PARKING BRAKE LOCKED UP ,CAR COULD NOT MOVE AN HAD TO BE TOWED, THIS HAPPENED WHILE IN A LOT.
TRANSMISSION SHIFT INDICATOR LIGHTS WILL COME ON (ALL OF THEM) RANDOMLY, AND WILL GO OFF AFTER STOPPING AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE. THIS IS DIFFICULT TO DO WHEN TRAVELING ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY
I SEPTEMBER I DID THE SAFETY RECALL ON MY JEEP. MY CAR STILL DOES NOT GO WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS (IT DOESNT DO IT ALWAYS) FROM A STOP. I WAS ALMOST SIDE SWIPED WAITING FOR THE JEEP TO DECIDE TO GO. THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM AND I WAS HOPEFUL WHEN THERE WAS FINALLY A RECALL. NOW THAT MY DAUGHTER IS ABOUT TO TURN 16 SHE IS PETRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE. AND I DONT BLAME HER. IF I HAD THE MONEY I WOULD BUY A NEW VEHICLE. I JUST WANT TO FEEL SAFE WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS TO GO FROM A STOP. I DONT WANT THE VEHICLE TO HESITATE IN GOING.
THE "SERVICE SHIFTER" ALARM COMES ON WHILE I AM DRIVING AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE GEAR SHIFT LIGHT UP RES. P RDN, ALL OF IT. THE CAR STILL RUNS. THIS HAS HAPPENED 8 TIMES NOW. I PULL OVER AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURN IT OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON AND IT IS ALL OKAY. THE DEALER SAID IT JUST NEEDS AN UPDATE. DID THAT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED BUT IS HAPPENING AGAIN AND AGAIN.
WHEN I AM DRIVING MY CAR WILL SHIFT ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL AND STALL OUT AND THEN IT WILL SHUT OFF WHEN I AM TRAVELING 70 MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THEN WHEN I HAVE TO TURN IT BACK ON I HAVE TO TURN THE KEY THEN SHIFT MY CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND LET IT COAST A LITTLE SO THAT WAY IT WILL TURN OVER. IT HAS DONE THIS 6 TIMES NOW AND THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED IT BROKE DOWN AND IT WOULD NOT START BACK UP. THE LAST THREE TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY, TRAVELING ABOUT 70 MPH. WHEN IT HAPPENED ABOUT THE THIRD TIME A DIFFERENT LIGHT CAME ON SAYING MY THROTTLE PEDDLE WAS GOING BAD AND THAT THE IGNITION WAS GOING BAD AS WELL. I TOOK IT TO GO GET THE CODES READ BUT EVERY WHERE I TOOK THEY WERE SAYING THEY COULD NOT HELP ME AND THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR IT. MEANWHILE MY FIANCE AND I LOOKED UP RECALLS ON THE JEEP CHEROKEES AND THERE IS RECALLS ON THE TRANSMISSIONS AND OTHER THINGS AS WELL. AND ALL THE RECALLS ARE FOR THE 6 CYLINDER JEEPS BUT MY JEEP IS HAVING ALL THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT THE 6 CYLINDER JEEPS ARE HAVING. BUT NO ONE WILL HELP FIX IT. I HAVE TALKED TO CHRYSLER CORPORATION 2 TIMES AN EACH TIME WE TALK TO THEM THEY SAY IT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM AND THAT IT IS OUR PROBLEM. MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND IT DO NOT TRUST TO EVEN HAVE MY FAMILY IN IT.
I TOOK MY 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE IN FOR A RECALL NOTICE TO HAVE SHIFT POINTS CHANGED. UPON RECEIVING THE VEHICLE BACK I NOTICED A THUMPING NOISE WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EXCELERATING. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP TO INFORM THEM THE RECALL DIDNT WORK, TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. WAS INFORMED THAT A NEW POWER TRANSFER UNIT (PTU) NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED AND THAT IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL. I WAS INFORMED THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED IN APRIL OF 2019 EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 69500 MILES ON IT. AFTER TWO WEEK OF THE VEHICLE BEING IN THE SHOP I CONTACTED THEM AND WAS TOLD THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED AND IT WASN'T THE PTU. I HAD THE REPAIRS MADE ONLY TO FIND OUT A "CERTIFIED" USED TRANSMISSION WAS INSTALLED AND HAS TO BE RETURNED AS THERE IS A HESITATION BETWEEN SHIFT BETWEEN 2 AND 3 GEAR.
2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT COMING ON; CAUSED BY UNDERSEATS JAMMED WIRES. *AS THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW WIRING HARNESS. THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.*JS
MY CAR STARTS TO STALL, SLOW DOWN THEN JERKS AND DOESN'T MOVE AFTERWARDS. THEN A MESSAGE COMES UP SAYING 'SHIFT TO P, THEN DESIRED GEAR' AND I HAVE TO SHUT THE CAR OFF ABOUT 4 TIMES BEFORE BEING ABLE TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. THIS IS WHILE I WAS DRIVING HEADING TO WORK, WHILE AT A GREEN LIGHT.
WAS DRIVING HOME LAST SATURDAY NIGHT. 10-26-19, ALL OF THE SUDDEN ANTILOCK LIGHT WARNING APPEARED, PARKING BRAKE WARNING, 4X4 SYSTEM. TRACTION CONTROL, AND SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING. I PULLED OVER, SHUT VEHICLE OFF, ONCE RESTARTED IT WAS ALL OFF, THEN I DROVE ABOUT 10 MILES UP.THE ROAD. IT CAME ON AGAIN ALL LIGHTS AND WARNINGS, WHEN YOUR DRIVING BETWEEN 40-55 MPH, IT SEEMS TO ACCELERATE AND THEN DECELERATE. AS IF SOMEONE WAS GIVING IT GAS AND THEN LETTING OFF OF THE PEDAL, IS HOW I CAN DESCRIBE IT. I STARTED IT ON TODAY 10-28-19, IT'S STILL DRIVING THE SAME WAY WITH ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON. CODE READER DOESN'T SHOW ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. VEHICLE HAS 61,640 MILES ON IT. 2.4L, 9 SPEED TRANSMISSION.
EVERY FEW WEEKS, I WILL GET A WARNING THAT FLASHING ON MY DISPLAY WHILE DRIVING SAYING "SHIFT INTO P BEFORE SHIFTING TO DESIRED GEAR", AND THE ENGINE DIES A COUPLE SECONDS LATER. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON COLD DAYS, WARM DAYS, FLAT ROADS, HILLS, AND TURNS. RURAL ROADS WITH LOW SPEEDS AS WELL AS THE INTERSTATE AT 60+ MPH. TAKES ABOUT 2 MINUTES BEFORE THE CAR WILL RESTART AND HAS LEFT ME IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, CAUSING A DANGER TO MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS. MOST COMMONLY HAPPENS WHEN MY OIL LIFE IS BELOW 30%, BUT HAS OCCURRED AT OTHER TIMES AS WELL.
SERVICE SHIFTER FLASHES ACROSS DASH. ALL OF THE GEAR LIGHTS REMAIN LIT. CAR JERKS HARD INTO GEAR. CAR WILL ONLY MOVE IN REVERSE. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL TRANSMISSION RELATED ISSUES REPAIRED BY THE JEEP DEALERSHIP SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JUNE 2017. 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE I STARTED HAVING TRANSMISSION RELATED ISSUES. ON 10/25/19, CAR WOULD NO LONGER SHIFT INTO DRIVE. I AM LIVID ABOUT THE SITUATION. WHILE STILL PAYING A CAR NOTE, I'M TOLD I NEED TO PAY 5600 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A STRAIGHT, FLAT ROAD ABOUT APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION AND A LIGHT WHICH JUST TURNED GREEN. WAS GOING ABOUT 25-30 MPH AT THE MOMENT WHEN IT SOUNDED AND FELT LIKE A TIRE POPPED IN THE REAR OF THE JEEP. I ROLLED TO A STOP, PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE AND NOTICED THE TIRE WASN'T POPPED, BUT THAT MY REAR PASSENGER TIRE WAS NOW RESTING ON THE WHEEL WELL. I GOT DOWN TO LOOK UNDER AND SAW THAT A THICK METAL BAR HAD SNAPPED IN HALF, WHICH IN TURN SNAPPED MY AXEL, AND RIPPED MY SUSPENSION OUT WITH IT. I GOT THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE LOCAL SHOP, THEY LOOKED AT IT AND SAID THEY HAD NEVER SEEN THIS HAPPEN BEFORE. WHEN TOWING THE JEEP, THEY NEEDED TO WRAP IT WITH EXTRA STRAPS SINCE THE DAMAGE WAS SO SIGNIFICANT THEY COULD NOT TIE THE CHAINS UNDER THE CAR IN THE REAR. I AM CURRENTLY TRYING TO GET JEEP TO SEND AN EVALUATOR. I CURRENTLY HAVE A CASE OPEN WITH THEM.
SHIFT SERVICE WARNING - 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE HAS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS FOR SOME TIME WITH HESITATION WHEN SHIFTING INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE (LOUD BANGING NOISE WHEN INITIALLY SHIFTING). CAR HAS 113,000 MILES CURRENT, BUT ISSUE STARTED AT 85,000. @ DEALERSHIPS DID DIFFERENT WORK SAYING IT WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM (REPLACE FRONT CV SHAFTS AND REAR DRIVE SHAFT AT HIGH COST AND PROBLEM STILL EXISTED). NOW I AM GETTING A SHIFTER SERVICE WARNING LIGHT AND BANGING BETWEEN GEARS GETTING WORSE. 95% OF MILEAGE HAS BEEN HIGHWAY WITH NO STOP AND GO, SO THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AND SHOULD BE A NATIONAL RECALL ON THE DRIVE SYSTEM. RESEARCHING THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS ISSUE ARE MASSIVE
TRANSMISSION FAILED OR SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 75 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I HAD TO PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON THEN DROVE FINE. THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE THE FUEL TANK WAS FULL, THE VEHICLE JERKED AND SHUDDERED. ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. AFTER DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 700 FEET, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FREEDOM CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM BY ED MORSE (815 E CAMP WISDOM RD, DUNCANVILLE, TX 75116) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY AAA TO THE DEALER FOR A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE STILL COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,700.
WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE STALLS OUT. IT HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM BUT A GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWS THAT IT IS A COMMON ISSUE LEAVING PEOPLE STRANDED IN DANGEROUS PLACES.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AFTER I'VE FILLED THE GAS TANK, THE CAR STARTS SPUTTERING AND EVEN STALLING WITHIN 1/4 MILE OF THE GAS STATION, CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS COME ON, AND I GET A WARNING TO STOP AND PUT THE CAR INTO PARK THEN CHOOSE THE GEAR I WANT. AFTER A FEW MILES' DRIVING THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED IN OCTOBER2018 I HAD IT TOWED TO A JEEP SERVICE CENTER, AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A FUEL PUMP PROBLEM (CODE P1DDD), BUT BECAUSE THE SPUTTERING WAS NO LONGER OCCURRING, I REFUSED REPAIR AT THAT TIME. SIX WEEKS LATER ON DEC 4TH 2018 AFTER FILLING THE TANK, IT HAPPENED A SECOND TIME; THE CAR STALLED COMPLETELY AS I WAS MAKING A LEFT-TURN AT AN INTERSECTION IN BUSY LOS ANGELES TRAFFIC, PUTTING ME AT RISK OF A COLLISION. I MANAGED TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, THEN DRIVE AND SPUTTERED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. AGAIN, THE PROBLEM RESOLVED AFTER A FEW MILES' DRIVING TO THE JEEP SERVICE CENTER AND SO I AGAIN REFUSED REPAIR. THE SAME SPUTTERING AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK HAS HAPPENED OCCASIONALLY OVER THIS YEAR. MOST RECENTLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (CEL) CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY A FEW DAYS BEFORE FILLING THE TANK; WHEN THE SPUTTERING/STALLING OCCURRED THIS TIME I RETURNED TO A JEEP SERVICE CENTER, BECAUSE OF THE CEL ALSO BEING ON AROUND THAT TIME. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A FUEL CANISTER PROBLEM CODE (PO456). THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN OBSERVED BY JEEP OWNERS OF MULTIPLE MODELS FOR OVER A DECADE (SEE HTTPS://WWW.CARGURUS.COM/CARS/DISCUSSION-T29898_DS631498) AND IS PUTTING PEOPLE'S LIVES IN DANGER. AS I WAS DRIVING HOME THE SERVICE SHIFTER MESSAGE CAME ON AFTER I BACKED OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT AND SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. MY DISPLAY AND WOULD NOT CLEAR. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE I FOUND THAT THERE IS A WHOLE GROUP OF JEEP OWNERS THAT HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE. DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THE CAR FOR LESS THAN 48 HOURS AND AM QUESTIONING RETURNING IT TO THE LOT AFTER A MECHANIC TAKES A LOOK INTO IT.
MY CAR DEVELOPED AN OIL LEAK, SLOW BUT STEADY, AND AFTER TAKING IT IN TO BE CHECKED WE LEARNED THAT THERE WAS A LARGE CRACK IN THE OIL FILTER HOUSING ASSEMBLY. THIS ALONG WITH UPPER AND LOWER GASKETS, WILL NEED TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED TO THE TUNE OF $500-900. THIS PIECE IS PLASTIC, SO IS EASY TO CRACK IF THE FILTER IS OVER TIGHTENED. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED WITH SOMETHING STURDIER.
AFTER FILLING THE TANK, CAR STALLS OR COMPUTER SHUTS DOWN, DURING OPERATION, AFTER TAKING FOOT OF ACCELERATOR, FOR APPROX 15 MILES. DEALER INITIALLY SAID IT WAS WAS VAPOR CANISTER AND REPLACED. NEXT FILL UP AFTER REPLACEMENT, CONTINUED TO STALL AFTER FILL UP. DEALERSHIP SAID THEY CALLED FCA AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS PROBLEMS WITH ROLLOVER VENT VALVE CAUSING IT SO STICK OPEN (CAUSING FUEL TO GET INTO VAPOR SYSTEM. ONLY FIX AT THIS POINT WAS TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK. STALLING INDICATIONS HAPPEN AS SOON AS FOOT IS REMOVED FROM ACCELERATOR (WHETHER COASTING OR WHILE STOPPED. BATTERY LIGHT WILL COME ON AND DASH BOARD WILL ADVISE TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND THEN BACK IN GEAR. SOMETIMES, IT REQUIRES TURNING THE IGNITION AGAIN TO GET CAR MOVING AGAIN. IF COASTING ON INTERSTATE, THIS MAKES FOR A DANGEROUS SITUATION OF CAR NOT RESPONDING TO PICK UP SPEED DURING STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. DOCUMENTATION IS SERVICE TICKETS FOR BOTH VAPOR CANISTER REPLACEMENT AS WELL AS FUEL TANK REPLACEMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF HIS WIFE WHO OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND PERFORMED AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, WATER ENTERED THE VEHICLE FROM AN UNKNOWN AREA. TOMBALL DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM 23777 TX-249, TOMBALL, TX 77375 (281) 547-6945) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND PROCEEDED TO SLOW DOWN. BOTH THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE DASH. TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TRIED TO DRIVE AGAIN BUT SAME THING HAPPENED. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE JEEP DEALER.
VEHICLE STARTED LOSING POWER WHILE STOPPED AT LIGHT IN TRAFFIC, LESS THAN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD WHILE COMING TO A STOP THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LUNGE FORWARD AS IF I WAS ACCELERATING THEN VEHICLE LOST POWER AND ENGINE STOPPED. VEHICLE MESSAGE STATED TO 'SHIFT TO PARK AND THAN SELECT DESIRED GEAR.' ONCE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED TO PARK AND THEN TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LOSE POWER AGAIN. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY WENT INTO 'LIMP MODE' NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I MADE THE 5 MILE JOURNEY BACK HOME WITH THE VEHICLE LOSING POWER WHILE SLOWING OR LUNGING WHILE STOPPING. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY AS THIS IS ALMOST GRANTEES THAT THERE WILL BE AN ACCIDENT. PRIOR TO THIS DAY NO SIGNS OF FAILING COMPONENTS.
WHILE DRIVING 60MPH ON A HIGHWAY VEHICLE DISPLAYED A SERVICE SHIFTER NOTIFICATION. ALL SHIFTER LIGHTS WERE LIT INSTEAD OF JUST DRIVE, WHICH I WAS CURRENTLY IN. WHEN I WAS AT A STOP I SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL AND BACK TO DRIVE AND ALL LIGHTS REMAINED ON, ALTHOUGH THE DASHBOARD SHOWED THE CAR RECOGNIZED THE GEAR IT WAS IN. WHEN I SHIFTED TO MANUAL AND WENT UP AND DOWN GEARS THE CAR DID NOT RECOGNIZE THAT CHANGE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND THE SERVICE SHIFTER NOTIFICATION WAS NO LONGER THERE AND SHIFTER LIGHTS WERE BACK TO NORMAL.
MY CAR STARTS AND WILL DRIVE THEN RANDOMLY TURN OFF WHILE I'M SLOWING DOWN OR WAITING TO TURN. IT SHUTS OFF THE ENGINE AND BATTERY LIGHT COME ON. I WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND IT STARTS RIGHT BACK UP. IT DOES IT AT LEAST ONCE A DAY BUT WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE AUTO SHOP THEY CAN'T IDENTIFY ANY CODES OR ANYTHING THAT'S WRONG.
WHEN I'M ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65-75 AND THERE'S DIPS IN THE ROAD MY STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT TIRES SHAKE OUT OF CONTROL AND I HAVE TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO MAKE IT STOP.
2014 JEEP CHEROKEE~50K MILES: BOUGHT BRAND NEW FROM DEALERSHIP AND EXCLUSIVELY DEALER MAINTAINED...A YEAR AGO 2 THINGS SPONTANEOUSLY STARTED HAPPENING TO MY JEEP. 1-AS I WOULD SLOW DOWN AND COME TO A STOP MY CAR WOULD SHUT OFF, STALL OUT. 2-AS I WAS DRIVING MY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT WOULD START FLASHING AND THE JEEP WOULD NOT RUN RIGHT. I WOULD PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF, RESET THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THEN I WOULD BE ABLE TO DRIVE UNTIL IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SOMETIMES IT WOULD HAPPEN AFTER 5 MILES OF DRIVING, OTHER TIMES I WOULD GO OVER 100 MILES WITHOUT INCIDENT. I HAD APPROXIMATELY 25% REMAINING ON MY OIL LIFE CYCLE-LAST OIL CHANGE LESS THAN 6MONTHS/5000 MILES. I TESTED THE BATTERY AND A FEW THINGS BEFORE I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. DEALER SAID MY OIL LEVEL WAS DANGEROUSLY LOW AND I NEED A FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING. THEY DID AN OIL CHANGE AND FUEL CLEANING, ASKED ME TO COME BACK AFTER DRIVING 1000 MILES FOR AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. THEY SAID THE RESULT OF THE TEST WAS WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS. A YEAR LATER, AGAIN AROUND 20% OIL LIFE REMAINING-LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AND LESS THAN 5000 MILES SINCE LAST OIL CHANGE I AM GETTING THE SAME SYMPTOMS-ALL THREE LIGHTS COMING ON, CAR STALLED ON SEPARATE OCCASION. WILL BE BRINGING BACK TO DEALER THIS WEEK, HOWEVER THIS CAR HAS RECEIVED ALL OIL CHANGES BY DEALER WITHIN THE PROPER TIME AND I TAKE GOOD CARE OF THE CAR- THIS SEEMS A BIT DANGEROUS AND SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. IT AFFECTS MY COMMUTE TO WORK, CHILD CARE, TIME, ETC.
THE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SET ITSELF AND WOULD NOT DISENGAGE, REQUIRING TOW. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD MEI NEED TO PAY FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO FIX THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER I DISCOVERED ON MY OWN A SERVICE BULLETIN DESCRIBING THE EXACT PROBLEM #08-060-16 THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, BUT COULD NOT BE OPERATED. MY OPINION, EITHER THE DEALERSHIP IS INCOMPETENT, OR PURPOSEFULLY DECEITFUL. PAY FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE. I ASKED, HE COULDN'T ANSWER... HOW DID I BREAK THE SOFTWARE??? IT IS NOT SOFTWARE, THE BULLETIN SAYS IT ALL.
I HAVE A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE WITH 54,105 MILES. FIVE TIMES OVER THE LAST MONTH WHILE DRIVING, ALL THE GEAR SHIFT LIFTS TURN RED AND A MESSAGE COMES UP THAT SAYS SERVICE SHIFTER. WHEN I PARK THE CAR, SHUT IT OFF AND RESTART, THE MESSAGE IS GONE AND THE LIGHTS ARE NO LONGER RED. I HAVE RED MANY, MANY MESSAGES OF PEOPLE WITH IDENTICAL ISSUES. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM.

READING FORUMS AND DEALERSHIP DOES NOT SEEM TO KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. OF COURSE THEY WANT TO SEE IS WHEN ISSUE IS OCCURRING, NOT AN EASY TASK. EVEN WHEN ISSUE IS OCCURRING I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. CONCERNED AS TO WHAT AND WHY THIS PROBLEM IS OCCURRING. COULD IT BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE OIL PUMP SENSOR, OIL PUMP, AND BRAKES WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COURTESY AUTOMOTIVE GROUP (9208 E ADAMO DR, TAMPA, FL 33619, (813) 235-4700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BECAME STUCK IN SAFE MODE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME FAILURE CODE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,200.
THE SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. I HAVE HAD THE SHIFTER BEZEL AND JUMPER HARNESS REPLACED AND 5 MONTHS LATER IT IS ON AGAIN. ALSO, THE CAR RANDOMLY DIES WHILE DRIVING, SEEMS TO BE A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THESE ARE OF GREAT CONCERN AND UNSAFE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
ABOUT A MONTH AGO I NOTICED THAT WHEN I STARTED MY VEHICLE ALL THE LIGHTS LIT UP RED ON MY GEAR DISPLAY ON THE COUNSEL. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL THAT NEEDED PERFORMED THAT HAD TO DEAL WITH THE COMPUTER UPDATE FOR THE SHIFTER. THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON SEPT. 20. SINCE THIS TIME MY DASHBOARD MENU HAS LOCKED ITSELF ON ' SERVICE SHIFTER' IN ADDITION TO ALL GEARS LIGHTING UP RED, 3 TIMES. ONCE WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 75 MILES AN HOUR. FORCING ME TO PULL OVER TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND RESTART THE VEHICLE TO FREE MY DASH SO I CAN EVEN SEE MY SPEEDOMETER. THE OTHER TWO TIMES OCCURRED WHEN STARTING MY VEHICLE AND PUTTING IT IN REVERSE.
A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY NEW JEEP CHEROKEE 2014, IT LOCKED UP. A HUGE BOOM SOUND WAS MADE EACH TIME I WENT TO SHIFT GEARS. THE DEALER SENT A TOW TRUCK TO TRANSPORT TO THE DEALER. THEY THEN RENTED ME A CAR. AFTER KEEPING MY VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS THE PART CAME IN AND A REPAIR WAS MADE WHICH "FIXED" THE VEHICLE FOR A WHILE. THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER IT LOCKED UP AGAIN, ANOTHER REPAIR AND IT TOOK WEEKS AND A RENTAL CAR. THEN AFTER A THIRD VISIT A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS INSTALLED. THE CAR HAS BEEN ALRIGHT UNTIL THIS WEEK, SUNDAY, SEPT. 29, 2019, WHEN THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. I HAVE 80,000 MILES ON IT AND ONLY 60 ON THIS TRANSMISSION.I WAS NOT GIVEN A RENTAL CAR THIS TIME. THEY ONCE AGAIN DID THE VALVE BODY REPLACEMENT, ETC. SO NOW I AM WONDERING HOW LONG BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY GOES OUT? I WAS CHARGED $444.00 FOR THIS REPAIR AND FEEL IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY? PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY IT WASN'T. I'VE ENJOYED MY VEHICLE WHEN IT HAS BEEN IN GOOD WORKING ORDER, HOWEVER I FEEL YOUR COMPANY SHOULD MAKE GOOD ON THEIR WARRANTY AND PRODUCT. YOU SHOULD HAVE COPIES OF ALL OF MY WORK PERFORMED AS IT WAS ALL DONE AT YOUR JEEP DEALERSHIP.I HAVE PAPER COPIES OF MY RECORDS, HOWEVER SOME TIMES WHEN I TOOK IT IN AFTER PURCHASE. THE VEHICLE HAS A CONSISTENT ISSUE OF SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING AFTER REFUELING. ISSUE USUALLY OCCURS WITHIN A MILE OF THE GAS STATION. THE CAR WILL BEGIN STUTTERING AND LUNGING AND WILL SHUT OFF STOPPED OR EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE PANEL SHOWS A TRANSMISSION LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT AND WILL NOT FUNCTION AGAIN UNTIL AFTER PUTTING IT IN PARK, TURNING OFF THE ACCESSORIES AND RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE RUNS FINE AFTER RESTARTING, AND WILL NOT HAVE THE ISSUE AGAIN UNTIL REFUELING. THE VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF ON THE HIGHWAY IS A VERY DANGEROUS AND NERVE-RACKING EXPERIENCE.*DT
ENGINE SEEMS TO BUDGE THE CAR ALONG WITH A POPPING NOISE WHEN THE GEAR SHIFTS. ICONS APPEAR ON MY DASH, GEAR BLINKS ON DASHBOARD AND GEAR SHIFTER, STIFF STEERING WHEEL, HARD TIME STARTING UP AND AFTER THE CAR IS TURNED ON THE ENGINE SOMETIMES CUTS OFF.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED IN THE SUMMER OF 2018. AT THE TIME I NOTICED THAT IT SEEMED TO SHIFT RATHER HARD BUT DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT. OVER THE LAST YEAR THE SHIFTING HAS GOTTEN WORSE. IT EITHER SHIFTS LATE WHILE THE ENGINE IS WINDING UP CAUSING A RATHER LARGE JUMP DEPENDING ON THE SPEED. OR IT DOESN'T SHIFT OUT OF GEAR AT ALL CAUSING ME TO SLOW DOWN ON HIGHWAYS AND THEN ACCELERATE AGAIN. IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS IT HAS ALSO STARTED STALLING AT RANDOM TIMES. SOMETIMES IT WILL STALL WHEN SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. THIS MORNING IT STALLED WHILE I WAS MAINTAINING A SPEED AROUND 30MPH ON A SIDE STREET. I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO START THE ENGINE AGAIN. EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WAS IN PARK IT WOULDN'T START BECAUSE THE COMPUTER STILL THOUGHT IT WAS IN DRIVE. ISSUES ARE BECOMING MORE FREQUENT IN LESS THAN SAFE SITUATIONS. THESE ALL SEEM TO DATE BACK TO THE RELEASE OF THE VEHICLE. EITHER THE SOFTWARE WASN'T UPDATED BEFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE OR THE SOFTWARE UPDATE ISN'T A PERMANENT FIX. EITHER WAY IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS CAUSES AN ACCIDENT.
VEHICLE STALLS WHEN PROCEEDING FORWARD FROM A COMPLETE STOP. VEHICLE WILL MOVE FORWARD A FEW FEET, DISENGAGES FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, AND WILL FINALLY REENGAGE. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS RANDOMLY WITH THE 2014 TRANSMISSION AND HAS PUT ME IN DANGER SEVERAL TIMES. THIS TRANSMISSION ALSO SHIFTS RANDOMLY AND IN A HARD FASHION. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN REAR-ENDED. I'VE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY ACT LIKE THEY HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THE 2014-2015 TRANSMISSIONS.

LEFT SKID MARKS LEFT IN PARKING LOT AT EMBRY RIDDLE UNIVERSITY. - REAR WHEELS LOCKED AND WOULD NOT BUDGE ONE INCH. BAD TSB MENTIONS WATER INFILTRATION AROUND EPB MODULE NEAR REAR TIRE IN REAR HATCH AREA. COMPLAINT ALSO FILED WITH JEEP. CASE 64649523. NOT SAFE AND EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR IF NO RECALL. SERIOUS ISSUE.
WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 45MPH, MY DASH GAVE ME A MESSAGE "SERVICE SHIFTER". THIS HAD NEVER OCCURRED IN OVER 81K MILES. 100 MILES AFTER RECALL V69 WAS FIXED, I GOT MESSAGE TWICE. IT DOES NOT LEAVE AN ERROR CODE IN THE COMPUTER. IF YOU TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTART IT GOES AWAY.
AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THE FIRST RECALL RECALL S55/NHTSA 16V 529 REGARDING VEHICLE CHANGING GEARS TO NEUTRAL CAUSING LOSS OF POWER IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALERSHIP ON OR ABOUT 9/25/19 TO ADDRESS THE CURRENT RECALLS HOWEVER IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE LIGHTS FOR EVERY GEAR ALL COME ON WHICH IS ONE OF THE SIGNS THAT THIS IS GOING TO OCCUR AGAIN AND IN ADDITION THERE IS NOW A "SERVICE SHIFTER" WARNING BEING DISPLAYED EVERY OTHER DAY OR SO. THIS PROBLEM HAS CLEARLY NOT BEEN CORRECTLY ADDRESSED IN THE PREVIOUS RECALLS.

CANT RELEASE BRAKE. CANT MOVE CAR. BRAKE IS ELECTRIC AND RELEASES UPON GEAR SHIFT MOVEMENT TSB REPORTED THAT CONNECTOR AND MODULE GETS CORRODED FROM WATER THAT ENTERS FROM A BAD SEAL. THE SHORTED OUT MODULE / CONNECTOR COULD HAVE CAUSE BRAKE LOCKUP AT HIGH MPH
VEHICLE FREQUENTLY SEEMS TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL, IT WILL THEN ENGAGE AND LURCH FORWARD. RECENT RECALL WORK DID NOT MAKE ANY IMPROVEMENTS TO THE ISSUE.
FILLED TANK WITH FUEL. DROVE ABOUT 1/4 MILE AND STOPPED AT LIGHT TO TURN ONTO HIGHWAY, CAR STALLED AND DASH READS "SHIFT TO P THEN DESIRED GEAR", PICTURE ATTACHED, THEN DROVE ABOUT 6 MILES. HAD TO STOP AND AT LIGHT CAR STALLED AND DASH READ SAME AS ABOVE..THIS HAPPENED WHEN I STOPPED AT WORK AND WHEN I WAS DRIVING TO DEALER HAPPENED BOTH TIMES I NEEDED TO STOP AND SAME WHEN I PULLED UNDER THE SERVICE AREA AT THE DEALER..DEALER SAID THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH FUEL SYSTEM..THE PROBLEM IS THE VAPOR/LIQUID SEPARATOR VALVE LOCATED AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK. THE VALVE IS DESIGNED TO PREVENT LIQUID FUEL FROM ENTERING THE CHARCOAL CANISTER/EMISSIONS SYSTEM. WHEN THE VALVE FAILS, LIQUID GAS CAN ENTER THE LINE AND FILL THE CHARCOAL CANISTER. AFTER REFUELING THE PCM ON THE VEHICLE DETECTS A CHANGE IN FUEL LEVEL. THEN, WHEN THE ENGINE MEETS CERTAIN TEMPERATURE AND DRIVING CRITERIA, THE PCM ISSUES A PURGE COMMAND TO THE CHARCOAL CANISTER TO REMOVE THE STORED GAS VAPORS. IT'S AT THAT POINT THAT ALL THE LIQUID GAS IN THE LINE GETS SUCKED INTO THE CHARCOAL CANISTER. THE PCM EXPECTS TO SEE GAS VAPORS ENTERING THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND IT IS PREPARED TO ADJUST AIR/FUEL MIXTURES TO COMPENSATE. HOWEVER, IT IS NOT PREPARED TO SEE LIQUID GAS COMING INTO THE INTAKE. THAT'S WHAT CAUSES THE ENGINE TO STALL. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM, SHOULD BE A RECALL IN MY OPINION. I CAN EITHER PAY $1,700 FOR A NEW SYSTEM... AND IS THE NEW FUEL PUMP REDESIGNED? OR JUST NOT FILL UP THE TANK COMPLETELY. WHICH I HAVE READ WILL HELP THE ISSUE.*DT*JB

THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS SO I REPLACED THE BULBS WITH SYLVANIA SILVERSTAR HALOGEN ZXE. THE BULBS ARE BRIGHTER BUT DID NOT CORRECT THE DISTANCE VISIBILITY. TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AFTER DARK ESPECIALLY WITH ON COMING TRAFFIC.
