THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO SHIFT OUT OF REVERSE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN OFF. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP AND STRUCK A CURB. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
VEHICLE ACCELERATES WHEN PUTTING ON BRAKES. THIS HAPPENED ON AT LEAST SIX (6) DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THIS GENERALLY HAPPENS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. THE WORSE INCIDENT INVOLVED APPLYING GREAT PRESSURE ON THE BRAKES TO THE POINT WHERE THE WHEELS WERE SPINNING (BURNING RUBBER), AND THE ONLY WAY TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WAS TO SHIFT THE GEAR INTO NEUTRAL.*AK
AFTER STARTING VEHICLE AND SHIFTING GEAR EITHER IN DRIVE OR REVERSE VEHICLE COMMENCED TO ACCELERATE AT 3000 OR MORE RPMS. THIS PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS. TAKEN TO THE DEALER SHOP, AND THEY INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM.*AK *JB
