POWER LIFTGATE WILL NOT OPERATE WITH FRONT OR BACK BUTTONS. THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN IS MANUALLY AND CLOSE IT MANUALLY.
JEEP CHEROKEE RECALL. I LIVE IN COLOMBIA AND I HAVE A JEEP CHEROKEE 2014. THIS TRUCK HAS LEFT DEFECTIVE IN BRAKES, TRANSMISSION ALWAYS. I HAVE NOT BEEN INFORMED BY "DEMCAUTOS" ABOUT THE RECALL. DEMCAUTOS. DEMCAUTOS IS THE CONCESSIONAIRE WHERE BUY MY VEHICLE.
THE JEEP WOULD HESITATE WHEN SHIFTING INTO GEAR AND THEN "JUMP" INTO GEARS. I WAS INITIALLY TOLD THE CAR IS NEW 20,500 MILES AND NEEDS TO BE "BROKEN IN". HOWEVER, WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR OR SECOND TO THIRD GEAR THE CAR SHIFTS REALLY HARD, ENOUGH THAT MY HEAD HITS THE BACK OF THE SEAT FROM WHIPLASH. ON MY DAILY DRIVE HOME IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC, WHEN STOPPED AND THEN LETTING OFF THE BRAKE AND THEN EASING BACK ON THE BRAKE, THE CAR WILL JERK FORWARD. THE DEALERSHIP THOUGHT THAT A SOFTWARE UPDATE WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM, IT DID NOT. I'VE TAKEN IT IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE 3 TIMES.
VEHICLE WAS MOVING. SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIT ON INSTRUMENT PANEL. VEHICLE TRANSMISSION WAS IN "D". VERY LITTLE POWER TO TRANSMISSION. MANAGED TO PULL OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD. TURNED OFF ENGINE. WAITED ABOUT TEN MINUTES. RESTARTED. WARNING REMAINED. DROVE TO SAFER AREA. STOPPED ENGINE. RESTARTED. SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT NOT DISPLAYED. VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY.
WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR LOW SPEED ON STREETS VEHICLE JERKS AND DISPLAYS MESSAGE "SHIFT TO PARIS THEN DESIRED GEAR." NEXT MESSAGE TO BE DISPLAYED IS "SERVICE TRANSMISSION." DRIVER HAS TO PULL OVER TO SHIFT TO PARK. VEHICLE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR FOR SEVERAL MINUTES WHILE CHECK ENGINE, AND SEVERAL OTHER ICONS FLASH ON INSTRUMENT PANEL. VEHICLE WILL THEN STALL. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES AFTER POWER DOWN VEHICLE, GEAR WILL ENGINE AND VEHICLE WILL RUN ROUGH. GEARS WILL NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY. VEHICLE HAS 54,000 MILES AND HAS HAD GEAR BOX SOFTWARE FLASHED ALREADY ONCE IN THE LAST 90 DAYS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. UPON REFUELING THE VEHICLE, FUEL SPEWED OUT OF THE FUEL TANK. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAITED OVER A MONTH AND WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE MANUFACTURER WOULD SUPPLY THE PART TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER DID NOT STATE WHETHER OR NOT THE PART WAS ON A BACKORDER. WHEN DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN AND MESSAGE ON DASH SAYS "CAR MUST BE IN PARK IN ORDER TO SHIFT." VEHICLE WILL NOT RESTART. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. WE HAVE HAD IT TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP WITH NO RESOLVE. AFTER RESEARCHING, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS YEAR'S MODEL THAT JEEP IS AWARE OF. HOWEVER, THE COMMON RESOLUTION IS DEALERSHIP STILL CLAIMING AN OIL CHANGE IS NEEDED. MOST RECENTLY OUR JEEP WAS 500 MILES UNDER THE DEALERSHIP'S RECOMMENDED OIL CHANGE. DEALER UNABLE TO DETERMINE SOURCE OF PROBLEM, SAYING THEY WOULD CONTACT ENGINEERING. WE THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE CONNECTED TO THE RECENT RECALL FOR THE 2014 -15 CHEROKEE (AND OTHERS EQUIPPED WITH THE 9-SPEED TRANSAXLE). HOWEVER, LAST VISIT TO DEALERSHIP TO CORRECT THAT PROBLEM WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. WHEN ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE CONNECTED TO ANY PERFORMANCE OR DRIVABILITY ISSUE. IT JUST TENDS TO MAKE ME IGNORE THE WARNING LIGHT AND DISMISS IT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED AND THE "FOUR WHEEL DRIVE UNAVAILABLE" MESSAGE APPEARED. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO REEDMAN TOLL CHRYSLER (300 BALTIMORE PIKE, SPRINGFIELD, PA) AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. LATER, WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS FAULTY. THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURES CONTINUED. LATER, THE WATER PUMP WAS REPLACED AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SWITCH INTO THE PARK POSITION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL FOR NO REASON AT ALL. I HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER UNPLUGGING THE BATTERY AND PLUGGING IT BACK IN I HAD LOWER GEARS TO MAKE IT TO H-E-B THE SHIP. THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT AND RESET THE CODES AND SENT ME ON MY WAY AFTER TWO DAYS. HE SHIPS HARDER AND GETS MUCH LESS GAS MILEAGE
WHEN TOWED BEHIND MY 2012 FLEETWOOD CLASS A MOTORHOME WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP ON THE ROAD THE JEEP STARTS TO WOBBLE BACK AND FORTH UNCONTROLLABLY . THE ONILY WAY TO STOP THE WOBBLE IS TO STOP THE MOTORHOME AND JEEP IN THE ROAD AND THEN CONTINUE ON AFTER YOU CHECK EVERYTHING OUT. THIS HAPPENED 6-8 TIME FROM MAINE TO NY.1
TRANSMISSION HAS UNDERGONE SEVERAL RECALLS. WITH THE CURRENTLY 56,000 MILES, THE VEHICLE IS STUCK IN PARK AND WILL NOT SHIFT INTO DRIVE. PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS TO JEEP HAS BEEN MADE OF HARD SHIFTING, DELAY FROM STOP THEN ACCELERATING AT LIGHT, SLOW LAUNCH AND HARD JERKING FROM GEAR-TO-GEAR AT TIMES. ALL RECALLS HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED AND UP TO DATE; HOWEVER, TRANSMISSION ISN'T WORKING PROPERLY. LITERALLY SCARED OF THIS VEHICLE NOW. SERVICE HAS BEEN CONDUCTED ACCORDINGLY. PRIOR SERVICE CONDUCTED AT JEEP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND SERVICE TECHS HAVE STATED THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISISON.
FOR THE 3RD TIME - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, CHECK GAS CAP LIGHT COME ON, ODOMETER STARTS FLASHING AND VEHICLE LOSES ALL ACCELERATION AFTER THOSE LIGHTS COME UP. YOU CAN FLOOR THE GAS PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE WILL BARELY GET TO 40 MPH. LAST TIME IT WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY PERFORMED FLASHES (3 WEEKS AGO) AND THE ISSUE WENT AWAY. HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY WHILE PULLING OUT OF A BUSY SHOPPING CENTER AND THE CAR LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE AND HAD TO LIMP IT HOME TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISES THEY ARE UNAWARE OF ANY ISSUES LIKE THIS HOWEVER THERE ARE MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THIS MAKE\MODEL\YEAR HAVING THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DOING 80 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE CAR IMMEDIATELY DROPPED TO 40 MPH NEARLY CAUSING A COLLISION.

I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING SINCE ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE REGARDING THE ROUGH SHIFTING IN LOW GEARS. THE DEALER RE-SET THE ADAPTIVE TRANSMISSION, THINKING THAT CHANGES IN TRAFFIC PATTERNS LEAD TO A DIFFICULTY AN "ADJUSTING" TO A DIFFERENT DRIVING STYLE. THIS TEMPORARILY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER I CONTINUE TO HAVE ROUGH SHIFTING, DELAYED ACCELERATION, AND SOMETIMES A HARSH JOLT WHEN DECELERATING TO A STOP. THE CAR'S TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE HAS BEEN UPDATED MULTIPLE TIMES, INCLUDING THE MOST RECENT S-55 RECALL. MY CAR WAS DIAGNOSED AS NEEDING SOFTWARE ONLY, NOT A NEW WIRING HARNESS. HOWEVER, TWO DAYS AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE, WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS. I WAS NEARLY REAR-ENDED BY THE SCHOOL BUS BEHIND ME ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY OVERPASS WHEN MY CAR DID NOT MOVE AT THE CHANGE TO A GREEN TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE RPMS REVVED AS IF THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL, (BUT IT WAS IN D), AND AFTER A 5-10 SECOND DELAY, THE CAR BUCKED INTO THIRD GEAR GOING 20 MILES PER HOUR. AT TIMES WHEN COMING TO A STOP, THE DECELERATION FROM 3RD TO 1ST GEAR FEELS AS THOUGH I AM BEING REAR-ENDED. THE CAR SOMETIMES REVS WHEN AT A STOP WITH MY FOOT ON THE BREAK. ONCE I RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT "THE CAR IS TRAVELING AT TOO HIGH OF A SPEED TO GO INTO REVERSE", HOWEVER I WAS GOING FROM PARK TO REVERSE AND THE CAR WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP. THERE IS SOMETIMES A DELAY IN ACCELERATION WHEN TRYING TO MERGE ONTO THE HIGHWAY. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THESE INTERMITTENT ISSUES. *TR

I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE THREE YEARS AGO. THE TRANSMISSION STARTS JERKING, SHIFTING ROUGHLY, BODY SHAKING AT ABOUT 20,000 MILES, AND EVENTUALLY DIED WHEN DRIVING ON THE ROAD IN NOVEMBER 2016. MY WIFE AND KIDS WERE STUCK ON THE ROAD IN FEAR. SENT TO THE DEALER SHOP THE NEXT DAY, WAS TOLD THERE IS NO AVAILABLE SLOT AND I HAVE TO DRIVE IT BACK TO HOME. THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED AGAIN ON THE ROAD. THE NEXT WEEK, I SENT THE CAR IN AND DEALER PERFORMED THE RECALL. HOWEVER, THERE IS NO SOLVING, STILL JERKING. SENT THE CAR REPAIR FOR ANOTHER THREE TIMES FROM DECEMBER 2016, AND THEN ONCE AGAIN IN FEBRUARY 2017. THEY TOLD ME SOMEONE RE-PROGRAMED THE TRANSMISSION, AND IT DID BECOME A LITTLE BIT BETTER AT THE BEGINNING, BUT EVENTUALLY JERKING AND SHAKING AGAIN. LAST SATURDAY, APRIL 22, 2017, THE TRANSMISSION DIED AGAIN WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY SON OUT, LEAVING US IN FRONT OF AN INTERSECTION AND THE CAR BEHIND ALMOST HIT US. MY SON WAS SO SCARED AND BEGGING ME TO GET RID OF THIS CAR. I DECIDE TO ASK A LEMON LAW ATTORNEY FOR HELP.
THE VEHICLE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT GEAR IT'S IN, HARD AND LOUD JERKY SHIFTING, THE VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY QUITS WHEN IT IS IDLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS OFF AN EXIT RAMP, THE CONTACT CLIPPED THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE ON A CURB. AS A RESULT, THE DRIVER SIDE RIM FRACTURED, WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE IMMOBILE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE TIRE FRACTURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. I WAS DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY RT. 18 S AT 8:30PM ON THURSDAY NOVEMBER 10TH WHEN MY PANORAMIC SUNROOF EXPLODED. IT RAINED GLASS THROUGHOUT THE INTERIOR OF MY VEHICLE HITTING MYSELF AND MY 6 YEAR OLD IN THE BACK SEAT. I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WHEN I HEARD THE EXPLOSION AND PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY TO A SHOULDER. MY FIANCE WAS FOLLOWING ME AND GLASS SPRAYED HIS CAR AS WELL. THE POLICE WERE CALLED AS WELL AS A TOW TRUCK. THE POLICE FILED A REPORT AND CHECKED THE CAR FOR ANY OBSTRUCTIONS.
I HAD JUST PICKED UP MY JEEP 2014 CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK FROM THE DEALERSHIP FOLLOWING THE S-55 RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATE. (MY VEHICLE WAS DEEMED NOT TO NEED THE NEW TRANSAXLE WIRING HARNESS PARTS, ONLY THE SOFTWARE UPDATE.) UPON LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP, THE BATTERY LIGHT AND ALARM CHIME CAME ON WHILE MAKING A U-TURN AND THE STEERING BECAME VERY HARD AT LOW SPEED. AT THE NEXT TRAFFIC LIGHT, I EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF STEERING AS SLOWING TO A STOP. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE THE LEFT TURN AS THE STEERING RE-ENGAGED UPON ACCELERATION. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND HAD EXTREME DIFFICULTY TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE, AS STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN AS THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND SPEED DECELERATED TO A STOP. I WAS ABLE TO LIMP VEHICLE BACK THE SHORT DISTANCE TO THE DEALERSHIP BY KEEPING OFF THE MAIN HIGHWAY AND USING PARKING LOTS AND BACK STREETS. THIS OCCURRENCE OF EVENTS WAS THE SAME AS MY HUSBAND EXPERIENCED PRIOR TO THE S-55 TRANSAXLE WIRING HARNESS RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATE, EXCEPT HE EVENTUALLY ALSO LOST ALL EMOTIVE POWER (COMPLAINT # 10915926). THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT REPLICATE THIS ISSUE, POSSIBLY BECAUSE I INADVERTENTLY TURNED VEHICLE OFF IN SERVICE LANE, WHICH MAY HAVE RESET THE SYSTEM TEMPORARILY.
WHEN SLOWING FOR A STOP SIGN THE CAR STALLED ONCE 5 DAYS AGO BUT RESTARTED AFTER SHUTTING DOWN AND IT WAS FINE. THEN YESTERDAY MORNING IT STALLED 3X BEFORE LEAVING MY DEVELOPMENT. I DROVE TO HAVE THE BATTERY CHECKED LOCALLY AND IT WAS OK. I DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS BECAUSE THE OIL WAS LOW, THAT THESE CARS BURN A QUART OF SYNTHETIC OIL EVERY 2000 MILES AND "WHEN THE OIL RUNS LOW THEY SHUT OFF TO PROTECT THE CAR." WHAT?? AND HOW DANGEROUS. I QUESTIONED A RECALL RECENTLY RECEIVED ABOUT JEEPS STALLING WHILE DRIVING AND WAS TOLD IT WASN'T RELATED. I'M REALLY JUST IN AWE AND DISBELIEF THAT THIS COULD BE A FEATURE THAT THE MANUFACTURER PLANNED FOR!

DROVE FOR ONE EVENING AND LEFT TOWN FOR A WEEK. FIRST TIME CAR WAS DRIVEN AFTER THAT WEEK VEHICLE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AGAIN. UPON BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY IT LURCHED FORWARD AND RAN INTO THE CURB. DROVE VEHICLE HOME AND TOOK TO THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY. KEP OVERNIGHT BEFORE THEY SAID IT NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THEY KEPT VEHICLE FOR A WEEK AND WE PICKED IT UP ON A WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. THE TRANSMISSION HAS AN ISSUE WITH JERKING BETWEEN SHIFTS, BOTH UP AND DOWN. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO BE FIXED AT LEAST 5 TIMES AND ALSO A RECALL. IT STILL HAS THE PROBLEM AND APPARENTLY CANNOT BE FIXED.
THREE TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR (10/26/15, 1/1/2016, 10/17/2016), MY CHEROKEE HAS LOST ALL SPEED WHILE ON THE FREEWAY GOING 60MPH. THE DASH LIGHTS START FLASHING INCLUDING CHECK ENGINE, PARK IMMEDIATELY TRACTION CONTROL, AND SERVICE TRANSMISSION. THE GAS PEDAL NO LONGER WORKS AND THE CAR LOSES ALL SPEED IN 4-5 SECONDS. I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO CUT ACROSS ALL LANES OF TRAFFIC TO PARK ON THE SHOULDER. THE ENGINE NEVER TURNS OFF, BUT WHEN I TRY TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL, EVEN FLOORING IT, THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE. THE DEALER HAS "REWIRED" THE WIRING HARNESS AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE TWICE. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY UNSAFE ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE MAKING ME AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.

THEY ARE PUTTING PEOPLES LIVES IN DANGER WITH A SUB STANDARD TRANSMISSION. I WANT JEEP TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM AND NOT JUST THE PARTS THEY DEEM IN THEIR INTERNAL SELECTION. IF IT SUPPORTS A TRANSMISSION THEY SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND BUILD IT CORRECTLY. SAFETY SHOULD BE A CONCERN AND OBVIOUSLY IT ISN'T. MY JEEP IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD, I'VE COMPLAINED MULTIPLE TIMES ABOUT HARD SHIFTING TO THE DEALER AND ALL THEY DID WAS ADJUST THE SHIFT POINTS. ON OCTOBER 10, 2016, I WAS DRIVING ON AN ACCESS ROAD NEXT TO A HIGHWAY WHEN MY CAR LOST MOTIVE POWER. I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40MPH AND I DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO PULL OVER FROM THE LANE I WAS IN. MY DASHBOARD KEPT FLASHING "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" AND ALSO TO "PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RE-START." FOR TEN MINUTES, I ATTEMPTED TO RE-START THE VEHICLE AND BEGIN DRIVING AGAIN. EACH TIME I WOULD TRY TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE, THERE WAS A VERY LOUD RACKET SOUND FROM SHIFTING AND I HAD TO PUT THE CAR BACK IN PARK. FINALLY, ON THE SIXTH ATTEMPT, I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE WITHOUT THE SOUND AND I IMMEDIATELY DROVE MY CAR HOME. I AM DISHEARTENED AS THIS WAS A PURCHASE OF A USED VEHICLE ONLY A FEW DAYS PRIOR, ON OCTOBER 8, 2016, THAT HAD ONLY 30,000 MILES.
