NOTICED A HISSING SOUND COMING FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL AREA DURING THE RECENT COLD WEATHER. THEN THE BRAKES WOULD NOT STOP THE JGC WELL DURING HEAVY BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSION. MY MECHANIC DETERMINED IT WAS A BAD POWER BOOSTER AND SAID THEY WERE ON NATIONAL BACKORDER AT ALL THE LOCAL DEALERS. SEEMS MANY JEEP AND DURANGO OWNERS ARE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES. A DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT JEEP NEEDS TO ADDRESS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE MANUFACTURE FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE WAS AIR LEAKING BY THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND CAUSING THE MALFUNCTION OF THE BRAKES. AS A RESULT, THE ENTIRE BRAKE ASSEMBLY WOULD NEED TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000. THE CURRENT FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TR
THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT THE SPEED LIMIT, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE SPEED DROPS TO 38 MPH AND THE VEHICLE WILL GO NO FASTER. YOU CAN NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 38 MPH, UNLESS YOU PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. THEN WHEN YOU START THE VEHICLE BACK UP IT IS OK.
THE GRAND CHEROKEE WAS SITTING AT A RECONDITIONING STAGE AT MY DEALERSHIP WHILE WORKERS BEGAN TO SMELL SMOKE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. A SMALL FIRE HAD BEGUN AT THE FUSE BOX. IMMEDIATELY, THE WORKERS EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TERMINALS. SOME FUSES WERE MELTED AND THE CONNECTIONS UNDERNEATH THE FUSE BOX WERE MELTED. THE FUSE BOX IS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR AND IT MAY NEED NEW HARNESSES. I'M CURRENTLY WORKING WITH CHRYSLER TO INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE AND THE NEXT STEP TO REPAIR. *TR
CAR ENGINE UNEXPECTEDLY STOPPED WHILE DRIVING, LOSING ALL POWER AND BRAKES. CAR HAD SAT IN BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES FOR A WEEK. THERE WERE NO FLASHING WARNING LIGHTS NOR ANY BUZZING SOUNDS OF OVERHEATING AS STATED IN THE CAR MANUAL WOULD INDICATE IMMEDIATE ACTION WAS NEEDED. PARKING BRAKE WAS USED TO STOP AND ENGINE WAS DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR. *TR
MY 2011 JEEP GC HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING STARTING ISSUES FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS WHICH I ATTRIBUTED TO SOME FORM OF FUEL DELIVERY ISSUE. AFTER PUTTING IN A HIGHER OCTANE GAS AND FUEL CLEANER I THOUGHT I HAD REMEDIED THE ISSUE. HOWEVER, RECENTLY THE START UP ISSUE BECAME SO PREVALENT SO I HAD TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALER INDICATED THE CAUSE WAS A DEFECTIVE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). AFTER PAYING FOR THE SERVICE TO REPLACE THE TIPM I WENT ONLINE TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM. IN DOING SO I DISCOVERED MULTIPLE OTHER JEEP OWNERS ARE EXPERINCING THE SAME ISSUE. BASED ON MY READING OF THE COMPLAINTS JEEP SHOULD BE HANDLING THE DEFECTIVE TIPM AS A RECALL ISSUE DUE TO INSTALLING THE FAULTY PRODUCT DURING THE PRODUCTION OF THE VEHICLES. *TR
THE BRAKES ON MY 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE STOPPED WORKING AFTER A FREEZE IN THE NORTHEAST. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP AND NOW THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. THERE APPEARS TO BE OVER 500 JEEPS JUST LIKE MINE AT THIS TIME OFF OF THE ROAD BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. I'M AFRAID THAT THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW WITH THE PART AS IT LETS MOISTURE INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER ONCE IT GETS COLD RENDERING THE BRAKE BOOSTER USELESS WHEN THE DRIVER LOOKS TO STOP. THIS IS A SEVERE ISSUE AND I WAS VERY LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO GET THE JEEP TO A DEALERSHIP RIGHT AWAY. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEED SLOWED DOWNED TO EXIT HIGHWAY AND WHEN I WENT TO STOP TO PAY TOLL BRAKE PEDAL BECAME HARD AS A ROCK AND CAR WOULD NOT STOP. I RELEASED PRESSURE FROM PEDAL AND TRIED TO PUMP BRAKES AND GOT CAR TO STOP, ABS SYSTEM DID NOT ACTIVATE AND NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ACTIVATED!!!!! WHEN I TOOK CAR TO SERVICE STATION I WAS INFORMED THE POWER BOOSTER FOR THE BRAKES HAD BLOWN. AND THE DEALER INFORMED THE SERVICE STATION THERE ARE -7 ON THE NORTH EASTERN REGION AND THE COLD WEATHER HAS CAUSED THIS PART TO BLOW OUT!!!!!! *TR
VEHICLE REFUSED TO TURN OVER, SERVICE 4X4 AND ENGINE LIGHT ON. BROUGHT TO DEALER REPLACED FUEL PUMP. RETURNED TO ME WITH SERVICE 4X4 AND ENGINE LIGHT ON, SLID DOWN ON HILL NO 4 WHEEL DRIVE. RETURNED TO DEALER 4 WEEKS LATER TRANSFER CASE REPLACED CAR JUMP INTO 4 WHEEL LOW WHILE I WAS ON HIGHWAY ALMOST PUT ME THRU WINDSHIELD. BACK AT DEALER OVER 1 WEEK THE DO NOT KNOW THE PROBLEM AND STATED NO ONE ON THEIR COUNTRY WIDE DATABASE HAS THIS PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT JEEP HEADQUARTERS WANTS ALL REPORTS SENT TO THEM TO ASSIST REPAIR. I PURCHASED THIS CAR USED IN OCTOBER AND HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT MORE THEN 1 WEEK. I HAVE A HUGE PAYMENT AND HUGE RENTAL BILLS I DID FILE A CASE WITH JEEP CUSTOMER BUT NO HELP. *TR
I HAVE A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH MY TRUCK STALLING WHILE ON THE ROAD AND PROBLEMS WITH IT TURNING ON. AT TIMES I WOULD NOT HEAR MY FUEL PUMP TURN ON AND EVEN WHEN I WOULD HEAR IT RUN MY TRUCK WOULD STILL FAIL TO COMPLETELY TURN ON. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR A YEAR OR SO. I HAD EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM IN THE PAST WITH THE STALLING AND UPON TAKING IT TO THE DEALER SHIP I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THAT MY VEHICLE WAS FINE. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER MY VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE BUT SINCE THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS NORMAL I CONTINUED ON. NONE THE LESS A FEW DAYS AGO I EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM AT WORK WHERE MY TRUCK DID NOT TURN ON. LUCKILY AFTER 4 HOURS OF ATTEMPTING TO TURN IT ON IT FINALLY DID I DROVE IT HOME THE NEXT DAY IN THE MORNING IT DID NOT START UP AGAIN. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS THE TIPM AND IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I HAD PURCHASED BUT I WOULD STILL HAVE TO PAY $100 FOR THE DEDUCTIBLE FOR THE WARRANTY. I AM BEYOND LIVID AND UPSET WITH THESE NEW FINDINGS THAT THIS IS A COMMON AND KNOWN ISSUE. MY WIFE AND MYSELF HAVE MATCHING 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE'S AND NOW I AM JUST WAITING FOR THE SAME THING TO HAPPEN TO HER! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! WHEN WILL THERE BE A RECALL!!! *TR
I AM SECOND OWNER OF A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT AT THE TIME OF THE FOLLOWING INCIDENT HAD JUST UNDER 35K MILES BUT WAS 2 MONTHS OVER THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THE TEMPERATURE THE MORNING OF JAN 4, 2014 WAS BETWEEN -2 & -4 F. I STARTED JEEP AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE TO END OF BLOCK. WHEN DEPRESSING AND/OR RELEASING BRAKE I HEARD AN AIR LEAK FROM UNDER THE DASH. I RETURNED HOME AND PARKED THE CAR. THE NEXT DAY THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE HAD GONE ABOVE 5 DEGREES F. THE CAR NO LONGER MADE THE AIR LEAK SOUND. I DROPPED VEHICLE OFF EVENING OF JAN 6 TO LOCAL MECHANIC. TEMPERATURE ON JAN 7 DROPPED TO 5 F. MECHANIC INDICATED AIR LEAK CONDITION WAS NOTED AND INDICATED ISSUE WAS POWER BRAKE BOOSTER. THEY SUGGESTED I CONTACT JEEP TO SEE IF THEY WOULD MAKE REPAIRS. I HAD DISCUSSIONS WITH CHRYSLER/JEEP AND JEEP DEALER ABOUT ISSUE. I DID NOT MENTION THAT I HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC. I ADVISED THEM THAT INDICATIONS WERE A BAD POWER BRAKE BOOSTER AND THAT I FELT THIS WAS A LATENT FAILURE THAT WOULD ONLY SHOW UP AT SUBFREEZING TEMPERATURES. CHRYSLER/JEEP INDICATED SINCE AUTO HAD 35K MILES BUT EXCEEDED 36 MONTHS, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND JEEP WOULD NOT DIAGNOSE OR COVER COST OF REPAIR WITHOUT ME PAYING. I HAD REPLACEMENT OF POWER BOOSTER DONE BY THE LOCAL MECHANIC ON JAN 15. THEY DETERMINED THERE WAS WATER IN THE BOOSTER. IT WAS THEIR DIAGNOSIS THAT THE BOOSTER HAD A LEAK THAT ALLOWED WATER TO ENTER. WHEN TEMPERATURE DROPPED TO THOSE NOTED, THE BOOSTER WOULD EXHIBIT AN AIR LEAK. I HAVE SUBSEQUENTLY SEARCHED THE CONDITION ON SEVERAL CHRYSLER VEHICLE INTERNET FORUMS AND HAVE FOUND THAT THIS BOOSTER FAILURE CONDITION IS DESCRIBED ALMOST IDENTICALLY TO WHAT I ENCOUNTERED. I HAVE A CONCERN THAT THIS IS A DESIGN ISSUE AND THE PROBLEM IS NOT DETECTABLE UNLESS THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW A CERTAIN DEGREE. THIS COULD RESULT IN A POWER BRAKE FAILURE. *TR
THE PROBLEM WE HAD WAS GENERALLY WITH STARTING THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN INTERMITTENT OVER SEVERAL WEEKS, SEEMING TO BE MORE OF A PROBLEM IN COLDER WEATHER. THE ENGINE SPUN BUT WOULD NOT START. IN OTHER WORDS, THE ENGINE ATTEMPTED TO START, SOMETIMES CRANKING CONTINUOUSLY, UNTIL IT TIMED OUT WITHOUT STARTING. WITH TIME AND FREQUENCY, WE BECAME MORE CONCERNING THAT WE WOULD BE STRANDED IN AN UNDESIRABLE SITUATION. AFTER READING NUMEROUS POSTS ON THIS WEBSITE, HTTP://WWW.GOTACLASSACTION.COM/CHRYSLER-INVESTIGATED-OVER-DEFECTIVE-TOTALLY-INTEGRATED-POWER-MODULE-TIPM-IN-2011-2012-JEEP-GRAND-CHEROKEES-AND-DODGE-DURANGOS/, WE WERE ALMOST CERTAIN WE HAD A DEFECTIVE TIPM. WE TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND THEY INDICATED IT HAD A FUEL RELAY SHORT INTERNALLY IN THE TIPM. THEY SUGGESTED A WIRING WORKAROUND, INSTALLING AN EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP RELAY AND BYPASSING THE DEFECTIVE TIPM. PERHAPS THIS IS BETTER THAN IMPROVISING, BUT WE DO NOT KNOW THE RISKS THIS CARRIES -- THE WIRING WORKAROUND AND THE STILL DEFECTIVE TIPM -- FOR GOING FORWARD. ADDITIONALLY, WE HOPE THERE WOULD BE A RECALL OF THE TIPM AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE WIRING WORKAROUND IN OUR FUTURE. *TR
2011 JEEP CHEROKEE GRAND. I HAVE 50,000 MILES ON IT. IT HAS STALLED AND IS NOT CONSISTENTLY STARTING UP. TIPM HAS GONE BAD. *TR
THERE ARE THREE KEY PARTS THAT MUST WORK AFTER A CAR STARTS, STEERING, BRAKING AND ACCELERATING. THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND POWER STEERING PUMP IN MY 11 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE NEED TO BE REPLACED. I'M CURRENTLY TAKING ALL PRECAUTIONS WHEN DRIVING, HOWEVER THIS IS NOT NEARLY ENOUGH. I FEEL THAT AN ACCIDENT IS INEVITABLE. IT HAS NOW BEEN TWO WEEKS WAITING FOR TWO PARTS. FACING THE WORST WEATHER CONDITIONS IN YEARS I WOULD LIKE TO FEEL SAFE DRIVING TO WORK AND WITH MY FAMILY. I UNDERSTAND THAT CERTAIN STATISTICS HAVE TO MEET BEFORE ISSUING A COSTLY RECALL, HOWEVER UNDER THESE CONDITIONS I'M FACED WITH (BACKORDERED PARTS) I DON'T SEE WHY AN EXCEPTION SHOULDN'T BE ISSUED AGAINST CHRYSLER. IF A PROBLEM EXISTS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO MEET DEMAND. NOT BEING ABLE TO MEET DEMAND WILL ALMOST SURELY PROVOKE A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT. MY QUESTION IS WHAT STEPS ARE BEING TAKEN BY THE NHTSA AGAINST JEEP/CHRYSLER? HIT THE GYM AND FLEX YOUR MUSCLES. THE WORST ACTION IS NOT TAKING ONE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V154000 (SERVICE BRAKES), BUT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
AFTER MUCH RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT MY TIPM IS BAD. MY VEHICLE STARTED EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH STARTING AND STALLING IN JANUARY OF 2014 (@ JUST OVER 30K MILES). INITIALLY I DID NOT THINK MUCH OF THE PROBLEM AS IT WAS IN JANUARY AND COLD HERE IN COLORADO. THE PROBLEM MILDLY CONTINUED IN FEB AND MARCH... FAST FORWARD TO JULY 2014 AND THE PROBLEM BECAME MORE PREVALENT. I FINALLY HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM (TOMORROW - 28AUGUST2014). IT IS NOW A DAILY OCCURRENCE THAT MY VEHICLE WILL NOT START WITHOUT MANY ATTEMPTS AND ONCE IT DOES START, IT STALLS AND THE ENGINE TURNS OFF. *TR
I HAVE RECEIVED MULTIPLE RECALL NOTICES MULTIPLE TIMES (P36, P14, P54), I HAVE ASKED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER (RAIRDON'S OF BELLINGHAM WA) ABOUT THESE RECALLS MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE LAST YEAR AND HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE YET TO PERFORM THE REPAIRS FOR THESE RECALLS, THEY ALSO ASSURED ME THAT I WAS ON THE WAITING LIST FOR THESE RECALLS TO BE PERFORMED, I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED. FINALLY I CALLED ANOTHER JEEP DEALER KARMART JEEP OF BURLINGTON WA, THEY SAID THEY HAD THE PARTS IN STOCK AND SCHEDULED MY APPOINTMENT AND TOOK CARE OF ALL THREE RECALLS. I AM NOT HAPPY THAT RAIRDONS PUT MY SAFETY AND MY FAMILY'S SAFETY IN JEOPARDY FOR WELL OVER A YEAR WHEN PARTS WERE OBVIOUSLY AVAILABLE. *TR
LEVER OPERATING HIGH BEAM/BRIGHT HEAD LIGHTS DOES NOT CLICK INTO PLACE. WHEN PRESSED FORWARD TO ENGAGE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS, THE LEVER OFTEN RETURNS BACK TO ITS PREVIOUS LOW LIGHT POSITION ON ITS OWN. ADDITIONALLY, IT AUTOMATICALLY RETURNS TO LOW LIGHT POSITION WHEN YOU TRY TO USE TURN INDICATORS.
This is a widespread complaint as it happens to every Jeep with leather dashboards. The leather starts to wrinkle & shrink, releasing it from the dashboard mount itself on my 2011Grand Cherokee Overland, which started in 2014. I tried to no avail to get Jeep to repair it under warranty, they denied it every time. In January 2020 I complained on Twitter about it & tagged Jeep in it, Jeep Cares contacted me and after a few messages back & forth, me providing pictures and my VIN, they told me I was entitled to a "X81" Extended Warranty for the leather to be replaced at no cost. I contacted dealer as they suggested & they told me to bring it in so they could see it & order replacement leather. We were in the middle of a World Wide Pandemic so I have waited to have that & many other issues fixed. When I went to dealership yesterday, I was told the X81 expired in June 2020, 6 months after I was told of it. I was NEVER told of any expiration period or I would have taken it in, I waited because of the Pandemic. EVERY leather dash by Jeep/Chrysler does the same thing as mine, they need to be responsible and cover it. I don't know the validity of it, but I've read this can cause premature passenger air bag deployment, that scares me.
DASHBOARD DELAMINATING, BUCKLING, BUBBLING FULL DASHBOARD WARPED. AIR VENTS ARE WARPED AND DON'T SIT PROPERLY POSSIBLY AFFECTING WINDOW DEFOGGER. CONCERNED IF AIRBAG ON RIGHT SIDE WOULD WORK PROPERLY.
DRIVING ON INTERSTATE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. VEHICLE SHUTTERS AT STOP. SET APPOINTMENT FOR DEALER. DEALER TESTED SYSTEM. REPORT STATES MULTIPLE IN MULTIPLE MODULES , LOW VOLTAGE BATTERY FAILED TEST, MUST BE REPLACED. DEALER CHARGED FOR NEW BATTERY, AND MULTIPLE MODULE UPDATES. REPROGRAMMED PCM, TIPM, POWER LIFT GATE, WIRELESS CONTROL MODULE, AND FINAL DRIVE CONTROLLER. VEHICLE HAS BEEN OUT OF SHOP LESS THAN A WEEK. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON MUST BE TAKEN IN FOR REPAIR AGAIN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
I AM THE SECOND OWNER OF A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT HAD UNDER 65K MILES BUT WAS JUST 1 MONTH OVER THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THE TEMPERATURE THE MORNING OF DEC 18, 2014 WAS COLD. I STARTED JEEP AND PROCEEDED TO REVERSE OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND PRESSED BRAKE AND HEARD A HISSING SOUND FROM UNDER THE WHEEL DASH. AFTER DRIVING FOR MAYBE 15 MINUTES THE HISSING STOPPED. THUS, EVERY MORNING THE HISSING WOULD HAPPEN AT FIRST START OF JEEP. ON CHRISTMAS DAY WHILE DRIVING ON EXPRESSWAY THE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON. I PULL OVER TO CHECK FLUIDS AND FOUND FLUIDS WERE NOT LEAKING AND AT CAPACITY. PUMP MY BRAKES AND I NOTICE I STILL HAVE FUNCTION. I TAKE VEHICLE A DAY LATER TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT FIND A PROBLEM WITH VEHICLE BRAKES. ON JAN 20TH TOOK JEEP TO DEALER AND MECHANIC INDICATED ISSUE WAS POWER BRAKE BOOSTER. *TR
PURCHASED A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO 4X4 FROM MOORE AUTO SALES IN MOORE, OKLAHOMA ON NOV. 16, 2013 AND HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT SINCE THE 17TH. I HAVE OWNED A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SINCE MAY OF THIS YEAR. THIS PAST WEEK MY WIFE BEGAN HAVE TROUBLE GETTING THE JEEP STARTED. YESTERDAY MORNING, IT TOOK HER 45 MINUTES TO GET THE JEEP STARTED. SHE LEFT WORK AROUND NOON TO RUN AN ERRAND AND ENDED UP STUCK IN A PARKING LOT IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES FOR OVER AN HOUR TRYING TO GET THE VEHICLE STARTED. ONLY AFTER I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY FOR A TOW TRUCK, DID THE VEHICLE FINALLY START. SHE DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED A FAULTY TIPM. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THEN PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT IT WOULD BE A $1500 REPAIR. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH AND DISCOVERING THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL YEAR I CALL JEEP COSTUMER SERVICE YESTERDAY AND AGAIN TODAY AND RECEIVED THE SAME ANSWER. I BROUGHT MY JEEP TO THE RON CARTER JEEP DEALERSHIP ON NOVEMBER 8, 2013 AND ON NOVEMBER 12, 2013 I WAS INFORMED THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE TIPM. SEVERAL HOURS AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE I NOTICED A SOUND LIKE A SMALL MOTOR OR FAN COMING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE A BY PASS TO A HOT WIRED FUEL PUMP IS A FORMULA FOR A DISASTER.
