TAKATA RECALL I JUST PURCHASED MY JEEP BACK IN JUNE AND CAN VIEW THE SERVICE HISTORY. THIS COMPLAINT IN PARTICULAR HAS TO DO WITH EXTENDED CRANK. MY JEEP TAKES AWHILE TO START. I SEE THAT THERE WAS A FUEL PUMP RELAY RECALL. I SEE IN MY SERVICE HISTORY THAT MY JEEP HAD THIS PART REPLACED: 02/02/2015 78,423 MI AT JT'S CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE FIAT. AGAIN, ACCORDING TO THE SYMPTOM/CONDITIONS, I AM STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE, AND WOULD LIKE THIS FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF SAFETY CONCERNS. I AM EXPERIENCING OR HAVE A SYMPTOM/CONDITION OF A CLUNK AND/OR BUMP FELT THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL UNDER MODERATE BRAKING OR DRIVING OVER ROUGH ROADS (19-003-14) PART TO FIX KNOWN ISSUE IS (AR) 05057539AD SHAFT, STEERING COLUMN INTERMEDIATE. I WOULD LIKE THIS FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF SAFETY CONCERNS. I AM EXPERIENCING A SYMPTOM/CONDITION OF A POWERTRAIN ISSUE. WHEN ACCELERATING, I FEEL THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND THE ENGINE MAKES VERY NOISY AND ABRUPT VIBRATIONS. ALL LUBRICANT IS NEW. I WOULD LIKE THIS FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF SAFETY CONCERNS. MY WINDOW WASHING FEATURE DOES NOT SPEW FLUID ONTO FRONT WINDOWS, HOWEVER, WILL SPEW LIQUID ON REAR WINDOW. I WOULD LIKE THIS FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF SAFETY CONCERNS.
JEEP ENGINE STALLED OUT WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH DOWN THE INTERSTATE.
AT TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR CITY STREET, WHILE IN CRUSE, BRAKE APPLY AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT ANY VEHICLE BRAKING IN FRONT OF ME. ALSO AT TIMES WHILE IN MOTION, CRUSE SYSTEM DO NOT TAKE FOR WEEKS, THEN WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION, I WOULD SET IT AND IT WORKS AS IT SHOULD.
THE VEHICLES STOPPING POWER IS REDUCED AT TIMES. SOMETIMES THE BRAKES WORK FINE, BUT SOMETIMES I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND IT WILL NOT STOP ALL THE WAY. THE STOPPING POWER IS GREATLY REDUCED AT TIMES AND I THINK THERE IS SOMETHING CAUSING THE PROBLEM WITH BRAKING BY WHAT THE MANUFACTURER HAS DONE AS MY BRAKE PADS ARE FINE AND HAVE PLENTY OF LIFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CHECK TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (STATELINE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 800 GOLD HILL RD, FORT MILL, SC 29708) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER CONDENSER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I NOTICED THE LEATHER DASH BUBBLING A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. SINCE THEN IT'S GOTTEN MUCH WORSE. AFTER RESEARCHING, IT IS THE RESULT OF AN INCOMPLETE PROCESS IN THE MANUFACTURING FROM A VENDOR. THE DASH HAS BUBBLED SO BAD THAT THE DEFROST VENTS ASR DISTORTED AND NO LONGER ARE EFFECTIVE. ALSO, IT APPARS IT COULD DIRECTLY CAUSE AN INEFFECTIVE DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. BOTH ARE MAJOR SAFETY HAZARDS. AFTER TALKING WITH BOTH FCA AND A LOCAL DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT FCA HAS KNOWN ABOUT FOR YEARS WITH MANY COMPLAINTS BUT REFUSES TO CORRECT THE DEFECT.
HELLO NHTSA TEAM, I AM WRITING TO YOU TO ASK THAT ADDITIONAL VIN NUMBERS BE INCLUDED IN AN EXISTING RECALL. THE EXISTING RECALL IS P60 / NHTSA 14V-634 FOR ALTERNATOR FAILURE. OUR FAMILY HAS TWO 2011 GRAND JEEP CHEROKEES AND THE ALTERNATORS HAVE FAILED IN BOTH OF THESE VEHICLES PREMATURELY. CAN YOU PLEASE INCLUDE VIN [XXX] INTO THE RECALL. THE ALTERNATOR IN BOTH OF OUR 2011 GRAND JEEP CHEROKEES, THE 160 AMP UNIT WILL SUDDENLY BEGIN MAKING A VERY LOUD WHINING SOUND THAT CAN BE HEARD LOUDLY FROM WITHIN THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE AND WITHIN THE ENGINE BAY. WHEN THE FAILURE ON THE ALTERNATOR OCCURS IT IS VERY SUDDEN, ONE DAY IT IS WORKING PROPERLY THE VERY NEXT DAY IT IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WE HAVE INVESTED A LOT OF TIME IN DISCUSSION ALREADY WITH THE FCA DEPARTMENT AT CHRYSLER. FCA AT CHRYSLER IS INDICATING TO US THAT OUR VEHICLES HAVE ALL OF THE MATCHING "SPECIFICATIONS" TO MEET THE CRITERIA WITHIN THE EXISTING RECALL BUT OUR VIN NUMBERS ARE NOT INCLUDED, THEREFORE THEY CANNOT COVER THE REPAIR. THE FCA CONTINUALLY TELLS US THAT THEY ARE NOT SURE WHY OUR VEHICLES ARE NOT INCLUDED AS ALL OF THE SPECIFICATIONS ON THEIR END APPEAR TO BE IDENTICAL TO THE SPECIFICATIONS OUTLINED IN THE RECALL FOR THE FAILED ALTERNATOR. THE ISSUE WHEN IT OCCURS IS VERY RAPID, WE DRIVE THE VEHICLE ONE DAY, NO ISSUE, AND THEN THE VERY NEXT DAY WHEN WE START THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY THERE IS THE TELL-TAIL LOUD WHINING SOUND STEMMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR AND THE NOISE INCREASES IN DECIBELS AS THE RPM INCREASE. THE CAR RANDOMLY WON'T START. IT HAS FULL POWER BUT DOES NOT CRANK. MANY OWNERS WITH VARIOUS YEARS OF JEEPS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND THE DEALER OFTEN CAN'T IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM PARTLY BECAUSE THE CAR STARTS AFTER IT HAS BEEN TOWED. MANY OWNERS END UP SPENDING $1000'S ON REPAIRS AND TOWS ONLY TO HAVE IT CONTINUE. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN OR WHERE IT WILL HAPPEN. I JUST HAD MINE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR THE FOURTH TIME AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I WILL NEED TO START REPLACING PARTS IF THE CAR DOESN'T PRODUCE A DIAGNOSTIC CODE.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, OUR 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND 5.7L ENGINE STALLS WHILE BRAKING AND TRYING TO TURN CORNERS. RECALL P54 TO REPLACE FUEL PUMP RELAY TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE WAS DONE IN NOVEMBER 2015, BUT THE ISSUE HAS CONTINUED. MOST RECENTLY OCCURRED SEPT 8TH, 11TH AND NOW TODAY THE 14TH. HAD VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS ON SEPT 13TH AND JEEP TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO FIND THE PROBLEM. WHEN THIS STALLING OCCURS, THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS AND APPARENTLY NO FAULT CODES GENERATED. WHEN MOTOR STALLS, WE LOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES AND HAVE ENDED UP ON THE WRONG SIDE OF ROAD TRYING TO GET STOPPED. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN DECELERATING AND BRAKING TO TURN OFF OR ONTO A HIGHWAY.
BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON WHILE TRAVELING ON I-10 IN EL PASO TX. EXITED ON SUNLAND PARK DR WHERE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE IN MOTION.
ON SEPTEMBER 7TH 2017 WHILE DRIVING BACK FROM JFK AIRPORT MY CAR LOST BRAKING POWER, WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKES THE BRAKES TOUCHED THE FLOOR BUT THE CAR WOULD STILL KEEP MOVING. IT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HIT MULTIPLE CARS THANKS TO GOD I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE AND WENT OVER A CURB AND GRASS AND INTO A SERVICE PLAZA ON BELT PARKWAY. THIS WAS VERY FRIGHTENING, WE COULD HAVE REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF US GOING 55-60 MPH. WE GOT SO SACRED WE WERE ALL SHAKING, WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR KILLED SOMEONE ELSE. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUES. WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES NOW THE CAR SLOWS DOWN BUT DOES NOT COME TO A STOP IF YOU ARE MOVING FAST. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON BRAKE BOOSTER WHICH CAUSED SIMILAR ISSUE BUT ACCORDING TO THEM MY CARS VIN NUMBER IS NOT UNDER THIS RECALL. THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 63000 MILES ON IT AND THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE. I HOPE THIS WILL HELP SOMEONE FROM GETTING SERIOUSLY INJURED. *TR
THE COMBINATION AC CONDENSOR/TRANSMITTION OIL COOLER IS LEAKING TRANSMITTION FLUID. IT WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I STARTED NOTICING OIL ON THE SKID PLATE UNDER THE FRONT END.

I PURCHASE A BRAND NEW 2012 JEEP GC OVERLAND. SINCE THEN I HAVE REPLACED THE AIR COMPRESSOR AND MODULATOR 3 TIMES. THE FIRST TIME WAS WITHIN THE FIRST 24 MONTHS, THEN AGAIN A BIT OVER 48 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP AND THIS LAST TIME WITHIN THE PAST MONTH. VEHICLE HAVE 80K MILES ON IT. EVERY TIME THE SUSPENSION FAILS, THE VEHICLE LOCK THE SUSPENSION AT A WEIRD ANGLE, PRODUCING A VERY BOUNCY RIDE AND EXTREMELY UNSAFE/UNSTABLE AT SPEEDS HIGHER THAN 50 MPH.
STALL ON STARTUP
FCW (FORWARD COLLISION WARNING) LIGHT WENT ON AND THE ENGINE KILLED, WHILE IN FULL MOTION, CAUSING TOTAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE STATIONARY AT A STOP LIGHT AND IN MOTION.
WHILE IN MOTION AND STATIONARY THE VEHICLE WITH HAVE POWER SURGES THROUGH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. WHILE STATIONARY THE TAILGATE WILL OPEN ON ITS OWN AND THE HORN WILL RANDOMLY START BLOWING. WHILE IN MOTION AND STATIONARY THE VEHICLE WILL BLOW HEADLAMPS AND TAIL LAMPS. THE WIRES IN THE HEAD AND TAIL LAMPS HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE AND HAVE MELTED THE WIRES. YESTERDAY THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE TAIL LAMP CAUGHT ON FIRE AND BURNED THE CASING AND WIRES. THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY STALL AND SOMETIMES WON'T START.
I PURCHASED MY 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND LAST YEAR FROM A TOYOTA DEALER. ONLY BECAUSE NO OTHER DEALERS HAD ONE WITH SADDLE INTERIOR. SO FAR THE RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT CRACKED LEAKING FLUID AND RECENTLY THE PUSH BUTTON STARTER WENT.IS THERE A RECALL ON THE PUSH BUTTON STARTER MALFUNCTIONING?
MY 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS REPEATEDLY INCURRED SEVERE PROBLEMS WITH THE TIPM (MODULE) WHICH CONTROLS THE CAR'S QUAD AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM. THIS CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED BY SKINNER AND DAMULIS, RICHFIELD SPRINGS, N.Y. (AT LEAST) SIX TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, AT GREAT EXPENSE - WITH NO APPARENT RESOLUTION BUT TO INCUR REPAIRS COSTS IN EXCESS OF $10,000. THE 8/6/17 INCIDENT TOO, DEALT WITH THE DEFECTIVE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM WHICH, THIS TIME, CAUSED THE REAR WHEEL TO FALL OFF WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN. MY WIFE AND I INCURRED INJURIES, HOWEVER, THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THIS ISSUE WAS NOT RELATED. JUST TWO DAYS AGO, THE CAR'S SUSPENSION SYSTEM LIGHTED UP ON THE DASHBOARD. PICTURES WERE TAKEN, I CALLED THE AUTO DEALER, HOWEVER, I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM THEM. IN REVIEWING FILED COMPLAINTS COUPLED WITH A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT, THIS IS ALL TO FAMILIAR, HOWEVER, CHRYSLER AND THEIR DEALERS' REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH THE FULL SUPPORT FROM CHRYSLER. NHTSA NEEDS TO RECALL THE 2011 CHRYSLER JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE - OUTLAND EDITION - ASAP! TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!
THESE PROBLEMS ARE RANDOM. FIRST ALRM HAS GONE OFF TWICE, THE DAY LIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS DON'T ALWAYS COME ON. THE CAR DOES NOT ALWAYS RECOGNIZE THE KEY. THE DOM ELIGHT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FLICKERS SOME TIMES. THIS MOURNING THE CLOCK ON THE RADIO SHOWED AN INVALID TIME, SWITHED RADIO OFF, AND BACK ON, IT WENT TO THE CORRECT TIME. TOOK TO MACHANIC DESIGNATED BY THE DEALER WE BOUGHT THIS FROM 2 WEEKS AGO AND HE FOUND NO ISSUES. THE MILAGE IS 92000. I WILL CHANGE THE BATTERY OUT THIS WEEK, AND SEE IF THAT CORRECTS THESE ISSUES. WE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES WITH OR 2005 LINCOLN LS WHEN IT HAD A WEAK BATTERY.
JEEP GC2011 ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING! CURRENT RECALL UNDER CHRYSLER #T36 AND NHTSA #17V435 ONLY COVERS YEAR 2012-2014. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO BE NOTIFIED TO INCLUDE YEAR 2011. ONGOING ISSUES OF STALING AND COMPLAINTS FOR 2011 HAS BEEN LOGGED SINCE 2012 AND IS A SERIOUS MECHANICAL ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE UNDER THE RECALL. IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCED STALING PLEASE DOCUMENT AND SEND THE COMPLAINT OR IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS DIED FROM THIS PLEASE FILE TO SAVE OTHERS!
I WAS IN A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAGS AND SRS SYSTEM DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER FRONT DOOR AND DRIVER FRONT FENDER. FORCE WAS GREAT ENOUGH TO PUSH ME INTO ANOTHER DIRECTION, UP A CURB AND INTO PROPERTY AND EVENTUALLY STOPPING AT A TREE. THE DRIVER DOOR WAS WAS UNABLE TO OPEN, AND FRONT END WAS CRUMPLED. NOT A SINGLE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THERE ARE AIR BAGS IN THE FRONT SEATS, ABOVE THE SIDE WINDOWS, KNEE BOLSTERS AND STEERING AND DASH. *TT UPDATED 10/1/18*JB
THE AHR DEPLOYED EVEN THOUGH THE JEEP WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY COLLISION; NO REAR, SIDE, FRONT, ETC. IMPACT. THE HEAD REST ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE JUST DEPLOYED ON ITS OWN. WE HAVE WATCHED VIDEOS ON HOW TO RESET IT, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN 50-65 MPH THE VEHICLE SHUTTERS LIKE SOMETHING IS GOING IN AND OUT OF GEAR. THERE IS ALSO A LOUD CLUNK WHEN STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP, ABOUT THE TIME THE VEHICLE SHIFTS INTO 2ND GEAR, ABOUT 4 SECONDS AFTER TAKE OFF.
MY 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IS LEAKING FROM WHAT APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM THE TRANS COOLER PART JUST ABOVE THE A/C CONDENSER. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN EXTREMELY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2011-2013 MODELS.
I WAS DRIVING AND HEARD WHAT ALMOST SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND REALIZED MY SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED. THE SUNROOF HAD NO PRIOR CHIPS OR CRACKS. AS SEEN IN THE PHOTOS, THE GLASS HAD EXPLODED BY THE SIZE OF THE HOLE. THANKFULLY, I HAD THE CANVAS CLOSED, AT THE TIME AND GLASS DID NOT FALL IN. HOWEVER, I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHER JEEP OWNERS AND OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD.
BEING PARKET, WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED ON IT STARTS BUT AFTER 1.5 SECONDS IT GOES OUT. SOMETIMES IT DOES THIS 2, 3 AND UP TO 4 TIMES ON OCCASIONS, BEFORE STAYING ON AND BEING ABLE TO IT WALKING ...

THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V530000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GUNN CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 16550 I-35, SELMA, TX 78154 WHERE THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST AS THE RECALL REPAIR HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT NOTICED A BURNING ODOR COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD SEVERAL TIMES. ON ONE OCCASION, ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. A PRIVATE MECHANIC PERFORMED AN INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY WAS FINE. THE MECHANIC ALSO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR FAILED AND CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DRAIN, AND THE PLASTIC BURNING ODOR WAS ALSO CAUSED BY THE FAILED ALTERNATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
TIMP RECALL, WAS REPAIRED JAN 2015. TODAY VEHICLE STALLED IN TRAFFIC, COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AND LOST POWER STEERING, WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. I AM LUCKY I WAS NOT IN AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. I HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER, BUT SINCE IT WAS REPAIRED PREVIOUSLY, NOT SURE WHAT THEY WILL DO FOR ME. OBVIOUSLY THERE IS STILL A PROBLEM THE RECALL DID NOT REPAIR.

TRANSFER CASE MAIN SHAFT FAILED, CAUSING A TOTAL LOCK UP OF THE VEHICLE. IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALER AND TOOK 3 WEEKS TO REPAIR.
ON MAY 4, 2017, APPROXIMATELY AROUND 7:00PM, I TURNED RIGHT ONTO A FREEWAY AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AND BARELY WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I AM LUCK THAT I DID NOT HAVE A CAR BEHIND ME OR I WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. HOW SCARY!! CHRYSLER HAS CLAIMED THAT THEY HAVE FIXED THIS!!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INSTRUCTED THE DEALER NOT TO DO ANYTHING UNTIL THE MANUFACTURER'S ADJUSTOR INVESTIGATED THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT A CONSTANT SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE STALLED CAUSING THE BRAKES AND POWER STEERING TO BE DISABLED. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, 11/12/16, I WAS TAKING AN EXIT OFF OF THE FREEWAY. WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN FOR THE APPROACHING RED LIGHT, THE PEDAL WAS STIFF AND WOULD BOT SLOW THE VEHICLE. THANKFULLY, THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN SO I LET THE VEHICLE COAST. AS I WENT TO TURN RIGHT, I REALIZED THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING EITHER. AFTER CROSSING OVER 2 LANES I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE CAR TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THAT'S WHEN I REALIZED THE ENGINE HAD STALLED. BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, PAID $700 FOR SOMETHING, THEN DROVE IT BACK SINCE THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED. FIVE MONTHS LATER, 4/20/17, SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED. IT WAS 8:30AM AND I WAS BRINGING MY 18MO OLD TO DAYCARE WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT AHEAD AND REALIZE IT WAS STIFF AND NOT WORKING AGAIN. FORTUNATELY, AGAIN, THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME ACCELERATED. I FOUGHT WITH THE STEERING WHEEL TO TURN INTO A NEARBY GAS STATION AFTER THE LETTING VEHICLE COAST TO A SLOWER SPEED. AFTER BOTH INCIDENCES, I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, WAITED A FEW MINUTES, THEN TURNED IT BACK ON. IT HESITATED A FEW TIMES THEN CRANKED AND FUNCTIONED PROPERLY AFTERWARDS. FURTHERMORE, DURING BOTH INCIDENCES I WAS VERY SLIGHTLY TURNING TO THE RIGHT; THE FIRST TIME TO EXIT THE HWY AND THE SECOND TIME I WAS VEERING INTO THE RIGHT LANE. DURING THE FIRST INCIDENT, I WAS TRAVELLING ON THE FREEWAY AROUND 65MPH. DURING THE SECOND, I WAS TRAVELING AT ABOUT 50MPH.
WHILE IN MOTION PUT ON TURN SIGNAL AND STARTED TURN AND ENGINE STOPPED COLD. IT COULD BE STARTED AGAIN AFTER COMING TO A STOP. DURING FAILURE HAD NO POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES TWO WHILE TURNING RIGHT ONCE WHILE TURNING LEFT.
TAKATA RECALL . I HAVE A AIRBAG LIGHT THAT IS ON. IT JUST APPEARED WHEN I STARTED THE CAR AND STAYS ON. I BEEPED THE HORN THE OTHER DAY AND THE FOLLOWING MORNING THE AIRBAG LIGHT JUST APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD. NOW I AM SCARED THAT THE AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING.

THE DEALERSHIP CAME TO HER WORK AND ATTEMPTED TO JUMPSTART THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES BUT WERE NOT SUCCESSFUL. VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS AND FOUND THE BATTERY WAS BAD.
