THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLOCKSPRING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,400.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH IN REVERSE, THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A SECOND VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER AN IGNITION SWITCH MANUFACTURERS RECALL TWO YEARS AGO. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED THIS TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING IGNITION SWITCH WAS REPLACED DEALER CAN,T FIND ANY OTHER PROBLEM I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY 3 TIMES AND A COUPLE TIMES ON A LOCAL STREET
N23 RECALL PERFORMED PRIOR TO PURCHASING USED JEEP COMMANDER. A WEEK AFTER PURCHASING I RECEIVE A "SERVICE 4WD" MESSAGE AND AM UNABLE TO TO USE 40. CHRYSLER DEALER HAS FLASHED FDCM WHICH CORRECTED THE ISSUE FOR SEVERAL DAYS, HOWEVER THE SERVICE 4WD HAS COME BACK ON. THE SERVICE 4WD APPEARS ON STARTUP NEARLY EVERY TIME.
STALLING PROBLEMS WHILE DRIVING. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR NOW, I WAS TOLD BY JEEP TO GET P41 RECALL REPAIRED AND POSSIBLY FIX THE PROBLEM. I'VE HAD P41 DONE AND THE SAME PROBLEM KEEPS HAPPENING. EVERYTHING JUST COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN AND I AM UNABLE TO STEER AND HAVE TO RESTART THE ENGINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME NUMEROUS OF TIMES INCLUDING DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I'VE CONTACTED JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE, I WAS TOLD I WAS THE ONLY ONE THEY KNOW OF REGARDING THIS ISSUE WHICH IS NOT TRUE. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS DASHBOARD LIGHTS WILL LIGHT UP ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALL LIGHT INDICATORS WILL STAY ON FOR PERIOD OF TIME UNTIL CAR IS RESTARTED AGAIN.
WHEN DRIVING MY JEEP COMMANDER IT STALLS. IT HAPPENS WHEN I AM STOPPED AND TRY TO GO OR WHEN I SLOW DOWN THEN TRY AND ACCELERATE. MY LIFE HAS BEEN AT RISK WHEN THIS HAPPENS. ONE OF THE TIMES I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE GOING 65MPH AND IT STALLED. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET ABOUT THIS ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE A 2 YEAR OLD SON THAT IS IN THE CAR WITH ME.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLES ARE BREAKING APART. MINE HAVE NOT GOTTEN TO WHERE THEY WILL NOT OPERATE YET BUT THEY ARE LOOSE I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF GETTING STUCK IN THE JEEP IF THEY QUIT WORKING. ONLINE THEY ARE AFTERMARKET FIXES FOR THIS PROBLEM WHICH MEANS THERE ARE A LOT OF JEEPS WITH THIS PROBLEM. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NOT A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT IS BEING OVER LOOKED.
3 OF 4 INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BROKEN AND INOPERABLE
THIS VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH EXPERIENCING AN UNINTENDED CHANGE IN IGNITION SWITCH POSITION AND BECAUSE THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS LOOSE MADE IT DIFFICULT AT TIMES TO START AND REMAIN RUNNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR RECALL WORK AND WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED, HOWEVER UPON PICKING IT UP THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO START AND THE DEALERSHIP STATED IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE NEW IGNITION SYSTEM AND THAT YOU HAD TO PRESS AND TURN THE KEY JUST RIGHT FOR IT TO START. THIS CONDITION ONLY WORSENED THE NEXT WEEK AND EVENTUALLY THE CAR WOULD NOT START AT ALL. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY STARTED THE STARTER AND THE WIRING TO THE STARTER WAS FRIED AND THAT IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE IGNITION REPLACEMENT AND SAID IT WOULD COST OVER $800.00 TO REPAIR!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND 13V175000 (POWER TRAIN , ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
ALL THE ELECTRICAL ON MY DASH MOST THE TIME IS LINES AND FLICKERS, BUT DECIDES TO SHOW UP ONCE IN A WHILE FOR A MINUTE OR TWO. MY BIG PROBLEM IS STARTING THE CAR. IT DOES THIS CLICK CLICK SOUND MOST THE TIME BUT THEN STARTS ONCE IN A WHILE OUT OF THE BLUE. I HAVE BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WITHIN THE LAST YEAR. IT ALSO SLAMS FROM GEAR TO GEAR! I HAVE HAD FOUR DIFFERENT DIAGNOSTIC TESTS DONE BY DIFFERENT PLACES & I HAVE BEEN FIGHTING WITH THIS FOR A COUPLE YEARS!

THE CAR JUMPS AND THEN STALLS WHEN IT IS IDLING IN REVERSE OR DRIVE. IT ALSO WILL ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN AND THE BRAKES ARE HARD TO PRESS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE LIGHTING BOLT APPEARS AND THE ANTI SIDE LIGHTS ON THE DASH, THEN THE CARE EITHER DOESN'T RESPOND TO PRESSING THE GAS AND IS HARDER TO PRESS THE BRAKES. I HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR FOR IT TO WORK. THIS ALL BEGAN AFTER RECALLS BEING UPDATED, IT HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS MY POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODUAL AND THAT IT HAS BEEN RECALLED IN OTHER VEHICLES FOR THE SAME REASONS BUT THERE IS NO RECALL ATTACHED TO MY VIN ACCORDING TO CHRYSLER. IVE DONE RESEARCH ONLINE AND NUMEROUS OTHER JEEP COMMANDERS AND OTHER JEEP MODULES MADE AROUND THE SAME TIME ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS ON GOING AND HAS BEEN FOR OVER A YEAR BUT HAS GOTTEN MUCH WORSE AFTER FIXING OF RECALLS A FEW MONTHS AGO. THE DATE BELOW IS ESTIMATE OF WHEN THE RECALL WAS FIXED.
THIS IS IN RESPONSE TO THE RECALL FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH ON MY 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP BUT YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT THE REPLACEMENT DOES NOT CURE THE PROBLEMS THAT IT WAS MEANT TO FIX. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED AT 9:30AM AND THE NEXT TIME I DROVE THAT DAY,IT DID THE SAME EXACT SHUTDOWN AS IT DID BEFORE (WITH ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASH FLASHING).THE STALLING AND SHUTDOWN DOES NOT OCCUR BECAUSE OF HITTING THE KEY WITH YOUR LEG AS I AM ONLY 5'4" AND MY LEG DOESN'T TOUCH THE IGNITION. THE SHUTDOWN OCCURS BECAUSE OF A SHORT SOMEWHERE INSIDE THE IGNITION. IT OCCURS RANDOMLY AND SOMETIMES CAN BE STOPPED BY LIGHTLY TURNING THE KEY TO THE LEFT. I HAVE ALSO FOUND THAT THE SHUTDOWN OCCURS AT EXTREME FREQUENCY WHEN DRIVING IN HEAVY RAIN OR EXTREMELY SLUSHY ROADS, WHICH TELLS ME THAT SOMEWHERE, SOMETHING IS GETTING WET AND SHORTING THE VEHICLE OUT. IT IS VERY HARD TO GET THE LIGHTS TO STOP FLASHING IN THIS TYPE OF WEATHER AND I HAVE HAD TO PULL OVER A COUPLE TIMES BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF STALLING IN TRAFFIC. I AM STUCK WITH THIS DANGEROUS VEHICLE BECAUSE OF MY FINANCIAL SITUATION AND HAVE FOUGHT FOR SOMETHING TO BE DONE ABOUT IT BY THE DEALER STARTING 20 DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT IT BUT OF COURSE NOTHING WAS DONE UNTIL THE GOVERNMENT GOT INVOLVED AND SADLY IT STILL HASN'T CURED THE PROBLEM. 2006 JEEP COMMANDER WITH 93000. I HAVE HAD SERVICED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER BRAKES AND SUSPENSION. BRAKES WILL JUST GRIND WHEN TRYING TO STOP AT TIMES. BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. EVERY MECHANIC HAS SAID EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD. HAD BIGOTIRES DO 3 INSPECTIONS ON BRAKES AND SUSPENSION AND EVERYTHING CHECKED OUT! SUSPENSION- I HAVE HAD SERVICES 3 TIMES. ALL NEW PARTS HAVE BEEN PUT ON FRONT DRIVERS SIDE YET PROBLEM STILL PERSIST. POPPING NOISE AND SQUEAKING WHEN TURNING AND HITTING SPEED BUMPS OR POT HOLES AND VERY NOISY WHEN BACKING UP. LIGHTING HAS ALSO STARTED TO GO OFF AND ON! I BELIEVE SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE LIGHTING. SOMETIMES WHEN I TURN THEM ON THEY DO NOT COME ON AND ONCE I TURNED THEM OFF AND THEY DID NOT TURN OFF AND MADE BATTERY GO DEAD BUT ONCE JUMPS THEY WERE BACK TO NORMAL EXCEPT MY BACK TAIL LIGHT WHICH I HAVE TRIED HAVING REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HEAD LIGHT HAS SOME MAJOR ISSUES! ALSO IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE WHEN IT RAINS EVEN WITH BRAND NEW WIPERS THERE JUST WASN'T MUCH THOUGHT PUT INTO THE COMMANDERS! TOO MANY BLIND SPOTS AND ALSO DOOR HANDLES ON THE INSIDE EASILY BREAK OFF!
PASSENGER REAR DOOR HANDLE INSERT BROKE DURING A REAR END COLLISION, IT IS NOW CRACKED.

I RECEIVED RECALL LETTER FOR IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEMS SINCE LAST YEAR. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND NOTIFIED ABOUT THE RECALL ,THEY PUT ME ON WAITING LIST AND DIDN'T CALL ME BACK. I CALLED THEM AND WENT AGAIN AND THEY TELL ME JUST TO WAIT. I'M TIRED TO CLAIM THEM.
