FAULTY BLEND DOORS IN 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LTD A/C UNIT. *TR
2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE FUEL TANK DESIGN *TGW THE CONSUMER BELIEVED AN URGENT RECALL WAS NEEDED TO PROTECT THE 2.2 MILLION DRIVERS WHO OWN JEEPS. *JB
MY VEHICLE IS AN 02 OVERLAND. MY DRIVER SIDE HEATED SEATS NO LONGER WORKS. ONE MORNING IT WAS JUST DEAD AND PASSENGERS ARE CONSTANTLY COMPLAINING ABOUT THE INTENSE HEAT COMING FROM THEIR SEAT. I HAVE NEVER BEEN INFORMED OF THIS AS A FAULTY UNIT BUT NOW SEEING THE COMPLAINTS ONLINE I WOULD LIKE TO VOICE MY ISSUE AND HAVE MY SEATS CHECKED OUT OR DISABLED. I REALLY APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE. *TR
2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH FRONT WINDOW REGULATORS *TGW THE FRONT WINDOW REGULATORS WERE REPLACED BY AN AUTHORIZED JEEP REPAIR FACILITY THREE TIMES IN THE PAST 14 MONTHS. THE CONSUMER STATED BASED ON OWNER REPORTS, THE PLASTIC PIECE ON THE WINDOW LIFT MECHANISM THAT HELD THE CABLE APPEARED TO BE AT LEAST PART OF THE PROBLEM.
DRIVER SEAT MADE SLIGHT BUMPING NOISE WHEN MOVING SEAT BACK AND FORTH ON A DAILY BASIS FOR ABOUT A MONTH. I WAS THEN INVOLVED IN A VERY LOW IMPACT ACCIDENT WHERE I WAS HIT IN THE RIGHT FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. AT IMPACT OF COLLISION THE DRIVERS SEAT COMPLETELY SHEARED OFF OF THE BRACKET. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN! I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. IM NOW FIGHTING WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO FIX THIS SEAT. THEY ARE STATING THAT IT IS NOT NORMAL FOR A SEAT TO BREAK LIKE THIS FROM A LOW IMPACT COLLISION. APPARENTLY FROM EVERYTHING I HAVE READ ONLINE IT TAKES VERY LITTLE FOR THESE SEATS TO BREAK AND THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
TL- THE CONTACT OWNS 1996 AND 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND TOOK HIS VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS AND WAS TOLD THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. -HB
FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT SEEMED WOBBLY, LOOKED UNDER SEAT AND BRACKET THAT HOLDS SEAT TO THE RAILS IS BROKEN ON FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE. YOU CAN NOW LEAN BACK AND FRONT OF SEAT LIFTS UP. VERY DANGEROUS. IF THERE WAS A CRASH, YOU COULD EASILY END UP IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR. I HAVE LOOKED AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SITUATION WITH THE JEEPS, 1 SITE HAD OVER 2600 COMPLAINTS IN A 2 YEAR PERIOD. I TOOK OFF THE SIDE OF THE SEAT AND ADDED 2 NYLON STRAPS TO HOLD SEAT DOWN TO RAIL. I HAVE READ MANY PLACES WHERE PEOPLE HAVE THIS WELDED BACK TOGETHER AND IT BREAKS AGAIN. METAL IS VERY THIN, NOT BUILT TO TAKE STRAIN OF ANY KIND. *TR
RECENTLY MY FRONT DRIVER SEAT ON MY 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND STARTED TO ROCK BACK AND FORTH AND FELT VERY "LOOSE". I LOOKED UNDER THE SEAT AND FOUND THAT THE VERY THIN METAL THAT HAD BEEN CONNECTED TO THE SEAT FRAME/RAIL HAD FRACTURED AND ONE BOLT HAD ACTUALLY BORED THROUGH THE METAL HOLE OPENING BETWEEN THE TWO ASSEMBLIES. *TR
2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED. MAY 2010 FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FELL DOWN WHILE DRIVING. MARCH 2011 BACK DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FELL DOWN WHILE DRIVING WITH MY 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER ON THAT SIDE. WENT TO DEALER SAID IT WOULD COST $800 TO FIX BOTH WINDOWS. THE WAY IT SOUNDS THIS IS HAPPENING ALOT. IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. HAD TO DRIVE 30 MINUTES IN 20 DEGREE WEATHER HOME WITH DAUGHTER IN CAR. SOMETHING THINGS TO HAPPEN ASAP. TO MUCH MONEY TO BE SPENDING EVER 6 MONTHS TO A YEAR. *TR
THE WHEELS ON MY VEHICLE ARE CHROME PLATED, AND HAVE BEEN PEELING AND CHIPPING. THIS HAS CAUSED AIR TO LEAK FROM THE THE TIRE BEAD. I HAVE HAD THE WHEELS BRUSHED AND CLEANED AT LEAST SIX TIMES EACH AND THEY STILL LEAK. AT 380.00$ FOR A RE-CONDITIONED WHEEL IS NOT A GOOD FIX SINCE I HAVE PAID ON THE AVERAGE OF 30.00$ FOR REPAIRS. I JUST RECENTLY NOTICED THAT THEIR IS CRACKING NEAR THE HUB. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V527000 (AIR BAGS ) WAS PERFORMED THE RECALL REPAIRS BUT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
NOTICED A FAILURE OF DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT MOUNT. SEAT NOW ROCKS BACK AND FORTH BECAUSE FRONT OF SEAT MOUNTS BECAME FATIGUED AND FAILED. AFTER DOING SOME INTERNET RESEARCH, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER HEATED ELECTRIC SEATS WERE OVERHEATING ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH OF THE FRONT SEAT HEATING ELEMENTS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 86,480. UPDATED 05/04/11 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED T HE SEAT BECAME VERY HOT AND THEN STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER. UPDATED 05/09/11
AIRBAG RECALL (M35 / NHTSA 12V-527). AFTER REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED ON 03/26/2014 THE AIRBAG AND SEATBELT WARNING LIGHTS STILL ON. DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO REPAIR THE DEFECT. ON 06/16/2014 DEALER STILL NOT ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE AND ASKED FOR $250 TO FURTHER INSPECT THE CAR TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE. DEALER WROTE ON PAPERWORK "NO COMMUNICATION FROM ORC NEED MORE TIME (AND MONEY) TO DIAGNOSE. CUSTOMER DECLINED AT THIS TIME". I RECEIVED THE FIRST NOTICE IN JAN 2013 AND THE OFFICIAL RECALL MONTHS LATER. NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE FOR MONTHS. AS SOON AS I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. HOW CAN IT TAKE ALMOST TWO YEARS (FROM FALL 2012) AND STILL NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM? IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE MANUFACTURER IS DELAYING THE REPAIR AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO REDUCE OVERTIME THE NUMBER OF REPAIRS. *TR
I OWN A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND BOTH OF THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THERE WAS NO IMPACT OR COLLISION. I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN WHEN THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THEN A COUPLE OF SECONDS LATER THE DRIVER SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG DEPLOYED. I PULLED INTO THE STORE PARKING LOT AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A SERVICE SHOP. INSURANCE INVESTIGATOR DETERMINED IT WAS MECHANICAL FAILURE. *TR

THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND STAYED ON. THE DEALER TELLS ME THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE AIR BAG OPERATING MODULE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE WOULD CONSTANTLY OVERHEAT, CAUSING THE RADIATOR TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN THE TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES FOR THE FAILURE WHERE THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED, TRANSMISSION SEALS AND FLUID WERE REPLACED. THE RADIATOR WAS REPLACED TWICE YET THE REPAIRS DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE AND THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO OVERHEAT SPORADICALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE TO THE CONTACT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,530 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 179,705.
TURN SIGNALS ONLY WORK INTERMITTENTLY. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THIS AS A PROBLEM WITH JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO VEHICLES MADE IN 2002 AND 2003, POSSIBLY OTHER YEARS. THIS ABSOLUTELY SHOULD BE UNDER RECALL. PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION. THANK YOU. *TR
THE HEATED SEAT ON MY 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND OVERHEATED AND BURNED MY LEGS. I NOW LEAVE THE HEATED SEAT TURNED OFF. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE JEEP DEALER AND THEY STATED IT NEEDS A NEW SEAT HEATER ASSEMBLY AND WILL COST $800.00. I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THAT MUCH SO I DID NOT HAVE IT REPLACED. I SAW A RECALL NOTICE ON THE NHTSA WEB SITE AND DISCUSSED THIS WITH THE JEEP DEALER. THE JEEP DEALER STATED THAT MY JEEP IS NOT COVERED IN THE RECALL. *TR
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:INTERIOR/UNDER DASH. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER : 01V288000 MY 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IS HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES OF THIS NATURE. CAR LOST DIRECTIONALS AND HEATER/DEFROSTER, BRAKE LIGHTS ON HIGHWAY. ALL ELECTRICAL RELATED. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 01V374000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVER). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 186,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED. THE CONTACT DROVE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE AND NOTICED THAT THE ANTIFREEZE WAS BOILING IN THE OVERFLOW CONTAINER. THE CONTACT LET THE VEHICLE COOL OFF AND ADDED ANTI FREEZE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE RADIATOR FAN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE AND WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V199000 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:FAN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000 .
I WAS DRIVING MY 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WHEN I BEGAN TO TAKE A RIGHT TURN INTO A SHOPPING CENTER. SUDDENLY, WITHOUT WARNING, MY SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG DEPLOYED WITH GREAT FORCE. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE VEHICLE AND THEN PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE WITHOUT INCIDENT. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND THAT THERE HAD BEEN NO IMPACT, NO DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE IN ANY WAY, EXCEPT THAT THE SIDE AIRBAG WAS NOW HANGING DOWN. CHRYSLER INITIALLY REFUSED TO PAY FOR ANY PART OF THE INCIDENT, THEN FINALLY AGREED TO PAY FOR THE AIRBAG TO BE RE-INSTALLED. I WAS MADE TO PAY FOR THE AIRBAG SENSOR ($200), THE AIRBAG CONSOLE ($320) AND A $100 DEPOSIT ON THE AIRBAG ITSELF. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL YET THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CHANGE LANES TO AVOID A CRASH AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AFTER HE CONTINUOUSLY APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,000. IN DECEMBER OF 2010 MY SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED SPONTANEOUSLY WHILE TURNING INTO A SHOPPING CENTER IN WOODBRIDGE, VA. AFTER SURVEYING THE VEHICLE AND FINDING NO EVIDENCE OF ANY CRASH OR OTHER REASON FOR THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO LUSTINE JEEP IN WOODBRIDGE, VA. THEY LOOKED OVER THE VEHICLE AND TOLD ME THAT IT COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED THE WAY I DESCRIBED IT. AFTER FIGHTING WITH CHRYSLER THEY AGREED TO COVER SOME OF THE COST OF REPLACING THE AIRBAG. I WAS CHARGED $600 TOTAL. THEN IN NOVEMBER OF 2012 I LEARNED THAT JEEP WAS RECALLING GRAND CHEROKEES AND LIBERTYS IN MY VEHICLES AGE RANGE FOR EXACTLY WHAT I DESCRIBED HAPPENED TO ME IN 2010. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE SPOKEN TO NUMEROUS PEOPLE FROM THE JEEP DEALERSHIP AND FROM CHRYSLER. I HAVE RECEIVED ONE RECALL NOTICE THAT TOLD ME I WOULD BE RECEIVING A SECOND NOTICE ONCE A VENDOR HAD BEEN FOUND TO PRODUCE THE NEW CORRECTIVE PART. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT I COULD NOT REQUEST A REFUND OF THE $600 I WAS CHARGED UNTIL I GET THE SECOND NOTICE. I WAS TOLD TO EXPECT THE SECOND NOTICE IN MARCH OR APRIL OF THIS YEAR BUT THAT HAS NOT HAPPENED. IT IS NOW ALMOST JUNE AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ADDRESS THIS. I AM DRIVING AROUND A VEHICLE THAT COULD POP ITS AIRBAG AT ANY MOMENT AND I CANNOT GET CHRYSLER TO ADDRESS THE MONEY THAT WAS TAKEN FROM ME FOR A SAFETY ISSUE THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF IN 2010. THIS EVENING, WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN IN MY 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO, THE METAL BASE STRUCTURE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT SHEERED OFF IN THE RIGHT FRONT POSITION. THIS HAS RESULTED IN THE SEAT BEING SECURED TO THE VEHICLE BY ONLY THE OTHER THREE POSITIONS, AND THE SEAT WOBBLES BACK AND FORTH. THE VEHICLE IS NOW UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IN A COLLISION, THE FAILURE OF THIS SEAT IS ASSURED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLED A STRONG BURNING ODOR. THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE ENGINE OVERHEATED. THE VEHICLE RESUMED WITH CAUTION TO THE DEALER AND THEY INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V199000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:FAN). THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE NOT BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,162.
A VEHICLE RECALL NOTICE WAS RECEIVED 13 MONTHS AGO ADVISING OF IMMINENT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT IN VEHICLES WHICH HAVE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHTS ON. THIS DESCRIPTION FITS MY VEHICLE. OVER 13 MONTHS LATER, AND NONE OF THE JEEP DEALERSHIPS IN THE DENVER AREA HAVE EVER RECEIVED PARTS FOR THIS REPAIR. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST CHRYSLER REGARDING THE FAILURE TO FIX RECALLED UNITS. 13 MONTHS IS A BIT EXTREME. AND ON TOP OF THAT, NEW RECALLS HAVE SINCE BEEN ANNOUNCED REGARDING THE PLASTIC FUEL TANK. I DOUBT THAT I'LL EVER SEE THAT REPAIR... *TR
I HAVE A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE SEAT FRAME BROKE THROUGH COMPLETELY WITH NORMAL WEAR, LESS THAN 100K MILES ON THE CAR. I TOOK THE CAR TO GET IT INSPECTED AND IT FAILED BECAUSE OF THE SEAT. SOMETHING THIS SERIOUS SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR

DRIVING HOME FROM A SOCCER GAME WITH 3 KIDS AND MYSELF IN A 2002 JEEP. I WAS COMING TO A STOP, WHEN I LOST CONTROL OF THE SUV. THE FRAME OF THE JEEP BROKE FROM RUST. THE JEEP HAD THE UNDERSIDE COATED WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED. JEEP DID NOTHING TO HELP SOLVE THIS PROBLEM, AND IT HAD TO GO TO THE SALVAGE YARD. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER JEEP PRODUCT. MY AUTO BODY SHOP SAID THE OTHER SIDE WAS ALMOST RUSTED THROUGH ALSO, SO REPAIR COST WOULD MORE THAN IT WOULD BE WORTH. I HAVE READ THE RECENT NEWS ON THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE GRAND CHEROKEE GAS TANKS. BOTH MY WIFE AND I OWN THEM. I HAVE A 2001 AND SHE HAS A 2002. I AM VERY CONCERNED OVER THIS AS WE BOTH USE THESE CARS TO TAKE OUR DAUGHTER PLACES. I WORRY ABOUT THEIR SAFETY. I RECENTLY CHANGED THE FUEL FILTER ON HERS AND UNTIL THAT TIME DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE THAT THE FUEL TANK IS WHERE IT IS OR THAT IT IS MADE OF PLASTIC. IT'S APPARENT TO ME THAT THEY POSE A SERIOUS RISK, ESPECIALLY SINCE ONE OF THE BOLTS ON THE REAR SWAY BAR IS LESS THAN A QUARTER INCH FROM THE TANK AND COULD VERY EASILY PUNCTURE IT IN EVEN A MINOR REAR END CRASH. THIS IS SOMETHING YOU CANNOT IGNORE. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A REASON THEY MOVED THE TANK AFTER 2004. YOU HAVE MILLIONS OF TICKING TIME BOMBS DRIVING AROUND. THIS COULD POSE DANGER TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE THAT REAR ENDS A JEEP AND TO ANY BY STANDARDS THAT TRY TO ASSIST IN AN ACCIDENT SITUATION. WITH THE WAY THE SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT IS DESIGNED, THERE ARE A FEW HOLES THAT ARE COVERED WITH SEALANT THAT COULD ACT AS A PASSAGE WAY FOR THE FLAMES, THE SEALANT IN BOTH OF OUR CARS IS OLD AND BRITTLE SO IT WOULD OFFER VERY LITTLE RESISTANCE TO ANYTHING. *TR

ALL 4 WINDOWS HAVE FELL OUT WITH A BANG, MULTIPLE SENSORS HAVE GONE OUT, RELAY SENSOR, ALL SHOCKS THAT HOLD UP HOOD AND LIFT GATES HAVE FAILED. RADIATOR SPRUNG A LEAK ON MONDAY AND PARKING BRAKE FAILED/BROKE/TOOK IT IN FOR THE AIRBAG CHECK ON MAY 16 TWO MONTHS AGO AND ITS IS ONE OF THE BAD ONES ..WAS TOLD PARTS WERE ORDERED. NOW THE LIGHT IS ON AND WONT GO OFF..WAS TOLD I HAVE NO AIRBAG AT ALL THAT WILL DEPLOY... VERY UNSAFE AND UNFAIR. NOW ITS INSPECTION TIME WITH THIS MESS AND NO FIX FROM JEEP. FOLLOWING REPAIRS, THE CONTACT LOCATED A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V199000- ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING: COOLING SYSTEM: FAN) HOWEVER, THE CONTACTS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

THE CULPRIT: A WHITE PLASTIC HALF WHEEL THAT THE CABLE GOES AROUND THAT OPERATES THE WINDOW. JEEP CHARGES $500 PLUS TO REPAIR EACH TIME! OPERATING THE VEHICLE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WINDOW. IT CAN BE STATIONARY AND WHEN YOU GO TO OPERATE THE WINDOW, IT STOPS FUNCTIONING. PLEASE NOTE: I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW, I DON'T HAVE CHILDREN, AND THERE ARE ONLY 111,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE.
