NOTICED A FLUID LEAKING IN THE DRIVE WAY. UPON INVESTIGATION, IT WAS BRAKE FLUID AND THE LINES RUSTED THROUGH. THANK JESUS MY WIFE WASN'T DRIVING THE CAR. THE KICKER IS NO BRAKE WARNING LIGHT WAS DISPLAYED ON THE DASH.
THROTTLE BODY HAS FAILED 3 TIMES IN A ROW.
WHEN EXITING A HIGHWAY ONTO AN EXIT RAMP TO THE RIGHT, THE CAR LOOSES POWER STEERING AT AROUND 35 MILES PER HOUR. MY WIFE CAN NOT TURN THE WHEEL AT ALL. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME, MY WIFE AND MY STEPSON. AFTER STRAIGHTENING THE WHEEL THE CAR CAN BE STEERED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND PLACED IN EITHER DRIVE OR REVERSE, IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE UNLESS HE PLACED THE GEAR IN NEUTRAL. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED BEFORE OR AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CAR PROS HYUNDAI RENTON (201 S 7TH ST, RENTON, WA 98057) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED. *TT VIN AVAILABLE *JB
SUDDEN UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION WITH NO POWER BRAKE. ACCELERATION OF VEHICLE ON IT'S OWN. WHEN IN PARK AND NEUTRAL VEHICLE IDLES FINE AND POWER BRAKES WORK. WITH FOOT ON BRAKE AND PLACING THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE OR REVERSE IT ACCELERATED IMMEDIATELY TO UNCONTROLLABLE SPEEDS WITH NO FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. AT THE SAME TIME YOU LOSE POWER BRAKE AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL UNLESS THE DRIVER PUTS THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL, THEN POWER BRAKE ENGAGES AND ACCELERATION STOPS. THIS HAPPENED TO MY DAUGHTER'S CAR ON 4/24/18. THANKFULLY THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. I ALSO TESTED THE CAR AND IT IS UNCONTROLLABLE. EXPERIENCED NO PROBLEMS OR WARNINGS PRIOR TO THIS. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEFORE OR AFTER THIS INCIDENT. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MY AUTO REPAIR SHOP. GOT THE CAR ON THE LIFT AND PUT IT IN DRIVE. IT IMMEDIATELY ACCELERATED ON IT'S OWN AND REACHED 80 MILES PER HOUR QUICKLY. NO FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR OR BRAKE. DECIDED TO CALL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 4/30. THE TECH CONFIRMED OUR CONCERNS. ON 5/11 THE SERVICE MANAGER CONTACTED HYUNDAI CORPORATION ON OUR BEHALF. WE ALSO CALLED HYUNDAI CUSTOMER CARE ON 5/13. NO VEHICLE SHOULD EXTREMELY ACCELERATE AND LOSE POWER BRAKE AT THE SAME TIME! THIS IS A SAFETY DEFECT. REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE PROBLEM IS NO VEHICLE SHOULD REACT LIKE THIS. THE VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED TO FIND THE ROOT PROBLEM AND SOLVE IT! THIS IS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ANY VEHICLE FROM DOING THIS AGAIN. THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME BACK ON A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, AGAIN, INFORMED BY DEALER THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO RESEARCH IT THE NEXT TIME I CAME IN. THE PARK LIGHTS WILL NOT ALWAYS SHUT OFF WHEN IN THE AUTO SETTING, SO FAR HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET THEM TO SHUT OFF BY REPEATEDLY TURNING LIGHT SWITCH ON AND OFF. THE ABS/ESC LIGHT COMES ON RANDOMLY AND WILL USUALLY GO OFF AFTER TURNING CAR OFF AND RESTARTING. NOW, THE TRUNK WILL NOT CLOSE AND THE TRUNK LIGHT IS ON CONTINUALLY AND THE LIGHTS WILL NOT LIGHT WHEN HITTING THE DOOR LOCK BUTTON ON THE FOB, SO I DO NOT KNOW IF THE VEHICLE IS SECURE AND SAFE TO ENTER AT NIGHT. THESE SITUATIONS ALL OCCUR EITHER WHEN PARKING OR IN THE CASE OF THE ABS/ESC WHILE DRIVING OR WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING AND STATIONARY.
TODAY I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A RECALL ON THE REAR CROSS MEMBER. I ALSO WANTED TO PAY FOR A FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT AT MY OWN COST. I DROPPED MY CAR OFF THIS MORNING ONLY TO BE CALLED A COUPLE HOURS LATER. THE GENTLEMAN STATED THAT HE COULDN'T DO AN ALIGNMENT ON THE FRONT TIRES BECAUSE "THE FRONT SUBFRAME IS ROTTED AROUND THE CONTROL ARM MOUNTING POINTS." HE SAID THAT MY CAR WAS "VERY UNSAFE" AND THAT I REALLY SHOULDN'T DRIVE IT. MY RIDE HAD LEFT AND I WAS 40 MINUTES FROM HOME. I HAD NO CHOICE. THANKFULLY, I MADE IT HOME SAFELY AND NOW IT'S PARKED FOR AWHILE. BUT AFTER SOME RESEARCH I SAW THAT 2001-2004 HYUNDAI SONATA WERE RECALLED FOR THE FRONT SUBFRAME ROTTING AWAY. NOT ONLY THAT, I SAW MANY CASES OF OWNERS OF 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA WITH THE SAME PROBLEM THAT I AM HAVING. HE TOLD ME THAT THE COST TO REPAIR WOULD BE OVER $1,300. OH MY. SO, MANY OTHER 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT SUBFRAME ROTTING AND RUSTING OUT. I REALLY FEEL LIKE SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS.

THE DEALER NORTHTOWNE AUTO GROUP (6728 N OAK TRAFFICWAY, KANSAS CITY, MO 64118, (816) 436-2255) DIAGNOSED THAT THE OSC MAT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V161000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN THE DEALER REPLACING THE PART. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN UNKNOWN NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL WAS TILTED. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN FRONT OF AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SHOP, A TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE CROSSMEMBER DETACHED AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TAKEN TO A HYUNDAI DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AUTOFAIR HYUNDAI (1477 S WILLOW ST, MANCHESTER, NH 03103, (603) 634-0635) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CROSSMEMBER DETACHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V354000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 247,000.
I FOUND THIS RECALL MESSAGE "HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA (HYUNDAI) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2006-2011 HYUNDAI AZERA AND 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA VEHICLES. WATER MAY ENTER THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE (ABS) MODULE AND RESULT IN AN ELECTRICAL SHORT .AN ELECTRICAL SHORT WITHIN THE ABS MODULE MAY CAUSE AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE, EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF, INCREASING THE RISK OF AN INJURY." WHAT I NEED TO ACTION FOR THIS ISSUE?
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTING GOING ON AND OFF. OUR 19-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT NIGHT WHEN THE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE. SHE STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY, TURNED IT OFF AND NEVER COULD RESTART IT. THE ENGINE DIED. IT BLEW A ROD. THE CAR HAD REGULAR MAINTENANCE. WE HADN'T HAD ANY WORK DONE RECENTLY THAT COULD HAVE LED TO ENGINE PROBLEMS. THE MECHANIC SAID IT HAD OIL AND HE COULDN'T EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE ESC AND ABS LIGHTS CONTINUE TO COME ON WITHOUT WARNING. THEY GO OFF ONCE I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF BUT SHORTLY AFTER DRIVING THEY COME BACK ON.
WHILE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A RED LIGHT, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. LUCKILY I WAS VERY CLOSE TO HOME, BUT I HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL VERY EARLY AT ALL REMAINING STOPS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TRIP. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, I DISCOVERED THE RIGHT REAR BRAKE LINE HAS DEVELOPED A LEAK ABOVE THE SUSPENSION SUB-FRAME.
AIRBAG LIGHT ON DASH WON'T GO OFF... CAME ON FOR NO REASON AT ALL!
MY ESC LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON I HAVE TO DISCONNECT MY BATTERY TO RESET EVERYTHING FOR MY CAR TO MOVE. WHEN THE ESC LIGHT IS ON MY CAR DOES NOT MOVE. WHEN I'M DRIVING THE LIGHT WILL COME ON TOO AND MY CAR DIES. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS .
1 WEEK AGO I PURCHASED VIA PRIVATE SALE A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON THE NEXT DAY. I TOOK TO GARAGE FOR REQUIRED ANNUAL INSPECTION AND FAILED BECAUSE THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. I FIND IT QUITE IMPOSSIBLE TO BE CHARGED THE ENORMOUS FEE FROM A DEALER TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE. THEN I FOUND OUT IT HAD BEEN RECALLED IN THE PAST FOR THIS ISSUE AND NOW HYUNDAI IS NO LONGER HONORING THE FREE FIX. WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR ME?
CAR HYUNDAI SONATA V6 2006 STARTED DEVELOPING ENGINE NOISE WHEN I WAS DRIVING IT IN MY PARKING LOT AFTER I MADE A TURN.. CYCLIC NOISE SIMILAR TO THE ONE MENTIONED IN HTTPS://WWW.CONSUMERREPORTS.ORG/CRO/CARS/HYUNDAI-SONATA-ENGINE-FAILURES-PROMPT-RECALL IT HAS 104000 MILES AND IS NOT LOW ON OIL. MECHANIC SAYS ENGINE HAS TO BE REPLACED.. IT'S NOISE FROM INSIDE THE ENGINE AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH IT.
FAULTY SEAT BELT PRE TENSIONER
THE ESC LIGHT IS ON ALWAYS ON MY HYUNDAI SONATA 2006 GLS.I DID THE RECALL ON THE ABS LIGHT ISSUE AND THAT WAS FIXED IN 2017 BUT SOON AFTER THAT ESC LIGHT IS ON AND IT WILL NOT GO OFF.I HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND WAS THINKING THAT THIS ISSUE HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THAT BUT THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT I HAVE A FAULTY YAW RATE SENSOR AND IT WOULD COST ME 1200 FOR THE REPAIR.I FOUND IN MANY HYUNDAI FORUMS THAT 2006 HAS THIS ISSUE AND IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED ONLY IF A COMPLAINT IS REGISTERED.REQUEST YOU TO ACT ON THIS AS ITS TOO MUCH OF COST TO THE CUSTOMERS.
THIS CAR IS EXHIBITING THE SAME BEHAVIOR AS OTHER SONATA MODELS FROM 2006 THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS) IN THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT. THUS WITH THIS ISSUE, NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT COULD OCCUR CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. I'M NOT SURE WHY THIS PARTICULAR VIN IS NOT COVERED UNDER A RECALL THAT SPANS ALL HYUNDAI SONATAS FROM 2006-2008. THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO A DEALERSHIP AND WAS VERIFIED AS THE PROBLEM THIS CAR IS EXHIBITING AND THIS SHOULD BE PART OF THIS RECALL. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY RECALL THAT SHOULD BE COVERED AND I WOULD LIKE MORE INFORMATION AS TO WHY THIS WOULD NOT BE PART OF THIS RECALL, WHEN THE CAR IS CLASSIFIED UNDER THE PARAMETERS OF THE RECALL AND IS EXHIBITING THE SIGNS OF THE PROBLEM THE RECALL COVERS. THIS OCCURS WHENEVER YOU TURN ON THE VEHICLE AND THE SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT MALFUNCTIONS. LUCKILY, THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENT AND THUS NO OPPORTUNITY FOR THE AIRBAG TO FAIL TO DEPLOY, BUT IF IT OCCURS, IT WILL DEFINITELY LEAD TO A HEFTY LAWSUIT.
AIRBAG LIGHT ON DASHBOARD HAS COME ON AND WILL NOT GO OUT.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT HAS COME ON WHEN CAR IS STARTED. IF SYSTEM IS NORMAL, WARNING LIGHT COMES ON ONLY MOMENTARILY AND THEN GOES OFF.
RESPONDED TO A AIRBAG RECALL JULY 2013. DEALERSHIP INDICATED THEY CORRECTED RECALL. HOWEVER, NOW 11/2017 AIRBAG LIGHT GOES ON. CAR MECHANIC SAYS LIGHT IS INDICATING A RECALL ON AIRBAG. CONTACTED HYUNDAI CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CORRECTION ONLY REPLACED THE SEATBELT NOT THE SEATBELT TENTIONER AND WE WERE NEVER INFORMED THAT THEIR WAS NO FIX AT THE TIME FOR THE TENTIONER. NO FURTHER NOTICE WENT OUT INDICATING REPAIR COULD BE DONE. THEY INDICATE IT CAN BE FIXED NOW UNDER CAMPAIGN TXX2.
HI MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON CONTINUOUSLY AND WHEN I SCAN WITH OBD SCANNER IT SHOWS B1448 CODE.(OCS) ...SO HOW TO FIX IT......CAN HYUNDAI DEALER WILL REPAIR THIS FOR FREE.....BECAUSE ITS A RECALL AS WELL....
THE ESC OFF STARTED JUST LIGHTING UP OUT OF NO WHERE THEN STAYING ON TILL I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE NOW THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS STAYING ON AFTER I START THE VEHICLE WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS TO BE HAPPENING? ALSO IT THE ESC HAPPENS WHILE IN MOTION AND THE AIRBAG HAPPENED WITH CAR WAS STATIONARY.
IT ALL STARTED WITH 3 BAD ALTERNATORS. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED 3 TIMES IN 2 YEARS ALL BRAND NEW ALTERNATORS. IN THOSE 2 YEARS THE CAR HAD TROUBLE STARTING IN INTERMENTS. TURNING THE KEY 5-6 TIMES THE CAR WILL EVENTUALLY START. RECENTLY THE CAR'S HEADLIGHTS, AIR CONDITIONING, AND RADIO TURN OFF WHEN THE CAR IS SLOWING BY APPLYING THE BRAKE. COMPUTER PROMPTED NO CODE FOR A PROBLEM. I HAVE READ ABOUT THESE SAME ISSUES WITH THE SAME MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR. WHAT IS THE MALFUNCTION?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE LEFT THE ROADWAY, ENTERED THE WOODS, AND SPUN AROUND SEVERAL TIMES. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK, LOWER BACK, AND HEAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF INJURIES IN THE OTHER VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED TO DETERMINE WHY THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IN 2015, THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT MILLER HYUNDAI (4455 VESTAL PKWY E VESTAL, NY 13850 877-386-0382) PER A RECALL NUMBER: 88801F01 REGARDING THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE BUCKLE PRETENSIONER AND AIR BAGS. THE CORRECT RECALL INFORMATION WAS UNAVAILABLE. IN 2015, PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIR, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS UNKNOWN, BUT A SPRING WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 154,244.
I TOOK MY SONATA IN TO A INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR THE ANNUAL STATE INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT SUB- FRAME WAS RUSTED/CORRODED AND WOULD NEED REPLACED. I WAS RESEARCHING THIS ON THE COMPUTER AND SAW THAT THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON SAFETY ISSUE AND CALLED HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOOK MY INFO AND TOLD ME THAT MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED, BUT I COULD AT MY OWN EXPENSE TAKE IT TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND HAVE IT EVALUATED. THEY GAVE ME A CASE # 10454251, I TOLD THEM I WAS GOING TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE NHTSA. MY CAR HAS 114,000 PLUS MILES ON IT.
LOWER CONTROL ARM RUSTED AT FRAME CAUSED FRONT WHEEL TO SHIFT TO REAR AND STEERING ISSUES. DUE TO THE RUST DAMAGE THIS VEHICLE IS NO LONGER SAFE TO OPERATE. THE SHIFT IN THE TIRE LOCATION OCCURRED WHILE ACCELERATING NORMALLY FROM A STOP ON A VILLAGE ROADWAY, GOING STRAIGHT IN TRAFFIC. I BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED WITH SUBSTANDARD STEEL AS HYUNDAI AS SINCE IMPROVED THE STEEL USED IN THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS ON THIS MODEL. I FILED A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT REGARDING THE REAR SUBFRAME WHICH WAS REPLACED ON THE SAME VEHICLE.
AIR BAG LIGHT ON DASH STAYED LIT ALL THE TIME. TOOK TO MECHANIC WHO SAID CODE SHOWED PASSENGER SIDE SENSOR IS FAULTY WHICH MEANS THE WHOLE SEAT HAS TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER FOR ENTIRE AIR BAG SYSTEM TO WORK. SAID CODES SHOWED PRIOR SIMILAR OCCURANCES. HYUNDAI NEEDS TO REIMBURSE FOR REPLACEMENT AND ISSUE RECALL -LOTS OF SIMILAR ACCOUNTS ONLINE.
TL* THE CONTACT'S GIRLFRIEND'S DAUGHTER OWNS A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE MAKING LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS, THE VEHICLE BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AND THE ABS INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT JACKED THE VEHICLE UP TO INSPECT UNDERNEATH AND NOTICED CORROSION ON THE REAR CONTROL ARM, WHICH HAD SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED TARBOX HYUNDAI (3665 QUAKER LN, NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI 02852, (401) 826-1500) WHO STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
A RED LIGHT APPEARED ON MY INSTRUMENT PANEL THAT STATED "AIR BAG" AND CONTINUES TO STAY LIT WHEN VEHICLE IS DRIVEN. I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS AN AIRBAG OR SENSOR MALFUNCTION WITH THE VEHICLE. I AM MAKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP TODAY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE CHECKED FOR THIS ISSUE.
The contact owns a 2006 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The contact also stated that the air bag warning light was related to the seat belt which was repaired before; however, the air bag light continued to remain illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON. I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER (LHM HYUNDAI IN SPOKANE VALLEY, WA), THEY FIX IT AND IT KEEPS TURNING BACK ON. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN I ADJUSTED THE SEAT. THE CAR WAS PARKED WHEN I MOVED THE SEAT BACK TO REMOVE AND CLEAN THE MAT, AND THEN MOVED IT BACK IN THE FORWARD NORMAL POSITION. WHEN I TURNED ON THE IGNITION THE LIGHT TURNED ON AND IS STILL ON CONTINUOUSLY. WHEN I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, I WAS TOLD THAT IT MAY NOT BE THE RECALL ISSUE AND THAT I MAY HAVE TO PAY FOR A DIAGOSTIC ON IT. ISN'T THIS STILL PART OF THE RECALL WITH THE SEAT SENSOR? THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON AND OFF FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
I OWN A 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA.WHILE MERGING INTO THE TRAFFIC. IT WAS RECENTLY INVOLVED IN A FRONT END COLLISION. THE CRASH WAS SO BAD THAT IT AFFECTED THE RADIATOR AND EVEN BROKE THE COOLANT RESERVOIR. THE MAIN FRAME OF THE CAR IS ALSO DAMAGED. EVEN AFTER THIS LEVEL OF SERIOUS CRASH, THE AIRBAGS STILL DIDN'T INFLATE. NO AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED. I SUFFERED SOME INJURIES. THIS BRINGS ME TO QUESTION THE SAFETY OF THIS CAR. MY MODEL WAS PREMIUM SPORTS PACKAGE WITH 3.3 V6 ENGINE.
THE "AIR BAG" WARNING LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS SUDDENLY STAYED ON AFTER THE ENGINE HAS BEEN STARTED. IT WILL NOT SHUT OFF AT ALL WHEN KEY IN IGNITION WHETHER THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR NOT.
AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON IN THE CAR. HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP IDENTIFIED IT AS A FREE RECALL AND THAT THE SEAT WOULD NEED TO BE SHIPPED OUT TO CALIFORNIA TO BE REPAIRED TO CORRECT OCS. THE SEAT WAS UNABLE TO BE SHIPPED OUT DUE TO THE LACK OF LOANER VEHICLE. SOMETIME LATER CHECKED BACK WITH DEALERSHIP ABOUT GETTING RECALL COMPLETED. NOW THERE IS NO ACTIVE RECALL ON THE PASSENGER SEAT OCS, AND DEALER DID NOT RECORD THE DIAGNOSIS ON THE VEHICLE AIRBAG SYSTEM. DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ANOTHER $130 TO READ CODES FOR WORK ALREADY COMPLETED. THE APPROX. ORIGINAL MILEAGE WAS 64000 WHEN DEALER ORIGINALLY DIAGNOSED.

WHEN I TURNED MY CAR ON I NOTICED CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND ALSO THE ESC BUTTON WAS ILLUMINATED ALSO. I TRIED TO GET OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT AND MY CAR WOULDN'T DRIVE MORE THEN 5 MILES AND HOUR. DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP AND CONTINUOUSLY FALLS DOWN TO DISTRACT MY VIEW WHILE DRIVING. IT DOES THIS WHETHER DRIVE AT LOW OR HIGH SPEEDS; AND ON SMOOTH ROADS.

THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V354000 (SUSPENSION), BUT THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,000.
ELECTRIC STABILIZATION RANDOMLY TURNS OFF ON ITS OWN AND WONT TURN BACK ON, THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT HAS NEVER COME ON, I'VE HAD 2 FLATS, AND SEVERAL REALLY LOW AIR TIRE MOMENTS; THIS HAPPENS REGULARLY. I THOUGHT IT WAS COVERED BY THE LAST RECALL BUT WHEN I GOT THE LAST ONE I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THE RECALL TAKEN CARE OF THEY SAID MY CAR WASN'T AFFECTED BY THE RECALL.
I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AT A RED LIGHT, WITH MY FOOT SECURELY ON THE BRAKE, WHEN MY CAR ENGINE REVVED, ACCELERATED ON IT'S OWN, AND THEN LUNGED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR DAMAGES BUT I AM ANXIOUS AND NERVOUS ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE HAPPENING AGAIN WITHOUT WARNING.
REAR CROSSMEMBER HEAVILY RUSTING, I AM TOLD BY MY MECHANIC IT WILL LEAD TO CONTROL ARM FAILURE AND LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE.
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AT 145,000 MILES. I WAS TOLD THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE ONLY COVERED BY THE BASIC WARRANTY, 5 YEARS/60,000 MILES. WHAT HAPPENED, SEATBELTS AND AIRBAGS WERE COVERED UNDER A SEPARATE WARRANTY FOR THE LIFETIME OF THE CAR.
TAKATA RECALL. MY 2006 HYUNDAI SONATA HAS NOT BEEN STARTING EVERYTIME. I'VE HAD IT TESTED ALONG WITH THE ALTERNATOR, BATTERY, FUSES, RELAYS, AND STARTER, EVERYTHING ELSE IS FINE. IT DOESN'T MATTER THE WEATHER OR WHAT YOU DO TO START IT ( WIGGLE THE SHIFTER, PLAY WITH THE LIGHTS, TURN IGNITION SLOWLY) IT STARTS SOMETIMES WITH NO PROBLEM AT ALL AND OTHERS IT WILL LEAVE ME WAITING ANYWHERE FROM 10 MINUTES TO AM HOUR.
AIRBAG LIGHT ON DASH IS ILLUMINATED AND THE CODE IS B1448 WHICH IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PASSENGER SENSOR MAT BEING DEFECTIVE. MY MAKE AND MODEL YEAR WAS ASSOCIATED WITH A RECALL THAT COVERED THIS SAFETY ISSUE BUT FOR SOME REASON MY SPECIFIC VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED, THEREFOR HYUNDAI WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIR FOR THEIR SAFETY PROBLEM.
