Bought car, it was a recall on the vehicle got it fixed then the ESC code came on, stops the car while driving & smoking from rear driver wheel, took to Hyundai was told I needed to get wheel speed sensor, CV axle & valve cover gasket replaced, got it done then it was the starter, radiator , got it fixed , then it started slowing down while driving putting the car in limp mode now I need a new engine .

Dashboard is literally disintegrating into many small pieces. The area over the passenger airbag will come at the passenger as plastic shrapnel. It will also probably affect the force the bag has when inflated. This issue is from using substandard materials.
I own 2012 Hyundai Veracruz, I called Conceilli Hyundai Service repair service to make an appointment for my hyundai recall for oil leaking on alternator, the closest dealer to my location Conshohocken Conceilli Hyundai which I have called several times over the past month to get repaired. "Rick" the service manager said they are not taking any "recall repairs". I asked for a future appointment and he told me I can find another dealership.

It started with the back seat interior locks sticking. It has now turned into the back seat interior handle broken off. The other side is barely hanging on. My children are the usual passengers in the back seat and they are unable to open the doors to get out of the car.

2012 HYUNDAI VERA CRUZ. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO NHTSA SAFETY RECALL 20V-705. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER HAD SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIR COMPLETE BUT, DID NOT HONOR THE RECALL.
This recall only replaces the front cylinder bank cover gasket, but there's oil leaking on to my engine from the other valve gasket cover too. Hyundai wants to charge me $600 to replace that. The car has stopped on the road in the middle of me driving it twice (both in March 2021) - luckily no crash as it was in a residential area. I've paid over $1000 in repairs as Hyundai didn't have a recall 'solution' despite the car not working. I'm including the receipt for the alternator replacement as well as proof of the (first - there were multiple) battery replacements before there was a 'solution'. Hyundai won't reimburse me for these.
My vehicle was under a recall. The engine lights started going off so I immediately turned around and headed back home. By the time I got home, my vehicle was close to stalling. It would not go beyond 3rd gear and would not go into reverse. I parked it on the street in front of my home and the vehicle stalled do to a failed alternator. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer honored only part of the recall. They replaced the valve gasket/T Joint but they would not replace the alternator because "it was not oil soaked". The alternator was previously replaced under the first recall and it is clear that this second alternator failed and should have been replaced as part of this second recall. My issue is that HYUNDAI IS NOT HONORING THE RECALL. I was forced to pay out of pocket $996.94 to have my alternator replaced. I have contacted the Hyundai Customer Care Center multiple times since November 2021 regarding this issue. I'm seeking that they honor the recall by reimbursing me but they have not followed up.

On September 26, 2021 the airbag indicator light in my 2012 Hyundai Veracruz remained illuminated upon starting the vehicle. Around a day later, the airbag light stopped illuminating. Around a month later, I received a letter from Hyundai regarding a warranty extension to cover the clock spring, so I contacted my local Hyundai dealership. Tracy Hyundai indicated that the clock spring is fine, however there is a faulty passenger side occupant sensor. The fault code cleared; however this creates a safety issue as it is unknown if the front passenger airbags would deploy in the event of an accident. Tracy Hyundai indicated that Hyundai Corporation no longer makes this part so there is no available resolution. I contacted Hyundai Corporation, however they could not assist and referred me to contact the dealership.
My vehicle (2012 Veracruz) is currently under Recall Campaign #197 for Hyundai. This INCOMPLETE recall has been in place since November 2020 with NO SOLUTION PROVIDED yet as of July 2021. I have owned this vehicle for six years, and have already had to replace the alternator TWICE (2015 & 2019) due to the very same issue with the oil leak on the alternator. I 2019, my Veracruz DIED in the MIDDLE OF THE ROAD when the alternator suddenly went out. I was the EXACT SERIOUS SAFETY RISK indicated in this current Recall #197. I am now the mother of a newborn baby and two year old son. This is our primary family vehicle. We ARE UNABLE to rely on it as a safe and dependable vehicle for our family because of the OPEN and INCOMPLETE recall. The dealership has told me that I have to pay out of pocket for any diagnostic and repair at this point, even if tied to the recall. (I can apply later for reimbursement.) I want Hyundai to give a time expected for a solution to this recall IMMEDIATELY or I want Hyundai/dealership to pay for any diagnostic and repair services that may be related to this recall #197 and alternator issue. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I have contacted Hyundai Customer Care and been told that since my car is out of warranty, I must pay for any diagnostic and repair for alternator issues. Again, UNACCEPTABLE when I am receiving monthly notices from Hyundai that there is a clear alternator problem and safety concern. When is the solution to this recall going to be provided? When will this company accept liability for this issue?

VEHICLE HAS OIL LEAKING ONTO ALTERNATOR. TOOK TO DEALER TO HAVE FIXED PER RECALL 197. DEALER SAID PROBLEM DID NOT EXIST AND INSTEAD TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR MULTIPLE OTHER REPAIRS INCLUDING DAMAGE THEY DID TO VEHICLE WHILE PERFORMING INSPECTION. IF YOU PUT YOUR HAND ON THE BACK OF THE ALTERNATOR, YOUR HAND COMES OUT WITH OIL ON IT.

THE CAR WILL NOT START. IGNITION SWITCH DOES NOT ACTIVATE. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY AFTER SITTING OVER NIGHT AND ON LONG TRIPS. A FEW TIMES IT STARTED AFTER HAVING THE BATTERY CHARGED FROM ANOTHER CAR. SOMETIMES IT STARTS AFTER 10 MINUTES OF TRYING TO START IT. IT HAPPENED ROUTINELY ON A 2000 MILE ROAD TRIP. 3 HYUNDAI DEALERS COULD NOT FIND AN ANSWER. IT HAPPENED RARELY FOR 4 MONTHS UNTIL THE RETURN 2000 MILE ROAD TRIP.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER FOUND NO ISSUES AT THE TIME. THE CONTACT THEN RECEIVED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V705000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER THE FAILURE. THE DEALER EDMOND HYUNDAI WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE OR THE ISSUE. I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN ONTO A 2 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY. AS I WAS TURNING I LOST STEERING POWER AND MY BRAKE LIGHT INDICATOR CAME ON. I WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO REGAIN STEERING AFTER CROSSING BOTH LANES OF ON COMING TRAFFIC. THE ALTERNATOR BELT WAS REPLACED. THE VERY NEXT DAY THE EXACT SAME THING OCCURRED EXCEPT THERE WAS A LOUD SQUEAL THAT HAPPENED FOLLOWING THE LOSS OF STEERING AND THE BATTERY LIGHT COMING ON.THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN TO LOSE STEERING WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I HAD ALSO EXPERIENCED THE ABS SENSOR, EMERGENCY BRAKE SENSOR, AND ESC SENSOR COMING ON. REPLACING THE ABS SENSOR ON BOTH SIDES CORRECTED THAT ISSUE.
THE BATTERY DON'T CHARGE UNLESS THE AIR CONDITIONER IS ON.
The contact's wife owns a 2012 Hyundai Veracruz. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the vehicle began to lose power as several warning lights illuminated the instrument panel. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who informed him that the cover gasket had leaked oil onto the alternator. The contact had both the alternator and the cover gasket replaced. Almost a year later, the same failure occurred and he had the cover gasket replaced again by the same mechanic.The contact then received a notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V705000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); however, the parts for the repair were unavailable. The dealer had been notified about the recall; however, the contact was informed that the parts were not yet available. The manufacturer had been notified of the recall but the contact had not yet received a response.The contact recently took his vehicle to the same mechanic for a maintenance check and was informed that his cover gaskets were leaking oil yet again. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. Vin tool confirms parts not available.
THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 HYUNDAI VERACRUZ. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V705000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE DEALER HOWEVER, IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN THE RECALL NOTICE THAT WAS RECEIVED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE BATTERY WARNING LIGHT AND FOB WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL WHILE IDLING. THE CONTACT HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION TWICE. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AND THE VEHICLE WAS PRESENTLY INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT WAS SCHEDULED FOR ANOTHER TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT WHEN THE RECALL NOTIFICATION WAS RECEIVED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE CAR IS STILL HAVING THE OIL LEAK ON TO THE ALTERNATOR LIKE THE RECALL STATED. THIS IS MY 3RD TIME REPLACING MY ALTERNATOR ON A BRAND NEW CAR I BOUGHT OFF THE LOT.
GLASS SUN ROOF WOULD NOT CLOSE AND STUCK IN OPEN POSITION. HYUNDAI DEALER'S REPORT IS THAT TRACKS ARE CRACKED OPEN DUE TO SUN DAMAGE. ALSO THAT VALVE COVERS ARE LEAKING ON TO THE ALTERNATER
THE CAR WOULD NOT START. THEN THE ENGINE AREA BEGAN SMOKING AND THEN A FIRE SPARKED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO BE CALLED TO PUT THE FIRE OUT. THE CAR WAS AT A GAS STATION AND WAS NOT MOVING.
PURCHASED VEHICLE NEW IN 2012. CURRENTLY AT 112K MILES. OVER THE PAST YEAR I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN MY LIGHT DIAL IS IN THE "ON" POSITION AND SIGNALING RIGHT WITH THE TURN SIGNAL STALK IN CITY CONDITIONS (5-30 MPH) MY HEADLIGHTS (AND DASH LIGHTS) WILL FLICKER OFF AND BACK ON. LIGHT DIAL IS AT END OF SIGNAL STALK AND I INITIALLY CONCLUDED I POSSIBLY TWIST THE STALK IN A SLIGHT NATURE WHEN DRIVING TO CAUSE THE ISSUE BUT LATER CONCLUDED THE DIAL IS EXTREMELY SENSITIVE TO TOUCH. I OFTEN KEEP THE LIGHT DIAL IN "AUTO" AND USUALLY ONLY HAVE IT IN "ON" DURING RAIN CONDITIONS. SAFETY CONCERN IS RELEVANT TO NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE MOMENTARILY WHILE TURNING OR ONCOMING TRAFFIC THINKING I AM FLASHING MY LIGHTS TO SIGNAL THEM TO GO INSTEAD OF ME CAUSING US TO TURN AT THE SAME TIME. OVER THE PAST THREE TIMES DRIVING THIS WEEK, I HAVE WITNESSED MY LIGHTS TURNING ON FOR ABOUT A MINUTE AND THEN BACK OFF WHILE IN "AUTO" DRIVING IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT AND NO SHADE (OCCURRED TWICE IN ONE DRIVE) AND NO SIGNAL STALK MANIPULATION. THIS EVENT CAUSED ME TO TAKE THE LIGHTS TO "OFF" WHICH ON MY NEXT EXCURSION CAUSE THEM TO FLICKER ON AND THEN OFF WHILE SIGNALING RIGHT IN CITY CONDITIONS.
ALTERNATOR VOLTAGE GOES FROM 11.7 TO 13.2 WITH NO CHANGE IN LOADS. CAN VISUALLY SEE OIL LEAK ON ALTERNATOR. LEAK WAS RECALLED IN 2014 WAS SUPPOSED TO BE CORRECTED NOW RE-OCCURRING
VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING IN SUBDIVISION WAS UNABLE TO TURN STEERING WHEEL. TOOK TO REPAIR SHOP ADVISED THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PAID TO HAVE REPLACED. NOTICED A RECALL ON THE VERACRUZ THAT WAS NEVER ADDRESSED. ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE THE RECALL STATED ALTERNATOR AND GASKET WOULD BE AFFECTED BUT HYUNDAI IS STATING IT IS ONLY FOR THE OIL AND GASKET NOT ALTERNATOR.
THE 2012 VERACRUZ WAS PURCHASED IN AUGUST 2015, FROM WALDORF HYUNDAI, WALDORF MARYLAND. DECEMBER OF 2015, THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BATTERY UNDER WARRANTY. 2016, THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. 2017 THE SPARK PLUGS FAILED AND WAS REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE. 2018 THE VALVE COVER GASKET FAILED AND THE DEALERSHIP (WALDORF HYUNDAI) REFUSE TO COVER THE REPAIR COST. UNDER PROTEST AND A COMPLAINT FILED WITH HYUNDAI CORPORATE JULY 2018, THE GASKET WAS REPAIRED. JANUARY 2019, THE SPARK PLUGS FAILED AND THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO COVER THE REPAIR. SECOND COMPLAINT FILED WITH HYUNDAI CORPORATE, AND CURRENTLY WE ARE DISPUTING IF HYUNDAI SHOULD COVER THE REPAIR COST. UPON PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE, THE DEALERSHIP NEVER DISCLOSED THE 2014 RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE. THE GASKET HAS FAILED AT LEAST TWICE SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE AND THE ALTERNATOR, SPARK PLUGS, AND BATTERY HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY EACH TIME HAVING TO BE TOWED TO WALDORF, HYUNDAI. THE VEHICLE IS A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, AND HAS PROVEN TO BE UNRELIABLE. HYUNDAI DOES NOT HAVE A SOLUTION TO THE RECALL ( 14V415000) IN 2014, AND THE VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SOLD. THE VEHICLE SERVICE RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE DEALERSHIP.
HEADLIGHTS TURNING ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH/STALK ON STEERING WHEEL. HAPPENS WHILE STOPPED, DRIVING ON STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. SEEMS TO OCCUR MORE OFTEN WHILE MAKING TURNS.
THIS IS REGARDING A RECALL TO MY 2012 HYUNDAI VERACRUZ. IN NOVEMBER 2014 I HAD THE FRONT VALVE COVER REPLACED UNDER A RECALL BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING. IT RECENTLY STARTED LEAKING AGAIN. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. I WRITING TO INFORM YOU THAT THIS IS STILL AN ISSUE. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 63K MILES ON IT, ALL MAINTENANCE IS PERFORMED ON OR AHEAD OF SCHEDULE AND IS GARAGE KEPT. I PAID FOR THE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET AT A REPAIR SHOP OTHER THAN THE DEALER. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD REOCCUR WITH 4 YEARS TO A VEHICLE THAT IS SO WELL MAINTAINED. THE INVOICES FOR BOTH REPAIRS ARE ATTACHED IN A PDF FILE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V415000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) AT SOUTH CHARLOTTE HYUNDAI LOCATED AT 8525 SOUTH BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC 28273 HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SAME DEALER WHO REPAIRED THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED A THIRD TIME AND THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WOULD NOT BE REPAIRED AGAIN FREE OF CHARGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT, OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
