In addition to the brake failure, the contact stated that the vehicle began to shut off while driving at various speeds as an unknown warning light appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and remained at the dealer without being diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed and the contact was informed that the rear brake pads failed and needed to be replaced. The rear brake pads were replaced; however, approximately a month later, the squeaking noise returned. The vehicle was returned to the dealer where the brake pads were cleaned but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 52,344. The consumer stated the manufacture was made aware of the problem. The dealer was unable to assist with the vehicle because there were no recalls listed.
