I GOT IN TO DRIVE MY '02 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, AND BEFORE TURNING IGNITION IT WAS LIGHTLY BUMPED AND IT WILL GO INTO ANY POSITION. ALSO,WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD, THE SHIFT SELECTOR (THAT CHANGES FROM N D R 1 2) WAS LIGHTLY BUMPED BY ACCIDENT, AND IT MOVED INTO N. THIS IS THE SAFETY HAZARD. IF A JEEP WAS SITTING ON AN INCLINE, AND SHIFT SELECTOR WAS BUMPED, OR SOMETHING. IT COULD ROLL DOWNGRADE AND COULD CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE OR ANOTHER PERSON. I COULD NOT FIND A RECALL ON THIS. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK INJURIES, AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. I WORK AT A DEALERSHIP WASHING CARS. WE JUST SOLD A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. I WAS RUNNING THE JEEP THROUGH THE CARWASH. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE, AND SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED PROPELLING ME INTO A WALL, AND THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I WAS INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT AND WENT TO AN URGENT CARE. *TR

THE CONTACT HAD TO UTILIZE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WITH FORCE BEFORE THERE WAS ANY RESPONSE FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,632.

NEITHER CHRYSLER NOR A "LOCAL" DEALER WILL SUPPLY THE PART NEEDED FOR ME TO INSTALL THE FIX. I'M A QUALIFIED MECHANIC AND HAVE ALL THE NEEDED FACTORY TOOLS INCLUDING THE DRBIII AND ACCESS TO TECH CONNECT. READING THROUGH THE CHRYSLER DOCUMENT DATED NOVEMBER 7TH 2012, I FULLY UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE (MATERIAL CHANGE IN THE SQUIB CAPACITOR) AND THE PATCH CHRYSLER IS OFFERING. THE PROPER FIX WOULD BE REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE CAPACITOR. I AM ASKING FOR THE PART SO THAT I CAN DO THE FIX - NOTHING MORE. *TR
I RECEIVED A JEEP AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE THIS WEEK AND WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEED AN AIRBAG NOW. I HAVE HAD TO WAIT OVER A YEAR FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS TRIED TO FIX MY CAR FOUR TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE ATTEMPTING TO USE THE WRONG CONNECTORS TO FIX THE ISSUE (THEY TOLD ME THIS ON THE LAST REPAIR ATTEMPT). NOW THEY CLAIM THAT I MUST PAY FOR AN AIRBAG. I BELIEVE THAT THEIR DEFECTIVE REPAIR ATTEMPTS OR HAVING TO WAIT SO LONG FOR PARTS IS THE REASON THAT THE AIRBAG NOW NEEDS REPLACED. CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE IS DENYING MY REQUEST TO FIX MY AIRBAG. CAN YOU PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE? SERVICE MANAGER HAD A LITTLE MORE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE RECALL, I THOUGHT UNTIL HE TOLD ME IT WOULD BE TWO MONTHS UNTIL THEY COULD SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. REASON CITED WAS THE CHRYSLER WERE NOT PROVIDING THE PARTS, ALSO NOT TRUE. HE TOLD ME HE WOULD CALL BACK WITH AN APPOINTMENT DATE, THAT WAS SEVERAL HOURS AGO. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER AND THEY WERE GREAT. HELP ME SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. WHEN HE ARRIVED TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE, HE WAS INFORMED, THE RECALL DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM . HE WAS INFORMED THE AIR BAG WOULD NOT PROPERLY DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION, IF THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON. AFTER FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OF THE PROBLEM, THE DEALER INFORMED HIM THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. OVER 3 YRS AGO I RECEIVED FROM CHRYSLER A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE AND EVERY TIME I CALL THE JEEP DEALER THEY TELL ME THAT THE PARTS HAVEN'T BEEN MADE YET. TODAY I RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE FOR THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE AND STILL NO PARTS. THIS IS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AND YOU SHOULD HAVE THE PARTS AFTER ALL THIS TIME. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND I WANT THIS FIXED. *TR

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT A SLOW RATE OF SPEED (5 MPH) DUE TO A TRAFFIC JAM, MY VEHICLE OVERHEATED. ONCE TOWED OFF THE HIGHWAY, THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED A FAN FAILURE FOR THE RADIATOR WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO OVERHEAT. SUBSEQUENTLY THERE MAY BE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAUSED BY THE FAN FAILURE. I RESEARCHED THIS AND DISCOVERED A RECALL ISSUED (8/2006) BY DAIMLER CHRYSLER FOR THE ELECTRIC RADIATOR FAN (SAFETY RECALL F25). I CALLED CHRYSLER TODAY (CASE #[XXX]) AND THEY SAID THAT THIS RECALL DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THE RECALL CLEARLY STATES IT APPLIES TO VEHICLES WITH THE "S" IN THE 8TH POSITION WHICH IT IS. I OWN A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND. RECENTLY, I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY DRIVERS SIDE HEATED SEAT. YESTERDAY, IT GOT EXTREMELY HOT SO I SHUT IF OFF FOR FEAR OF A FIRE OR BEING BURNT, AND TODAY IT IS NOT WORKING AT ALL. BECAUSE OF THIS, I AM ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGER HEATED SEAT. I FOUND OUT FROM A DEALER THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE, BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT COVERED. I CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE TO DISCUSS THIS, AND THEY SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO HELP. I FEEL THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND MY VEHICLE IS DISPLAYING THE EXACT SYMPTOMS COVERED IN THIS RECALL, YET FOR SOME UNEXPLAINABLE VEHICLE IT HAS BEEN EXCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE SEATBELT SENSOR, RIGHT FRONT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED IN ADDITION TO THE ORC MODULE REPAIR PERTAINING TO THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND THE SENSOR LIGHT HAD CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE AT RANDOM FOR THE AIRBAG. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83082.
THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WHILE IT WAS BEING DRIVEN DOWN THE ROAD, IT WAS PULLED OVER TO SIDE OF THE ROAD IN A DRIVEWAY. FIRE CAME FROM UNDER THE DASH ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE, AND THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY CONSUMED BY FIRE IN APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES. THE ALERT FOR THE TURN SIGNAL STAYS ON WHEN I TURN MY HEADLIGHTS ON. THE TAIL LIGHTS DON'T WORK PROPERLY, AND THE REVERSE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK AT ALL. I HAVE SEEN THIS ON THE SAME MODEL JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO'S ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT.

WE WERE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE HEATED SEATS ON AND THEY BECAME EXTREMELY HOT. I TURNED THEM OFF AND STOPPED TO LET THE SEATS COOL. WHEN I WENT TO MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VIN # WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH I WAS EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I LOOKED ON THE WEB SITE "ARFC.ORG" AND DISCOVERED THERE ARE A LARGE NUMBER OF JEEP CHEROKEE OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. MANY OF THEM HAD FIRES AND/OR BURNS, YET THEY ARE NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. JEEP CLEARLY HAS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR HEATED SEATS THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. THE RECALL APPEARS TO BE ONLY FOR SOME REPAIR PARTS FROM A PREVIOUS RECALL. IF CHRYSLER HAD TO HAVE A RECALL AND INSTALL REPAIRS FOR THEIR HEATED SEATS IT IS OBVIOUS THEIR HEATING ELEMENTS ARE PROBLEMATIC AND THEY SHOULD EXTENT THE RECALL TO COVER ALL JEEP HEATED SEAT PROBLEMS. *TR

IN DECEMBER OF 2012, WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER REGARDING THE OCCUPANT RESTRAIN CONTROL (ORC) OF THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. THE AIRBAGS DEPLOY INADVERTENTLY WHEN OVER STRESSED. WE ARE FORTUNATE THAT THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED TO US ...YET! ON DECEMBER 16,2013, ONE YEAR LATER, I CALLED BOTH PAMBY'S CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP (WHERE WE TAKE OUR CAR FOR SERVICE) AND THE CORPORATE OFFICES FOR CHRYSLER TO REPORT THAT OUR AIRBAG LIGHT IS NOW ON PERMANENTLY. WE WERE AND ARE CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAG MIGHT DEPLOY WHILE WE ARE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. BOTH PAMBY'S AND CHRYSLER HAVE STATED THAT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PART-ONE YEAR LATER!
