THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANS AXLE WIRE HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE PARTS BEING UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,450. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V5290000 (POWER TRAIN) WAS RECEIVED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2016. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE RECALL REMEDY WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE PROVIDED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE ON A CITY STREET, THE JEEP WOULD RANDOMLY LOSE POWER AND STOP MOVING. I WOULD BE ACCELERATING AFTER BEING AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE JEEP WOULD LOSE POWER AND STOP MOVING. ALSO, I WOULD BE TURNING THE CORNER AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AND THE JEEP WOULD LOSE POWER AND STOP MOVING. WHEN THIS OCCURRED, I WOULD PLACE THE JEEP INTO PARK AND TURN IT OFF. I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT A MINIMUM OF 5 MINUTES BEFORE IT WOULD RESTART. ONCE IT RESTARTED, I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE. I TOOK THE JEEP TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES BEFORE THEY WERE ABLE TO FIND A PROBABLE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THIS WAS ONLY AFTER I RE-CREATED THE PROBLEM FOR THEM SINCE THEY WERE UNABLE TO RECREATE IT. THEY THOUGHT THAT THE PROBLEM WAS POSSIBLY A FAILED FUEL PUMP MODULE AND THE CHARCOAL CANISTER SATURATED AND CONTAMINATED WITH RAW FUEL AS A RESULT OF FAULTY FUEL PUMP MODULE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ALSO STARTED TO SHUDDER. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCED HARD SHIFTS BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DON MILLER DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM FIAT (5802 ODANA RD, MADISON, WI 53719, (608) 270-5000) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
WHILE DRIVING SERVICE TRANSMISSION DISPLAY CAME ON. SOON AFTER LOST ACCELERATION TO CAR UNABLE TO DRIVE
WHEN I GOT OFF WORK ONE MORNING, ABOUT TO GET ON INTERSTATE BUT JEEP WAS ACTING FUNNY, ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, SO I DECIDED TO STAY ON SERVICE ROAD, CAME TO A LIGHT AND STOPPED, MIND YOU ALL THE LIGHTS WERE BLINKING AND THEN MY WIPERS STARTED GOING OFF, THE JEEP WOULDN'T GO THEN IT DIED. I TRIED THREE TIMES TO PUSH THE START BUTTON BUT THE JEEP DIDNT START UNTIL FINALLY THE 3RD TIME, IT DIDN'T DRIVE WELL, SPUDDERS UNTIL I PULLED OVER INTO A PARKING LOT, THE CAR WARNING LIGHTS WERE ON AND FLASHING WIPERS GOING WITHOUT BEING ON. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES AND IT CAME BACK ON STILL HAD WARNING LIGHTS ON BUT NOT FLASHING AND THE CAR DROVE FINE ALL THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 5 WEEKS AGO THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. ABOUT TWO WEEKS I WAS BACKING UP, THEN PUT IN DRIVE AND THE JEEP CONTINUE TO BACK UP, HAD TO PUT IN PARK THEN IN DRIVE TO GO FORWARD THIS HAPPEN THREE TIMES ON THAT DAY, THEN ON SAME DAY WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND GOING ABOUT 73 MPH IT WAS DRIVING ROUGH, THE RPMS STAYED ON 4 AND NEVER DID IDAL DOWN. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AGAIN, NOTHING WRONG. THEN ON FRIDAY 7/29/16 SAME THING WITH ALL THE LIGHTS AND WIPERS GOING OFF, BACK TO DEALERSHIP, AS OF YESTERDAY TUESDAY STILL NOTHING WRONG. I BROUGHT WITH 176 MILES ON IT, NEVER GOT THE EXTRA WARRENTY OR SERVICE WARRENTY SORRY DON'T THE MONEY FOR THAT, I HAD TO PAY FOR MY OWN RENT A CAR, DEALERSHIP WON'T PAY FOR IT. I HAVE 57000 MILES ON MY CAR IN TWO YEARS, ALL HWY MILES I WORK FAR FROM HOME. I WANT TO TRADE BUT WILL BE UPSIDE DOWN VERY BAD. CAR CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING CLUNK WHEN PUTTING INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE HAS DELAYED ACCELERATION SOMETIMES NO ACCELERATION CAR RADIO DOES NOT COME ON AT ALL OR THE SCREEN FREEZES TRACTION CONTROL GOES ON AND OF ON ITS OWN ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING PROPERLY OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND HALF I EXPRESSED CONCERNS WHEN I FIRST TEST DROVE THE CAR MY DEALER TOLD ME HE WOULD SEND THE CAR TO JEEP I BOUGHT IT FROM A CHEVY DEALER WITH ABOUT 34,200 MILES AS I SAID OWNED THE CAR LESS THAN 2 MONTHS HAWTHORNE CHEVROLET HAS SENT MY VEHICLE TO JEEP BEEN WITHOUT FOR OVER A WEEK HAVE NOT EVEN MADE 1ST PAYMENT YET CONTACTED JEEP CORPORATE I HAVE A CASE # 3009-95-39 BUT STILL NO SATIFACTION
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION JERKED FORWARD WHEN THE CONTACT'S FOOT RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AT LEAST TEN TIMES AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,800.
TRANSMISSION FAILED 07/21/2016. CAR REFUSED TO START AND HAD BOTH CHECK ENGINE AND SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGES. DEALER REPLACED TRANSMISSION WITH 2016 MODEL THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO SOLVE THE ISSUES. AT THIS POINT THE CAR HAS 19,866 MILES SHOWING. ON 5/29/2019, SAME PROBLEM SHOWED UP, CAR REFUSED TO START, CHECK ENGINE AND SERVICE TRANSMISSION MESSAGES. AFTER A WEEK AT THE DEALERSHIP I WAS ADVISED THAT THE BEST GUESS? WAS I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE CONTROL MODULE AT A COST O 900.00 SINCE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I ASKED IF THIS DID NOT FIX IT WOULD THEY BUY THE MODULE BACK AND WAS ADVISED NO. CURRENTLY THE CAR IS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY, I AM AFRAID TO ATTEMPT TO DRIVE IT AND FEAR THE TRANSMISSION WILL FAIL WHILE I AM ON THE HIGHWAY AND BECOME INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AS I ATTEMPT TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD. THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE KEEPS THE ENGINE FROM OPERATING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OF AND RESTARTED AFTER A FEW MINUTES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BROWN FORD (888-799-6294, LOCATED AT 483 NY-112, PATCHOGUE, NY 11772) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN REPROGRAMMED THE SOFTWARE. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,786.
I HAVE RECEIVED 2 SAFETY RECALLS R40/NHTSA 15V-461 S 27/ NHTSA 16V-240 I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TWICE TO THE DEALER FOR THE BUCKING IN THE TRANSMISSION. I ATTEMPTED TO BRING IN THE VEHICLE EARLY AUGUST APPT. TODAY IS 7/25, I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THERE WAS TIME FOR AN OIL CHANGE, HOWEVER I NEED TO WAIT TILL 8/29 TO ADDRESS THE RECALLS. LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING ON DASH INCLUDING TRANSMISSION NEEDS SERVICE. THEN CAR JUST LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING . VERY DANGEROUS AS I HAD TO COAST ACROSS 3 LANES OF HEAVY TRAFFIC. LUCKILY OTHER DRIVERS WERE PAYING ATTENTION AND BRAKED FOR ME OR IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BAD REAR END COLLISION. THE CAR TOLD ME TO RESTART IT. THAT ALLOWED ME TO DRIVE IT HOME WITH SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT ON . MADE SERVICE APPOINTMENT IMMEDIATELY. WHEN I WENT TO TAKE IT SERVICE A WEEK LATER, THE CAR HAD RESET ITSELF!!! DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE TO RECALL THE FAILURE CODES
WHEN "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" INDICATOR GOES ON, THE TRANSMISSION BECOMES INEFFECTIVE AND VEHICLE LOOSES POWER. THE VEHICLE USUALLY REMAINS IN THIS CONDITION FOR SEVERAL HOURS BEFORE INDICATOR WARNING GOES AWAY AND TRANSMISSION BECOMES OPERATIVE. DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A SOFTWARE FIX BUT THE PROBLEM HAS REOCCURRED SINCE THE FIX. CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY IF PROBLEM OCCURS AT HIGH SPEEDS OR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE SEVERAL OCCURANCES TO-DATE HAVE ALL OCCURRED AT LOW SPEEDS. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE

SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR NEW, IT SPORADICALLY HESITATES WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS AND SOMETIMES IT LURCHES FORWARD. TWICE I HAVE ALMOST BEEN BROADSIDED WHEN PULLING OUT ONTO A HIGHWAY OR CHANGING LANES. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR IN TRAFFIC BECAUSE IT IS UNPREDICTABLE AND I CAME VERY CLOSE TO BEING HIT WITH MY GRANDSON IN THE CAR LAST MONTH. DRIVERS THINK I DELIBERATELY SLOW DOWN AND THEY GET ANGRY WITH ME. IN MY DRIVEWAY, SOMETIMES THE ENGINE JUST REVS INSTEAD OF MOVING THE CAR LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL BUT I HAVE IT IN DRIVE. OTHER TIMES I TRY TO SLOWLY PULL UP BEHIND A CAR AT A STOP SIGN AND THE CAR WILL LURCH FORWARD. IT IS LIKE THE CAR SHIFTS ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL AND IT DOESN'T MATTER IF I AM SITTING STILL IN THE DRIVEWAY OR GOING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE SEEN THE TACHOMETER REV UP WHEN THIS OCCURS. I AM GOING TO BE HIT ONE OF THESE DAYS IF SOMETHING ISN'T DONE. I ASKED THE DEALER IF OTHER JEEPS ARE DOING IT AND HE SAID, "YES", BUT DIDN'T OFFER ANY SOLUTION. THERE HAVE ALREADY BEEN THREE RECALLS ON THIS MODEL AND YEAR FOR COMPROMISED UCONNECT COMPUTER SYSTEM, WINDSHIELD WIPER SHORTING PROBLEM AND LIFT GATE, BUT THEY ARE NOT LIFE THREATENING LIKE THE CURRENT PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH, BUT SOMETIMES DAILY....NO PATTERN OR REASON. IT CAN BE FIRST THING IN THE MORNING WHEN I PULL OUT OF THE GARAGE OR ON A LONG TRIP. USUALLY IT DOESN'T LAST LONG, BUT LONG ENOUGH TO LEAVE ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD OR LANE CHANGE WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE ODOMETER JUST TURNED OVER 21,000 MILES.
MY JEEP HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE IN 2 WEEKS FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES, HARD SHIFTS LUNGING, LOST POWER ECT...THEY RETRAINED MY TRANSMISSION THE FIRST TIME & REPLACED THE VALVE BODY THE 2ND TIME. YET IT IS STILL NOT WORKING RIGHT.
WHEN I TURN WIPERS ON HIGH THEY SHUT OFF. CHRYSLER SAID THEY ARE GETTING A NEW BODY CONTROL MODULE. I HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE JUNE 2016. I FEEL IT IS DANGEROUS AND IF THEY CAN'T FIX IT THEY SHOULD GIVE US S NEW CAR. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN HEAVY RAIN AND PUT MY WIPERS ON HIGH AND THEY QUIT!

TURNED CAR OFF, SAT FOR A FEW MINUTES, RESTARTED CAR, "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" LIGHT WAS OFF, BUT SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND REMAINED ON. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE CAR. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES, I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER. WAITING TO HEAR BACK WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.
TRANSMISSION ELECTRONICALLY SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO MANUAL, WHILE IN TRAFFIC, THREE TIMES SO FAR. SERVICE TRANSMISSION, SERVICE EMERGENCY BRAKE, TRACTION CONTROL OFF, AND MIL ILLUMINATED(CODE P0887 STORED). SOFTWARE UPDATES PREFORMED IN JULY. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ERRATICALLY AT LOW SPEEDS SINCE UPDATES AND PROBLEM BACK IN OCTOBER OF 2016, WITH A REAR END COLLISION BARELY AVERTED.
THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY THROW CODE AND BEGIN FLASHING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. IT HAPPENED TO ME WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET IN ALL 3 CASES. LUCKILY I WAS NOT YET ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THE RECALL THAT HAS NO SOLUTION. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. THE CAR BECOMES UNDRIVEABLE WHILE IN MOTION. I COMMUTE 85 MILES PER DAY ON A HIGHWAY WITH A 15 MO OLD BABY. THIS IS NOT SAFE. THERE IS NO SOLUTION. I WANT A WAY OUT OF THE CAR BEFORE SEEKING LITIGATION. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN 6 WEEKS.

RECALL NUMBER 16V-529 HAS NOT BEEN REMEDIED FOR 3 YEARS, AND I'VE EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS ISSUES BECAUSE OF IT. JEEP WILL NOT LOOK AT IT FOR FREE DESPITE THE FACT THAT I'M AFFECTED BY THIS WARRANTY. MY CAR SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING FREQUENTLY, AND IT'S UNACCEPTABLE THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A FIX FOR THIS YET.

EVERY TIME THE CAR WENT IN FOR A RECALL I WOULD TELL THEM. THE SAME ANSWER, NO LIGHTS NO CODES NO PROBLEM. FINALE I HAD A PROBLEM WITH ELECTRICAL. AFTER 3 DAYS THEY FOUND A PINCHED WIRE IN THE MAIN HARNESS GOING THROUGH THE FIRE WALL. THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THE NEXT TIME THE CAR FAILED IN SAFE MODE ( DO NOT SHUT IT OFF ), HAVE IT TOWED WITH THE CAR RUNNING , THIS WAY THEY COULD CHECK THE CODES IN THE FAIL MODE. A SOFTWARE 6 FLASH FOR TCM AND A PCM. 3 DAYS LATER ON JULY 4 IT HAPPENED 4 TIMES, THEN 4 TIMES GOING TO WORK AT NIGHT ON JULY 4 FOR JULY 5. THEN ON JULY 5 GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP . I HAD IT TOWED IN SAFE MODE. AFTER ABOUT 2 HOURS THEY CALLED ME. IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. NO ONE EVER CALLS ME BACK, SEEMINGLY REFUSING TO HANDLE THE RECALL.

I FINALLY - AFTER 10 VISITS TO THE JEEP REPAIR SHOP - UNDERSTAND FROM THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE CAR NEEDS A NEW ENGINE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. BUT THEY SAY THIS IS ACCEPTABLE UNDER JEEP GUIDELINES AND WON'T PAY FOR THE NEW ENGINE... I'VE PUT OVER 20 QUARTS OF EXPENSIVE SYNTHETIC OIL IN MY CAR OVER THE PAST YEAR AND NEVER KNOW IF THE CAR WILL BE SAFE TO DRIVE. THIS IS THE WORST CAR I'VE EVER HAD AND I'M DISGUSTED WITH JEEP. I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND MY CAR REFUSED TO GO INTO REVERSE, BUT WOULD GO FORWARD INSTEAD. I ENDED UP HAVING TO STOP THE ENGINE AND RESTART THE CAR IN ORDER TO GET IT TO GO INTO REVERSE. WHEN I SPOKE TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, THEY SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AT LEAST 5 TIMES BEFORE THEY WOULD ADDRESS IT. BOTH INCIDENTS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS IN BUSY AREAS IN OUR TOWN.

IT HAS TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE FIRST AND THIRD TIME WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THE VALVE BODY NEEDED REPLACED. THE FIRST TIME WAS IN JAN OF 2016 AND IT WENT UNTIL MAY BEFORE THE 2ND TIME OCCURRED. WE NOW HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN THE GARAGE FOR ALL BESIDES 2 WEEKS UNTIL IT HAS DONE IT FOR THE 4TH TIME. THE THIRD TIME WE HAD IT FOR 3 HOURS. WE WERE TOLD CHRYSLER WOULD NOTT REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION ON THE LAST VISIT. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY REPORTS OF TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS REPORTED TO CHRYSLER AND THAT THEY ARE AVOIDING A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES. WHEN THESE VEHICLES GO INTO NEATRAL SAFETY MODE.
