I STARTED MY CAR AND PUT IT IN R CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED BACKWARDS I PUT MY FEET ON THE BRAKE AND CAR CONTINUED BACK I COULD NOT SHUT ENGINE OFF AND ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL WHEN CAR SURGED FORWARD. CHRYSLER HAS SENT A RECALL NOTICE FOR AIR BAGS TO BE FIXED .WHEN WE LEFT THE DEALER SHIP OUR AIRBAG LIGHT WAS STILL ON!!!!! WE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE, NOTIFICATION CODE M35 / NHTSA 12V-527 REGARDING THE ORC MODULE IN MY 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THE DEALER INSTALLED THE ORC MODULE FILTER CIRCUIT AS THE RECALL INSTRUCTED; HOWEVER, THE ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED AND NOW MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT AND SEATBELT INDICATOR LIGHT ARE ILLUMINATED ON THE FRONT DASH CONSOLE. THE ISSUE IS NOT RESOLVED AND THE DEALER CLAIMS THAT THE ORC MODULE FILTER WAS NOT INTENDED TO FIX ANY ISSUES WITH THE AIRBAG AND SRS?DEALER WANTED TO CHARGE ME A DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND A REPAIR FEE. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A BAD CONNECTION. THE FAILURE WAS RESOLVED AGAIN, BUT RECURRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT ANOTHER AIR BAG SENSOR WAS FAULTY, BUT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 239,000.
I OWN A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. I RECEIVED A MANUFACTURER RECALL NOTICE CLOSE TO ONE YEAR AGO. I HAVE CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER-JEEP-DODGE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. EACH TIME I ATTEMPT TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, I GET THE SAME RESPONSE. I'M SIMPLY TOLD, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK NEEDED TO FIX THE DEFECT. ALONG WITH, THEY HAVEN'T A CLUE AS TO WHEN THE PARTS WILL COME IN. ACCORDING TO SEVERAL NOTICES I HAVE RECEIVED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR REGARDING THE SAFETY RECALL OF MY VEHICLE, THIS DEFECT COULD CAUSE MYSELF TO CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. KNOWING EACH DAY I DRIVE MY VEHICLE, I AM PUTTING MY LIFE AT RISK, IS VERY UNSETTLING. I AM JUST CONFUSED AS TO WHY THE NATIONAL TRAFFIC AND MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY ACT CONTINUES TO SEND MULTIPLE SAFETY RECALL NOTICES FOR MY VEHICLE. STARTED VEHICLE, AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BECAME INOPERATIVE. TURNED OFF THE INGNITION AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DID NOT OPERATE. TURNED OFF ENGINE. TRIED TO START THE ENGINE THE NEXT DAY AND THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DRAINED. CHARGED THE BATTERY AND STARTED THE ENGINE. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS STILL INOPERATIVE. *TR

2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYED ON AFTER STARTING CAR. FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL VIA CHRYSLER NUMBER M35 TO ADDRESS AIRBAGS THAT MAY INADVERTENTLY DEPLOY DUE TO ELECTRICAL SPIKES TO THE ORC MODULE CAUSING IT TO SHORT. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER AND AFTER THE WORK AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS STILL ON. DIAGNOSIS WAS "ORC MODULE INTERNALLY SHORTED AND NEEDS REPLACED" AND THE ESTIMATE IS OVER $500. CHRYSLER SAYS THAT THIS IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. *JS
DEATH WOBBLE UNABLE TO STEER CONTROL AUTO AT 30MPH AND ABOVE UNABLE TO REPAIR YET W/OVER $1000. SPENT ON ISSUE FRONT END TOO SENSITIVE UNABLE TO DRIVE. *TR
I HAVE CONTACTED JEEP AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NOT CORRECT OR AUTHORIZE REPAIR FOR THIS, EVEN WHEN I HAD THE F25 SAFETY RECALL NOTICE. THEY REPAIRED THIS PROBLEM A FEW YEARS BACK, BUT THEIR 'FIX' WAS TO INSTALL THE SAME TYPE OF FAN AS WAS PREVIOUSLY RECALLED. IT FAILED AGAIN RECENTLY WHILE I WAS IN A PARKING LOT - THIS TIME, WHEN IT BROKE, IT SLUNG THE BROKEN BLADE INTO THE COWLING AND LEFT A HUGE HOLE IN THIS COVER PIECE. IT WAS A RECALL, FOR HEAVENS' SAKES - IT DOES NOT SEEM THAT I SHOULD BEAR THE COST OF REPAIRING THIS, SINCE IT IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM IN THE DESIGN OF THE 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. ONE INCH TO THE LEFT WHILE LOOKING AT THE FAN, AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN PROPELLED INTO MY HEAD WITH SERIOUS INJURIES. *TR

THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN FIND TO LODGE THIS PARTICULAR COMPLAINT. I AM TAKING MY JEEP IN ON 7/28/14 FOR A SAFETY RECALL M35/NHTSA 12V-527. I WAS TOLD THAT I WILL HAVE TO RENT A CAR BECAUSE THEIR LOT RENTALS ARE NOT USED FOR RECALL FIXES. I WOULD LIKE TO COMPLAIN VIGOROUSLY! RECEIVED LETTER FROM FCA IN FEBRUARY 2015 ADVISING OF NEED FOR R06/15V-046; NOW AS OF AUGUST 4/2015 THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS STILL ON. I PHONED THE LOCAL DEALER WHO STATED PARTS WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE! AIR BAG LIGHT AND SIGNAL GOES ON EVERY THIRTY SECONDS. CONCERNED THAT EITHER THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY WITHOUT IMPACT OR MAY NOT DEPLOY WHEN REQUIRED. I BROUGHT INTO DEALER ND THEY INDICATED A PRT CLOCK SPRING ' NEEDED REPLACEMENT TO MAKE SURE AIR BAG WAS FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE NOTICED ON SOME OTHER CHRYSLER PRODUCTS. AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. DEALER STATED OPEN RECALL FOR AIR BAG MODULE AND FRONT SENSORS. NO PARTS AVAILABLE. WE CARE DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE WITH NO SUPPORT FROM DEALER. WE NEED A SAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE. DEALER ALSO DENIED RECALL FOR FAULTY FUEL TANK IN EVENT OF REAR COLLISION. WE HAVE A CHECK ENGINE CODE DIRECTLY RELATED TO FUEL VENTING/PURGE SYSTEM. DEALER WILL NOT REPAIR. IN SUMMARY WE HAVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE THAT HAS 2 POTENTIAL WAYS OF CAUSING BODILY HARM.

DRIVER'S SEAT DETACHES FROM CAR FRAME. ELECTRICAL BLOWER MODULE RESISTOR OVERHEATS, MELTS, AND BURNS. BOTH ISSUES ARE KNOWN BY CONSUMERS AND DEALERSHIPS, SO THERE IS NO WAY JEEP/CHRYSLER DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT THE DESIGN FLAWS AND THE DANGER. DRIVER'S SEAT: THERE IS A GREAT DEAL OF CHATTER ON THE INTERNET REGARDING THE DRIVER'S SEAT DETACHMENT FROM THE CAR FRAME AND THE REASON FOR IT. PEOPLE HAVE CREATED VARIOUS FIXES THAT MAY OR MAY NOT WORK WELL. AS ADDED PROOF, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE DRIVER'S SEAT IN ANY JUNK YARD. PLEASE GO LOOK FOR YOURSELF. MINE TOTALLY BROKE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, NEARLY CAUSING A WRECK. IT'S TERRIBLE AND I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL AND SOMEONE HELD CRIMINALLY LIABLE FOR THIS. BLOWER MOTOR MODULE: LOTS OF CHATTER ON THE INTERNET AS WELL AS TO THE PROBLEM AND THE CAUSE. MINE MELTED AND BECAME SO HOT THAT I COULDN'T TOUCH IT WITHOUT BURNING MY HAND - WHICH I DID. THERE IS A FIX, BUT YOU HAVE TO BUY AN UPGRADE MODULE WHICH STILL GETS HOT. ALSO, THE MODULE TURNS THE BLOWER IN REVERSE, SO YOU HAVE TO REVERSE THE LEADS. IT'S DANGEROUS AND AGAIN, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL ON IT EITHER AND SOMEONE HELD CRIMINALLY LIABLE.
THE STEERING STARTED TO MAKE A GRINDING NOISE AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. TOOK RIGHT AWAY TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD A PART IN THE STEERING CAME APART AND MESSED UP THE STEERING AND POWER PUMP. WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. STILL IN GARAGE AND WILL COST 1340$ TO FIX. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND I AM GLAD I WAS ONLY DOING 35 AT THE TIME. HOW MANY OTHERS HAS THIS HAPPENED TO. MY DAUGHTERS JEEP JUST FAILED STATE INSPECTION DUE TO SEVERE CRACKING OF THE TIRE NEXT TO THE RIM. ALL 4 TIRES ARE GOODYEAR WRANGLER ST 225/75/16 104S. THE TREAD DEPTH IS STILL VERY GOOD HOWEVER THEY WILL NOT PASS STATE INSPECTION DUE TO THE LARGE CRACKS TOTALLY AROUND THE RIMS.
