THE OIL FILTER HOUSING IS CRACKED AND IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE.ONE MORNING THERE WAS A LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL UNDER MY VEHICLE. AT THIS TIME THERE ARE SO MANY OPEN ISSUES WITH THIS DEFECTED PART THAT I AM UNABLE TO GET THIS PART CAUSE THERE ARE 5800 PEOPLE IN LINE BEFORE ME WAITING FOR THIS PART. I AM UNSURE WHERE TO START TO HAVE THIS RECALLED BUT I WOULD LIKE TO MOVE IN THE DIRECTION OF HAVING THAT DONE. PLEASE HELP! I NEED TO HAVE THIS DONE? I READ ONLINE THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBLE PETITION STARTED FOR THIS VERY ISSUE.
I WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT THE VEHICLE WAS OFF AND PARKED AND THE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED OUT OF NOWHERE. I WAS STRUCK IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD AND SUFFERED A CONCUSSION, NECK AND SHOULDER INJURY AND WHIPLASH.
The EGR cooler was not properly installed by the manufacturer which has caused several failures to the vehicles engine components (such as oil cooler, engine coolant system, and the EGR itself). Additionally, the EGR cooler has an active safety recall due to risk of engine explosion and vehicle fire. The parts and remedy for this recall have been available since November. This repair is covered under BOTH the active recall as well as an extended emissions warranty that was required by a federal judge in the settlement agreement for the emissions scandal which FCA settled with the federal courts to provide remedies to its customers. Thus far, FCA has not honored the terms of this federally required extended emissions warranty on two separate occasions. I have contacted three separate dealers and FCA on two occasions. FCA has refused to assist in the EGR repairs and the dealers have refused to perform the repairs. I’ve not been able to get any assistance from FCA, or the dealers. My EGR cooler is a safety risk and this should be addressed immediately. I have been working to get this resolved with Jeep since March 12th. I need the law to be enforced.
According to the recall notice I received in the mail, the EGR cooler needs to be replaced. I scheduled an appointment and took the vehicle in. Upon arrival I was told that, yes there is a repair solution but that the parts are not available. But that they would place an order and notify me when it arrives. It has been several months and still no repair. *Note* I am having to add engine coolant on a regular basis.
THIS VEHICLE WAS IN A SIDE IMPACT COLLISION AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. VEHICLE HAD IMPACT ON DRIVER AND REAR PASSENGER DOORS AS WELL AS FRONT FENDER.
THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER-SIDE SEATBELT PILLAR LOOP THAT WILL NOT ALLOW THE SEATBELT TO RETRACT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL UNDER THE PENDING RECALL STATUS NHTSA #PE19011 (SINCE SEPTEMBER 2019).
MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE'S AIR RIDE SUSPENSION HAS FAILED TWICE AND I ONLY HAVE 11,670 MILES ON IT. WHEN THE DEALERSHIP HAD VEHICLE BOTH TIMES IT TOOK OVER A WEEK TO COMPLETE REPAIRS. SUSPENSION JUST FAILED WAS AT ITS LOWEST LEVEL AND THERE WAS NO WARNING.
THE OIL FILTER HOUSING IS MADE OF PLASTIC AND ATTACHED TO THE MOTOR. HIGH FAILURE RATE AS EVIDENCED BY THE 40,000 PART BACKORDER STATUS OF THE PART. CAUSES MODERATE TO SEVERE OIL LEAK WHEN CRACKED, AND ENGINE FAILURE IF IT BREAKS COMPLETELY. LEAVES AN OILY MESS WHEREVER IT IS PARKED. OIL WILL BLOW BACK ONTO OTHER VEHICLES AND VEHICLE WILL BE STALL AND BE STRANDED WHEN MOTOR LOCKS UP DUE TO NO OIL. $600+ REPAIR COSTS. AFFECTS SOME DODGE, JEEP, AND CHRYSLER VEHICLES. UNABLE TO REPAIR STALLED VEHICLES BECAUSE PART IS UNAVAILABLE. EST WAIT TIME IS OVER A MONTH. PART NUMBER IS 68105583AF. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THE COMPANY NOT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUTTING A PLASTIC CONNECTOR INSIDE AN ENGINE HOUSING. IT'S COMMON SENSE. I WAS LEFT STRANDED ON A BUSY ROAD AND HAD TO BE TOWED. I PERSONALLY KNOW OF TWO OTHERS ALSO. OUR VEHICLES ARE USELESS BECAUSE OF THIS. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, DEALERS ARE NOW OVERCHARGING FOR THE PART. NORMALLY $199, NOW CHARGING OVER $300.
ON MONDAY, JANUARY 22, 2021 AROUND 3 PM, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND MY JEEP AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND THE WORDS 'AUTO PARK' DISABLED APPEARED ON THE SCREENED. I IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED IT BACK INTO DRIVE AND CONTINUED DRIVE AND EXITED AND WENT TO A GAS STATION. I TURNED IT OFF, PUMPED GAS AND TURNED IT BACK. WHEN I TRIED TO BACK UP, IT IMMEDIATELY SHIFTED THE CAR INTO PARK. I CALLED THE NEAREST DEALER AND ASKED WHAT IT COULD BE? THEY CHECKED FOR RECALLS AND SAID THAT RECALL FOR A SIMILAR DEFECT WAS ALREADY REPAIRED ON MY VEHICLE, MAYBE IT WAS LOW ON TRANSMISSION FLUID. THEY ALSO RECOMMENDED LOOKING TO SEE IF ANY OTHER 2014 JEEPS HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME MY VEHICLE HAS EVER DONE THAT. I ASKED IF IT COULD BE RELATED TO THE EXTREME COLD. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP. I HAVE SCHEDULED THE APPOINTMENT.
THIS IS MY SECOND JEEP AND MY PREVIOUS HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THE WIND SHIELD FLUID KIND DRIZZLES OUT AND NEVER REACHES THE TOP OF THE WIND SHIELD
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT IS LOCKED IN PLACE AND WONT EXTEND OR RETRACT. APPEARS THAT A PLASTIC PIECE THAT HELPS GUIDE THE SEATBELT HAS CRACKED AND IT NOT ALLOWING THE SEAT BELT TO MOVE FREELY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER STEERING FUNCTIONALITY, CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO BECOME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
TOOK MY VEHICLE TO BROWNS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE TODAY IN PATCHOGUE NY TODAY AS I NOTICED OIL LEAKING FROM UNDER CARRIAGE. IT WAS TOLD TO ME THAT THE OIL FILTER HOUSING ASSEMBLY IS BROKEN. CONTACTED MY LOCAL CAR REPAIR ( TIRE CITY , SHIRLEY NY ) TO GET INFORMATION ON THIS SITUATION AND ALSO SEE HOW MUCH THEY WOULD CHARGE . IN THE CONVERSATION, IT WAS MENTIONED THAT THEY ALSO HAD THIS SIMILAR PROBLEM AND HAD MANY JEEPS COME IN LATELY WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED AND HAD THEM RECORD THE ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER HEAD QUARTERS IN MI. I BELIEVE AS WELL AS THE OWNER OF TIRE CITY IN SHIRLEY NY , THAT THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION ON THIS AS WELL AS A RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, SHE NOTICED A PUDDLE OF FLUID ON THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL COOLER WAS LEAKING AND WAS MIXING OIL WITH THE ANTIFREEZE AND WAS GOING BACK INTO THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE OIL COOLER UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEEN REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
I NOTICED AN OIL LEAK,THROUGH A LITTLE RESEARCH I THOUGHT IT WAS THE OIL COOLER/OIL FILTER ADAPTER. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY CONFIRMED IT BUT TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A NATIONWIDE BACK ORDER ON THE PART. I WAS TOLD THAT 37,000 UNITS ARE ON BACK ORDER. I FEEL THAT THERE IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM WITH THIS PART, I THINK THAT OIL LEAKS COULD LEAD TO POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUES AND POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee the radio stop responding, won't allow to be turned off, won't allow to lower the volume, vehicle has to be turn on for 5 minutes and turn back on, then radio will start working normal again. It has happen to me in multiple ocaccions while listening to music via bluetooth from my phone.
DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WON'T RETRACT. CRACK IN PLASTIC CAUSING IT TO NOT RETRACT. UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH LOTS OF SLACK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOME LIGHT FAILED TO TURN-OFF WHEN THE BUTTON WAS ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE BODY CONTROL MODULE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.
FRONT RIGHT SEAT BELT DOESN'T RETRACT. PLASTIC D-RING (GUIDE AT B-PILLAR) CRACKED. THIS IS RUBBING THE SEAT BELT AND PREVENTING IT FROM RETRACTING AS NORMAL.
HELLO, MY VEHICLE HAS HAD A NUMBER OF RECALLS FOR EMISSIONS AND DRIVE TRAIN. DUE THE NUMBER OF MODIFICATIONS BY JEEP, MY VEHICLE'S PERFORMANCE HAS BEEN NEGATIVELY AFFECTED TO A POINT THAT SOMETIMES IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. EVERY SOFTWARE UPDATE RESULTS IN LOWER MILEAGE AND SLUGGISH PERFORMANCE. NOW JEEP IS SLOW ROLLING EGR RECALL AND LETTING A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO DEVELOP.
CHRYSLER HAS A RECALL FOR THE EGR COOLER ON THE DODGE RAM ECODIESEL (VB1/NHTSA 19V-757) THIS IS THE SAME ENGINE AND EGR COOLER AS THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ECODIESEL. THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF GRAND CHEROKEE 3.0 ECODIESEL VEHICLES CATCHING FIRE AND BURNING TO THE GROUND. JEEP CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE OR PARTS FOR IT, YET WE ARE STILL ALLOWED TO DRIVE AROUND IN OUR VEHICLES. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT IS LOCKED I SEE THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM I HAND ALONE. I READ SOMEONE SAID THEY HAVE A PENDING RECALL FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS, I THINK IT'SA BIG ISSUE SINCE SOME HAVE THE PROBLEM ON THE DRIVER SEAT.
EGR FAILURE, EGR IS THE SAME THAT IS IN THE RAMS THAT HAS BEEN RECALL FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS. PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE JEEPS, BUT ARE THE SAME EGRS THAT GO ON THE RAMS. EGR IS FAILING ON THESE VEHICLES ARE CREATING ENGINE FIRES WITH NO WARNING
PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED ON ITS OWN WITH THE CAR PARKED AND ENGINE OFF. I CAN SEE A PLASTIC CLIP THAT IS BROKEN THAT NORMALLY HOLDS A METAL PIN IN PLACE TO KEEP THE HEADREST IN PLACE
I BOUGHT THIS JEEP IN 2018 WITH LOW MILES 40,000 NOW IN 2021 HAS 68,000. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE CAR ONLY TO GO WORK AND WORKING FROM HOME I WASN'T DRIVING THAT MUCH. SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING I NOTICED A LIGHT ON AND IT WAS ON AND OFF, AND OIL SMELL. I TOOK IT FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC AND THE CODE MISFIRE DETECTED IN CYLINDER NUMBER 3., P0303 ,WHICH IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE. THE PRICE IS 4000 TO FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IS A MISFIRE IN ONE OF THE CYLINDERS OF THE ENGINE. THE CAR IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY BECAUSE IT HAS A OIL SMELL AND SOME ISSUES WHEN I AM DRIVING SUCH AS SHAKING AND ALSO A WEIRD SOUND . THIS IS THE ONLY CAR THAT I HAVE RIGHT NOW AND I AM SCARE TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE I DON'T THINK IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE IT WITH OIL SMELL, IT MIGHT CAUGHT ON FIRE OR SOMETHING . THE STARTER IS NOT WORKING AND WHEN DRIVING IS UNSTABLE. I JUST DRIVE LOCALLY I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS CAR IS GIVING ME AN ENGINE PROBLEM WITH THAT LOW MILEAGE. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE THAT A CAR PARKED AND USING NOT OFTEN COULD HAVE AN ENGINE PROBLEM. I BOUGHT THIS CAR THINKING TO KEEP IT FOR A LONG TIME SINCE I ALWAYS TAKE A GOOD CARE OF MY CARS. I NEED AN EXPLANATION FROM JEEP REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. I AM NOT GOING TO SPEND OVER $4000 IN A CAR WITH LESS THAN 100,000 MILES AND WITH A PROBLEM THAT WAS NOT DONE BY ME. I NEED TO RESOLVE THIS SINCE IT MIGHT BE A SAFETY RISK IF I CONTINUE DRIVING THIS CAR WITH SOME TYPE OF ENGINE/ OIL SMELL. WHEN I PARKED THE CAR A STRONG BURNED OIL SMELL COMES OUT AND GOES INSIDE THE CAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE PLASTIC OIL FILTER HOUSING HAD FAILED CAUSING AN OIL LEAK AND THE OIL FILTER HOUSING GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.*JB
WITH THE VEHICLE RUNNING, IN PARK, ON A SLIGHT INCLINED DRIVEWAY, ROLLED BACKWARDS UNTIL FOOT BREAK WAS ENGAGED. ONLY MADE LESS THAN 1 FOOT BEFORE OPERATOR INTERVENTION. REMOVED FOOT FROM MANUAL BREAK, APPROXIMATELY 3 MINUTES LATER, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS AGAIN WHILE IN CONFIRMED PARK. AGAIN, LESS THAN 1 FOOT BEFORE OPERATOR INTERVENTION. NOTE: A SLIGHT AMOUNT OF SNOW/ICE WAS PRESENT ON THE DRIVE, HOWEVER BOTH DRIVER'S SIDE WHEELS WERE FREE OF SNOW/ICE DURING THE OCCURANCE, VEHICLE IS 4WD. I HAVE NOT PARKED ON AN INCLINE SINCE THE OCCURANCE.
VEHICLE SHUDDERS WHEN ACCELERATING, MAINLY LOW SPEEDS. JEEP DEALERSHIP INVESTIGATED AND STATED TRANSFER CASE NEEDS REPLACED.
At approximately 2:00 PM, on January 17, 2021, my wife was sitting in the front passenger seat of our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit waiting for me so that we can drive to Columbus, GA for my brother's funeral. Then, for no reason at all, the headrest of the passenger popped open. My wife screamed because she thought someone was hiding in the back seat and had smacked her on the back of her head. We don't know why it happened but would like for it to be fixed by Jeep. A replacement headset was estimated to cost about $1000.00.
SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE PUT MY VEHICLE IN PARK AND IT HAS STARTED ROLLING BACK. ONCE IT WAS IN PARK, THE DRIVER EXITED THE VEHICLE, AND AFTER A MINUTE THE VEHICLE BEGAN ROLLING. YES IT WAS IN PARK AS INDICATED ON THE DASHBOARD. I HADN'T PUT THE PARKING BREAK ON AS I HAD JUST STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND WASN'T PLANNING ON STAYING PARKED. WE WERE IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH A VERY SLIGHT INCLINE. ALL TIMES (4 SO FAR) I HAD TO PUT MY FOOT ON THE BREAK TO STOP THE VEHICLE. ONCE MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE CAR AND JUMPED OVER TO SAVE HER LIFE BY PUTTING HER FOOT ON THE BREAK AS IT WOULD'VE WENT OVER THE SIDE OF A HILL. WITH A QUICK SEARCH IT APPEARS SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME WITH BRAND NEW 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE
The dashboard has bubbles and is delaminating from the dash. This problem exists in many of the jeeps and a secret service bulletin was issue for only a 6 month period back in December 2019 to June of 2020. Jeep owners were not contacted about this and a recall should be declared for this defective part.
DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT RETRACT. THERE ARE NO BROKEN/CHIPPED PARTS VISIBLE, APPEARS TO BE THE MECHANISM AT THE BASE.
MY JEEP LEFT HEADLIGHT AND RIGHT IS FILLING UP WITH WATER AND IT IS NOT DRAINING. THE RIGHT WILL DRAIN WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT BUT THE LEFT HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY HAS WATER IN IT FOR MONTHS NOW AND ITS NOT GOING ANYWHERE. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AND IS A DEFECT. ANYTIME IT RAINS IT HAPPENS. I CAN BE DRIVING OR MY JEEP SITTING STILL.
WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL. WE WERE STUCK ON THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE WE TRIED TO GET IT TO GO BACK INTO DRIVE. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WHEN WE WERE TURNING OUT IN FRONT OF A CAR OR ON A BRIDGE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY BAD AND MORE THAN LIKELY CAUSED A BAD WRECK. EVERYWHERE I READ SAYS THESE CARS A NOW FOR THE SHIFTER PROBLEM BUT DOESN'T APPEAR TO HAVE A RECALL FOR MY EXACT VIN. WE HAD TO STOP DRIVING THE CAR BECAUSE WE ARE SCARED IT IS GOING TO GET US IN A WRECK. THE JEEP DEALER NEAR US SAID THAT WE NEED A NEW ELECTRONIC SHIFTER. IT IS ON BACK ORDER UNTIL EARLY FEBRUARY. WHAT CAN WE DO TO GET THIS REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD CAUSE HORRIBLE WRECKS. WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD GETTING READY TO TURN ONTO AND I70 ON RAMP WHEN THE CAR JUST WENT TO NEUTRAL AND STOPPED. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY FOR MAYBE A COUPLE OF MINUTES WHILE WE TRIED TO GET IT BACK IN GEAR AND DRIVE STRAIGHT HOME. WE GOT LUCKY WE DID T GET HIT BY A SEMI TRUCK BECAUSE IT IS A VERY BUSY AREA BECAUSE THERE ARE 2 TRUCK STOPS THAT DRIVE THROUGH THERE.
THE ELECTRONIC SHIFTER MAINTENANCE REQUIRE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON WITH CHECK WNGINE LIGHT AND WON'T DRIVE HAD AT DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES CAN'T FIX?? PLEASE HELP GETTING EXPENSIVE
DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST TRIM VISIBLY DETACHED FROM BACKSIDE. NOTICED WHILE PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. FIRST, NOTICED TETHER HANGING OUT FROM THE TOP. THEN, WITH A FLASHLIGHT, I LOOKED INTO THE INSIDE AND SEE WHAT LOOKS LIKE PLASTIC BRACKETS BROKEN FROM THE METAL ANCHOR POINT ON TOP. I ASKED MY WIFE (HER VEHICLE) IF SHE WAS IN ANY ACCIDENT AND SHE SAID NO. DOING RESEARCH ONLINE, I FOUND THAT THIS ACTIVE HEAD REST (AHR) TRIM IS SUPPOSED TO COMPRESS A SPRING AND CLIP ONTO METAL ANCHOR. BUT THIS PLASTIC IS SHEARED OFF. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V699000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED GRAND JUNCTION CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2578 US-6 &, HWY 50, GRAND JUNCTION, CO 81501) AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT REQUESTED A LOANER VEHICLE AND WAS INFORMED THAT HE HAD TO PAY A FEE DIRECTLY FOR THE REMAINING TIME AND ATTEMPT TO GET REIMBURSED FROM THE RECALL CENTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS NOT PLEASED WITH WHAT THE DEALER INFORMED HIM ABOUT THE LOANER VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND PROVIDED WITH A CASE NUMBER. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
OIL FILTER AND COOLER HOUSING LEAKING. CAR HAS LESS THAN 60,000 MILES AND IN 6 YEARS OLD. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 3.6L ENGINE IN THESE CARS AND CAN LEAD TO A FIRE OR LOSS OF ENGINE OIL RESULTING IN ENGINE FAILURE WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS NOT CAUSED BY ANY MOTION OF THE VEHICLE BUT JUST BY THE HEAT OF THE ENGINE WARPING THE PLASTIC PART AND CAUSING THE SEALS TO LEAK.
I BOUGHT THIS JEEP ON THE 31ST OF DECEMBER. ONLY 10 DAYS INTO HAVING IT THE OIL STARTED LEAKING. I TOOK IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AND HE ADVISED ME THAT IT WAS LEAKING FROM THE OIL FILTER AND HOUSING ALONG WITH THE OIL COOLER. HE ADVISED ME THAT THIS IS A ONGOING ISSUE WITH THESE JEEPS. THIS WOULD NOT BE A EASY FIX AS THE INTAKE MANIFOLD ALONG WITH THE HEATER HOSES, FILTER HOUSING/OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY WOULD ALL HAVE TO BE REMOVED.
WHEN I WENT TO THE GAS STATION ON RT. 130 IN BURLINGTON, THE ATTENDANT TOLD ME MY GAS CAP WAS BROKEN. I DIDN'T QUITE UNDERSTAND AND THOUGHT HE MEANT THE GAS DOOR SINCE IT IS SOMETIMES HARD TO GET OPEN. I CHECK THIS MORNING TO SEE WHAT HE MEANT AND MY GAS CAP WAS LAYING IN THE BEHIND THE GAS DOOR. I HAVE A CAPLESS SYSTEM. NO NEED TO TWIST. I DON'T KNOW HOW IT BROKE. I CAN ONLY SAY THE ATTENDANCE TOLD ME IT WAS BROKEN BEFORE HE FILLED UP MY TANK.

SERVICE SHIFTER WARNING COMES ON EVERY TIME I START MY JEEP AND THEN GOES AWAY. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT MANY JEEP OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT. IT IS ALSO VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX IF NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD BY MY DEALERSHIP THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY AND QUOTED $1400 TO FIX IT. THIS SHOULD BE JEEP'S RESPONSIBILITY AS IT IS A HAZARD WHEN THIS WARNING APPEARS WHILE DRIVING. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS LISTED ONLINE FOR THIS. THERE ARE OVER 170 COMPLAINTS THAT I HAVE SEEN.
SEAT BELT STOPPED RETRACTING, UPON INSPECTION OF THE ISSUE I WAS ABLE TO IDENTIFY TWO CRACKS IN THE PLASTIC GUIDE THE BELT RUNS THRU. THIS RESULTS IN THE GUIDE PINCHING THE BELT AND THUS KEEPING IT FROM RETRACTING. THIS RESULTS IN THE BELT BEING LOOSE WHEN WEARING AND POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT INJURY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
IN THIS CASE, THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY OR STARTING TO MOVE IN REVERSE TO HOOK A TRAILER. AS I LIGHTLY PUT MY HAND ON THE PASSENGER FRONT HEADREST, IT SPRUNG FORWARD. THERE WAS NOT A COLLISION AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT AND NO ONE CURRENTLY SITTING IN THE SEAT, ALTHOUGH, A PERSON WAS SITTING THERE JUST A FEW MINUTES BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, I SEE THE PLASTIC OF THE INSIDE OF THE HEADREST THAT HOLD A ROD TO KEEP IT ATTACHED HAD BROKEN APART. THIS SHOULD ONLY HAPPEN DURING AN ACCIDENT.
THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE DOOR WAS OPENED, THEN MY RIGHT PASSENGER HEADREST POPPED FORWARD AND OUT BEFORE THE PASSENGER SAT DOWN WITH LITTLE TO NO MOTION OTHER THAN THE DOOR OPENING.

Uconnect NAV 8.4N updated to the latest firmware when purchased in July of 2020. Currently it will reboot randomly and go to a black screen. At which point it will blast the heater and the radio at full volume while driving. Extremely terrifying and dangerous. Uconnect says it’s not their problem as it is an 8 year old system. Seems like they should be held accountable for forcing drivers into a DISTRACTED driver situation. Repeatedly. So far the only fix I have found is to pull over immediately and restart the vehicle. I am about to purchase an aftermarket unit to replace this dangerous item that is also affecting the resale value of said vehicle.
I HAVE BEEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD 3 DIFFERENT TIMES AT A NORMAL SPEED 55 AND IT DOWN SHIFTS TO A LOWER GEAR ON ITS OWN.THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET IT OUT IS TO MAKE A COMPLETE STOP AND PUT IT IN NEUTRAL OR CUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART. I HAVE PUT VERY FEW MILES ON THIS JEEP SINCE I PURCHASED IT. THIS HAPPENED THE LAST TIME I DROVE IT AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENS JUST GOING DOWN THE MAIN ROADS AND I AM GETTING AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I HAVE NOT DROVE IT AGIAN BECAUSE I AM AFRAID OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
THE PASSENGER SEAT HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED AND WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS STATIONARY WHEN IT DEPLOYED.
