DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AS THOUGH THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE STOPPED AFTER COLLIDING WITH CEMENT STEPS. THIS CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS WERE PERFORMED. THE TEST RESULTS WERE SENT TO THE MANUFACTURER AND THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT DISCLOSE THIS INFORMATION TO THE CONTACT. *AK
(1) EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE: NONE. THE CAR HAS BEEN ROUTINELY SERVICED. (2) FAILURE AND ITS CONSEQUENCES: THE CAR, TWICE, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, WOULD SLOW DOWN AND SEEMS TO BE WEIGHED DOWN. THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THE ABS BRAKES GO OFF, AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF. ALSO, ERROR REPORT APPEARS STATING THAT THERE IS A BRAKE FAILURE. IT PUTS ME AT RISK FOR ACCIDENTS BECAUSE ON BOTH OCCASION I WAS DRIVING THE CAR. (3) WHAT WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE: I TOOK THE CAR INTO A JAGUAR DEALER, BUT JAGUAR CAN NOT RECREATE THE ERROR, SO THEY ARE UNWILLING TO REPLACE THE BRAKING SYSTEM. *JB
I APPLIED BRAKE & MADE RIGHT TURN INTO PARKING SPACE. I THEN APPLIED MORE PRESSURE TO BRAKE TO STOP CAR. CAR DID NOT STOP, BUT CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD AS IF I HAD NOT APPLIED MORE PRESSURE TO BRAKE. REALIZING I MAY HIT CURB, I PUSHED BRAKE PEDDLE DOWN HARD, & ADDED LEFT FOOT TO BRAKE PEDAL ALONG WITH RIGHT FOOT. BRAKE PEDAL LOST ALL RESISTANCE, & MY FEET WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR. CAR ACCELERATED FORWARD & CRASHED INTO CEMENT STEPS. CAR WAS TOWED TO JAG AUTHORIZED BODY SHOP, THEN TOWED TO DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. DEALER SENT COMPUTER READOUT TO JAGUAR ENGINEERS TO ANALYZE. THEY COULD NOT "FIND" THE PROBLEM, SO JAGUAR TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM! JUST BECAUSE JAGUAR COULD NOT "FIND" THE PROBLEM, DOES NOT MEAN THERE IS NO PROBLEM! JAGUAR WILL NOT DISCLOSE TO EITHER MYSELF OR DEALER WHAT PARTS WERE TESTED OR RESULTS OF TESTS. JAGUAR JUST SAYS CAR CONFORMS TO MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS. JAGUAR REFUSES TO PUT IN WRITING THAT THIS CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE. ANOTHER INDICATION OF A MALFUNCTION IS THAT 5 DAYS BEFORE THE ACCIDENT I RE- LEASED THIS 2003 CAR. DEALER LOOKED AT THE MILEAGE ON IT AND WROTE IT ON THE LEASE. THEN 5 DAYS LATER WHEN IT CRASHED & GOT TOWED TO THE BODY SHOP, THE BODY SHOP WROTE DOWN THE MILEAGE UPON ARRIVAL. ( CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DRIVEN). MY INSURANCE APPRAISER AND THEIR INVESTIGATOR ALSO WROTE DOWN THAT SAME MILEAGE NUMBER. THE ODOMETER HAD REGISTERED 440 MILES MORE THAN ON THE DATE OF THE LEASE, YET I HAD ACTUALLY ONLY DRIVEN IT A MAXIMUM OF 100 MILES! DEALER & JAGUAR SAID THEY HAVE NO WAY TO DIAGNOSE THIS & PUT BLAME ON CLERICAL ERROR. NO CLERICAL ERROR COULD EXPLAIN 440 MILES! JAGUAR CANNOT EXPLAIN THIS, SO THEY IGNORED I!. THEY CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY THE CAR DID NOT STOP AND ACCELERATED, SO THEY BLAME THAT ON DRIVER ERROR! NOTICING SO MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM JAGUAR OWNERS ON YOUR WEB-SITE FOR THE VERY SAME THING. I BELIEVE THERE IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT JAGUAR REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND CAN'T FIX! *NM *NM
2003 S TYPE WOULD NOT START, TURN SIGNAL STUCK, TRUNK LIGHT INOPERABLE. RAIN SENSORS ARE INOPERABLE. *TS ***NAR*** THE DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY, TURN SIGNAL AND TRUNK SWITCH. THE RAIN SENSOR WAS INOPERABLE. THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. DURING DIAGNOSTIC THE TECHNICIAN FOUND ENGINE MISFIRE CODES. THE ENGINE WAS REPAIRED PER BULLETIN S303-21. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE FAILED. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE CONTROL MODULE WAS REROUTED PER THE RECALL. RIGHT HAND INDICATOR FAILED. THE ABS AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AS WELL AS THE PARKING BRAKE WARNING LIGHT. *NM
2004 JAGUAR S-TYPE NEEDED NEW BRAKES WITH 30,000 MILES ON THEM AND TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *TS THE ABS LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED, A WIPER MOTOR WAS INSTALLED AND THE REAR BRAKE LINE AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED. *JB
I PURCHASED A S-TYPE JAGUAR 2003 JUNE 11, 2002 FROM PARK PLACE JAGUAR HOUSTON, TEXAS, I TOOK THE CAR IN BEFORE 5,000 MILE CHECK UP AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE BRAKES, A FEW MONTHS LATER TOOK THE CAR IN FOR 5,000 MILE CHECK UP COMPLAINED ABOUT THE BRAKES WAS TOLD THAT I NEED A MASTER CYLINDER, CAR WAS LEFT WITH THE DEALERSHIP FOR A WEEK. MONTHS LATER THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. JAGUAR FROM NATIONAL SENT A WRECKER TO PICK UP THE CAR AND DELIVERED IT TO PARK PLACE JAGUAR FOR REPAIR. THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR A WEEK AGAIN. HAD A TIRE TO WEAR OUT DUE TO FAULTY BRAKES, STILL NOTHING WAS DONE REGARDING THE BREAKS, I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE BRAKES HAD BEEN FIXED UNTIL JANUARY 11,2006 WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR IT'S 30,000 MILES CHECK UP AT 29,415 AND WAS INFORMED BY ZACK ADAMS THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT I NEEDED NEW BRAKES AND IT WOULD BE $585.36 I THANK GOD THAT ZAG FINALLY SAW THE PROBLEM NEEDED FIXING. FOR THE REPAIR, I HAVE RECEIPTS UPON YOUR REQUEST FOR THE MANY OF TIMES THE BRAKES WERE ADDRESSED FOR THE WARRANTY WAS OVER, IT IS EVIDENCED THAT I WAS SOLD A CAR WITH FAULTY BRAKES. AND JAGUAR FAILED TO PROVIDED ME WITH THE SAFETY OF MY CAR FOR 2 1/2 YEARS. IF I HAD BEEN A DRIVER THAT RODE THE BRAKES CONSTANTLY ON THE HIGHWAY, I WOULD BE A FATALITY PERSON. JAGUAR WAS NEGLIGENT IN REPAIRING MY CAR SAFELY AND REFUSES TO OWN UP TO THEIR FAILURE. ALSO THE POORLY QUALITY OF TIRES THAT I ALSO REPORTED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS NOT HELPED. I PURCHASED NEW TIRES FROM DISCOUNT SERVICES FOR $539.09. THE CAR WAS NOT SAFE AND A TRAFFIC HAZARD, I CONTACTED THEM SEVERAL TIMES REGARDING ISSUE WITH CAR. IT SHOULD NOT BEEN 2 1/2 YEARS TO GE BREAKS REPAIR WHEN I STARTED COMPLAINING 2 MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASED OF THE CAR. *JB
2003 JAGUAR DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL UP/DOWN. FRONT BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *TS THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS BLOWING OUT HOT AIR, THE DEALER STATED THE EVAPORATOR WAS LEAKING FREON. THE REAR BUMPER WAS BROKEN. THE ABS CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REAR LIGHTS WERE INOPERATIVE. *JB THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THE ODOMETER ON THE VEHICLE WAS ROLLED BACK PRIOR TO PURCHASE AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. *NM
SINCE PURCHASING THIS CAR IT HAS BEEN TOWED 2 TIMES, SERVICED EIGHT TIMES IN A 12 MONTH PERIOD. I FOUND IN THE GLOVE DEPT AFTER PURCHASING THIS CAR A MANUFACTURE DEFECT SIGN .THE CAR KEPT REGISTERING "RESTRICTED PERFORMANCE 3 VISITS. BRAKE PROBLEM,STEERING WHEEL,ABS FAULT. PRESENT PROBLEM:THEY KEPT MY CAR 2 AND HALF MONTHS TO FIX A WHEEL GUARD AND BUMPER RAIL TOLD ME THE COMPRESSOR AND OTHER PROBLEMS EXIST/WOULD COST $2300 TO FIX .MY INSURANCE COMPANY. PAID THEM AND THEN THEY CHARGED MY INS. CO ANOTHER $1300 MORE. I WENT TO PICK UP MY CAR THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO PAY $1600 BECAUSE MY INS URANCE REFUSED TO PAY. WHEN I GOT HOME CAR WOULDN'T START RIGHT /THEN REGISTERED NO ENGINE FLUIDS /CONTACTED THEM ASK IF ISHOULD TRY TO RETURN WITH IT/THEY SPENT 20 MINUTES TOLD ME THE CAR WAS OK /I ASK IF THEY PUT FLUIDS IN THEY SAID,'YES".DROVE THE CAR HOME IN LESS THAN 2 DAYS CAR MONITOR REGISTERED "TRANSMISSION FAULT". I HAVE HAD A LOANER CAR AT LEAST HALF OF THE OWNERSHIP OF THIS CAR. THIS CAR HAS LEFT ME STRAND IN SOME UNSAFE AREAS BECAUSE I HAVE TO TRAVEL TO D.C.. FOR CLASS WORK. NOW ,THEY TOLD ME THAT MY WARRANTY WILL COVER THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM.I FEEL IF THE MAJOR PART OF THE CAR IS BEING REPLACE/THEY NEED TO GIVE ME A ANOTHER CAR TO REPLACE A TOTAL MANUFACTURE DEFECTED CAR.DATES OF SOME OF THE SERVICES PERFORMED ON THIS CAR 01/05, TWICE EACH TIME01/05 ,02/05 ,02/05,08/05,08/18/05 08/26/05,09/07/05,09/10/05,10/04/05,12/05/05 THRU 0303/06 KEPT FOR 2 AND HALF MONTHS. *JB
2003 JAGUAR S TYPE IS NOW ON ITS FIFTH REPLACED CLUTCH AND SECOND STARTER. *** NO ANSWER REQUIRED*** *TS THE CONSUMER WOULD LIKE TO BE ABSOLVED OF THE LEASE AND REFUNDED OF ALL MONIES INVESTED IN THE VEHICLE. *NM
I WAS TRAVELING IN MY CAR AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. I SLOWED FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. AS I WAS COMING TO A STOP (RIGHT FOOT ON THE BRAKE), THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV, THE REAR WHEELS STARTED TO TURN PROPELLING ME FORWARD. I PLACED BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE, PUSHED THE BRAKE TO THE FLOOR, HOWEVER THE RPM GAUGE WAS MOVING TO MAXIMUM AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO PROPEL ME FORWARD. THE REAR END STARTED SLIDING TO THE LEFT. I SLAMMED THE CAR INTO PARK AND THE TIRES STOPPED MOVING, THE RPMS DROPPED, AND THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHORTED RESULTING IN TAKING THE RADIO OFFLINE AND TO STATION 600 AM. I WAS ABLE TO AVOID THE STOPPED VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME BY 2 INCHES. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS EVALUATED APPROX 1 MONTH AGO FOR THE SAME TYPE OF FAILURE, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE EVENT. OF NOTE, ON DECEMBER 13, 2004, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO REVERSE AND WOULD NOT COME OUT OF REVERSE. THE VEHICLE WAS EVALUATED BY THE DEALERSHIP, THE GEAR SHIFT WAS REPLACED, THE TRANS CABLE BOLT HAD FALLEN OUT, IT WAS REPLACED, AND THE CABLE WAS ADJUSTED. *JB
DEFECTIVE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR CAUSING REAR BRAKE PADS TO WEAROUT PREMATURELY. *NM
UNINTENDED AND OUT OF CONTROL ACCELERATION I HAD STOPPED THE CAR WAITING FOR A PARKING PLACE AT THE CLINIC. I BACKED UP A FEW FEET TO ALLOW A CAR TO BACK OUT OF THE SPACE I WANTED. I STARTED TO MOVE SLOWLY INTO THE HEAD IN PARKING SPACE WITH MY LEFT FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE WHEN THE CAR ACCELERATED RAPIDLY WITH A ROAR. WITH BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BUT NOT BEFORE IT JUMPED THE CURB AT THE END OF THE PARKING SPACE AND HIT THE CONCRETE BASE OF A LAMP POST, DAMAGING THE FRONT BUMPER. THE ENGINE QUICKLY RETURNED TO IDLE AFTER A FEW SECONDS. A PERSON STANDING AT THE END OF THE PARKING SPACE WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. THE CAR WAS DELIVERED TO WOBURN JAGUAR AND IDENTIFIED AS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. WOBURN JAGUAR CLAIMED TO HAVE RECONFIGURED THE ECM AND TCM BUT CLAIMED THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. JAGUAR NJ WAS NOTIFIED BUT AGAIN OFFERED NO HELP OR ADVICE ABOUT THE UNINTENTIONAL ACCELERATION. *TR
VEHICLE WAS RETURNED ON (THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS) TO DEALER IN TWO DIFFERENT STATES TO CORRECT GRINDING SOUND NEAR FRONT WHEELS BETWEEN NOVEMBER 2003 AND JUNE 2005. VEHICLE SPRUNG A BROKEN FUEL LINE SOME TIME IN LATE 2004. VEHICLE REAR BRAKES LOCKED ON FREEWAY RAMP JULY, 2005 TWO WEEKS AFTER DEALER HAD INSTALLED NEW REAR BRAKE PADS. THE VEHICLE HAS TOO MANY DEFECTS IN VARIOUS AREAS FOR A THREE YEAR OLD. MY FEAR IS THAT THERE IS MORE TO SURFACE AND I WILL BE HOLDING A LEMON IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE.
2003 JAGUAR S TYPE EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGING WHILE DRIVING.*MR WHEN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE APPLIED, IT CAUSED PREMATURE WEAR OF THE REAR BRAKES AND TIRES. ALSO CONTRIBUTING TO THE PREMATURE WEAR OF THE TIRES WERE PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, BUT THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES AND TIRES. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP ON 3 OCCASIONS FOR A JERK IN THE TRANSMISSION. PRIOR TO PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION, HOWEVER THE DEALER FAILED TO DISCLOSE THE INFORMATION TO THE CONSUMER. THE CONSUMER STATED ONE TIME SHE PLACED THE GEAR INTO DRIVE, BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE, THINKING SHE HAD PLACED IT INTO THE WRONG GEAR, SHE LOOKED DOWN AND THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH REAR BRAKES LOCKED, AND THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD ILLUMINATED AND BEGAN FLASHING. THE DRIVER HAD DIFFICULTY STEERING THE VEHICLE. IT WENT INTO A SPIN ,CAUSING THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE TO HIT THE CONCRETE DIVIDER. ALSO, THE STEERING COLUMN BROKE WHEN THE BRAKE MODULE BROKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. *AK THE ENGINEERS COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. *SC
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE WITH HER FOOT ON THE BRAKE, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE SCREECHED AND SHOT OUT OF THE DETACHED GARAGE WHERE OTHER VEHICLES WERE LINED UP ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RESIDENTIAL SUBDIVISION AND HIT TWO OTHER VEHICLES ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET ABOUT 40 FEET AWAY. THE SERVICE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. ON JUNE 11, 2006, THIS HAPPENED AGAIN IN A PARKING LOT. DURING THIS INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE AND AGAIN THE BRAKES FAILED AND HIT THE VEHICLE BEHIND THEM. *AK UPDATED 07/14/06. *JB
AT LEAST 6 TIMES THIS 2003 JAGUAR X-TYPE 2.5 AUTOMATIC; WOULD SUDDENLY ACCELERATE AFTER EXITING CAR WHILE RUNNING IN PARK, THEN REENTERING CAR, PUT FOOT ON BRAKE AND PUT CAR IN DRIVE THEN THE ENGINE STARTS RACING AND THE CAR TRIES TO MOVE EVEN WHEN STANDIING ON THE BRAKE AS HARD AS POSSIBLE. VERY DANGEROUS, IF FOOT SLIPPED OFF BRAKE, MIGHT GET KILLED. DOES THIS ON LEVEL GROUND AND ON INCLINES. ONCE ALMOST SHOT ME THROUGH MY GARAGE. TOOK TO DEALER, STILL UNDER WARANTY, CAN'T FIND ANY THING WRONG.*AK
CONSUMER'S WIFE WAS TRAVELING AT ABOUT 55 MPH AND VEHICLE HIT A POT HOLE. THE IMPACT BROKE THE ENTIRE TIRE RIM. CONSUMER TOOK THE RIM TO THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD THAT JAGUAR NO LONGER MADE THIS TYPE OF TIRE RIM, AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO EXCHANGE ALL THE RIMS, BUT WOULD ONLY BE CHARGED FOR ONE. *AK
MULTIPLE FAILURES; GAS TANK CABLE, THERMOSTAT, CONDENSER, REAR /FRONT SUSPENSION AND STEERING COLUMN. *BF VEHICLE HAD 5 FLAT TIRES THE GAS TANK CABLE WAS BAD. THE THERMOSTAT HAD TO BE REPLACED. REAR SUSPENSION HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE BBB. JAGUAR WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THE WARRANTY. *TC
ON AUGUST 2003 WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH REAR BRAKES FAILED, AND THEN OFF AND ON THROUGH SEPTEMBER 2004. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO REPAIR SHOP, AND DEALER SAW NOTHING WRONG. CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP. THEN, ON OCTOBER 16, 2004, THE GEAR BOX STARTED SHIFTING IN REVERSE ON ITS OWN. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER, AND CONSUMER WAS INFORMED A BOLT FELL OFF THE GEAR BOX. THE BOLT WAS REPLACED BY THE MECHANIC, BUT THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
IN THE 1 1/2 YEARS THAT I HAVE OWNED MY VEHICLE IT HAS BEEN INT HE SHOP 15 TIMES FOR VARIOUS REASONS: ELECTRICAL, TRANSMISSION, FRONT END PROBLEMS, STEERING, ACCELERATIONS ETC...JAGUAR HAS BEEN DRAGGING THEIR FEET FOR 4 MONTHS IN RECTIFYING PROBLEMS. CONSUMER AFFIARS IS WORTHLESS AND HAVE ACCUSED ME OF "OUTGROWING" MY CAR. NOT CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS JUST DOESN'T WANT THEIR CAR BACK.*AK
PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE'S ENGINE AND FUEL PUMP. *MR THE VEHICLE WOULD SPUTTER AND JOLT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME ON, IT TURNED OUT THAT ONE OF THE INJECTOR PLUGS WERE NOT FULLY CONNECTED AND THE FUEL SYSTEM NEEDED REPAIRS AND PARTS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LEAK GASOLINE. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED A NEW VEHICLE WITH NO RECALLS OR PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM. *SC *JB
CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THAT REAR BRAKES HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 15,000 MILES.*AK
WITHOUT WARNING VEHICLE LOST POWER. THIS CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO PULL OF THE ROAD. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED TRANSMISSION FAILED. *AK
UNINTENDED AND OUT OF CONTROL ACCELERATION I WAS SLOWLY PULLING OUT OF A PARALLEL PARKING PLACE WITH MY LEFT FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE. THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITH THE ENGINE SPEEDING. WHEN THE PARK BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON, THE CAR MUST BE IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AND RE-STARTED. RE-STARTING THE VEHICLE RESETS THE MESSAGES. THIS PROBLEM IS CURRENTLY BEING WORKED ON AT THE DEALER. THE COOLANT LOW WARNING LIGHT DISPLAYED. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, WE TOPPED OF THE COOLANT. WITHIN 1 MONTH IT WAS DISPLAYING AGAIN. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER. THEY ATTRIBUTED THE PROBLEM TO A LOOSE CLAMP. THEY REPLACED THE CLAMPS. THEY ALSO REPLACED A BELT BECAUSE THE COOLANT HAD BEEN DRIPPING ONTO IT CAUSING IT TO DEGRADE. WITHIN 2 MONTHS, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. WE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER. THIS TIME THEY REPLACED ALL OF THE HOSES.*AK

DSC AND PARK BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. MOMENTS LATER, FLAMES SHOT FROM RIGHT FRONT ENGINE COMPARTMENT BETWEEN HOOD AND FENDER. EXITED CAR AND CALLED FD AND JAG SERVICE MGR FOR TOW TRUCK. EXPERIENCED BURNING EYES AND INSIDE OF LIPS PEELED NEXT DAY FROM ACID BURNS (BURNING PVC EMITS CHLORINE GAS OR HCL GAS THAT IS CORROSIVE WHEN WET - AS IN EYES AND LIPS. JAGUAR NA NOT RESPONSIVE TO ANY DEGREE TO DATE - WANT MY COMPANY TO FILE INSURANCE CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. INS ADJUSTER PROVIDED OPINION THAT IT WAS JUST ELECTRICAL FAULT FROM EITHER: ALTERNATOR RAN AWAY; OR ABS SOLENOID OVERHEATED; OR FUSEBLOCK SHORTED; OR VOLTAGE REG. SHORTED. ALL WERE APPARENTLY DAMAGED BEYOND RECOGNITION. INITIAL ESTIMATE TO REPAIR SET AT $20,000. LATENT SMELL IN CAR WILL BE DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE TO CORRECT. DEALER STATES ROAD HAZARD. BOTH BLOWOUTS WERE ON SIDEWALL BELOW TREAD. TIRES APPEARS TO FAIL UNDER SPEED. *AK

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER A SECOND TIME WHEN THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED OF THREE ADDITIONAL LEAKS ON THE ENGINE'S FIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RELATED TO THE NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS NEVER DETERMINED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,707.
CLIMATE CONTROL AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM DO NOT WORK TOGETHER. WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMP REACHES 85 OR ABOVE THE A/C WILL NOT WORK. I MUST TURN THE CAR OFF TO RESET. IF THE OUTSIDE TEMP IS BELOW 45, THE HEAT DOES NOT WORK. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE FIX WILL BE OUT IN FEB OF 2004. THIS PROBLEM STARTED IN JUNE OF 2003. I HAVE MADE DOZENS OF CALLS TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND NATIONAL. THE GEAR BOX MALFUNCTIONED. *JB THE TRANSMISSION STUCK IN LOW GEAR. THERE WAS DOUBLE HESITATION WHEN MOVING FROM LOW GEAR (IN AUTOMATIC MOVE), AND DID NOT OCCUR BEFORE THE LAST GEAR BOX FAULT. THE A/C SCREEN BLINKED ON/OFF. THE AUDIO UNIT WAS REPROGRAMMED, THE MODULE WAS RECONFIGURED, THE GEAR SELECTOR WAS REPLACED, AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. *SCC
