WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS COMPUTER FAILURES, WHICH CAUSED A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER, MANUAL STEERING, AND BRAKING ABILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FIVE TIMES. EACH TIME, THE DEALER DIAGNOSES A DIFFERENT FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE SYMPTOMS ARE ALWAYS THE SAME. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED THREE TIMES AND THEY ENHANCED THE COMPUTER PROGRAM AND REPLACED THE ABS. THE FAILURES ARE TEMPORARILY CORRECTED FOR APPROXIMATELY A WEEK, BUT THEN RECUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 1,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,500.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
