Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)EARLY ONE MORNING WE FOUND OUR CAR ENGULFED IN FLAMES. FIRE APPARENTLY STARTED IN TRUNK AREA, WHERE BATTERY IS CONTAINED. THE CAR HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN THAT DAY. FIRE 'INVESTIGATION' REVEALED NOTHING. CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS. THIS MODEL HAD A RECALL THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED 5 WEEKS PRIOR TO MY CAR BEING MANUFACTURED. I DON'T BELIEVE IT IS TRULY FIXED. NO ONE--NOT INSURANCE, JAGUAR OR DOT HERE SEEMS TO CARE A CAR BURST INTO FLAME AND WAS A 100K LOSS! IT WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. I FEEL THIS IS DANGEROUS FOR OTHER 2015 XJL SUPERCHARGED OWNERS. IF I'D BEEN DRIVING, I COULD HAVE EASILY PERISHED OR CAUSED A MAJOR INCIDENT ON A HIGHWAY INVOLVING OTHERS.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
