ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING
WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR, IT STALLED ON ITS OWN. IT'S BEEN RUNNING VERY SLUGGISH - ALWAYS KEEP UP WITH OIL CHANGES. I SEE OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND IT'S VERY TROUBLESOME THAT WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS HYUNDAI IS HAVING WITH ENGINES, I DON'T FEEL SAFE ANYMORE DRIVING THIS CAR.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY AT 92K MILES, THEN THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING NOISES INTERMITTENTLY, AND THEN THE VEHICLE WAS SLOW TO ACCELERATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE KNOCK SENSOR SOFTWARE UPGRADE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN INSTALLED. THE SYNTHETIC OIL HAD BEEN CHANGED AT 82K AND 86K. SOUTH POINT HYUNDAI CHANGED THE OIL, REPLACED THE BATTERY AND TURBOCHARGER AT 92381 MILES. AROUND 93246 MILES THE INTERMITTENT ENGINE NOISES AND INTERMITTENT NO ACCELERATION AND SLOW ACCELERATION ARE BACK, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ILLUMINATING. RETURNED MY SONATA TO SOUTH POINT HYUNDAI WHO REPORTS THE ENGINE IS BAD, BUT THERE ARE NO DIAGNOSTIC ERROR CODES, AND THEY ARE WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM HYUNDAI ON HOW TO PROCEED. HENCE, THE KNOCK SENSOR SOFTWARE UPDATE IS NOT A CORRECTIVE ACTION FOR DETECTING ENGINE FAILURE, ALERTING DRIVERS TO ENGINE FAILURE. THE KNOCK SENSOR SOFTWARE UPDATE IS NOT AN EFFECTIVE SCREEN FOR ENGINE DEFECTS. THE ENGINE NOISES OCCUR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY, IN MOTION, ON A CITY STREET, AND ON A HIGHWAY.
LOW-PRESSURE FUEL IM ASSUMING THAT CRACK AND BEGIN THE LEAK FUEL. HEAT GENERATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT LEAD TO THE CRACK AND ALLOW FUEL TO LEAK AND LEAD TO MY CAR BLOWING UP FLAMES
THE HEADLAMP SWITCH APPEARS TO HAVE A MALFUNCTION. TOUCHING IT TO TURN ON THE BLINKER OR THE BRIGHT LIGHTS CAN CAUSE THE HEADLIGHTS AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS TO FLICKER.
WITH A ODOMETER READING OF JUST UNDER 135000 MILES A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WITH A MESSAGE THAT THE HYBRID BATTERY WAS NOT BEING CHARGED AND THEN THE ENGINE DEVELOPED A SERIOUS KNOCKING SOUND. WE PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. AFTER HAVING THE CAR TOWED TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP WE FOUND OUT THAT METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL MEANT THAT WE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE
SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING THE CAR JOLTS BACK AND THEN THE GEAR INDICATOR DISAPPEARS ON THE GEAR SHIFT AND THE LETTER DISAPPEARS FROM THE SPOT BENEATH THE SPEEDOMETER. WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND LET OFF THE BRAKE THE CAR STAYS STILL AND WHEN I ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE THE CAR STRUGGLES TO SHIFT GEARS. ALSO IF THIS OCCURS REPEATEDLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON. I'VE TOLD MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS AND CARMAX ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT EVERY DIAGNOSTIC TEST SAVE FOR ONE NEVER REPORTS THE PROBLEM AND IT SERIOUSLY IMPEDES MY MOBILITY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER DOWNEY HYUNDAI LOCATED AT 7550 FIRESTONE BLVD, DOWNEY, CA 90241, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO ASSISTANCE OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
MY VEHICLE STRUCK ANOTHER VEHICLE STRAIGHT-ON, BROADSIDE IN A "T-BONE" ACCIDENT AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON A TWO-LANE, 45 MPH ROADWAY ON A CLEAR, DRY, SUNNY DAY WITH NO TIME TO APPLY MY BRAKES AND NEITHER THE STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG NOR THE DRIVER'S SIDE SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE SPEED OF THE OTHER VEHICLE THEN CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO BE DRAGGED ACROSS THE ONCOMING LANE AND UP A FIVE FOOT EMBANKMENT. ONLY THE PASSENGER'S SIDE SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED ON IMPACT. THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG LATER DEPLOYED WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS BEING TOWED. MY VEHICLE IS A TOTAL LOSS. THE OTHER VEHICLE'S TWO DRIVER'S SIDE DOORS WERE PUSHED IN PAST THE FRAME OF THE CAR. THE AIR BAG RECALL FOR MY YEAR ALLEGEDLY DOESN'T APPLY TO MY VIN.*DT*DT*DT*JB*JB

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOOSE AUTOMOTIVE POWER. MOMENTS LATER SMOKE AND FLAMES WERE PRESENT COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. WATER WAS USED TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER (FIVE STAR HYUNDAI 650 RUSSELL PKWY, WARNER ROBINS, GA 31088) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT YET CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. INVALID VIN.
STEERING COLUMN FEELS TO HAVE PLAY WHEN I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT DIRECTION
STARTED CAR KNOCKING NOISE SOUNDED LIKE COMING FROM NEAR STEERING WHEEL AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION COMING FROM AIR CONDITION. DID IT FOR 15 SECONDS AND THEN STOPPED. IF THE DEFROST IS ON IS WHEN IT MAKES THE KNOCKING NOISE AND THE LEVEL IS ON 3. IT WAS ONLY MAKING THE NOISE WHEN I STARTED THE CAR BUT NOW IF I CHANGE TO THE AC OR HEAT IT STARTS THE KNOCKING NOISE.
IN PARK AFTER CAR HAS SAT OVER NIGHT OR FOR 24 OR MORE HOURS, THE CAR WILL START BUT WILL NOT MOVE INTO GEAR THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON IT I HAVE HAD REGULAR OIL CHANGES. I AM AFRAID TO GO VERY FAR FOR FEAR I WON'T BE ABLE TO START THE CAR AND GET HOME. MY DRIVEWAY IS GRAVEL AND A LITTLE BIT OF AN INCLINE. TODAY WAS THE 3RD TIME IN THIS WEEK.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. AN UNKNOWN DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I SENT YOU AN EMAIL REGARDING THE PROBLEM. YOU WANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. BUT DIDN'T SAY WHAT ADDITION INFORMATION. BOTTOM LINE IS I HAD BRAKES PUT ON IN MAY 2020 ON MY 2014 HYUNDAI, THEY DIDN'T FEEL RIT., TOOK CAR BACK, TEST RIDE, SEEMED OK. THESE BRAKES WERE MANUFACTURED BY WAGNER BRAKES.; .FOR A FEW WEEKS WHEN I PRESSED ON BRAKES THERE WAS A SQUEAL, WHILE CAR WAS MOVING, AND LATELY SOUNDED LIKE STEEL ON STEEL. WHILE CARE WAS MOVING TOOK CAR BACK TO JTIRES PLUS, BRAKES WERE DEFECTIVE, THEY REPLACED THEM WITH DURALAST GOLD BRAKES. I'D LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS AGAINST WAGNER BRAKES, AND I'D LIKE A FULL INVESTIGATION OF THESE BRAKES. THE OTHER ISSUE IS THE RECALL ON MY 2014 SONATA POWER TRAIN/GEAR SHIFT; CAMPAIGN # 123. THIS WAS COMPLETED IN 2017; HOWEVER, SOME MONTHS AGO ONCE THE GEAR SHIFT WAS IN PART WITH MOTOR OFF, AND I TURNED ON THE MOTOR THE SHIFT WOULD NOT MOVE FROM THE PARK POSITION. I HAD TO WORK WITH IT A WHILE; SOMETIMES AFTER A WHILE I WOULD PUT THE KEY. NEXT TO THE SHIFT COMPARTMENT AND I COULD SHIFT THE GEAR. I'D LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SHIFT GEAR AND HOW TO HAVE A SECOND RECALL ON CAMPAIGN 123. THE OTHER PROBLEM IS SOMETIMES WHEN I PUT ON THE E BRAKE, IT SEEMS LIKE THE CAR WOULD TAKE TOO LONG TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE OTHER DAY AFTER BEING PARKED, I TURNED ON THE ENGINE, PUT THE GEAR IN REVERSE, BUT IT CONTINUED TO GO FORWARD. I HAD TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTART IT AND THEN PUT IT IN REVERSE BEFORE IT REVERSED. I'D LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU'VE RECEIVED COMPLAINTS LIKE THIS AND I AM REQUESTING THAT MY CAR BE TESTED FOR THE AFOREMENTIONED PROBLEMS FREE OF CHARGE DUE TO ALL OF THE RECALLS HYUNDAI HAS HAD IN THE PAST. IN ALL OF THE SITUATIONS ABOVE THE CAR WAS ON CITY STREETS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE REVERSING, I WAS PARKED IN A FAST FOOD PARKING LOT. *JS
LIGHTS GO ON & OFF WHEN USING TURN SIGNALS OR DIMMING LIGHTS. AFTER ABOUT 30 DAYS LIGHTS QUIT WORKING ALL TOGETHER. IF I PULL TURN SIGNAL TOWARD DRIVER AND HOLD IT LIGHTS COME ON ANBUT ONCE IT IS LET GO ALL LIGHTS ARE OUT AGAIN.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, MY CAR LOST CONTROL MY BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING. ONLY WAY TO MAKE THE CAR STOP WAS TO THROW THE CAR INTO PARK. AFTER STOPPING MY DASHBOARD LIGHTS CAME ON, THE CAR STAYED ON AND KEY COULDN'T TURN
MY CAR HAS 89891 MILES AND WHILE DRIVING FROM WORK MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. AN HOUR AWAY FROM HOME AND I WAS STRANDED FOR 7 HRS UNTIL I COULD FIND SOMEONE TO TOW/TAKE ME HOME.

DASHBOARD IS CRACKED BEAR AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. AFRAID THAT IT MIGHT BURST. RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM WAS DONE IN 2012 BUT NOW HYUNDAI WILL NOT RECALL. NOT COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY
WHILE DRIVING AND PARKED THE HEADLIGHTS WILL TURN OFF WHEN THE LEFT BLINKER IS USED. HEADLIGHTS WILL ALSO FLICKER AND THEN THE HIGH BEAMS WILL TURN ON RANDOMLY. OTHER TIMES THE LIGHTS WILL COMPLETELY TURN OFF INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CAR. SINCE THIS STARTED MY BATTERY HAS DRAINED ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS REQUIRING ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE.
EXPERIENCED SLIGHT HESITATION UPON NORMAL GO STOP DRIVING RURAL AND CITY ROADS. SERVICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 20V121000 NUMBER:189 PERFORMED AT OBRIEN HYUNDAI, FT. MYERS FL, 7 AUG 20. TECH SHOWED ME A BLUE STRIP WHICH HE CLAIMED WAS USED TO DETECT PRESENCE OF A GASOLINE LEAK WHEN APPLIED TO SUSPECTED ORIGINAL GASOLINE TUBE, CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 189. TECH THEN MENTIONED THAT RESULT DISPLAYED NO APPARENT LEAK AT PRESENT TIME, BUT COULD NOT GUARANTEE OR RULE OUT A FUTURE LEAK. PROCESS IS TO BE PERFORMED AT SERVICE INTERVALS AS PART OF REGULAR MULTIPOINT INSPECTION TO RULE OUT EXISTENCE OF POSSIBLE LEAK OF ORIGINAL INSTALLED AND NEVER REPLACED CAMPAIGN PART TO SAFE GUARD LIFE OF DRIVER AND PASSENGERS OF POTENTIALLY ORIGINAL DEFECTIVE FUEL TUBE, 2014 HYUNDAI SONATA 2.0T.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, APX 70MPH, OCCASIONALLY MY 2014 SONATA GLS WILL COMPLETELY DIE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 10 TIMES NOT IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS, ALWAYS WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION USUALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE DASH LIGHTS ALL GO BLACK, RADIO CUTS OFF, AND ENGINE DIES, FOR APX 2-3 SECONDS, AND THEN USUALLY TURNS ITSELF BACK ON LIKE IT NEVER DIED. OCCASIONALLY THOUGH THE CAR WILL NOT TURN ITSELF BACK ON. WHEN IT DIES, THE STEERING ALSO BECOMES VERY STIFF AND THE BRAKES ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO USE. MY CAR HAS ONLY 112XXX MILES AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON OR ANY CODES STORED WHEN CHECKED. I'VE CONTACTED HYUNDAI SERVICE CENTER MULTIPLE TIMES. EACH TIME THEY TELL ME THAT THEY CAN'T HELP ME, THERE ARE NO RECALLS AND I SHOULD 'CHECK MY BATTERY CONNECTIONS'. I HAVE, THEY ARE ALL FINE. I'M VERY CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY THREE CHILDREN. THREE MECHANICS NOW HAVE CHECKED OUT THE CAR AND THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND ANY PROBLEMS.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CAME TO HER RESIDENCE AND COMPLETED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND INFORMED HER THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V226000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY SONATA AN ERROR APPEARED ON MY DASHBOARD STATING 'HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING! SAFELY STOP AND DO NOT DRIVE. CHECK BRAKES." WHEN THIS OCCURS THE GAS PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKES GRINDS MY TIRES. U CAN HEAR A LOUD CHIMING LIKE SOUND COMING FROM THE CAR. I'M READING THIS ISSUE WITH A NUMBER OF SONATA HYBRID.

THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V121000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
THE TAIL LIGHTS ARE FAILING ON MY HYUNDAI. HYUNDAI IS VERY WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND THERE IS SEVERAL ONLINE ACCOUNTS OF IT FROM OTHER OWNERS. THE TAIL LIGHTS FLICKER ON AND OFF RAPIDLY LIKE A HAZARD LIGHT. THIS OCCURS DURING THE DAYTIME WITH THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS AND MOST ESPECIALLY DURING THE NIGHT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. HYUNDAI HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE ISSUE AND REFUSED TO REPLACE THEM DESPITE THE SAFETY HAZARD, CITING THE AGE AND MILEAGE OF MY CAR. HOWEVER, AT THE SAME TIME THE INSTALLED A NEW ENGINE IN THE SAME CAR WITH THE SAME AGE AND MILEAGE.
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE ENGINE STOPPED AND CAR WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY. THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE NOW. IT SEEMS TO BE USING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRIDE HYUNDAI (777 LYNNWAY, LYNN, MA 01905: (833) 281-9379) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AN EVAPORATION LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NEXT TAKEN TO BILL DUBE HYUNDAI (271 MAIN ST, WILMINGTON, MA 01887, (978) 253-4691) AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AN EVAPORATION LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 58,000.
I HAD TOOK THE CAR TO DODGE CITY KS TO GET THE RECALL FIXED FOR THE ENGINE AND THEY SAID THEY CHANGED THE RODS THAT WHERE DEFECTIVE AND AS I WAS DRIVING THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING A CLICKING NOISE AND DOES NOT WANT TO DRIVE, SHAKES AS I CAN TELL NOTHING WAS FIXED THAN I JUST GOT ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE FUEL TUBE. *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT MY HEADLIGHTS SOME TIMES FLICKER LIKE FROM HIGH BEAMS TO LOW. THIS IS BAD ENOUGH, BUT WHEN THEY GO COMPLETELY OUT ON 2 LANE HIGHWAYS AT MIDNIGHT IT IS HEART STOPPING. HAVE LEARNED IT MIGHT BE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH ( TURN SIGNAL SWITCH). TO BE REPAIRED AT MY EXPENSE EVEN THOUGH THERE HAS BEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS ISSUE. REP FROM HYUNDAI TOLD ME HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM EVEN AS DEALER MECHANICS SAYS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME.. MAYBE ANOTHER CLASS ACTION WOULD GET THEIR ATTENTION BEFORE SOME IS KILLED.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT ABOUT 50 MPH WHEN MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. ALL THE DASH INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. I TRIED TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. WHILE DRIVING 65 ON THE FREEWAY I HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND..I THOUGHT IT WAS A GUN SHOT OR TIRE EXPLODING, THEN I NOTICED THE SUNROOF SOUNDED OPEN SO I HIT THE CLOSE BUTTON & NOTHING, SO I OPENED IT TO TRY TO RE-CLOSE & ONCE OPEN I NOTICED THE SUNROOF GLASS HAD SHATTERED AND THE GLASS WAS FALLING ON ME, CUTTING MY ARMS AND FACE, GLASS EVERYWHERE IN MY CAR,GETTING IN MY FINGERS WHILE TRYING TO GET IT OFF ME. HYUNDAI INSTALLED A SOFTWARE UPDATE ON OUR 2014 SONATA DUE TO ENGINE FIRES ABOUT A YEAR AGO. THIS SOFTWARE UPDATE RESULTED IN THE CAR GOING INTO WHAT IS CALLED " LIMP MODE" AND THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT COMING ON WHICH RESULTS IN THE CAR LOSING ACCELERATION AND NOT BEING ABLE TO CLIMB HILLS. THIS OCCURRED WHEN THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH. ONCE THE CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE IT WOULD BARELY GO UP HILLS AND PRESENTED A HAZARD ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME MY CAR WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN ENGINE OR DRIVE TRAIN AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT TOW THE CAR INTO THEIR SHOP. THEY ALSO TOLD ME I SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL SHOP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A P1326, WHICH I HAD TO PAY FOR OUT OF MY POCKET. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE MOTOR AND IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. I THEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY AGREED TO TOW THE CAR TO THEIR DEALERSHIP. AFTER THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM THEY INFORMED ME THE SOFTWARE SYSTEM DETECTED A NOISE IN THE ENGINE AND WENT INTO LIMP MODE TO PROTECT THE ENGINE. THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND THAT THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT AND LIMP MODE WERE A FALSE POSITIVE DUE TO THE SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT WAS INSTALLED. WHEN I POINTED OUT THE INCONVENIENCE THIS HAD CAUSED ME I WAS TOLD THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AND I WOULD HAVE TO GET USED TO IT OR SELL THE CAR. I ONLY HAVE 64,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND I NO LONGER HAVE ANY CONFIDENCE IN THIS VEHICLE TO COMMUTE LONG DISTANCES. THE ISSUE WITH THESE FALSE POSITIVES AND THE LIMP MODE NEEDS TO BE ELIMINATED.

WITHIN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS, THE CAR HAS SHUT OFF WHILE STOPPED THREE TIMES. THE FIRST TIME, I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WHEN EVERYTHING JUST SHUT OFF ON ME. TOOK THE CAR TO FIRESTONE LATER THAT WEEK TO GET IT LOOKED AT AND THEY THOUGHT IT WAS SOMETHING WITH THE BATTERY SO THEY REPLACED IT. THE SECOND TIME HAPPENED EARLIER THIS WEEK. AGAIN, I WAS STOPPED FURTHER BACK FROM A RED LIGHT IN TRAFFIC WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF. I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE IN A 55 MPH SPEED ZONE AND THE CAR HAD SHUT OFF RIGHT HAS TRAFFIC AHEAD OF ME BEGAN TO CLEAR AND I WAS ABOUT TO MOVE. BOTH TIMES, THE CAR TURNED BACK ON AFTER PLACING THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND TURNING THE KEY. NEITHER TIME DID THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON BEFORE OR AFTER. THE THIRD TIME WAS YESTERDAY. I WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT. A FEW SECONDS AFTER I HAD TURNED ON THE AC, THE CAR TURNED OFF.
