow storm and dig out the snow from the well where the wipers sit. This is unacceptable and something needs to be done about it. The entire wiper system needs a revamp ASAP.
I was driving on freeway and a small rock or something made a low sound impact with my car’s windshield resulting into a crack. There was traffic on freeway so car wasn’t driven above 40mph speed. The windshield appears to be super thin, and probe to these issues. This thing isn’t being covered by Hyundai and is first in my driving life of 9 years. This is first time with Hyundai, lexus and Mercedes didn’t have any low quality windshields.
2022 Palisade, Less than 3000 miles and this happens. The dealer said “sorry, but it’s road hazard” I’ve owned other vehicles and have driven in interstates with plenty of trucks with things hitting my windshield (previous cars) and I have never in my life seen a windshield crack so easily. The most infuriating part is that the road was clear, there is no way a rock could have hit my car, I wasn’t driving through any underpass nothing to have caused it, where I could have been like fml Debris from a truck. I love my palisade but I was not surprised when I did some research and saw that they are having issues with the 2020 and 2021 windshields cracking easily and have a lawsuit for “fragile windshield” I have filed a complaint and opened a case with Hyundai! I talked to Safelite and an Autobody shop and was told that a windshield should not have cracked so easily. I’m so irritated, especially because it can’t be repaired, the whole windshield would need to be replaced.
Sunroof shattered. We were traveling on I70 in eastern Colorado. The temperature outside was just below freezing and the temperature inside was set to between 72 and 78. We heard a loud bang and we were showered with broken glass. My wife, two sons and I received minor cuts. My wife possibly got some glass in her eye but seems to have gotten it out with no ill effect. While I was very startled I didn’t swerve. If I had, we would likely have lost control of the vehicle. We were traveling at freeway speeds and I think we would have been seriously injured or killed if this had occurred.
Rear differential failed and locked up at speed. No vehicles were behind at the time of the incident but could have easily caused a collision since the break lights weren't activated. Dealership confirmed the rear differential failed. Unable to inspect the components and the differential is going to be shipped to the manufacturer without being opened by the local dealership. Minor shudder felt a few moments prior to the complete failure and lock up and no warning lights came on before or after the incident.
A small foreign object hit the top center of the windshield immediately causing a crack about 10 inches. Within a few days the crack has expanded across the passengers side almost measuring about 2 feet. It seems the windshield is very fragile and not safe for vehicle operation.
When increasing speed once it hits 65 up to 75 the steering wheel shake/vibrates. This is not safe at this speed and uncomfortable to drive. The service manager drove it and agreed the issue was there. It has been into be fixed several times. I am told each time it is fixed, but when test driven it is still an issue. I have been told it is fixed, but I have told them it is not.
Windshield wipers stopped working while driving in a snow storm. You then have to pull off the road with little to no forward visibility. At one point my wife had to roll down the window and stick her head out to see to pull off the road. The wipers seem to pack snow into the area they park and then quit. It is very difficult to get them working again no matter how much snow you dig out of the area the wipers park in. This has happened three times so far this winter.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving in snowy and freezing weather the windshield wipers became inoperable due to an accumulation of snow and ice at the bottom of the windshield. The driver had to open the hood to remove the ice in order to allow the wipers to function. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. Additionally, while driving the odor of antifreeze was present inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who informed that tiny pin holes were present in the radiator and that the radiator needed to be replaced; however, the part was on back order due to high demand. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 10,000.
I have had multiple injectors fail now on multiple occasions while one almost caused an accident when the vehicle lost power on the highway and shut off due to fuel starvation from bad injectors
