CAR WILL NOT CENTER ITSELF -IF YOU TURN WHEEL ONE QUARTER INCH TO LEFT IT WILL STAY THERE AND YOU HAVE TO BRING IT BACK TO CENTER SAME TO THE RIGHT -THE CAR IS VERY TIRING TO DRIVE THE CONSTANT CORRECTION OF THE VEHICLE TO MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT LINE IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN-THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON INTERNET AND HYUNDAI SAYS ITS THE ELECTRONIC STEERING -I HAVE DRIVEN MANY CARS WITH ELECTRONIC STEERING AND NONE THEM HAVE HAD THE WANDERING PROBLEM THE HYUNDAI DOES PLEASE CONTACT HYUNDAI ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE -THX. *TR
ON 6 OCCASIONS THE TPMS WARNING LIGHT HAS COME ON, ALL AT SPEEDS 75-80, ALL AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 2 HOURS. (TRIPS TO LA, TUCSON). THE TIRE PRESSURE CHECKED OUT OK WHEN I STOPPED EACH TIME. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES, BUT EACH TIME THEY COULD NOT FIND A TROUBLE CODE. THE HYUNDAI BLUELINK DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM HAS INDICATED A TROUBLE CONDITION SINCE THE BEGINNING, AND STILL INDICATES A TROUBLE CONDITION EVEN THOUGH THE DEALER HAS INDICATED IT HAS BEEN RESET ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION, AND WAS RESET AGAIN BY HYUNDAI USA ON 1/2/13. THE TPMS DOES NOT COME ON WHEN THE TIRES ARE COLD, AS ONE WOULD EXPECT. THE DEALER INDICATED THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND THE CAR SHOWS NO TROUBLE CODES. I HAVE CONTACTED HYUNDAI USA AND THEY INDICATE THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. BECAUSE OF ALL THE FALSE WARNINGS, I AM CONCERNED THAT I WILL NOT KNOW IF THERE IS A TRUE PROBLEM WITH MY TIRES OR JUST ANOTHER FALSE WARNING FROM THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT BUCKLES WERE TOO LOW TO REACH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD TO REACH DOWN BELOW THE CENTER CONSOLE TO REACH THE BUCKLE, MAKING IT HARDER TO SET OR RELEASE THE SEAT BELT. THE CONTACT ASKED THE MANUFACTURER FOR AN EXTENSION TO THE BUCKLE AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOT AN EXTENDER AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT COULD NOT BE RAISED ONCE IT WAS RECLINED, CAUSING THE PASSENGER TO SIT WITH THEIR FACE DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE AIR BAG COMPARTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,712. *TR
VEHICLE WANDERS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT ON FREEWAYS WHEN GOING OVER 60MPH. VEHICLE ALSO OVERCORRECTS WHEN STEERING. CURRENT MILEAGE 8,000. *TR
THE VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY HARD TO CONTROL (DRIFTING) AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS WHICH IS MORE THAN LIKELY CONTRIBUTING TO MY PREMATURE TIRE WEAR. I WAS TOLD THAT IT IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT HAS ELECTRONIC STEERING. I HAVE DRIVEN VEHICLES WITH ELECTRONIC STEERING BEFORE AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH MANEUVERABILITY PROBLEMS IN ANY OTHER VEHICLE LIKE I DO IN THE SONATA. I INQUIRED TO SEE IF SOMETHING IN THE COMPUTER COULD BE RESET TO DECREASE THE SENSITIVITY AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NOT. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
THIS IS AN UPDATE TO MY COMPLAINT FILED A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. JUST A HEADS UP FOR ALL OF YOU THAT DO NOT LIKE THE AWFUL STEERING SENSITIVITY OF THE 2013 SONATA GLS. I WAS ABLE TO GET MY DEALER TO CHANGE THE STEERING SENSITIVITY TO SPORT MODE WHICH THEY SAY WILL TIGHTEN IT UP. *TR
2013 HYUNDAI SONATA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO UNINTENDED ACCELERATION *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE TRAVELING IN CRUISE MODE AT A SET POSITION AT 55 MPH, HE FELT A MILD ACCELERATION AND NOTICED THE SPEEDOMETER MOVED FROM 55 MPH TO 58 MPH. ON OCTOBER 20, 2012, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN CRUISE MODE AT 48 MPH, THE CONSUMER SAFELY STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. WITH THE VEHICLE STILL IN CRUISE MODE, BUT NOT SET, HE TURNED LEFT AND SLOWLY ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. SUDDENLY, HE FELT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATE; AS HE LOOKED AT THE SPEEDOMETER, IT MOVED RAPIDLY FROM 45 MPH TO 55 MPH BEFORE HE HIT THE PARK BRAKE. ON OCTOBER 31 ,2012 THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION FOR THE THIRD TIME.
TL* HE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA GLS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS RELEASED, THE VEHICLE WOULD CONTINUE ACCELERATING, AS IF THE CONTACT WAS STILL DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BUT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE BUT WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE TO THE CONTACT DUE TO THE FAILURE NOT BEING ABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,950.
THERE IS AN ONGOING STEERING PROBLEM WHERE THE CAR DRIFTS DANGEROUSLY TO THE RIGHT. I NOTICED IT WITHIN THE FIRST FEW DAYS OF THE CAR PURCHASE. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD, THIS IS WITHIN "SPECS." THE DISTRICT SERVICE MANAGER REFUSED TO RIDE IN THE CAR WHILE I DROVE IT TO DEMONSTRATE THE ISSUE. *TR
WHILE GETTING ON THE ON-RAMP TO THE HIGHWAY, THE POWER STEERING FAILED, CAUSING ME TO ALMOST LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. STEERING WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO USE. THE EPS LIGHT AND SKID CONTROL LIGHTS BOTH CAME ON, AND LATER BLUELINK NOTED ERROR ALSO. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2013 SONATA LTD WITH STANDARD ENGINE 08/17/12. AFTER THE FIRST 300 MI OR SO I NOTICED WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED THE VEHICLE "DRIFTS", WHICH REQUIRES CONSTANT STEERING CORRECTION TO MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE FASTER THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING THE MORE PROMINENT THE DRIFTING, SO AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THIS CAN BECOME TIRING, WHICH COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL MOMENTARILY, WITH SEVERE CONSEQUENCES. THIS VEHICLE IS DESIGNED WITH ELECTRIC STEERING THAT FUNCTIONS NORMALLY FOR TURNING BUT THERE IS AN INHERENT DESIGN ERROR IN THE STEERING CONTROL THAT ALLOWS THERE TO BE PHYSICAL ?PLAY? IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS ?PLAY? IS SIMILAR TO AUTOS THAT HAVE MANY MILES ON THEM. THEY WOULD HAVE RACK TO PINION WEAR OR BAD STEERING BUSHINGS CAUSING A GAP IN THE STEERING MOVEMENT LEFT AND RIGHT FROM CENTER. THE SONATA'S ?GAP? ALSO OCCURS WHEN THE STEERING IS OFF CENTER DURING VEHICLE TURNING AND HAS TO BE PASSED THROUGH TO KEEP THE VEHICLE ON TRACK. THE GAP ON THE SONATA IS ABOUT 1/3?. THIS CAUSES THE "DRIFT". BY CONTRAST, I ALSO OWN A 2013 HYUNDAI ELANTRA WITH CONVENTIONAL POWER STEERING AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO PLAY IN THE WHEEL, THUS THE VEHICLE GOES EXACTLY WHERE POINTED WITHOUT DRIFT. IN VA. WHERE I LIVE, GIVEN A SCENARIO WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS OLDER AND GOING THROUGH A STANDARD ANNUAL INSPECTION, THIS STEERING ?PLAY? WOULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO BE REJECTED AS HAVING A SAFETY ISSUE, WHICH WOULD BE REQUIRED TO BE REPAIRED. THE NHTSA SHOULD WITHOUT DELAY REQUIRE HYUNDAI TO RECALL AND REPAIR THIS ISSUE BY REMOVING THE STEERING ?PLAY?. HOW MANY OWNERS DOES IT TAKE WHO ACTUALLY COMPLAIN BEFORE ACTION WILL BE TAKEN? I WOULD VENTURE A GUESS THAT THIS ISSUE AFFECTS EVERY SONATA OF THIS DESIGN. I NOTED THIS SAME PROBLEM BEING REPORTED IN PREVIOUS YEARS OF THIS DESIGN AFTER THE RECALL WITH SOME REPORTS DESCRIBING POTENTIAL ACCIDENTS. THAT'S A LOT OF CARS! *TR
(TODAY'S DATE: 13JULY2013)..MY 2013 SONATA LE STEERING TENDS TO WANDER ON THE ROAD. IT HAS SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN AUGUST 2012. THE DEALER SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG; THEY CAN'T REALLY NOTICE IT. YET I ALMOST CONSTANTLY NEED TO MAKE STEERING ADJUSTMENTS FOR SMALL UNCOMMANDED DIRECTIONAL CHANGES PARTICULARLY AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 35 AND 70 MPH (IT DRIVES BETTER AT 80 MPH). I SEEMS WORSE ON VARIOUS ROAD SURFACES (SMOOTH ASPHALT VS ROUGH/OIL AGGREGATE SURFACE VS CEMENT ETC.). I JUST RECENTLY BECAME AWARE THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR MANY 2013 SONATA OWNERS. IT ADDS TO DRIVER FATIGUE (TIRING) AND MAKES DRIVING MUCH LESS ENJOYABLE, AND EVEN SCARY, PARTICULARLY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. IF YOU BECOME DISTRACTED FOR EVEN JUST A MOMENT, YOU COULD MOVE INTO ANOTHER LANE (OR CAR). IN OTHER WORDS, YOU'RE CONSTANTLY COMPENSATING, IT'S LIKE YOUR DRIVING A MOTOR BOAT WHERE YOU'RE CONSTANTLY ADJUSTING THE STEERING WHEEL. ALSO, THE CAR HAS THE WORST TIRE NOISE OF ANY CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED. THE DEALER SAYS IT'S NORMAL FOR THIS CAR. *TR
PURCHASED 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA GLS AT STREETBORO OHIO HYUNDAI DEALER NEW IN MID JUNE 2012. VEHICLE SEEMED OK BUT AT ABOUT 1500 MILES IDLE BECAME ROUGH PARTICULARLY AT IDLE IN DRIVE AT LIGHTS AND STOPS. TOOK IN TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD AFTER 4 DAYS IN SHOP THAT PROBLEM WAS FAMILIAR TO THE DEALER AND AN ENGINEER WAS BEING CALLED IN TO FIGURE OUT THE SOLUTION AS NO CODES WERE STORED IN COMPUTER.I LEFT THE DEALER AFTER BEING TOLD CAR IS WITHIN HYUNDAI SPECS BUT WAS RUNNING STRANGE. THE DEALER SEEMS TO BE AVOIDING DOING ANYTHING TO ADMIT THERE IS A ISSUE AND REFUSED TO ALLOW A SERVICE TECH TO RIDE ALONG WITH ME TO EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM. THEY ALSO REFUSED TO LET MY SALESMAN GO IN A NEWER MODEL WITH ME TO SEE IF ANY OTHER VEHICLES HAD SAME ISSUES.I WROTE TO HYUNDAI CORPORATE AND WAS GIVEN A LIST OF OTHER DEALERS TO GO TO.AS THE PROBLEM HAS BEGUN TO GET WORSE THE IDLE WILL NOW REV AND THEN DECELERATE THE VEHICLE WHEN COASTING AND I CAN IMAGINE WHAT THIS BRAKING ACTION WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO DO AS THE WEATHER BECOMES WORSE AND SNOW APPEARS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A GROWING PROBLEM WITH THE HYUNDAI MODELS FROM THE RECENT HYUNDAI FORUMS POSTS. *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, CAR DRIFTS EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT. THE CAR NEVER STAYS ON COURSE. WHEN IT DRIFTS LEFT AND YOU TRY TO CORRECT IT, IT GOES RIGHT, WHICH REQUIRES CORRECTING AGAIN. IT IS A CONSTANT BATTLE ON THE ROAD, AND AT LEAST 4 DIFFERENT TIMES, WE HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN A ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER CAR DO TO THIS. THE CAR EITHER GOES LEFT OR RIGHT, NEVER GOES STRAIGHT. I TRY MY BEST TO HOLD IT STRAIGHT BY HOLDING THE STEERING WHEEL FIRM TO TEST IT, BUT IT DOES NOT MATTER. THIS ISSUE SERIOUSLY SCARES US. WE ACTUALLY JUST KEEP THE VEHICLE PARKED MOST OF THE TIME, AND DRIVE OUR OLDER VEHICLE. OUR HYUNDAI ON HAS ABOUT 7K ON THE ODOMETER. WHEN I HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL STRAIGHT, I CAN COUNT TO 6 SECONDS BEFORE THE CAR IS ALMOST COMPLETELY IN ANOTHER LANE. ONE TIME, I COUNTED TO 7 AND THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY OFF THE ROAD ON THE EMERGENCY LANE. HYUNDAI NEEDS TO FIX THIS. THIS IS SERIOUSLY A VERY BAD ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID ITS BECAUSE IT HAS ELECTRIC STEERING AND TOLD US WE SHOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THE CAR IF WE DIDN'T LIKE HOW IT DRIVES AND THEN SENT US ON OUR WAY. I JUST HOPE MORE PEOPLE WITH THIS PROBLEM COME FORWARD AND VOICE THEIR ISSUE SO HYUNDAI WILL ACTUALLY ADDRESS IT. ITS FUNNY HOW HYUNDAI SAYS THAT IT IS WHAT IT IS, WHEN THIS IS THE SAME THING HYUNDAI HAD A MAJOR RECALL ON PREVIOUS MODEL YEAR SONATAS W/ 18" WHEELS, WHICH OURS HAS. *TR
A LADY WITH A BRAND NEW 2013 SONATA TURNED OFF HER CAR IN A PARKING LOT WITHOUT PUTTING THE TRANSMISSION INTO PARK. WHILE SHE WAS NOT LOOKING AND DOING SOMETHING ELSE, THE CAR BEGAN TO ROLL FORWARD AND EVENTUALLY CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF MY BRAND NEW CAR. THERE WAS NO ELECTRONIC WARNING THAT SHE NEEDED TO SHIFT INTO PARK! *TR
I PURCHASED BRAND NEW 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED IN AUGUST'12. AFTER BUYING WHEN I WAS RIDING BACK HOME ON FREEWAY(APPROX SPEED 60 MPH) THE CAR TENDS TO DRIFT IN EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT AND KEEP ON WANDERING IN THE LANE. IT IS PRETTY DIFFICULT TO KEEP THE VEHICLE IN THE LANE. THERE ARE ALMOST TWO INCIDENTS WHERE I JUST ESCAPED THE ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER THEY TOLD THAT IT IS BECAUSE OF BANKING ON THE ROADS BUT I TESTED THE SAME ROAD AND ROUTE WITH OTHER VEHICLE WHICH PERFORMED AS IT SHOULD BE, NO DRIFT OR ANYTHING. EVEN THE TIRE PRESSURE AND WHEEL BALANCING IS FINE SO THIS IS DEFINITELY A ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRONIC STEERING AND STABILITY. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER AS IT COULD BE LIFE THREATENING AND MOST OF THE CONSUMERS ARE FACING IT WITH NO RESPONSE FROM THE COMPANY. THANKS. *TR
THERE HAS BEEN AN UNIDENTIFIABLE CLICK IN THE STEERING SINCE PURCHASED NEW. MAKES HORRIBLE NOISES NOW WHEN DRIVING AND WHEN HITTING SLIGHTEST BUMPS IN ROAD. THIS APPEARS TO BE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL. OUR REPAIR SHOP DIDN'T WANT TO WORK ON IT AND SAID THEY THOUGHT IT WAS A RECALL, BUT I CANNOT FIND ONE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE!
THIS CAR HAS A DISTURBING REFLECTION OF THE TOP DECK OF DASHBOARD ON THE WINDSHIELD..IT INTERFERES WITH CONCENTRATION....CAR WAS PURCHASED 7/19/12 IN SEARCHING THE INTERNET I HAVE FOUND COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE WITH OTHER HYUNDAI SONATAS....... *TR

THE CONTACT CORRECTED THE STEERING WHEEL AND IT THEN PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SONTATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 65 MPH THE VEHICLE VEERS TO THE LEFT. WHILE TRYING TO CORRECT THE TRAJECTORY THE VEHICLE THEN VEERS TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S DESTINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH MY 2013 SONATA. FIRST THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE. DEALER REPLACED, NO ISSUES. HAPPENED A SECOND TIME, REPLACED AGAIN. MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 3 OR 4 TIMES EACH AND TAIL LIGHTS TWICE. BIGGEST ISSUE HAS BEEN THE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE - IT DOES NOT LOCK USING THE FOB OR THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BUTTON. DEALER AT FIRST TRIED TO TELL ME I WAS NUTS, IN A VERY CONDESCENDING MANNER, AND THEN HE EXPERIENCED IT. THE TRANSPONDER IN THE DOOR LOCK HAS BEEN REPLACED 5 TIMES. THE LAST TIME, THEY HAD TO CALL JAPAN HYUNDAI AND TROUBLESHOOT THE ISSUE. THEY HAD MY CAR FOR A WEEK BEFORE THEY DETERMINED THAT THE ACTUATOR WAS SHORTING OUT THE LOCK TRANSPONDER, SO THEY REPLACED THAT AND IT WORKED THE LONGEST IT EVER HAS, PROBABLY ABOUT 6 MONTHS. NOW HOWEVER THE SAME LOCK DOES NOT LOCK USING THE FOB OR HANDLE LOCK AND IT HAS BEEN JOINED INTERMITTENTLY BY THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. I LOCK THE CAR USING THE FOB/EXTERIOR LOCK BUTTON/INTERIOR LOCK BUTTON, AND THEN HAVE TO OPEN THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR AND MANUALLY LOCK IT. I ALSO CHECK THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR, BECAUSE SOMETIMES IT LOCKS AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. THE THOUGHT OF HAVING TO GO BACK TO THE DEALER WITH THIS MAKES MY STOMACH CHURN. NOW MY CAR HAS STARTED TO HAVE A PERSISTENT METALLIC TICKING/TAPPING NOISE THAT GETS WORSE WHEN I IDLE. THEN IT IS MORE OF A KNOCK. I HAVE RECEIVED WARRANTY EXTENSION INFORMATION AND ALSO THE CLASS ACTION NOTICE RELATED TO SUDDEN ENGINE SEIZURE AND I AM AFRAID THAT IS WHAT IS NEXT BECAUSE ALL THE NOTICES AND COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ SAY IT STARTS WITH ENGINE KNOCK AND THEN THE ENGINE SEIZES. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND LEFT MESSAGES 3 TIMES AND NO ONE EVER CALLS ME BACK. I'M GUESSING IT'S BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHAT'S COMING. MY CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 57K MILES AND I BOUGHT IT NEW IN MAY 2012.
STEERING WANDERS AT ALL SPEEDS, WORSE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. NOTICED AFTER PURCHASE AND TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER 3 SEPARATE TIMES, AND THEY TRIED TO ADJUST, CHANGE TIRES, CHECKED TIRES AND ALIGNMENT AND THE ISSUE STILL WASN'T RESOLVED. TOOK THE CAR TO FLORIDA, 1600 MILES, ON OCT. 2012 AND THE STEERING WAS STILL BAD. TOOK CAR TO DEALER IN FLORIDA AND THEY SAID THAT IS THE WAY IT IS AND DENIED THAT THERE WAS ANY PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING. I NOW HAVE 20000 MILES AND THE WANDERING STEERING IS TERRIBLE AND I AM VERY UNSATISFIED WITH THE CAR. *TR
STEERING FEEL IS EXTREMELY LIGHT/LOOSE, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. VEHICLE WANDERS ENOUGH FROM LEFT TO RIGHT TO REQUIRE CONSTANT CORRECTION TO KEEP IT FROM GOING OVER CENTER LINE OR OFF SIDE OF ROAD. IF I ADJUST STEERING TO LEFT VEHICLE CONTINUES TO LEFT REQUIRING AN IMMEDIATE ADJUSTMENT TO RIGHT WHICH CAUSES VEHICLE TO CONTINUE TO RIGHT AND THEN TO LEFT AND THEN RIGHT...I AM CONSTANTLY FIGHTING WITH THE STEERING TO STAY IN MY LANE. CONCERNED ABOUT OUR SAFETY WHILE DRIVING THIS BRAND NEW VEHICLE. *TT
TPMS LIGHT HAS CAME ON NUMEROUS TIMES AND HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM 7 TIMES.THE TIRE SENSOR WAS REPLACED TWICE AND THE MODULE WAS REPLACED ON THE NEXT TO LAST TIME AT THE DEALER. AFTER THE MODULE WAS REPLACED THE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON FOR 1400 MILES. THE DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT CONTACTED THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND DECIDED TO MOVE THE MODULE TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. EACH TIME THE DEALER CHECKED AND IT WAS REPORTED TO BE THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. I HAD THEM TO ROTATE THE RIGHT REAR TIRE TO THE RIGHT FRONT AND THE RIGHT FRONT TO THE RIGHT REAR. THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND IT ALSO POINTED TO THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AS I WAS ALMOST HIT THE LAST TIME WHEN I WAS OFF THE ROAD AND CHECKING THE TIRES AFTER THE LIGHT CAME ON. HYUNDAI TRIES TO BLAME ELECTRICAL INTERFERENCE FOR THE PROBLEM. I HAVE OWNED MANY OTHER MANUFACTURERS VEHICLES SINCE THE TPMS SYSTEM WAS MADE MANDATORY AND NEVER HAD A THE LIGHT TO COME ON UNLESS THE TIRE HAD LOST PRESSURE. *TR
STEERING WANDERS, MAKE A SLIGHT CORRECTION TO THE RIGHT CAR CONTINUES RIGHT , SLIGHT CORRECTION LEFT CAR CONTINUES LEFT DOES NOT RETURN TO CENTER. EVEN WITH A ROAD THAT TILTS TO THE LEFT, IF YOU MAKE A SLIGHT CORRECTION TO THE RIGHT, THE CAR CONTINUES TO BEAR TO THE RIGHT. SAME THING HAPPENS WITH A ROAD THAT TILTS TO THE RIGHT, SLIGHT CORRECTION TO THE LEFT AND THE CAR CONTINUES LEFT. BASICALLY, THE EFFECT IS GOING DONE A STRAIGHT LEVEL ROAD THE CAR WANDERS LEFT AND RIGHT AND NEVER RETURNS TO CENTER. HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS. *TR
