AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK FULL, FOUND FUEL LEAKING FROM THE TANK ONTO THE GROUND. REMOVED THE TANK FROM THE CAR AND FOUND 13 RUST HOLES ON THE TOP AND SIDE OF THE FUEL TANK. HOLES WERE FOUND BENEATH AREAS OF SEALANT THAT HAD SEPARATED FROM THE TANK SURFACE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR STATE INSPECTION BUT DID NOT PASS BECAUSE THE SU B FRAME WAS RUSTED. THE CONTACT SPOKE TO THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V124000(SUSPENSION) AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 78,000. *TR
THIN COATING OF CHROME PEELED/BROKE OFF CAUSING RAZOR SHARP EDGE. MY HAND WAS LACERATED ON THIS HANDLE. *TR
I TOOK MY 2004 SONATA FOR INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD NOT PASS DUE TO A LARGE HOLE FROM CORROSION IN FRONT PASSENGER SUBFRAME NEAR CONTROL ARM BOLT COSTING $1200 TO FIX. AFTER FINDING OUT THAT THIS WAS RECALLED AND I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED, I CONTACTED HYUNDAI AND WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR WAS COVERED (I AM IN SO-CALLED "SALT BELT"). WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER BACK, I WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE DEALER THEN CALLED HYUNDAI AND DEALER CALLED ME BACK STATING THAT HYUNDAI WOULD NOT COVER. THIS HOLE CAN GET LARGER AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE THE WHEEL TO FALL OFF WHILE DRIVING. MY APPROX MILEAGE IS ONLY 42K. WHY IS IT NOT COVERED?!?!?!? I'M GETTING THE RUN AROUND. *TR
THE AIR BAG LIGHT SUDDENLY CAME ON, AND HAS STAYED ON. LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. THERE HAS ALREADY BEEN AN AIR BAG RECALL FOR THE 2003 SONATA. WE (ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS) ARE HOPING THAT ONE WILL BE ISSUED FOR THE 2004 MODEL, AS WELL. THANKS! *TR
THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE CRADLE BROKE (DUE TO CORROSION); THE RESULT OF THIS BROKE THE RIGHT FRONT HALF AXLE, AND DETROYED RIGHT FRONT TIRE. *TR
BACKING INTO THE GARAGE, MY FOOT ON BRAKE, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED TO HIGH RPM, THE CAR SHOT BACKWARDS, PROPELLING A HEAVY RUBBER MAT ON WHICH THE CAR IS NORMALLY PARKED OUT OF THE GARAGE AND INTO THE DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE THEN IMPACTED AND CRASHED THROUGH THE REAR GARAGE WALL BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. I MANAGED TO PRY THE GEAR LEVER OUT OF REVERSE, HIT DRIVE INSTEAD AND SENT THE CAR, WHEELS STILL SPINNING AND LAYING DOWN RUBBER, FORWARD OUT OF THE GARAGE. ON ITS WAY OUT THE CAR SWIPED ALONG THE RIGHT SIDE THE GARAGE DOOR POST BEFORE FINALLY COMING TO A STOP IN THE DRIVEWAY. FINAL RESULT, SERIOUS DAMAGE TO BOTH THE CAR AND THE GARAGE. FORTUNATELY THIS DID NOT OCCUR IN TRAFFIC OR WITH PEDESTRIANS IN THE AREA. ON-LINE RESEARCH HAS SINCE SHOWN ME THAT THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS OTHER SIMILAR INCIDENTS WHERE HYUNDAI SONATAS HAVE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ON THEIR OWN. MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON IN MY CAR. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER AT SOUTHTOWNE HYUNDAI IN RIVERDALE GEORGIA AND THEY DIDN'T CALL THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT MY CAR. MY CAR WAS HIT T-BONE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT HEAD LIGHT AND THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY.I ASKED THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES TO CALL BECAUSE MY AIRBAG LIGHT SHOULD NOT COME ON BY ITSELF. THE DEALER JUST WANTED ME TO PAY OVER $500.00 TO GET IT REPAIRED. I WANTED TO KNOW AT ANYTIME WAS THE AIRBAG MODEL FOR MY CAR RECALLED AND HYUNDAI KEPT IT A SECRET.THIS IS THE SECOND HYUNDAI I HAVE PURCHASED. I CALLED MY CAR MY JAGUAR.
AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON. AN INTERNET SEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH 2014 SONATAS, BUT HYUNDAI HAS FAILED TO ISSUE A RECALL. THERE IS, HOWEVER, A RECALL FOR THE 2013 SONATAS. DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE IS NOT A RECALL. I PURCHASED MY CAR EARLY IN 2004 YEAR. MANY PARTS ARE CARRYOVERS FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR. *TR
I WAS INVOLVED IN A CHAIN REACTION COLLISION ON I-10 INTERSTATE. MY VEHICLE RE-ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE AND NEITHER THE DRIVER'S NOR THE PASSENGER'S AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. FRONT END DAMAGED AND INSURANCE HAS TOTALED MY CAR. BRAKES DID NOT SEEM TO STOP WITH SUFFICIENT FORCE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, SHE NOTICED A VIBRATION FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS CORRODED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V124000 (SUSPENSION) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. *TR
PAINT IS FALLING OFF AROUND THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES. PASSENGER SIDE DOOR IS RARELY USED AND THIS IS THE WORST SIDE OF IT. VEHICLES ARE SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE MULTIPLE COATS OF PAINT AT TIME OF MANUFACTURE IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH MANY OF THE 2004 SONATA MODELS, I HAVE NOTICED MANY OF THE SAME MODEL CARS AROUND TOWN WITH PEELING PAINT AROUND THE DOOR HANDLES. THIS VEHICLE HAS BARELY OVER 100K MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE DISCOVERED INTERNAL CORROSION OF THE FRONT SUB-FRAME ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 124,000.
DRIVING ON CLEAR PAVED STREET @ APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH WHEN LOUD CRACKLING NOISE OF FRONT RIGHT FELL TO PAVEMENT. NO LOSS OF CONTROL, MERELY STEERED VEHICLE OFF MAIN LANE OF STREET. NO STRUCTURE OR OBJECT FOUND ON PAVED STREET FOR APPROXIMATELY 50 YDS TO FINAL POINT OF EXITING OFF OF STREET. WITNESS IN CAR WITH DRIVER CAN ATTEST TO NO POT HOLES OR OTHER NOTED OBJECTS ANYWHERE IN AREA OF TIRE MARKINGS ON PAVED STREET. AUTO REQUIRED FULL TOW TO CLOSEST DEALERSHIP. *TR
THE FRAME TO THE CAR HAS A HOLE RUSTED THRU THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BOLT AND IS NO LONGER DRIVABLE. THE CAR WAS STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY AND SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED HYUNDAI SAYS ITS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL BUT ITS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS ALL THE REST. *TR
THE CHROME ON THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLES ARE CRACKING & PEELING. I HAVE CUT MY FINGER TWICE NOW ON THE SHARP EDGES. ALSO, THE PAINT IS COMING OFF THE MOLDING AROUND THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE. *TR *JS
EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON MY 2004 HYUNDAI SONATA BEGAN FLASHING FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND COULD NOT BE TURNED OFF (IGNITION WAS OFF), THIS CONTINUED FOR 15-30 MINUTES FROM THE TIME IT WAS NOTICED (NEIGHBORS KNOCKED AT THE DOOR TO REPORT THAT THE FLASHERS HAD BEEN LEFT ON). THE OCCURRENCE REPEATED SEVERAL TIMES THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT AND THE NEXT DAY. ACCESSING THE VEHICLE USING THE KEYLESS ENTRY, THE DOORS RE-LOCKED THEMSELVES, AND THIS REPEATED EACH TIME I UNLOCKED THEM. THE FLASHERS STOPPED WHEN THE DOOR WAS OPEN OR THE CAR WAS TURNED ON, BUT WHEN THE DOOR WAS OPENED THERE WAS A CLICKING NOISE IN THE DASH (AT THE SAME RATE AS THE FLASHERS HAD BEEN FLASHING). WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR AND THEY SAID IT IS THE EMERGENCY FLASHER 4-WAY SWITCH (PART #937903C000) -- WHICH IS ON NATIONAL BACK-ORDER FOR ONE MONTH! THIS PART IS APPARENTLY NOT COVERED ON THE GOLD PLUS PROTECTION PLAN! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE UNTIL CRASHING INTO THE WALL OF A BUILDING. THE AIRBAGS ONLY DEPLOYED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE POLICE WERE NOTIFIED AND A REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENEGER SUSTAINED MINOR BRUISING AND WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS PENDING AN INVESTIGATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED VIA EMAIL AND THE CONTACT HAD YET TO RECEIVE A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 30,000.
WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON DECEMBER 04 2011. I HAD SIGNIFICANT FRONT END DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE DUE TO SOMEONE RUNNING A STOP SIGN. HOWEVER, MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY ON FRONT!! ONLY ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND WAS NOT FULL OPEN , VERY CONCERN ON SAFETY! *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON. HAS BEEN IN TO DEALER AND OTHER MECHANICS SEVERAL TIMES AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN BLAMED ON UNDER THE SEAT ISSUES. WE HAVE SPENT SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS GETTING CONNECTIONS CLEANED AND WIRES REINFORCED. LIGHT ON AGAIN AND NOW WE HAVE BEEN QUOTED >$2000 TO REPLACE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT (HIGH RESISTANCE NOTED). NOT SURE I TRUST THE DIAGNOSIS OR BELIEVE THE SOLUTION. AM HESITANT TO INVEST ANY MORE IN THIS ISSUE WHEN THEY NEVER SEEM TO FIX IT. WOULD LIKE TO HAVE FUNCTIONING AIRBAGS. THIS SEEMS LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE AND SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT REQUIRE AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR AS THE AIRBAGS HAVE NEVER DEPLOYED AND THE CAR IS RELATIVELY NEW. I URGE AN INVESTIGATION OF THIS ISSUE WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE RECALL MERIT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V171000 ( LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES: DOORS: LATCH). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL AND OFFERED NO OTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,500.
THE INTERNAL FLOOR ON DRIVER SIDE SHOWS OBVIOUS EROSION FROM NORMAL SALT EXPOSURE IN THE WINTER. DEALER IGNORED MY COMPLAINT OF THE EROSION WHEN I WENT TO ADDRESS ANOTHER RECALL REGARDING SALT EROSION. ME AND A FAMILY MEMBER RECEIVED CUTS ON THE FINGER FROM PEELING COVERING ON INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. PAINT NEAR EXTERIOR HANDLES SCRATCHES EASILY AND EVENTUALLY REVEALS THE COLOR OF THE SECOND LAYER OF PAINT WHICH IS A DRASTICALLY DIFFERENT COLOR FROM THE CAR'S EXTERIOR PAINT COLOR. *TR
THE 'AIRBAG ON' SIGN HAS BEEN ON FOR A WHILE. I UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I TRIED TO ALERT THE MANUFACTURER. THEY DO NOT WANT TO TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY SINCE THE RECENT RECALL EXCLUDES CARS MANUFACTURED IN 2004, AND THE CAR IS OUT OF ITS WARRANTY PERIOD AS WELL. I PUT AN INTERNET SEARCH AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINS ON HYUNDAI SONATA AIRBAG ISSUES.

OUR CAR WAS EXCESSIVELY VIBRATING; WE WERE TOLD THAT THE HARMONIC STABILIZER NEEDED TO BE FIXED AND THAT HYUANDI CARS WERE KNOWN FOR HAVING THIS PROBLEM. *TR

AS THE CONTACT APPROACHED A TRAFFIC LIGHT, HE NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN DEPRESSED; HE HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. THE BRAKES SQUEAKED AND MADE A NOISE AS IF PRESSURE HAD LEFT THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.
INTERIOR CHROME DOOR HANDLE CRACK, CAUSING THE CHROME PLATING TO SEPARATE. AFTER SEPARATION THE HANDLE BECOMES EXTREMELY SHARP AND CUT MY HAND.
2004 HYUNDAI SONATA GLS DIES RANDOMLY WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT OR TURNING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, THEN STARTS RIGHT UP AND MAY NOT DO IT AGAIN FOR A MONTH OR A FEW DAYS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON AND VEHICLE RUNS GREAT BESIDES DYING IN TRAFFIC WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH. *TR
THERE WAS NOT A CRASH, HAVING MAJOR ISSUES WITH THE FRONT SUSPENSION, HAVE TAKEN TO NUMEROUS MECHANICS FOR INSPECTION AND THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG..FEELS LIKE THE WHEELS ARE GOING TO FOLD UNDER AND WHEN GOING AROUND A CORNER WITH PAVEMENT LEVEL CHANGES, IT PULLED DRAMATICALLY..ITS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, AND SURELY CAUSE FOR RECALL. A RECALL FOR THE SUSPENSION FOR VEHICLES IN THE SALT STATES ONLY...DOES NOT MAKE SENSE WHEN IM READING SOME OF THE ISSUES FOLKS ARE HAVING ISSUES CAN BE CAUSED JUST BY FAULTY WORKMANSHIP, VERY POOR QUALITY. AND AFTER CONTACTING HYUNDAI THEY MENTIONED MINE CAN NOT BE PART OF IT CAUSE IM NOT LOCATED ON THE EAST COAST. THIS SOUNDS ODD, IM HAVING SAME ISSUES .. *TR

INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE CHROME PEELING OFF CAUSING SHARP METAL THAT CAN CUT FINGERS OR HANDS. *TR
INSIDE DOOR HANDLES THIN COVERING (APPEARS TO BE ALUMINUM) IS PEELING APART AND I HAVE CUT MY HAND ON THE SHARP EDGE WHICH CAME APART. DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE THE HANDLE BECAUSE HYUNDAI HAS NOT RECALLED THE 2004 MODELS WHICH HAS THE ***SAME PROBLEM**AS THE 2003 MODEL. *TR
I ENTERED MY CAR AND STARTED UP THE IGNITION AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON. MY CAR IS A 2004 HYUNDAI SONATA. I TOOK MY CAR TO A MECHANIC AND HE USED A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL IN AN ATTEMPT TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE TOOL REPORTED THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM, HOWEVER, THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS STILL ON. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE LOCAL HYUNDAI REPAIR DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THE PPD SENSOR WAS BAD. MY CAR HAS 53, 965 MILES ON IT. I WAS CHARGED $375 TO REPLACE THE PPD SENSOR. WHEN I WENT ONLINE TO READ ABOUT THE SENSOR, I LEARNED IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THE SONATA AND ELANTRA MODELS MANUFACTURED BY HYUNDAI MOTOR CO. *TR

WHILE ADDING FUEL TO THE VEHICLE THE CONTACT NOTICED THERE WAS A SMALL VALVE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FUEL TUBE THAT FRACTURED AND POSSIBLY HAD FALLEN INTO THE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT SMELLED A STRONG FUEL ODOR EMITTING IN THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE AFTER IT WAS STARTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY; THEREFORE, HE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.

THE AC/HEATING ELECTRIC [FAN] CONTROL COMES ON WHEN IT WANTS TO BUT WILL NOT ACTIVATE WHEN TURNED ON. WHEN TAKEN TO A MECHANIC ON 3 OCCASIONS, IT ACTIVATES AND REMAINS ON FOR DAYS THEN STOPS AND WILL NOT COME ON AGAIN. MECHANICS DO NOT WANT TO WORK ON IT UNLESS IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. EVERYONE WANTS TO "INVESTIGATE" AND CHARGE ME ACCORDINGLY BUT NO ONE WANTS TO TELL ME THE ACTUAL PROBLEM. THIS HAD BEEN GOING ON FOR MANY MONTHS ON MY CAR, AS WELL AS OTHER HYUNDAI MODELS. THE UNRESOLVED SITUATION REMAINS DANGEROUS BECAUSE OF WINDOW FOGGING AND LACK OF AIR FLOW THROUGH THE VENT SYSTEM IN THE FRONT AND REAR. LAST WINTER A PARTIALLY FOGGED WINDOW, WHILE THE FAN WAS RUNNING, CONTRIBUTED TO AN ACCIDENT DURING A VERY HEAVY RAIN STORM. *TR
RECALL ON 2004 HYUNDAI. I CALLED 5 DEALERS TO HAVE THEM INSPECT MY CAR, DUE TO THE RECALL I RECEIVED ABOUT POSSIBLE FRAME RUSTING. THE WAIT IS ANY WHERE FROM 10 DAYS TO A MONTH, JUST TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT THE FRAME. I EXPLAINED THAT MY CAR IS SHOWING THE SIGNS OF DAMAGED RUSTED FRAME. I REQUESTED THAT THEY EITHER. PAY FOR MY ROOM OR PAY FOR MY CAR RENTAL. *TR

THE VEHICLE HAD WATER DAMAGED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE AIR CONDITIONING HOSE SEALANT THAT ALLOWED WATER TO PENETRATE WHICH CAUSED MILDEW TO FORM ON THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL WILL NEED TO BE REMOVED IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE DAMAGED WIRING AND SEALANT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A YEAR AGO WATER PENETRATED THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE SEALANT AROUND THE BRAKE LIGHTS. THE VIN INFORMATION WASN'T AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WILL BE CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,000.

EMERGENCY FLASHERS BEGAN FLASHING FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND WOULD NOT BE TURNED OFF. THEN TRYING TO USE THE KEYLESS ENTRY DOOR OPENER, THE LOCKS BEGAN LOCKING AND UNLOCKING. WHEN THE CAR WAS RUNNING THIS STOPPED. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE ETAC MODULE, THEN THE ENTIRE FUSE BOX. AFTER RETURNING HOME, THE HAZARD LIGHTS AGAIN BEGAN FLASHING WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED. THIS WOULD STOP AND BEGIN AGAIN INTERMITTENTLY. RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND LEFT THE CAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS. FINALLY A SWITCH WAS REPLACED AND THE PROBLEM CEASED. *TR

THE PAINTED ALLOY WHEELS ON MY 2004 HYUNDAI SONATA ARE BUBBLING, PITTING AND CORRODING RESULTING IN REGULAR AND UNEXPECTED LOSS OF AIR. THE PAINT IS COMING OFF IN LARGE PIECES. THE DAMAGE IS NECESSITATING AIR FILL-UP PRIOR TO MOVING VEHICLE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. NUMEROUS TRIPS TO TIRE SHOP TO "FIX FLATS" HAVE RESULTED IN "BEAD LEAKS" DUE TO THE CORROSION. DEALER ACKNOWLEDGES PROBLEMS IN THIS AREA BUT WILL NOT REPLACE WHEELS OR OFFER SOLUTION (I OFFERED TO ACCEPT REGULAR STEEL WHEELS AND WHEEL COVERS) EVEN UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. I HAVE A 2004 HYUNDAI SONATA V6 THAT GIVES ME PROBLEMS WHEN I FILL THE GAS TANK UP. I KNOW THAT THIS MIGHT SOUND CRAZY BUT, WHEN I GO TO START THE CAR, IT WILL NOT TURN OVER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD DELAMINATED, WHICH MEANT THAT THE GLASS WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO HOLD THE MIRROR IN PLACE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE WINDSHIELD BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS HARDLY IN ANY HEAT AND NO OBJECTS STRUCK THE WINDSHIELD. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 115,000.
