REGULAR CAR OPERATION ON TYPICAL ROADS, ALL 4 TIRES BOUGHT 2007, 30,000 MILES HAVE INNER WALL AXIAL CRACKS WIDE AND DEEP ALL THE WAY AROUND THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE TIRE AND REQUIRE IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT BEFORE AN ACCIDENT HAPPENS. *TR
HAD ON JAG X TYPE CONTI TOURING CONTACT 205/55 16 HAD FOUR OF THESE TIRES ALL AT SEPARATE TIMES HAVE SIDEWALL FAILURES. 2 REAR TIRES HAD BULGES AFTER A POTHOLE. ONE FRONT TIRE GOING INTO CAR WASH CUT SIDEWALL--OWNER NEVER SAW THIS HAPPEN BEFORE. ANOTHER TIRE RECENTLY PULLING INTO PARKING SPACE CURB WAS SCRUBBED AND IT CUT SIDEWALL. CLEARLY THESE TIRES HAVE VERY POOR SIDEWALL CONSTRUCTION. HEARD PROBLEMS ON THE NET LIKE THIS FROM OTHERS AS WELL. *TR
IN SUMMER OF 2007, TOOK 2003 X-TYPE TO REPAIR SHOP. ALL FOUR TIRES HAD SLITS IN THE SIDE WALLS WIDE ENOUGH TO INSERT DIMES AND HAVE THEM STAY THERE. REPAIR SHOP REPLACED TIRES AND SAID RIM TOO LARGE, TIRE SIDEWALL TOO SMALL FOR WEIGHT OF CAR. REPLACED TIRES AT COST, BECAUSE I AM LONG TIME CUSTOMER. ON 9/9/07 HAD SPONTANEOUSLY SIDEWALL BLOWOUT ON DRIVER REAR TIRE ON I-695 IN BALTIMORE ON I-95 EXIT RAMP. SIDEWALL HAD A HOLE 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER. I HAD TO DRIVE TO REST AREA. REPAIR SHOP OWNER SAID HE WOULD SELL CAR IF HE WERE ME OR REPLACE RIMS WITH SMALLER ONES. SAID TIRE TOO BADLY TOO DAMAGED BY DRIVING AFTER BLOWOUT TO GET REPLACEMENT. *TR
I OWN A 2003 XK8 JAGUAR CONVERTIBLE WITH STANDARD FACTORY WHEELS.. MY TIRE WENT FLAT WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE FLAT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE WHEEL HAD CRACKED ON THE INSIDE OF THE WHEEL, CAUSING THE AIR TO LEAK FROM THE TIRE. THE WHEEL WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY MAJOR COLLISION BUT DID SHOW CURB BUMP DAMAGE ON THE OUTSIDE AND A SMALL AREA OF FLATTENING ON THE INSIDE. NO DIRECT DAMAGE TO THE AREA OF THE CRACK. OBVIOUSLY, A WHEEL SHOULD NOT TRACK FROM MINOR ROAD HAZARDS. I BECAME MOST SUSPICIOUS WHEN I TRIED TO REPLACE THE WHEEL AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE WHEEL HAD BEEN DISCONTINUED. I CONCLUDED THAT THE WHEEL MANUFACTURE HAD EITHER MADE DEFECTIVE WHEELS OR ? MY JAGUAR DEALER IS IN WESTLAKE VILLAGE /THOUSAND OAKS CA. A DEALER IN SAN FRANCISCO APPARENTLY CONTACTED MY DEALER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS COULD BE A HIGHLY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY. IT IS NOT REASONABLE THAT A WHEEL WOULD CRACK WITHOUT SUBSTANTIAL IMPACT. *NM
TIRES CONTINUALLY BLOW OUT DUE TO DEFECTIVE RIMS. *JB
MY 2003 LEASED JAGUAR WAS RECENTLY SERVICED AT 19,000 MILES. MY FRONT TIRES WERE LOSING AIR AND ASKED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT FIND OUT WHY. I WAS TOLD THE FRONT RIMS WERE BENT AND THE TIRES WERE WORN ON THE INSIDE. THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THIS CAR WAS RECALLED ONCE AND I HAD TO BE TOWED TWICE DUE TO PROBLEMS WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING NOT WORKING PROPERLY DUE TO MANUFACTURER PROBLEM AND THE RADIATOR'S CLAMP COMING LOOSE, WHICH IS ALSO A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM. AT 19,000 MILES BENT RIMS AND NEW TIRES ARE OBSURED.*AK
MY 2003 X-TYPE JAGUAR HAS GONE THROUGH 5 BENT WHEELS AND APPROX 9 TIRES. JAGUAR IS NOT HONORING THE WARRANTY AND CLAIMS IT WAS CAUSED BY ROAD HAZARDS. THIS ALL HAPPEND AT DIFFERENT TIMES IN THE LAST 1 1/2 YEARS. THE CAR WAS NEVER DRIVEN OFF ROAD OR IN POT HOLES OR UNREASONABLE DEVIATIONS IN THE ROAD. THE COST TO REPAIR IS OVER $4700 PLUS I AM PAYING FOR A RENTAL CAR AT $20/DAY. *AK
I HAVE HAD 5 SEPRATE BLOW OUTS HITING SMALL POT HOLES AT SPEEDS OF UNDER 35 MPH THE SIDE WALLS BLEW IN ALL CASES AND IN TWO CASES THE RIMS BENT . A TIRE EXPERT TOLD ME THAT THE CAR IS TO HEAVY FOR THE TIRE AND RIMS !!*AK
ALL 4 TIRES ARE OUT OF ROUND, AND THE TREAD IS SEPARATING. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. SIZE 225/45R17.*AK

THE TIRE HAD A SLIT ON THE OUTSIDE SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE TREADS. DURING INSPECTION, IT TURNED OUT THAT A DIFFERENT TIRE HAD A BULGE AND THAT ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED. ONE OF THE REPLACEMENT TIRES STARTED TO LOSE AIR. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE BRAND NEW TIRE ALSO HAD A SLIT IN THE SAME PLACE AS THE FIRST TWO TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN OVER A POTHOLE AGAIN AND THE NEXT MORNING THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE TIRE HAD A SLIT IN THE SAME PLACE AS THE OTHERS. *SC *JB
