NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2023 Hyundai Tucson. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
4/16/2026 at 1:35pm I was traveling north on Hwy 69 traveling +-45mph. Vehicle on my right in his lane and one vehicle in from of me about 50yrds. My vehicle auto applied the brakes and alarm indicating emergency collision to happen. A new minutes later (5 minutes) traveling in same direction same speed but NO cars on either side but one care approximately 100 yds in from and again the emergency collision brake and alarm took place
While driving on April 11, 2026 at approximately 1:30 PM on [XXX] , the vehicle experienced a loss of steering response while the roadway curved to the right. The driver turned the steering wheel normally in order to follow the curve. The steering wheel moved freely and felt normal. However, the vehicle did not respond to the steering input and instead continued traveling straight. As a result, the vehicle struck the curb on the driver’s side. The impact with the curb slightly redirected the vehicle, but steering response was not restored. The driver continued attempting to steer the vehicle, and although the steering wheel continued to turn normally, the vehicle did not change direction. The vehicle did not appear to lose traction and was not described as sliding. Instead, it failed to respond to steering input. There were no warning indicators, messages, or prior signs of a problem before the incident. The driver was able to bring the vehicle to a stop in a nearby turn area and arranged for it to be towed. After the incident, the vehicle was taken to a Hyundai dealership for inspection. The dealership reported no diagnostic codes and did not identify any issue with the steering system. No corrective action has been taken. 1)Steering system malfunction (column, shaft, rack, and/or EPS). Steering input was not transmitted to vehicle direction. Vehicle available for inspection. 2)Loss of steering control caused curb impact and risk of collision with vehicles, pedestrians, or objects. Could have resulted in serious injury at higher speed or in traffic. 3)No. Dealer could not reproduce. 4)Inspected by Hyundai dealer. No steering-related codes found. No cause identified. No repair performed. Hyundai Consumer Affairs case opened. 5)No warning lights or prior symptoms. Failure was sudden and without warning. Component that is unsafe: Moonroof Glass Taking in for inspection tomorrow. Safety risk: While driving on highway, Glass Spontaneously Popped and fully shattered. Glass fell down onto myself and into the car as I was driving. This put my driving at risk. Major distraction as well as potentially being a harm to my physical self. Problem reproduced? I know that there are other reports on moonroof glass on a Hyundai Tucson cars that have been shattered with the same predisposing factors. Hyundai has also been reported to not take accountability claiming that foreign objects were the cause. No this vehicle has not been inspected, but I will be taking it in on Sunday. There were zero warnings before this.
All systems warning lights came on
Dear Commissioner and DMV Officials: I am writing to formally address a serious financial and safety concern affecting vehicle owners in Connecticut. As a driver with over 50 years of experience—32 of those in CT—I have never experienced rodent damage to any vehicle until purchasing my 2023 Hyundai Tucson. Since acquiring this vehicle, I have suffered thousands of dollars in damage from rodents chewing through the wiring and wire housing. Multiple mechanics have confirmed this is due to manufacturers switching to soy-based and plant-derived biodegradable materials in wiring insulation. These materials are effectively edible, attracting rodents year-round—not just in cold months. This is not owner negligence. The root cause is a material deficiency in the vehicle's manufacturing. Consumers should not bear the financial burden of a known design choice made by the automaker. Repairs are costly, often excluded from warranties, and frequently not covered by insurance. I respectfully request the Department: Investigate the scope of rodent damage complaints linked to bio-based wiring in newer vehicles. Coordinate with NHTSA to evaluate whether this constitutes a safety defect warranting a recall. Advocate for regulatory standards requiring rodent-resistant wiring materials. Urge manufacturers like Hyundai to offer warranty coverage, reimbursement, or retrofits for affected vehicles. I am prepared to provide documentation of my repair expenses upon request. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Respectfully submitted, [XXX] cc: NHTSA, CT Attorney General, CT Consumer Protection, Hyundai Consumer Affairs INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I parked my car on a driveway with a slight incline. After putting the car in park, I stepped out of the vehicle and the car rolled back into the street. I brought the car back into the driveway, again put the car in park and engaged the parking brake this time. The car rolled back out into the street again. Thankfully, the grandchildren were not playing behind the car and there was no one was parked behind me.
At dusk I was driving below the speed limit (40 MPH). I was at least 3 car lengths behind the vehicle in front of me when i saw the driver was braking because his brake lights came on and there was an intersection ahead with a stop light. There were at least two cars ahead of the vehicler I was behind. I braked but the car kept on going and appeared to accelerate. I was unable to stop the car with the brakes and collided with the car ahead. It was a sturdy vehicle with a strong bumper so I did not do much damage, if any, to the vehicle but my car requires 6,645.90 of repairs. No one was hurt and the air bags did not deploy. I was wearing my seat belt. There was no warning from ny vehicle that I was getting too close to the vehicle ahead and my car made no attempt to brake automatically. It was as though all warning indicators were not functioning. I have had two other incidents of the car surging ahead but did not report it because no one else was involved and I was able to correct the speed and I thought it was just my imagination.
1. Component and Availability: The panoramic sunroof shattered spontaneously. The failed component was replaced by Myrtle Beach Hyundai, but I have documented the damage with photos, and the vehicle is available for inspection to show the remaining glass debris inside the structure and the damaged headliner. 2. Safety Risk: The sunroof shattered with a loud, gunshot-like noise while driving at 60 mph on a highway (I-95), causing extreme driver distraction and potential loss of vehicle control. Furthermore, a large amount of glass shards fell into the cabin and remains trapped inside the headliner. These hidden fragments continue to rattle, causing ongoing distraction and posing a risk of injury to occupants if they fall through the damaged interior fabric. 3. Confirmation by Dealer: Yes, the problem was confirmed by Myrtle Beach Hyundai. They replaced the sunroof under a "goodwill" gesture, although they initially claimed it was not a warranty issue. 4. Inspection by Others: The vehicle was inspected and repaired by the authorized Hyundai dealer (Myrtle Beach Hyundai). No police or insurance reports were filed as it was a spontaneous failure without a collision. 5. Warning Symptoms: There were no warning lamps, unusual noises, or any symptoms prior to the failure. The shattering occurred suddenly and without any external impact or provocation on January 12th.
All four cylinders misfired in my car while driving causing the catalytic converter and all four fuel injectors to need to be replaced. My car suddenly stopped driving in a rural area with only a few minutes of warning when the engine light came on. I was not even able to drive to a nearby shoulder. I was stranded on the side of the road in 5 degree weather until a tow truck could come.
Sun roof on Tucson 2023 shattered while car was being driven. When the roof shattered there was a loud sound (like a bomb going off) in the car and then the sound of glass breaking. The vehicle is available for inspection. There were not any warnings or messages before the failure. Safety was at risk for the passengers and any vehicles that were following. The loud sound caused the driver to swerve and could have caused an accident if another vehicle was on either side of the car. The vehicle was taken to a dealership and shown the damage and the service advisor stated he never heard of a problem. I have contacted Hyundai and they said it might take 6 to 8 weeks before an inspection could be made. There are many messages on the web from people with the same issues. Hyundai did a recall for this same issue for earlier production dates.
Horn did not work. At about 67,000 miles on my vehicle my horn stopped working. I took it to the dealership to be replaced and paid for it. Then again at about 100,000 miles it stopped working. I took it back to the dealership and asked if there’s been any recalls they stated not at this time but there’s been a lot of people complaining about their horns and they told me to save my receipt receipts because I might be able to get reimbursed later. On two different occasions. I’ve been driving and had a car changing lanes into my lane and when I went to honk the horn to alert them, it didn’t work. Now I’m also concerned that I’ve got the same horn put on my vehicle for a third time and that I’m going to have to go back in and pay for a third one. I did reach out to Hyundai USA first and ask them to make this right but they stated they do not have an extended warranty for the 2023 vehicles even though they do have bills for 2020 through 2022. I can get copies of the receipts if they’re needed
Two times while stopped or idling behind a car in traffic, my Hyundai Tucson 2023 has started accelerating on its own with the RPM increasing to nearly 8000 and lurching forward before I was able to apply brakes. Stop the car and restart. I have seen this described on other car message boards and hope the NHTSA will take this seriously. The dealership is not being helpful and claims they cannot reproduce it and it has not caused any onboard diagnostic codes.
As I was pulling into a parking space in a parking garage, the vehicle's engine revved, tires squealed and then the vehicle propelled forward on its own, without my foot being on the accelerator. The vehicle only stopped when it hit a support column and the wall of the parking structure. There was extensive damage to my vehicle and to the parking structure wall. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk due to the car accelerating on its own. The problem has not been confirmed or reproduced by the dealer, but we did take the vehicle to the dealer for inspection and they said they could not find anything wrong with the vehicle that would have caused the unintended acceleration. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer, the insurance company and an investigator for Hyundai. Hyundai infomed us that they are not taking any responsibility for anything that occurred and that they will not share their investigator's report with us. There were no warming lamps or messages related to the problem prior to the failure. However, there have been other occasions while driving on the open road when the engine has revved on its own and I told Hyundai about that. In doing our own research, we have found that there are other 2023 Hyundai Tucson drivers who have had this exact same problem (unintended acceleration causing a crash) while pulling into parking spaces. Additionally, the air bags did not deploy during the collision and therefore the incident was not recorded by the EDR.
My 2023 Hyundai Tucson’s windshield has developed excessive pitting, multiple chips, and cracks despite only normal highway driving. I do not drive on gravel or dirt roads, yet the glass shows abnormal wear far beyond what would be expected for a vehicle this new. One of the larger chips was repaired by Safelite, and during the repair the windshield cracked further, suggesting the glass is unusually weak or defective. Visibility has become noticeably compromised due to the fine pitting across the entire windshield. Based on the number of similar complaints from other Tucson owners, this appears to be a recurring safety issue with Hyundai windshields.
Major problems with this cars electrical and computer systems. Six warning lights would begin to flash in succession. Eventually car would be inoperative leaving us stranded in July 2025 in Cumberland MD then after supposed repair we were again stranded in Providence RI on Nov 20, 2025 and car has been there for repair ever since. No completion date has yet been given. I strongly believe there are major safety problems with this car.
When I turn the wheel I get a grinding sound inside vehicle not outside of it.
2023 Hyundai Tuscon - Very Low Milage approx 6500 Miles - while in a parking lot, The rear passenger Carrier ARM which holds the Control arm fully cracked causing the Control arm to fall off. This product failure is unprecedented as it was a total part manufacture failure. NO impact or under carriage damage was found, even upon Dealer inspection. I as the driver of the vehicle confirm that No impact, accident occurred, and luckily I was not on a highway when it occurred. This was caused ONLY as a result of Product Failure. My concern is that this may occur on the other wheel(s) as a product failure is often NOT a one- product issue, but usually a batch failure. So I am concerned for my safety and the safety of others on the road with this vehicle and product part. Another concern - this vehicle was manufactured during the covid era, and I am concerned about product failures as parts were difficult to get and may have been sourced without proper testing during this time). Kindly advise me on your findings, and if there is an inspection that can be performed to assure me that the car is safe.
As I was parking my car in a parking spot going about 5 miles or less. My car surged forward at a very accelerated speed, and I ended up running into a brushed and a metal fence, which is what stopped me. There were no warnings that went off on my car. No emergency brakes, nothing.
I was backing out of my driveway, which is on a busy street. I waited for the traffic to clear. I backed out onto the main road, which I thought was completely clear, but a car came behind me and I smacked right into him. There was no beeping from my car, and the automatic braking system did not engage at all. The rear of my car, particularly the driver's side, was severely damaged. The other car's passenger front door was badly damaged. The side curtain airbag on their car deployed and their vehicle (Volvo station wagon) was not driveable. The emergency braking system frequently engages unexpectedly when I back out of my driveway, even when there is no hazard. The unexpected braking is oftentimes dangerous. However, this time, when I needed it, it did not engage. An outside diagnostic inspection was done on the vehicle, and showed "no event." If you saw the cars involved in the accident, it is clear there was a significant "event."
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 5 MPH in a parking lot and slowing down to park the vehicle, the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact depressed the brake pedal with force and stopped the vehicle, and was able to shift to park(P). The contact stated that the RPM revved up to 8,000 RPM, and the contact turned off the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, and the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,241.
After using horn on rainy highway driving it stopped working completely. Called dealer with issue and scheduled appointment. After two day they said it is a know issue and horns will take 2-3 business days to order. Took 5. Getting horns replaced today but told by service tech that this is a known safety issue to Hyundai. Horns are a basic piece of equipment. Should be recalled and better designed.
My 2023 Hyundai Tuscon has 36000 miles. Started running rough with a slight noise. First noticed on Wed [XXX]. On Thursday [XXX] I went to start my car and it stalled. Finally after letting it sit a few minutes it started but only to have the SGI light flash yellow and stay yellow for the remainder of the drive. That day I made an appt at my local Hyundai Dealership in Brandon Florida. They kept my car. Fast forward, Monday September 15th I was notified that the car had lost a significant amount of oil. Car was inspected and free of any leaks. Tech stated because of the low oil & oil pressure the battery life was significantly impacted. I would need an oil change & new battery. Upon arriving back I came across an article stating that excessive oil consumption is common among these vehicles and the dealer wasn't even going to notify me of this issue. They were not honest and I want to file a formal complaint knowing that this is well known issue. I feel unsafe driving my children around and am upset that a recall has not been issued to fix this. the blue tooth handsfree phone button does not work i took it into service and told them I was told the update to fix it wont come out until December so in the meantime for 3 months I have to not be able to work or talk in the car because it is unsafe to use the phone without it being handsfree
UNKNOWN - was parking in a spot and car accelerated uncommanded, stepped on the brakes and car did not stop. It stopped with parking sign cement post.
Horn has been replaced three times and is now out for a fourth time.
Engine misfiring, causing low power on interstate 70 also losing brake control.
On [XXX], while driving a 2023 Hyundai TUCSON SEL, the steering wheel suddenly and completely detached from the steering column and ended up in the driver's lap. This sudden and absolute loss of steering control is a catastrophic failure of a primary safety system that placed the driver's life and potentially the lives of others in immediate and extreme peril. It was only due to sheer luck that the vehicle was brought to a stop without an accident or injury. Following the incident, due to fear and anxiety, the driver is now in treatment and has been unable to work. The vehicle was transported to Ron Marhofer Hyundai on the same day. The following day, the driver was met with a profound lack of respect and professionalism from the service advisor, Declan McCready. The driver and her mother were implicitly told they did not know what they were talking about and were treated with a profound lack of respect. The service advisor initially asserted there was no warranty coverage for the issue and that it would cost nearly $500.00 to fix. He also claimed his entire shop of mechanics looked at the car and found nothing was broken. However, the very next day, the dealership abruptly reversed their diagnosis and instructed the driver to get a rental car, stating they would now be fixing the vehicle under warranty. The repair order confirms the technician's findings: "verified concern steering column separated stopped bracket bent and separated replaced column housing operating normal". The vehicle had 14,479 miles at the time of the failure. There were no prior warnings or symptoms before the incident. For the second time in a year, I was pulling into a parking space and when I applied the brake, the car accelerated, seemed to be airborne and lurched forward. Though I firmly had my foot on the break, it would not stop until it hit a brick post about three feet away. This exact same scenario happened in July of last year. Then, I hit a stand of shrubs. Someone said, your foot must have slipped off the break and hit the accelerator. I said, “I don’t think so.” Yet, I took the blame for the accident, for I could not believe it was a car malfunction, nothing close to this had happened to me since I owned the car. Everything was the same in the last crash as in the first. This time, as soon as the car accelerated, I checked, and my foot was firmly on the break. There is definitely a malfunction in the car. The black.box Should be recovered and read by someone not associated with Hyundai. I checked on Hyundai Tucson Owners’ group on Facebook, and my incident has been reported by others.
my 2023 Hyundai Tucson has had the horn replaced twice. the technician indicated this is a common problem due to the location of the horn its susceptible to water damage rendering it useless. The horn is something rarely used and we were not aware it did not work until we tried to use it to alert a car entering our lane of traffic!
While on the road, the sunroof just shattered completely. In this instance, nobody was hurt as the cover below the sunroof was open and that caught all the glass pieces. The car is hardly 2 year old and warranty covered the repairs. The complaint is that Hyundai never gave a clear answer as to why this happened and what can be done to prevent it. There is no consideration of the passengers getting hurt and startled by this incident. Also no consideration for the time it took for the repairs, the dealership never gave a loaner and we didn’t know we could rent it and Hyundai would reimburse. I feel Hyundai cannot just say sorry and move on as there has to be a reason for this and we pay extra for having a sunroof. I am not satisfied with Hyundai’s method of dealing with customers who suffered bear of their own manufacturing.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed while merging onto a highway, but the vehicle lost forward momentum. The contact stated that the message "Limited to 20 MPH" was displayed on the instrument cluster. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that the engine was not revving. The contact pulled off the highway and into a parking lot. The contact turned the vehicle off and on, and normal driving was resumed. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent and was occurring while accelerating. Additionally, the contact stated that upon starting the vehicle in the morning, the vehicle would jump forward while still in park (P). Additionally, the contact stated that the horn had stopped functioning after the last loss of forward momentum but had returned to normal function a few days later. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,500.
Driving on the highway when my car stopped accelerating when pressing down on the gas pedal. It was very risky to be driving on the highway without the ability to accelerate so we put our hazard lights on while we got out the highway ay the nearest exit and parked the car in a nearby parking lot. We were stranded about 100 miles away from home and had to have the car towed back home. Dealership confirmed that it was the fuel injector that was the issue and has been a known common issue for this type of vehicle.
Approximately 2-3 months ago, the horn had failed. This was reported to the dealer and covered under warranty. During the service the dealer advised that this issue was due to a faulty electrical contact and was a “known issue with the supplier of the horn”. Because of this, Hyundai extended the warranty period on the horn. Now, the horn had failed a second time and was discovered during a safety hazard in which I needed to alert another driver. This had the potential to cause serious injury but was avoided.
This week I noticed my low tone horn on my vehicle had stopped working It was replaced under warranty by Hyundai at 41000 miles Only a little while ago at 35000 miles both horns went out and I only learned this when I needed it to help avoid being hit and it wasn’t available Hyundai indicated they are aware of issue but are still replacing horns with the same original part that is prone to shorting out
FUEL INJECTORS FAILED AT 18523 MILES. Replaced both low and high injector on this cylinder 3 and then continued performance issues. Replaced all low injectors in Al 4 cylinders but did not replace higher injectors Stranded on Sunday on highway with no rental cars open except airport.
2023 Hyundai Tucson with just over 14,000 miles failed to accelerate. After completing a right turn the vehicle seemed like it went into neutral. A green warning light appeared stating limit 20 mph. I now know this is “limp mode”. Turning the vehicle off and back on seemed to resolve the issue. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. They found nothing wrong. I was told to take a picture of the warning next time. I was fortunate to not have caused an accident. This is incredibly dangerous.
This is the SECOND time the vehicle has lost power and either had the engine die or stopped producing enough power to drive safely. The first time, the engine lost power to the put of not being able to maintain speed on a very busy highway during rush hour, forcing me to pull to the nearest side (left side of road) that had a narrow shoulder next to fastest vehicles. The most recent event (3/25/2025) took place in a parking lot. Engine was VERY rough at idle and when placed in reverse, it died. Could not restart for ~10 minutes, after which time the problem persisted. In both instances a tow truck had to take vehicle to dealership. In both cases the dealer indicated it was the fuel injectors causing the issues. No check engines lights or other dashboard light came on except for an indication to start the vehicle in Neutral. I used the companies app for the vehicle and no error codes came up. This issue resulted in no damage to persons or property, but could have if I wasn't next to shoulder in the first incident.
The car turned off while I was driving. Everything went black. I was able to coast to the side of the road.
I am on my 3rd fuel injector repair in less than 2 years. asked if they could replace them all and was told they can only replace what is broken. My car was purchased brand new and still under warranty . each time the car was towed to 3 different dealers, i have not received a loaner or a rental car voucher. I have been without my car for upwards of over a week. So what exactly is the warranty good for? I have a friend who has a 2106 acura ilx and to this day when it needs to be repaired, he gets a loaner and they pick the car up from his home. This is so disappointing to have purchased a 2023 car in Dec of 2022 with 13 miles on it and have had it in the shop 3 times as of Feb 2025
My vehicle has been in for service 4 times for the front brake rotors warping. The dealer/manufacturer is not able to fix nor diagnose the root cause of the issue. They have replaced the rotors twice and turned/resurfaced the rotors twice - all in 26000 miles. The dealer has all but given up on the issue - and has referred me to Hyundai Customer Care (Corporate) where I have logged a case. In my discussions with the dealer service manager - he stated there are "half a dozen" other cars he is aware of with similar issues. In online Hyundai owners forums this is also a "known" issue that apparently Hyundai either chooses not to fix or cannot determine how to fix.
I was driving straight when a vehicle coming from the opposite direction made a left turn without yielding, crossing into my lane. As a result, my vehicle collided with the other car at full speed. However, the airbag in my steering wheel did not deploy upon impact, as it should have. My injuries have been significantly more severe than they would have been had the airbag functioned properly. I reported this issue to the vehicle manufacturer, and they opened a case and conducted an inspection. During their inspection, they found that the airbag had since deployed. However, my vehicle was transported off a steep hill and moved to multiple lots before the inspection, any of which could have triggered a delayed deployment. Despite this, the manufacturer has refused to accept liability. Because the airbag failed to deploy at the time of impact, there was no buffer between me and the steering wheel. This resulted in excessive force against my chest from the seatbelt and direct impact with the steering wheel, leading to more severe injuries. There were no warning lights on in the vehicle before the crash, nor were there any recalls related to this issue at the time of the incident.
(1) [XXX] (14,568 mi): The vehicle had been running normally. My wife was about to switch lanes at an intersection when the vehicle started to shake and vibrate. The entire dashboard lit up and the vehicle quickly died. She tried restarting it and the engine wouldn’t turn over. Anytime there was an attempt to restart, there was a potent odor of gasoline. The car died in the middle of the road. It would sort of start but then it wouldn't move and would just shake and smell of gas. After many minutes of trying to start the vehicle, barely got power but was able to pull to side of road around other cars. Hyundai app reported codes: P030300 and P217800. Had car towed to local dealer. Picked the car up and next day spoke to the service manager who indicated there was a 20%-25% chance this would reoccur. He said there was nothing he could do as Hyundai would only cover the cost for the existing issue. The paperwork from the dealer shows it was a P0303 for cylinder 3 misfire and system too rich caused by leaking fuel injector for cylinder 3 (low pressure). [XXX] (14,702 mi) I was driving the car, in middle of an intersection and the vehicle started to vibrate and all lights on dash lit up (check engine, battery, etc.) and smell of gasoline. Car hesitated and wouldn't move. Died in intersection. Had to have 2 people help push me as I was dead in middle of road with people beeping and passing me. Got to side of road and couldn't get vehicle to start. No error codes on app this time, but all symptoms were exactly the same. Called for tow, different dealership due to location. Dealership indicated they would return it to us safe, but because of Hyundai policies, they can only work on the affected items. This is well documented by Hyundai owners of this problem and going by what the service manager of the first location told me, this is common to spread to other injectors. THIS IS UNSAFE! TWICE IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS! TWO MORE INJECTORS! SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I was driving on a highway at 75 mph, on a clear day, with perfect visibility and driving conditions and my automatic emergency braking engaged. I was on cruise control with no one in front of me for approximately half a mile. There were cars behind me, so I had to swerve into another lane to avoid being rear ended. There was a sequence of beeps. If there were warning lights or messages, I was too busy dodging to see them. There may have been a squiggly line that came up, but I am unsure.
I purchased the car in December of 2022 and within the first few months, it would shut down on the interstate. After a few minutes, it would crank back up and be fine. I immediately took it to the dealership (authorized Hyundai dealer) and they could not find an issue. A couple months later, it did it again. Again, I took it to the dealer, they didn't find anything, and I took it home. After a year, it stopped and would not start back up for a long time. I was stranded at a gas station for over an hour. I finally got it to crank, took it in, and they said they fixed a faulty fuel injector. Now it's October 2024 and it is back at the dealer because last week it left me stranded on the side of the interstate at night for a few hours. Again, they are replacing 2 fuel injectors.
Attempted to make right turn onto busy road. Tried to accelerate to move with the traffic, when the car would not go any faster then 20MPH. Could hear cars braking behind me. Pulled over to the side. Message appeared on speedometer, " Limit 20MPH" with green Speedometer. Shut the car off tried to find problem in the manual. Didnt find anything. Turned car back on, it ran normal. Took it to Hyundai, Fort Myers, Appointment, on 08/28/24. They diagnosed it as : "driver assist speed setting was turned on inside settings. Turned off setting, performed a DTC code scanning with no dtcs in any system. Attached stui photos, performed a 2 mile test drive with no further issues". I can only hope that the problem is solved. I do not recall turning on anything like, and wouldn't know how to, but I guess it is possible. Wanted to notify the NHTSA, in case there are other owners experiencing the same issue. Thank you for concern
The horn stopped working. I’m told by Hyundai service technician this is fairly common issue due to the location of the horns they are susceptible to “shorting out”
Horn stopped working even the fuse is fine still horn not working . Not panic alarm sound either.
2023 Tuscon Limited Gas - Multiple instances on Vehicle Forward collision warning system activating with alarms noted but no activation of emergency braking while sitting at stop light with cars in front and back that are not moving. Radio system going to show surround view and in some cases only front view even though at stop light. Biggest issue this weekend while taking a curve while merging onto another freeway the emergency braking system activated for no reason. First time occurrence. No one beside me or in front of me for some distance but did have someone behind me. It was a quick activation of the brakes and then release, I would say 1-2 second engagement. If had been longer and brought me to stop would of been an accident. I am taking the car to Westlake Hyundai to investigate this week and will report. Also having dealer investigate premature driver seat excessive wear. Car has 15.5K miles on it. I am concerned as this car is exhibiting same issues that my wife's 2018 Tuscon had that ended-up being successfully lemon lawed. I am also seeing way to many similar complaints and Hyundai needs to figure out what is going on with their emergency front collision sensing system and issue a fix or recall.
The rear turn signals on the 2023 Hyundai Tucson are on the rear bumper. They are never seen by any car or truck sitting behind you or next to you in your blindspot. I believe the 2022 & the 2024 also have this issue, and there are numerous complaints about it online, especially on Reddit and auto forums. They are dangerous. Cars too close behind you or next to you in your blindspot, will never see your signal, especially the larger cars & trucks or tall autos such as buses, garbage trucks, etc. Here is one of many articles & videos about this issue: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Failure to accelerate. While entering Route 95 from on ramp traveling at about 40 miles the car failed to accelerate. Gas pedal revved engine but failed to accelerate and slowed. Safety of myself and others in grave risk as I was trying to merge into traffic that was traveling at 65 miles per hour. I contacted dealer and was told appointment was not available for weeks and they never heard of the problem. I will bring auto into dealership and leave it with them as it is clearly unsafe to drive. No warning light on dash or engine light problem was present.
