Following erratic behavior of cruise control 1. not setting cruise. 2. Sometime after after setting cruise, it had accelerated many time ( not pressed on gas pedal) on its own...end up putting the brake. Cruise Cancel button did not work. 3. Cruise did not get set with set button... sometimes it gets set when pressing cancel button.

HE SEAT BELT FAILS TO PROPERLY LATCH WHEN THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE TONGUE IS INSERTED INTO THE BUCKLE ON THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY WITH THE ENGINE OFF.

DRIVERS SIDE BRAKE LIGHT BULB EXPLODED, AND MELTED INTO THE SOCKET. I WAS ADVISED THAT YOU CANNOT REPLACE JUST THE SOCKET AND HYUNDAI IS QUOTING $400 FOR THE ENTIRE WIRING HARNESS. THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD AND CAUSES AN ADDITIONAL SAFETY HAZARD WITH THE LOSS OF THE BRAKE LIGHT
SUN ROOF SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING. NOTHING HIT THE SUNROOF TO CAUSE THIS.
I AM CONSTANTLY HAVING TO HAVE MY BRAKE LIGHTS AND HEAD LIGHTS REPLACED. THEY ARE BLOWING EVERY 2-3 MONTHS. I HAVE HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT THE WIRING AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NO CORROSION. I AM UNSURE WHY I AM REPLACING BULBS EVERY FEW MONTHS
MY ENGINE WAS REPLACED LAST YEAR BECAUSE OF A RECALL. SINCE THEN PROGRESSIVELY I'VE BEEN NOTICING MY HEAD LIGHTS WILL TURN THEMSELVES ON AND OFF AT WILL. AT TIMES ALSO THE INTERIOR DASH LIGHTS WILL DO THE SAME. WHERE I WILL HAVE TO JIGGLE THE NOB TO TURN THEM BACK ON AGAIN. IF I HAPPENED TO RUN OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD THE FLICKERS WORSEN. WITH EVERYTHING SHUTTING DOWN EARLY LAST YEAR I WASN'T DRIVING OFTEN WHEN THE SUN WAS DOWN BUT NOW THAT I AM THIS ISSUE ISN'T RESOLVING ITSELF.
The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while attempting to replace the rear taillight blubs, she had noticed that the bulbs had melted into the connectors which results in loss of rear taillight use. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing a taillight wiring harness replaced but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.

MY 2014 HYUNDAI SONATA GLS WHINES WHEN ACCELERATING, AND MY STEERING WHEEL CLICKS WHEN TURNING RIGHT AND LEFT. THE CLICKING HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS; I NOTICED THE WHINING ON 01/10/2020. THE WHINING ONLY OCCURS WHEN IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS AND FREEWAY/HIGHWAY; NOT WHEN BRAKING OR WHEN STARTING UP OR TURNING OFF.
THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT BULBS LOCATED IN THE TRUNK COMPARTMENT GET EXTREMELY HOT WHICH HAS CAUSED MELTING OF THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. THIS IS AN EXTREME FIRE HAZARD. IT IS BELIEVED THAT THIS IS CAUSED BY FAULTY WIRING BY HYUNDAI. SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN 2015, I HAVE REPLACED APPROXIMATELY 20 BULBS.
THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT BULBS LOCATED IN THE TRUNK GET EXTREMELY HOT AND MELT THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS AT LEAST 3 TIMES PER YEAR (APPROXIMATELY 30 BULBS) SINCE PURCHASING THIS CAR IN AUGUST 2015. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE REASON IS FAULTY WIRING BY HYUNDAI. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE I AM CONCERNED THAT THE BULBS MAY AT SOME POINT REACH EXTREMELY HIGH TEMPERATURES AND DO MORE DAMAGE THAN JUST MELTING THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY.
THE (MIL) MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND MY CAR JUST SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING WHEN I PULLED UP TO A STOP SIGN, WHEN I BRAKED FOR STOP SIGN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN,WHILE DRIVING, LEAVING WALMART SHOPPING CENTER. I CHECKED THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND FOUND THAT THE (MIL)MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION
UNKNOWN: EXPERIENCING A GAS LEAK SMELL WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN IDLE MODE. UNKNOWN: EXPERIENCING ROUGH IDLE COMING FROM THE ENGINE THAT'S INTERMITTENT.
WHEN I TURN MY STEERING WHEEL EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT THERE IS A KNOCKING/CLUNKING IN THE STEERING COLUMN. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. ALSO, WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND I DRIVE OVER A ROUGH SPOT OR DIP IN THE ROAD OR CROSS A RR TRACK, THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES AND RATTLES. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A WORN RUBBER CUSHION IN THE STEERING COLUMN AND COSTS UPWARDS OF $300 TO REPAIR. THE ISSUE/ITEM WAS A RECALL ON 2011-2013 SONATA'S, BUT NOT ON THE 2014. THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE SONATA. WHY HAVEN'T THE NEWER MODELS BEEN RECALLED AS WELL?

THE AC ACTUATOR BLENDER DOOR KEEPS GETTING STUCK AND CAUSES KNOCKING IN MY DASH BOARD EVERY TIME I TURN ON CAR. IT MAKES THE NOISE FOR FEW MINUTES AND THEN STOPS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THE FUEL LINE WAS CRACKED. THE CONTACT AND TWO OCCUPANTS BECAME ILL FROM THE FUMES MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS PROVIDED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR FLASHED, AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE SEIZED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY MAPLE HILL HYUNDAI (5622 W MAIN, KALAMAZOO, MI 49009) IN MARCH OF 2017 FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A NEW ENGINE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
THE PROBLEM STARTED WITH EXTERNAL LIGHT BULBS GOING OUT. HAD TO REPLACE 4 IN THE MATTER OF COUPLE MONTHS. SMELL OF BURNING RUBBER (THOUGHT IT WAS GAS) , RADIO RESTARTING AUTOMATICALLY. ONE DAY WAS DRIVING DOWN A ROAD, ALL THE SENSORS STARTED FLICKERING, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER, ENGINE SHUT OFF ,CAME TO A STOP. I MANAGED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IN COUPLE MINUTES AND DRIVE IT THE NEAREST SHOP. HAPPENED AT 78 K MILES. THE SHOP SAID THEY CANNOT FIX THIS PROBLEM, HAD TO TAKE IT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT IS NOW. WILL TAKE A WEEK TO FIX AND WELL OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS IN COST. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE ELECTRICAL ISSUE IN SUCH A YOUNG VEHICLE, HYUNDAI NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND HAVE A RECALL. LOOKS LIKE ITS A VERY COMMON ISSUE IN THIS MODEL.
THE LEFT REAR DOOR DOES NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. WHEN YOU ENGAGE THE DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK FOR THE REMOTE OR INSIDE THE VEHICLE, THE DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK MOVES BUT DOES NOT DISENGAGE THE LOCK. THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED AND THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE ON VARIOUS MESSAGE BOARDS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THE DEALER WANT TO CHARGE ME $1000 TO FIX.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON NOT LONG AFTER THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON CHECKED MY OIL AND FOUND METAL FLAKES ON THE DIPSTICK CAR DIED STILL ROLLS OVER MAKES A LOUD NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING AND DOESN'T WANT TO ACCELERATE
STEERING GETS REAL LOOSE DUE TO A DEFECTIVE STEERING WHEEL COUPLER. CAUSES A LOT OF PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL WHEN YOU TURN. THE COUPLER IS MADE OUT OF PLASTIC I THINK AND IT WEARS AGAINST METAL.
THE WINDSHIELD WASHER ON THIS VEHICLE IS AN IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURE. THE WATER TO THE WINDSHIELD WASHER DOES NOT FLOW FROM THE WATER PUMP, WHICH IS FUNCTIONING. I BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING ON MORE VEHICLES THAN JUST MINE. I BELIEVE IT IS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT. THE WATER PUMP ON THE WINDSHIELD WIPER IS NOT FAILING. WHAT IS FAILING IS THE LINE THAT DIRECTS THE WATER FROM THE WATER WELL TO THE WINDSHIELD. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR THEY WANTED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT/WATER PUMP. BUT THE WATER PUMP IS NOT BROKEN. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE.
AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 75 MILES AN HOUR IN SEVERE TRAFFIC CAR STARTED TO MAKE NOISE AND BLINK CHECK BRAKE. THEN IT STARTED TO SLOW DOWN TO AROUND 10 MILES AN HOUR AND NEW MESSAGE WAS HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING DO NOT DRIVE. IF I WAS NOT ON THE END LANE I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. MY KIDS AND PARTNER ARE TRAUMATIZED. VERY DANGEROUS DESIGN NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT. *TR
DRIVING IN LIGHT RAIN ON NORMAL PAVEMENT ST LOUIS COUNTY. APPROACHED STOP SIGN AT END OF STEEP HILL. APPLIED BRAKES LIGHTLY AND WELL IN ADVANCE BUT CAR WAS NOT STOPPING. REALIZED THAT ENGINE HAD STOPPED SO NOTHING WAS WORKING. CAR BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY AS IF BRAKES WERE TRYING TO GRAB. FINALLY CAME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTION - FORTUNATELY NOBODY WAS IN FRONT OF US ARE ATTEMPTING TO CROSS INTERSECTION IN OTHER DIRECTION. CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. TRIED TO RESTART BUT NOTHING. HAD TO MOVE CAR SO TRIED TO START AGAIN - STARTER DID NOT CRANK AT ALL, BUT SUDDENLY ENGINE WAS RUNNING AS IF IT HAD NEVER STOPPED AND ALL POWER WAS RESTORED. DROVE IMMEDIATELY TO DEALER THINKING IT WAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH ENGINE RECALL. WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT 5 MILES AWAY WITH NO INCIDENT. AFTER 3 DAYS OF BEING AT DEALER WE WERE TOLD THAT SOMETHING IN THE BRAKE FLUID "MODULE" HAD BROKEN LOSE AND BRAKE FLUID LEAKED INTO WIRE HARNESS CAUSING EXTREME CORROSION. THEY BELIEVE THE ENGINE NEVER ACTUALLY STOPPED RUNNING, BUT RATHER THE ELECTRICAL SIGNAL WAS MOMENTARILY INTERRUPTED DUE TO THE CORROSION. IT WAS GOING TO BE A $5000 FIX. WE DID NOT HAVE CAR REPAIRED. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WOULD SEND IT TO AUCTION. THIS CAR MUST TO BE PULLED OFF THE ROAD AS IT IS A HAZARD TO ANYONE WHO PURCHASES IT, EVEN "AS IS". REPORTED TO CONSUMER AFFAIRS AT HYUNDAI ON 11/6/19. SPOKE TO A REPRESENTATIVE 11/14/19 AND WAS TOLD CAR WOULD BE TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE. I AM REPORTING HERE TO INSURE THAT IT IS INDEED TAKEN OUT OF SERVICE. WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED. WIFE DRIVES ABOUT 35 MILES PER DAY AND IT COULD HAVE EASILY HAPPENED WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING TO WORK.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR APPROXIMATELY A MONTH AND A HALF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
ENGINE OVER HEATS AND WON'T START FOR SEVERAL HOURS. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE ENGINE HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR 5 MINUTES OR AN HOUR OR MORE. WHEN TURNING THE KEY THE ENGINE CLICKS AND WON'T START. YOU HAVE TO TURN THE KEY ON SEVERAL TIMES (WHEN THE ENGINE IS COOL) TO HAVE THE ENGINE START RUNNING. I HAVE READ THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN UNDER RECALL BY HYUNDAI, BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS EXCLUDED ACCORDING TO ONLINE INFORMATION. I HAVE RECEIVED RECALL NOTICES ON ISSUES AND BELIEVE MY CAR'S VIN SHOULD HAVE ALSO BEEN ON THE ENGINE RECALL LIST.
MY CAR HAS STALLED WHILE I HAVE BEEN ON THE ROAD AND WILL SHUT OFF. IT HAS RESTARTED IN THE PAST OVER THE COURSE OF THE LAST YEAR AND HALF 2018-2019. TODAY NOV 1 2019, MY CAR STALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. IT HAD BEEN BEHAVING STRANGELY THE PAST WEEK. NOW I AM STUCK.
BRAKE LIGHTS KEEP BLOWING OUT. I HAVE REPLACED INDIVIDUALLY 2 TIMES, AND BOTH TOGETHER 2 TIMES IN 2019. I KNOW I AM NOT PURCHASING OFF-MARKET OR USED OR FAULTY LIGHT BULBS. THERE MUST BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MOST RECENT REPLACEMENT OF BOTH BULBS WAS OCT. 20, 2019.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NORM REEVES HYUNDAI SUPERSTORE (18818 STUDEBAKER RD, CERRITOS, CA 90703, (562) 353-4062) WHERE THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED PER THE RECALL. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD AND DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS. THE CONTACT WAS ALERTED BY ANOTHER DRIVER THAT HER VEHICLE WAS SMOKING AND THE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND ALL THE OCCUPANTS EXITED THE VEHICLE. THE ENTIRE VEHICLE BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED THE CONTACT A NEW VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,009.
Hyundai Motors fails to sympathize with their customers. I bought a Hyundai Sonata 2014 which caught a fire on October 9th 2019. Hyundai finally conversated me for the car in how much it was worth $4,150.60 on March 20th 2024 and not for punitive damages. I feel they are very unfair and I need my punitive damages I lost a lot not only a car but my job as well. My livelihood and transportation on top of that. THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE CAME ON, SO I WENT HOME TOLD MY HUSBAND ABOUT THE TIRE WE WAS ON OUR WAY TO PUTTING AIR IN THE TIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES, POWER STEERING, AND ACCELERATION WAS INOPERABLE, AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SIMMONS ROCKWELL HYUNDAI (784 COUNTY RD 64, ELMIRA, NY 14903, (607) 796-5555) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT NO FAULT CODE WAS FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN BY THE MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL BEING DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
I CONSTANTLY HAVE TO REPLACE MY LIGHT BULBS OF MY BRAKE LIGHTS. THE LIGHT BULBS OVER HEAT AND THEN BRAKE. IT'S MELTING THE THE PLASTIC AROUND THE BRAKE LIGHTS. I'M AFRAID IT'S GOING TO START A FIRE.

ABOUT MARCH OF 2018 I NOTICED MY HEADLIGHTS STARTED ACTING UP. I WOULD TURN MY BLINKER ON AND ONCE THE TURN WAS COMPLETE AND THE BLINKER TURNED OFF, MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD GO OFF. VERY SCARY WHEN IT IS SO DARK OUTSIDE. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL ABOUT MARCH OF 2019. NOW IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. AND IT HAPPENS WHEN I AM NOT USING MY BLINKER. I AM JUST DRIVING DOWN THE STREET IN THE DARK AND MY HEADLIGHTS GO OUT (EVEN THE INDICATOR ON MY DASH THAT TELLS ME THE LIGHTS ARE ON GOES OFF). I HAVE TO JIGGLE THE BLINKER HANDLE TO GET THEM TO COME BACK ON. SOMETIMES THEY BLINK ON AND OFF AS WELL. THIS IS VERY SCARY AS I GO TO WORK WHEN IT IS STILL DARK OUT. THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY NOW.

2014 HYUNDAI SONATA WITH VIN # [XXX] HAS HAD CAMPAIGN RECALLS WHICH STARTED 3/ 2019 ( CAMPAIGN RECALL123 POWERTRAIN TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE). VEHICLE RECEIVED REPAIR FOR CAMPAIGN RECALL 123 10/2014 UNDER HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP. RECENTLY CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING AND GOT DIAGNOSED BY HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP THAT ENGINE SEIZED AND WOULD NEED NEW ENGINE.CAR WAS UNDERWARRANTY WITH THE CAMPAIGN RECALL AND STATED THAT CAR WOULD NEED TRANSMISSION DUE TO 3RD SHIFT NOT WORKING LIKE IT SHOULD. CASEWORKER FROM CONSUMER AFFAIRS STATED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR TRANSMISSION DUE TO TRANSMISSION NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND HE WOULD NOT APPROVE FOR REPAIR. I HAD MENTIONED TO CASEWORKER THAT CAMPAIGN RECALL 123 HAD BEEN REPAIRED BY HYUNDAI BACK IN 2014. HE DENIED ANY APPROVAL. TAILLIGHTS CONSTANTLY BURN OUT AND WORK INCONSISTENTLY. MY PASSENGER SIDE TAILLIGHT CURRENTLY DOES NOT WORK AFTER THE ENTIRE TAILLIGHT CONNECTOR/WIRING HARNESS HAS BEEN CHANGED DUE TO THE BULB BURNING AND MELTING THE SOCKET. THE FACT THAT THE LIGHT GETS HOT ENOUGH TO MELT THUS PIECE IS A FIRE HAZARD. ADDITIONALLY MY ESC LIGHT GOES ON FOR DAYS AND THEN SUDDENLY GOES OFF. I DON'T BELIEVE IT POSSESSES A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO POSSIBLE UNPREDICTABLE MALFUNCTIONING.

BID PATROL WAS CALLED BY MANAGERS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT WANT TO SPEAK WITH ME OR RELEASE MY VEHICLE AND ASKED THE PATROL THAT I LEAVE PREMISES WITHOUT MY CAR. I HAVE MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP BY PHONE, EMAIL AND AN IN PERSON VISIT( WITH POLICE ESCORT) BUT HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL IN OBTAINING MY VEHICLE. VISITED DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND WITH A POLICE ESCORT AND WAS NOT ALLOWED ON PREMISES. MANAGER WOULD NOT SPEAK TO ME, WOULD NOT RELEASE VEHICLE AND REQUESTED I CONTACT SERVICE MANAGER MICHAEL. THE SERVICE MANAGER DID NOT RESPOND TO ANY OF MY CALLS, VOICEMAILS OR EMAILS THROUGHOUT THE WEEK. ON FRIDAY,SEPTEMBER 6TH 2019 I MADE ANOTHER IN PERSON VISIT( WITH POLICE ESCORT BECAUSE MANAGERS DID NOT WANT ME ON PREMISES) AND MANAGERS DID NOT WANT TO SPEAK WITH ME. AN EMPLOYEE WAS SENT IN PLACE OF MANAGER TO SPEAK WITH ME AND I WAS ABLE TO OBTAIN MY VEHICLE BUT NONE OF THE SAFETY ISSUES WERE FIXED( BRAKES, ROTORS, AXLE). I WAS GIVEN DOCUMENTS I DID NOT WANT TO SIGN BUT SIGNED ONLY TO GET MY VEHICLE RELEASED TO ME.
WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IT MAKES A CLICKING OR KNOCKING NOISE. MAYBE THE RUBBER COUPLER IS WORN OUT.
ON AUGUST 20, 2019, MY CAR'S ENGINE FAILED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING ACROSS A BRIDGE DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I HAD TO RUSH TO THE SHOULDER CLOSEST TO THE LANE I WAS DRIVING, PLACING ME AT THE LEFT SIDE OR THE MEDIAN OF THE BRIDGE. MY CAR'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT SHOW UP, SO WHEN MY CAR WAS TOWED TO OBRIEN HYUNDAI THEY WERE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY OR DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. I REFUSED TO PICK UP THE CAR AFTER THEY HAD IT FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND AFTER REFUSING TO PICK IT UP, THEY FINALLY WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ENGINE FAILURE. THEY THEN SHARED THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ENGINE AND THAT HYUNDAI WOULD REPLACE IT FOR FREE. I DROVE THE VEHICLE WITHOUT ISSUE, UNTIL JUNE 3, 2020. MY ENGINE FAILED WHILE IN MOTION ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY TURN AROUND AND PARK MY VEHICLE BACK IN MY COMPLEX PARKING. JUNE 10, 2020 I GOT THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THE ENGINE FAILED AGAIN AND I WILL NEED ANOTHER REPLACEMENT AND HYUNDAI WOULD COVER IT. I HAVE NO TRUST IN HYUNDAI'S REPLACEMENT ENGINES IF THE NEW ONE FROM AUGUST 2019 FAILED IN UNDER A YEAR. I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE BEFORE THAT POINT IN AUGUST 2019 PERTAINING TO AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THIS VEHICLE MODEL IS A DEATH TRAP AND ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN THAT I REFUSE TO JEOPARDIZE MY LIFE AND SAFETY OVER. *TR
VEHICLE STALLS WHEN ACCELERATOR AFTER COMING TO A STOP. TRY GIVING GAS IT WANT MOVE OR IT WILL COAST VERY SLOW. AFTER 30-60 SECONDS IT WILL PICKUP SPEED. SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT ALLOW TO REVERSE OR GO UP INCLINES. I'VE SHAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND ONE MECHANIC SHOP. WAS TOLD THAT IF CAR IS NOT STALLING AT THE TIME PROBLEM CAN'T BE DIAGNOSED. I'VE BEEN ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AND THIS HAS HAPPENED WHICH IS VERY SCARY. WHEN IT STARTED HAPPENING IT WOULD BE IN A RARE OCCASION NOW AFTER AT LEAST ONE YEAR IT IS MUCH MORE OFTEN. NOW I'M NOTICING AFTER DRIVING IT FOR TWO HOURS CONTINUOUS THE BATTERY DIES DOWN AND THE AC GOES OUT. I'LL TURN IT OFF WHICH CHARGES THE BATTERY BUT DOES NOT HELP THE STALL ISSUE. IT STARTED AT AROUND 80,000 MILES I AM AT 120,000 NOW
MY CAR STARTED LOSING OIL ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO AND IS GETTING WORSE. WHEN I START MY CAR THERE IS A HUGE CLOWD OF WHITE SMOKE THAT COMES OUT. I AM CURRENTLY HAVING TO ADD AT LEAST 3 QUARTS OF OIL OR MORE PER WEEK. THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF POWER. THERE IS OIL ALL OVER THE ENGINE AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT. MY CAR WILL NOT GO OVER 3500 RPM'S. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE LIMITED MY TRAVEL AND I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO GET IT FIXED.
