I WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT WITH THE ENGINE IDLING AND THE JEEP IN PARK, WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED UP AND MY JEEP SURGED FORWARD, STRIKING THE CAR PARKED DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. I PRESSED HARD ON THE BRAKE AND THE JEEP SURGED FORWARD AGAIN BEFORE THE ENGINE DIED AND THE JEEP STOPPED. THE E-BRAKE WAS STILL ENGAGED, BUT THE GEAR, WHICH HAD BEEN IN PARK, WAS NOW IN DRIVE. AT NO TIME DID I COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE GEAR SHIFTER. *TR

THIS VEHICLE HAS QUIT RUNNING SEVERAL TIMES SINCE WE HAVE OWNED IT WHILE DRIVINGTHE ENGINE WILL JUST QUIT. WE CAN MOVE THE SHIFT LEVER IN NEUTRAL AND IT WILL START BACK UP, BUT THIS IS STILL DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY WHEN MY WIFE IS DRIVING. ALL 4 INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE CRACKING AND BREAKING AT THE BASE OF THE HANDLE. I CAN BARELY GET OUT OF MY JEEP OPENING FROM THE INSIDE, AND I HAVE TO GET OUT TO LET MY SON OUT AT SCHOOL. MY CHILDREN MUST WAIT FOR ME TO OPEN THEIR DOORS, AND IF I WERE TO GET INTO A COLLISION AND MY CAR ON FIRE, I WOULD IN NO WAY HAVE TIME TO ROLL MY WINDOW DOWN, GET OUT, THEN LET MY KIDS OUT BEFORE AN EXPLOSION OF GASOLINE AND OTHER FLUIDS ENGULFED MY VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR, OR THE DRIVER HANDLE WOULD BE THE WORST, FOR IT IS MOST USED. WHEN FOLLOW UP CALLS ARE MADE TO THE DEALER (CERRITOS DODGE/JEEP DEALER IN CERRITOS, CA) ARE MADE, AM INFORMED THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER, SINCE 2014???. ON THE OTHER HAND, I AM CONSTANTLY RECEIVING MESSAGE ON MY CELL, FROM THEIR SALES DEPARTMENT FOR REQUEST THAT I CONTACT THEM FOR INFORMATION REGARDING A NEW VEHICLE, WITH A TRADE IN AND GREAT FINANCING. MEANWHILE I AM DRIVING A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS VEHICLE AND HAVE BEEN FOR QUITE AWHILE. I HAVE NO CHOICE. I HAVE ALREADY NOTICED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS LIT ON MY DASH, AS WELL AS MY AIRBAG LIGHT AS WELL INDICATING THAT I ALREADY HAVE ISSUES OCCURRING THAT ARE ACCORDING TO THE RECALL NOTICE IS LINKED TO THIS PROBLEM. JEEP N23 RECALL TO FIX INADVERTENT SHIFTING OF TRANSFER CASE INTO NEUTRAL LOCKS UP CONTROL MODULE. VEHICLE TRANSFER CASE WILL NOT SHIFT ANYMORE. CHRYSLER DENIES THE EFFECT, ALTHOUGH THOUSANDS OF JGC ARE NOW CRIPPLED. THEY RECENTLY (7/29/14) RELEASED A SOFTWARE UPDATE (HTTP://WWW.WKJEEPS.COM/TSB/TSB_WK_2102214A.PDF) TO THE FDCM, THE SAME MODULE THE N23 RECALL FLASHED. HOWEVER, THEY ARE CHARGING CUSTOMERS TO UPDATE AFTER THE FIRST FLASH FOR N23 LOCKED TRANSFER CASE IN POSITION. THEY ARE TRYING TO CONTINUE TO FIX THE N23 PROBLEM BUT WITHOUT COST. *TR

MY 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER ON CA HWY 17 DURING RUSH HOUR. IT WAS AS IF THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS TURNED OFF. THIS NEARLY CAUSED A MULTI-CAR COLLISION, FOLLOWED BY A TERRIFYING NEAR MISS BY A MOTORCYCLE. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, WHERE THE IGNITION SWITCH ACTED COMPLETELY DEAD, THE CAR SUDDENLY RE-STARTED. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS A RECALL RELATED TO THE IGNITION SWITCH, BUT THE DOCUMENTATION I'VE SEEN IMPLIES THAT DRIVERS ARE HITTING THE KEYS WITH THEIR KNEES. I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT I WAS ON A STRAIGHT STRETCH OF (VERY BUSY) HIGHWAY, AND THERE WAS NO CONTACT BETWEEN ME AND THE KEYS. IN ADDITION, THERE WERE A TOTAL OF FOUR KEYS ON THE KEY CHAIN, WITH NO OTHER SIGNIFICANT WEIGHT. I'LL BE HAPPY TO WEIGH THE ENTIRE KEYCHAIN AND SEND A PHOTO OF THE DIGITAL SCALE RESULTS, BUT THIS WAS NOT A CASE OF HAVING A LARGE MASS ON THE KEYCHAIN. THE JEEP ALMOST KILLED ME. THE JEEP DEALER HAD THE VEHICLE FOR THREE DAYS, AND CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM, AND INFORMED ME THAT PARTS TO REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH ARE NOT AVAILABLE, AND THERE IS NO ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE FOR THE PARTS. THEY ALSO RECOMMENDED NOT DRIVING THE VEHICLE. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE RECALL IS MISREPRESENTED BY CHRYSLER, AND IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN THE RECALL IMPLIES. OF COURSE, I'M ALSO CONCERNED THAT I HAVE A 4500 LB BRICK IN MY DRIVEWAY UNTIL THIS CAN BE RESOLVED, AND MUST RENT OR LEASE ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE (INDETERMINATE) INTERIM.
