WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE WAS A SHUTDOWN OF THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER/ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, A LOSS OF ANY STEERING CONTROL, AN IMMEDIATE VEHICLE DECELERATION WITH NO ABILITY TO CORRECT BY ACCELERATING, AND A LOSS OF BRAKING CONTROL.
TAKATA RECALL CAR BUCKING WHEN SHIFTING INTO GEAR. ALSO THERE WAS A KNOCKING NOISE WHEN DRIVING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL OR GOING OVER BUMPS. IT GOT SO BAD THAT IT SOUNDED LIKE MY TIRE WAS GOING TO FALL OFF OR THE UNDERNEATH OF MY CAR. ALSO MY CAR WAS SHAKING WHEN IT WOULD HIT A BUMP. THERE WAS ALSO A WHINING NOISE THAT WOULD OCCUR WHEN I TURNED MY WHEEL EITHER WAY. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS NOW, EVERYTIME I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER THEY STATED THAT MY "CAR WAS FINE" WAS NOT UNTIL I BROUGHT IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC THAT THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL BALL JOINT. THIS WOULD OCCUR WHILE THE CAR WAS ON THE HIGHWAY OR SIDE ROADS, AS LONG AS THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. ALSO MY CAR WOULD HAVE PROBLEMS WHEN SHIFTING. THE CAR BUCKED ON MY ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I WAS GOING 65 THE CAR LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND I GOT WARNING LIGHTS STATING TO PUT CAR INTO DESIRED GEAR, CHECK OIL AND TRANSMISSION. I PULLED INTO THE BREAK DOWN LANE AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. TURNED THE CAR ON AND OFF & THE SAME THING HAPPENED. *TR
TRANSAXLE WIRE HARNESS S55. WOULD NOT START .TOOK 5 ATTEMPTS TO START.IN THE MIDDLE OF INDIANA WITH NO DEALER WITHIN 50 MILES ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
DRIVING AT FULL SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY DISENGAGED, WHICH LED TO REDLINING THE RPMS, BECAUSE IT FAILED TO GIVE ME ANY CONTROL OF THROTTLE/ACCELERATION. I HAD TO GET OVER AND COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" NOTE CAME ON THE SCREEN AS WELL AS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE TRANSMISSION SLAMMED A FEW TIMES AS IF IT WERE UNABLE TO FIND ITS GEAR. I HAVE IT AT A DEALERSHIP NOW, APPARENTLY BEING TOLD FLASHING IT MAY FIX THE ISSUE...HOWEVER, THAT DOESN'T MAKE ME FEEL BETTER WITH HOW THE VEHICLE ACTED OR IF ANY DAMAGE OCCURRED DUE TO THIS "COMPUTER" ISSUE. THIS IS OUR FAMILY VEHICLE, SO HAVING SOME MAJOR DOUBTS RIGHT NOW.
CAR RANDOMLY STOPS MOVING WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES WHILE TURNING A CORNER. SEEMS LIKE IT TURNS ITSELF OFF, BUT LIGHTS ON DASH ARE STILL ON. I'M NOT REALLY SURE WHAT CAUSES IT AND AM HOPING THAT IT WILL BE RESOLVED ONCE THEY HAVE A SOLUTION TO THE CURRENT RECALL FOR THE TRANSAXLE WIRE HARNESS. HAVE BROUGHT IT TO DEALER A FEW TIMES AND THEY KEEP TELLING US IT HAS TO DO WITH THE 20% OIL LIFE. I DON'T SEE HOW THAT WOULD MAKE A CAR TURN OFF. AND WHY WOULD THEY MAKE A CAR THAT NEEDS TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED BEFORE THE OIL LIFE IS UP OR AT ALL.
SERVICE TRANSMISSION CAME ON WHILE IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE WHILE IN MOTION.11
2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO SEVERAL TIMES VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL AND SHUT COMPLETELY DOWN- NO BRAKE OR ACCELERATION RESPONSE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HIS DAUGHTER WAS TRAVELING AT 45 MPH, WHEN THE VEHICLE LOCKED IN NEUTRAL. *JB
VEHICAL HAS LOST POWER 4 TIMES WHILE DRIVING. ALMOST CAUSEING A COLLISION WITH THE VEHICAL BEHIND ME. VEHICAL WAS DIAGNOSED BY PRIVATE MECHANIC DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HAVE ANY AVAILABLE APPOINTMENTS AND PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME TO CORRECT THE RECALL. THIS VEHICAL IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND HAS BEEN REPORTED TO JEEP BUT THEY CANNOT HELP TILL IT IS DIAGNOSED WITH A CERTIFIED JEEP MECHANIC
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND A "MALFUNCTION" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER TRAIN FAILED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 26,500. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE ENGINE SHUT OFF 11 TIMES WHILE DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY AND IN THE STREETS. TWO OF THEM ALMOST CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING UP HILL AND DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY OVER A SPEED OF 65MPH. THE POWER SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING WHILE MOVING AND IT NEEDS TO BE RESTARTED ONCE TO SEVERAL TIMES TO START THE ENGINE. IT GOES FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL TO RENGINE SHUTOFF. IT KEPT HAPPENINGFOR TWO YEARS NOW AND BEFORE THE S55 TRANSAXLE WIRE HARNESS. FREMONT JEEP DEALERSHIP ARE INSISTING THAT IT IS STILL OKAH TO DRIVE EVEN AFTER NUMEROUS INCIDENTS AND EVEN IF THEY DONT HAVE THE PARTS YET FOR THE RECALL. STATED IN THE RECALL INFORMATION "THE LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER COULD CRASH WITHOUT WARNING". I AM VERY AFRAID TO USE THE CAR AND AFRAID FOR MY PASSENGER AS WELL AS FOR OTHER PEOPLE IF EVER THERE WILL BE A MAJOR ACCIDENT THAT THE JEEP/CHRYSLER IS WAITING TO HAPPEN BEFORE THEY MAKE A MOVE. THEY DONT RECOMMEND ANYTHING BUT TO WAIT FOR INDEFINITE TIME FRAME OF WHEN THE PARTS GONNA BE AVAILABLE. I THINK THEY WANT US 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE OWNERS RISK AND SACRIFICE OUR LIFE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, WHILE THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STATING THAT THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER WAS SHIFTED TO THE PARK POSITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,777.
MY JEEP STALLS WITHOUT WARNING WHILE IN MOTION. CHRYSLER WAS NOTIFIED AS WELL AS MY DEALER. THEY BOTH INDICATE THAT I NEED TO ADD OIL BETWEEN 750 TO 2000 MILES TO PREVENT A STALL. THE STALL IS A "SAFETY" FEATURE THAT PREVENTS THE MOTOR FROM SEIZING ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER. OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS WERE COMPLETED AT 500 MILES WITH NO NEGATIVE DATA. THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLS TO INCLUDE AN OIL PRESSURE WARNING. EVERY 750 MILES SEEMS EXCESSIVE AND I WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT IF THE VEHICLE IS OPERATING AT LOW OIL PRESSURE, THAT A WARNING LIGHT WOULD INDICATE THAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO STALL. CHRYSLER HAS CLOSED MY COMPLAINT WITH NO FURTHER ACTION AND INDICATED IT WAS THE OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO MONITOR EVERY 750 MILES. EACH STALL WAS WHILE IN MOTION AND ON A BUSY ROAD. THE DATE PROVIDED IS APPROXIMATE. STALLS HAVE HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND WE REPLENISH SYNTHETIC OIL WITH SIGNIFICANT REGULARITY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD RESEARCH THE CONCERN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *JS
THE PAST FOUR YEARS I HAVE EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE ISSUES AND SAFETY CONCERNS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL, LURCHES FORWARD AND EVEN STALLS OUT. MULTIPLE TIMES I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO RESTART THE CAR.THIS HAS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAYS, BACK ROADS RESIDENTIAL STREETS. IT IS VEY UNPREDICTABLE. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP. I HAVE HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE BROUGHT IT IN MULTIPLE TIMES. I ALWAYS GET THE SAME RESPONSE. "WE CAN NOT DUPLICATE YOUR CONCERNS.'NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE IS AN ACTUAL RECALL FOR THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE BEEN REPORTING FOR YEARS. I HAVE HAD TWO CASES WITH CHRYSLER JEEP, HOWEVER THEY DO NOT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THAT FOUR YEARS OF DEALING WITH AN UNSAFE CAR IS A COMPLETE JOKE. THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP AGAIN. I DO NOT HAVE ANY CONFIDENCE THAT THIS ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED.
AFTER PURCHASING THE NEW 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE, I NOTICED THAT IT HAD A ROUGH TIME SHIFTING. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT VIOLENTLY FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR AND ANYTIME YOU WOULD STOP ON AN INCLINE. WE HAVE HAD ALL THE NECESSARY RECALLS DONE TO THE VEHICLE BUT IT HAS CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN COMMUNICATING THIS ISSUE TO THE DEALERSHIP ALL I GET IS THAT WE ARE NOT USED TO THE 9 GEAR TRANSMISSION AND WE NEED TO GET USED TO IT. I WILL BE TAKING IT IN FOR THE FOURTH TIME TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIX IT. ON A SECOND NOTE I HAVE ALSO HAD THE VEHICLE TAKEN IN TO THE SHOP TO SEE WHY THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO US ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND CONCERNS ME. THIS WOULD BE A DISASTER IF IT HAPPENS TO DIE WHEN I AM ON THE HIGHWAY. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS VEHICLE AND MORE SO WITH THE WAY I AM TREATED WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE PEOPLE GET INJURED.
CAR WILL SLIP INTO NEUTRAL WITH NO WARNING AND THE ENGINE GOES INTO IDLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED SIX TIMES INCLUDING WHILE EXITING THE FREEWAY ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE REAR ENDED. JEEP IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND HAS ISSUED RECALL S55. THEY HAVE NO FIX AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN ONE WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE MOPAR SUPPORT REPS AGREE THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BUT WILL NOT PROVIDE A LOANER OR RENTAL BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW LONG BEFORE A FIX WILL BE AVAILABLE. THIS CAR HAS BECOME VERY SCARY TO DRIVE AND I AM GETTING NO HELP FROM THE DEALER OR FROM JEEP.
I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE 'DEATH WOBBLE' SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST TWO YEARS WHILE TOWING MY 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE BEHIND MY CLASS A MOTORHOME. IN 2016 THE LAST OCCURRENCE, AND THE MOST WORRISOME FOR ME, OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY ON A MAJOR TRIP IN SEPTEMBER. APPROACHING A CONSTRUCTION ZONE, THERE WAS A CROSS-OVER FROM THE WEST BOUND LANES INTO THE EASTBOUND INSIDE LANE. THIS CROSS-OVER HAD A DIFFERENCE IN CROSS-SLOPE AND AN ABRUPT CHANGE OF GRADE. TRAFFIC WAS GOING AT ABOUT 40-45 MILES PER HOUR AT THE POINT OF THE CROSS-OVER. THE WOBBLE OCCURRED JUST AS I WAS CROSSING FROM THE WESTBOUND TO EASTBOUND LANE. IT WAS A VIOLENT WOBBLE, WITH A HUGE SIDE SWAY HAPPENING AT THE REAR OF THE MOTORHOME. I SLOWED DOWN AS MUCH AS I COULD. I PUT ON MY FLASHERS AND CONTINUED AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES PER HOUR UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO FIND A CROSS SLOPE IN THE MEDIAN WHERE I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND STOP. UNTIL I FOUND THIS AREA, I WAS FIGHTING THE WILDLY SWINGING REAR END OF MY MOTORHOME AND THE JEEP WOBBLING BACK AND FORTH BEHIND ME. AND ONCE I HAD STOPPED AND KNEW I COULD RESUME MY TRIP AND THAT THIS EPISODE OF THE WOBBLE WAS OVER, I COULD NOT GET BACK OUT ONTO THE ONE-LANE WESTBOUND TRAFFIC LANE BECAUSE OF THE BACKUP OF TRAFFIC THAT HAD BUILT UP BEHIND ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT 10. FROM THIS POINT UNTIL I RETURNED HOME, I WAS AFRAID EVERY TIME I HIT A BUMP OR ROUGH SECTION OF THE INTERSTATE THAT I WAS GOING TO TRIGGER ANOTHER WOBBLE, BUT FORTUNATELY I DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANOTHER EPISODE THAT TRIP. I'M AT A POINT NOW WHERE I'M AFRAID TO TOW MY JEEP. THE ONLY REASON I PURCHASED IT WAS BECAUSE THE JEEP LITERATURE I RESEARCHED BEFORE I BOUGHT IT STATED THAT IT COULD BE TOWED FOUR WHEELS DOWN (WITH THE ACTIVE DRIVE II TRANSFER CASE SET TO NEUTRAL PER THE OWNER'S MANUAL) WITH NO RESTRICTIONS ON SPEED OR DISTANCE WHEN TOWING. *TR
WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A TWO-LANE HIGHWAY, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL AND ALL FORWARD POWER WAS GONE. THE GEARSHIFT LEVER COULD BE MOVED, BUT WOULD NOT PUT THE CAR BACK INTO ANY GEAR. WE TURNED ON EMERGENCY FLASHERS, PUT THE GEARSHIFT IN PARK, SHUT OFF THE CAR. WE RE-STARTED THE CAR AFTER A SHORT PERIOD, AND IT THEN WENT BACK INTO GEAR. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND US WHEN THIS HAPPENED. HAD THERE BEEN, IT COULD EASILY HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. IF IT HAPPENED ON AN EXPRESSWAY, THIS COULD CAUSE A FATAL CRASH! WE RELAYED THIS TO A JEEP DEALER IN MESA, AZ. IT IS ASSUMED TO BE RELATED TO YOUR SAFETY RECALL 16V-529. THERE ARE OTHERS TALKING ABOUT THIS ON LINE. PLEASE, GET THE MANUFACTURER MOVING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED. *TR
WHILE TOWING OUR JEEP BEHIND A CLASS A 24 FOOT MOTORHOME TRAVELING ABOUT 50 MILES AN HOUR ON A BUMPY ROAD THE JEEP STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND TRYING TO PULL TO ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER. WE SLOWED DOWN BUT IT CONTINUED UNTIL WE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. CARS BEHIND US CLEARED OUT AWAY BECAUSE I'M SURE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BREAK LOOSE. WE OF COURSE WERE SCARED AND CONCERNED AS WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS HAPPENING. WE ARE IN A VERY REMOTE AREA WITH NO CELL PHONE SERVICE AND CONCERN ABOUT DANGER TO US AND OTHER TRAVELERS AS WE HAD NO PLACE TO PULL OFF. WE DID A THOROUGH WALK AROUND CONCERNED ABOUT FLAT TIRES OR A BROKEN TOW HITCH. I RECALL AN ARTICLE IN MOTORHOME MAGAZINE CONCERNING "DEATH WOBBLE "IN 2014 AND 15 JEEP CHEROKEE'S. WE DID A YOUTUBE SEARCH AND INTERNET AND FOUND OUT THERE IS A HISTORY OF THIS PROBLEM THAT JEEP IS TRYING TO CORRECT BUT IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE WORKING. IF WE HAD BEEN TOWING THE JEEP WITH A PICK UP TRUCK WE PROBABLY WOULD'VE BEEN FLIPPED OFF THE ROAD, LUCKILY WE ARE IN A BIG HEAVY MOTORHOME. MOTORHOME OWNERS MAY FIND OUT ABOUT THIS AS TIME GOES ON BUT THESE JEEPS WILL BE TRADED TO UNINFORMED OWNERS THAT MAY PULLTHE JEEP WITH A SMALLER VEHICLE. THE NAME DEATH WOBBLE ALL OVER YOUTUBE HAS ME CONCERNED AS HOW THE NAME CAME TO BE. I REALLY FEEL THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN WHILE BEING PULLED BY LIGHTWEIGHT RV OR SUVS OR ALREADY OBVIOUSLY HAS HAPPENED BUT NOT REPORTED. IT IS IN A VERY LIMITED SITUATION BUT NEVERTHELESS OWNERS AND POTENTIAL OWNERS SHOULD BE MADE AWARE AND A BETTER FIX SHOULD BE FORTHCOMING. 1.) VEHICLE SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL WITHOUT NOTICE WHILE ACTIVELY DRIVING AND SHIFTER COLUMN INDICATES "DRIVE". 2.) PARKING BREAK ENGAGES WITHOUT WARNING OR PHYSICAL ACTIVATION. DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO IDENTIFY ISSUE.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE DISPLAY ON THE DASH. THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AFTER BEING PUT IN REVERSE.THE CAR WAS STATIONARY IN THE GARAGE. THIS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED. THE CAR HAS BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALER TWICE . THE TRANSMISSION IS DOING THE SAME THING AS THE FIRST TIME . I AM AFRAID TO GO ON ANY TRIPS BECAUSE THE CAR IS NOT RELIABLE . TRANSMISSION REPLACED APRIL 2018. AFTER REPLACEMENT CAR CONTINUED TO JERK, SHIFT LOUDLY, SHIFT ITSELF WHEN TURNED ON. DEALER REFUSED TO SERVICE. NOW GOING INTO ARBITRATION WITH FCS.
I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 75 AND MY VEHICLE CAME TO A SUDDEN COMPLETE STOP LUCKILY IT WAS HEAVY TRAFFIC SO I WAS NOT GOING VERY FAST. THE DISPLAY SAID SERVICE TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT TO DRIVE AFTER A FEW MINUTES AND TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF IT WORKED BUT NOW CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON.
ONE MORNING I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN MY 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE, AND I LOST ALL POWER GOING 30 MPH. THE DASH LIGHTS WENT OFF, THE RADIO WENT OFF, AND THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. I COASTED TO THE SHOULDER WITH NO POWER. I CALLED THE FCA RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER AND THEY SUGGESTED I GET A DIAGNOSTIC DONE. IF THE PROBLEM IS DUE TO THE S55 TRANSAXLE WIRE HARNESS RECALL, THEN THEY SAID I WOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR A LOANER VEHICLE UNTIL THE RECALL PART WAS MADE FOR MY JEEP. I CALLED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THE DIAGNOSTIC DONE. 2 DAYS AFTER MY LOSS OF POWER, I GOT A MESSAGE ON MY DASH THAT SAID "SERVICE 4WD." I BROUGHT MY JEEP IN FOR THE SAFETY RECALL R40 RADIO SECURITY VULNERABILITY ON 9/16/16. THEY TRIED TO DO THE SOFTWARE UPDATE 5 TIMES OVER 4 AND HALF HOURS. THE RESULT OF THE FAILURE IS NOT HAVING ACCESS TO THE IN CAR PHONE/RESCUE SYSTEM, NO NAVIGATION, NO BLUE TOOTH, NO RADIO OR MUSIC ACCESS AND NO CONTROL OVER THE HEAT/AIR VENTS, SEAT WARMERS OR STEERING WHEEL WARMER. I WAS TOLD THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE RADIO. THEY TOLD ME IT TAKES ABOUT 3-5 DAYS. I FOLLOWED UP WITH THEM WEDNESDAY 9/21/16, THURSDAY 9/22/16 AND FRIDAY 9/23/16, AS THEY TOLD ME IT WAS ON THE WAY AND I SHOULD JUST TRY BACK THE NEXT DAY. ON FRIDAY 9/23/16 I WAS ADVISED THE PART WAS BACK ORDERED AND WOULD NOT BE THERE UNTIL THE 1ST WEEK IN OCTOBER. ON TUESDAY 10/4 I WAS ADVISED IT STILL HAD NOT SHIPPED AND THEY EXPECTED IT SOME TIME NEXT WEEK. THURSDAY 10/6 I WAS ADVISED IT'S NOT SCHEDULED TO SHIP UNTIL 10/18. THE CONTINUOUS LIES ABOUT WHEN THIS WILL BE FIXED ARE EXASPERATING. I FEEL UNSAFE IN MY CAR NOW AND I HAVE A 45 MILE COMMUTE TO AND FROM WORK. I ALSO PAY FOR SIRIUS RADIO AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO USE IT SINCE THIS HAPPENED.
THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED 2 TIMES SINCE I HAVE OWNED IT DUE TO LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER. 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK 9 SPD TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED MULTIPLE TIMES AND TRANSMISSION REPLACED ONCE BY DEALER AND CHRYSLER - ALSO PAID $5000 FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY. A DANGEROUS PROBLEM STILL EXISTS WITH NO RESOLUTION AT 45,000 MILES. NOTHING THE DEALER CAN DO TO KEEP TRANSMISSION FROM VIOLENT ACTIONS SHIFTING OR DELAYED FREEWHEELING SHIFTING WITH LOUD BANGING LURCHES.THERE WERE TWO VERY DANGEROUS NEAR-WRECKS WHEN CAR JUST ROLLED OUT IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC BEFORE "BANG-ACCELERATE" - SEVERAL SECOND DELAY BEFORE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED. YIELD SIGNS ARE DANGEROUS IN TRAFFIC YOU HAVE TO COME TO A FULL STOP AND WAIT SEVERAL SECONDS, RISKING REAR-END COLLISIONS AND ANGRY HONKING FROM OTHERS COMING TO FAST STOPS. THE ALTERNATIVE IS TO PAUSE, THEN ACCELERATE WITH THE TRANSMISSION FREEWHEELING FOR A SECOND OR TWO BEFORE CATCHING AS IF YOU REVVED THE ENGINE AND THEN POPPED THE CLUTCH ON AN OLD STANDARD TRANSMISSION. THAT IS IF YOU ARE LUCKY, AND IT DOESN'T TAKE LONGER WHILE YOU ROLL OUT INTO TRAFFIC WITHOUT IT ACCELERATING. ALSO, MULTIPLE TIMES, IT FELT LIKE THE CAR BEING HIT WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND TAPPED BRAKE TO SLOW THEN ACCELERATE.THE TRANSMISSION FREE-WHEELED, THEN SHIFTED INTO AN UNKNOWN GEAR - SAME POP-THE-CLUTCH REACTION AS THE BRAKE IS RELEASED. IT ALSO DOES THESE THINGS OCCASIONALLY IN REVERSE PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY. THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T SEEM TO EVER KNOW THE SPEED CHANGED WHILE IT WAS THINKING ABOUT WHICH GEAR IT SHOULD USE. I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE TO SPECIFICALLY AVOID SUCH INCIDENTS SINCE I'VE HAD THE CAR. THE PERSON I SPOKE WITH EXPRESSED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO FIX THIS RECALL WERE ALL SOLD OUT AND SHE WASN'T SURE WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE COMING IN. NOW, I AM STUCK IN AN UNSAFE, FAULTY VEHICLE UNTIL IT CAN GET SERVICED TO THIS RECALL. IN THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IT STATES IN BOLD, "THE LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER COULD CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING." DRIVING THIS VEHICLE IN THE CONDITION THAT IT'S IN AND THE POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD IS LIFE THREATENING. WHAT EXACTLY AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW? I ENDED UP GETTING IT "FIXED" DOWN IN FLORDIA AND HAD TO TAKE TIME AND MONEY OUT OF THE VACATION TO FIX IT. DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY EMERGENCY TRANSMISSION SERVICE AND BRAKE SERVICE LIGHTS CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE I COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. I SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND RESTARTED IT, THIS TEMPORARILY SOLVED THE ISSUE. I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE FOR 2 MILES BEFORE THE VEHICLE SUFFERED FROM THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. I HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED AND TRANSMISSION REPAIRED. MY JEEP HAS LESS THEN 30,000 MILES.
