WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE HEADREST DEPLOYED AND STRUCK ME IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD, THIS IS A SERIOUS RISK AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
AS I WAS DRIVING I HEARD A LOUD NOISE, AND WASN'T SURE WHAT IT WAS AT FIRST. I LOOKED OVER AND SAW THAT MY PASSENGER SEAT HEADREST HAD DEPLOYED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO HESITATE WITHOUT WARNING. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,520.*DT CONSUMER FEELS THERE IS A TRANSMISSION DEFECT.*JB
My cam failed after lifter got stuck at 65k miles, dealership repairs went bad after the first repair attempt they covered. I drove the jeep 19 miles after I bought it.. Then the low oil pressure light came on as the engine locked up. Was at dealer 6 weeks but it was not repaired correctly before i picked it up. On the way home from dealer oil pressure light came on half a sec before the engine seized up. I had to walk 5 miles and get a row truck from my work. 14 days to repair it after I purchased a new mopar long block. Dealer installed in 2 days. Cam lobs where gone and oil was almost magnetic due to camshaft lifter contact. I live in Michigan and i was half tempted to drive to fca in auburn hills just to show them 4 identical camshaft lifter failures I have seen in 3 years from friends and customers. I will probably have to file a lawsuit to recoup some if not all of the last repair cost. Old engine was dealership served at 3 to 4k miles religiously and it still failed. My jeep is ok now after paying for new engine before i even drove it home once. 2 months and $38k plus a few thousand in repairs all due to a shady dealership named Feldman automotive group.I don't think this is morally correct on any level. Makes me sick to pay 40k for the 2014 jeep grand cherokee srt used with low miles and tons more in repairs the first 29 miles. 2 months of hell. plus it ruined my financial stability. Why doesn't the dealership warranty a repair they did before a sale if it fails the same day. Something need to rectify my financial loss before I snap thinking about it 24-7. Feldman automotive group should of covered second repair attempt as first was unsuccessful.
WE HAVE A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ECODIESEL 3.0 WHICH IS PART OF THE OVERALL CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WITH THE EPA AND CARB. WE WENT THROUGH THE PROCESS, RECEIVED THE SOFTWARE UPDATE & REMUNERATION FOR THE LOSS IN VALUE ON THE VEHICLE FROM FCA. FCA CLEARLY INDICATED IN ITS LITERATURE REGARDING THE SETTLEMENT THAT THE PERFORMANCE, MILEAGE, ADBLUE/BLUEDEF USAGE, ETC. WOULD NOT BE AFFECTED (SEE ATTACHED INFORMATION SHOWING THE EMISSIONS SOFTWARE UPDATE) HOWEVER, OUR EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN QUITE THE OPPOSITE AS I UNDERSTAND IS COMMON PLACE AFTER THE UPGRADE. FCA DID NOT ADEQUATELY REPRESENT THE MAJOR PERFORMANCE CHANGES THAT WERE TO BE EXPECTED BY THE EMISSIONS SOFTWARE UPDATE & DOWNPLAYED ANY ISSUES. THE MAIN ISSUES THAT WE HAVE ENCOUNTERED SINCE THE UPDATE INCLUDE: 1. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON 3-4 TIMES; 2. A MAJOR AND DANGEROUS HESITATION/LAG OF THE VEHICLE WHEN YOU START IT & ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE-ESPECIALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. 3. A HIGHWAY MILEAGE DECREASE FROM AN AVERAGE OF 27-28MPG TO 19-21MPG; 4. SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN THE USE OF BLUE-DEF; WE HAVE HAD TO TAKE THE JEEP IN FOR SERVICE TO CHECK THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SEVERAL TIMES & IT IS AGAIN IN THE SHOP YESTERDAY/TODAY FOR THE SAME ISSUES. AT THIS POINT, WE BELIEVE THAT FCA DID NOT CORRECTLY REPRESENT & REPAIR THE ECODIESEL 3.0 ENGINE IN OUR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE & AS A RESULT OF THE UPGRADE, OUR PERFORMANCE HAS GREATLY DIMINISHED AND WE HAVE SUFFERED WITH A NON-PERFORMING VEHICLE. WE ASK THAT NHTSA LODGE A FORMAL COMPLAINT ON OUR BEHALF AND BE MADE AWARE OF THE CONTINUED ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLES & THE MISREPRESENTATION OF THE PERFORMANCE ISSUES.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY WHEN "SERVICE SHIFTER" WARNING CAME ON. LIGHTS ON SHIFTER GO ON AND OFF RANDOMLY WHILE PARKED AND IN MOTION ON HIGHWAYS, CITY STREETS. SHIFTER GETS STUCK BETWEEN GEARS, SHIFTER LIGHT READING GEAR READS DIFFERENTLY THAN DASH PANEL GEAR, EX. SHIFTER IS PUT IN DRIVE (D) AND DASHBOARD READS NEUTRAL (N). THERE ARE DELAYS IN SHIFTING BETWEEN GEARS AND BEEPING SOUND COMES ON. WHEN PUTTING VEHICLE INTO PARK AND IT WILL NOT READ IT, CREATING A STALL IN THE PROCESS, AND HAVING TO MOVE SHIFTER IN DIFFERENT GEARS BEFORE IT WILL START TO READ GEARS AGAIN. VEHICLE HAS THRUSTED FORWARD AFTER PUTTING INTO PARK WHILE A BEEPING NOISE IS GOING OFF. SHIFTER HAS NOT WANTED TO GO INTO PARK, OR REVERSE AND INSTEAD GOES INTO NEUTRAL. WHEN SHIFTER HAS BEEN PUT INTO PARK THE ENGINE HAS MADE AN ACCELERATION NOISE. SHIFTER HAS BEEN ERRATIC AND NON-CONSISTENT, CREATING FEARFUL AND UNSAFE OPERATING ISSUES.
THE PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED WITH A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. THE CAR WAS STOPPED AT A GAS STATION AND NOT IN MOTION AT THE TIME. IT WAS VERY DISTURBING AND MAKES ME FEARFUL OF FUTURE ISSUES ON THE DRIVER SIDE, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
WILE DRIVING UPHILL TRANSMISSION AGGRESSIVELY DOWN SHIFTS TO 3RD GEAR PUTTING CAR INTO LIMP MODE ALWAYS HAPPENS WILE GOING UP HILL ITS DANGEROUS NO RECALLS FOR THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUES, HAPPEND TO ME MULTIPLE TIMES CAR IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ONES I PULL OVER SHUT DOWN ENGINE AND STARD AGAIN CALL DRIVES NORMAL FOR A COUPLE OF MILES THEN ISSUE COMES BACK CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON, WITH ABS LIGHT TRANSMISSION WONT GO UP OR DOWN 3RD GEAR
WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO REVERSE SOMETIMES YOU GET A HARD SHIFT OR OTHER TIMES IT DOESN'T SHIFT AND SHIFTS TO NEUTRAL INSTEAD. FINALLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A CODE FOR THE TRANSMISSION CAME OUT. SEEMS LIKE THERE ARE OTHER JEEPS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAVE A RECALL FOR IT. BUT MY VEHICLE DOES NOT.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND SAW THE HEADREST COMPLETELY OPENED UP. THE CONTACT HAD A SORE NECK AND HEADACHE BUT DID NOT GO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE VEHICLE HAD NO RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,503.
DRIVER SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED WITHOUT CAUSE. THE VEHICLE WAS UNATTENDED WHEN THIS OCCURRED, AND IS NOT REPAIRABLE WITHOUT REPLACING
WHILE HAVING A NICE FAMILY OUTING ON JULY 6,2020. WE WERE HEADING TO A BUTTERFLY HOUSE ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY. MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT DRIVING. WHEN SUDDENLY WE HEARD A LOUD POP! SURPRISED AND CONFUSED I STARTED LOOKING AROUND EXPECTING TO FIND MY DAUGHTER HAD THROWN SOMETHING OR A POP BOTTLE EXPLODED...NOPE MY HEAD REST DEPLOYED HITTING MY HUSBAND, HARD, IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. THIS IS NOT A SAFE ISSUE HE COULD HAVE LOST CONTROL AND CRASHED. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED.
TRANSMISSION SURGES AND SHUTS DOWN.
AFTER NORMAL GAS FUELING, CAR IS STATIONARY, FUEL METER REGISTERS MORE GAS IN TANK THAN PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE. I FILLED UP THE TANK AND METER SHOWS OVER 400 MILES OF FUEL AVAILABLE. TYPICALLY IT SHOULD BE AROUND 330 ON A FULL TANK. ALSO, WHILE DRIVING MY MPG METER FLUCTUATES RAPIDLY FROM 7 MPG TO 60 MPG. I SEE ON JEEP FORUMS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEPS. VERY UPSETTING CONSIDERING ALL OF THE RECALLS ALREADY FOR THIS MODEL JEEP. FUEL GAUGE REPAIR ESTIMATED AT $1400 !! (DEPENDABLE JEEP - RESEDA, CA.)
PAINT BUBBLING ON THE EDGE OF THE HOOD
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS HAVING PAIN IN HIS NECK. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST HAD DEPLOYED IN MAY OF 2018 AND THE HEADREST WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER REEDMAN-TOLL CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF JENKINTOWN (140 OLD YORK RD, JENKINTOWN, PA 19046 215-690-3770) WERE THEY SAID SINCE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED THE COST OF THE REPAIRS WERE THE CONTACT'S RESPONSIBILITY. THE WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE MANUFACTURER AND ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD CALL BACK AFTER A DIAGNOSTIC WAS COMPLETED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
MY 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WAS LESS THAN 6 YEARS OLD AND WITH 50,000 MILES ON IT IN JULY OF 2020... THE DRIVER SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF. I WAS IN THE DRIVER SEAT TALKING TO MY SON WHO WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, AND WE WERE WAITING FOR SOMEONE. MY HEAD WAS SUDDENLY SNAPPED FORWARD AT THE SAME TIME A LOUD BANG OCCURRED. I WAS SHOCKED BY THE INCIDENT AND REALIZED HOW LUCKY I WAS THAT I HAD NOT BEEN DRIVING, AS THIS SURELY COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. AT THAT POINT, THE CAR WAS VIRTUALLY UNDRIVEABLE AS IT PUSHED MY HEAD SO FAR FORWARD. I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER TO HEAR THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THIS DEFECTIVE SITUATION. I THEN REALIZED MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, AND YET CHRYSLER HAS DONE NOTHING TO RECALL THIS. I THINK THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, MADE WORSE BY THE FACT THAT THEY OBVIOUSLY KNOW THIS AND STILL ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING TO REMEDY IT.
DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WILL NOT RETRACT. DOES NOT FUNCTION AS SHOULD TO KEEP DRIVER SAFE IN EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. JEEP HAS APPROX 50,000 MILES ON IT. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN ISSUE OCCURRED. DRIVER PARKED AND REMOVED SEAT BELT. SEAT BELT WOULD NOT RETRACT ANY LONGER. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED AS OF IN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING. THE HEADREST STRUCK THE BACK OF MY WIFE'S HEAD. WE WERE DRIVING ON A SMOOTH SIDE STREET IN A NEIGHBORING GOING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. NO BUMPS OR OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS PRESENT.
3.6 L LEFT SIDE, CYLINDER NUMBER TWO MISFIRE BAD VALVE GUIDES & VALVE SEAT. CONFIRMED
THE ACTIVE HEAD REST ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DEPLOYED WITHOUT ANY CONTACT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY. THIS HAS BEEN OFTEN DESCRIBED ALL OVER THE INTERNET, AND INSPECTION SHOWS THAT THE PLASTIC HOLDING THE RETAINING PIN IN PLACE CRACKED AND BROKE. THIS IS ALSO OFTEN DESCRIBED.
DRIVERS SIDE SEATBELT SUDDENLY NO LONGER RETRACTING. APPEARS TO BE DUE TO A CRACKED BELT GUIDE. JEEP DEALERSHIP QUOTED $900+ FOR REPAIR AND ANOTHER LOCAL SHOP QUOTED $600+ - REPAIR REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE BELT ASSEMBLY. I'VE SCOURED THE INTERNET AND HAVE FOUND A MASS OF OTHERS WHO HAVE REPORTED THE SAME ISSUE DATING BACK SEVERAL YEARS. THIS SHOULD ABSOLUTELY BE AN OPEN RECALL - I CANNOT LEGALLY NOR SAFELY OPERATE MY VEHICLE AND THE REPLACEMENT COST IS ASTRONOMICAL BEING OUT OF WARRANTY. HELP!
WHILE SITTING IN A PARKED CAR, NOT IN MOTION, THE PASSENGER HEADREST BURST OPEN. THERE WAS NO CRASH, NO MOVEMENT, NO CAUSE FOR IT TO HAPPEN. MY DAUGHTER WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THIS BURST FLUNG HER HEAD FORWARD AND CAUSED NECK PAIN. IT WAS COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED AND OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I AM WORRIED THAT THIS MAY HAPPEN TO THE DRIVERS HEADREST WHILE I AM DRIVING AND CAUSE A CRASH FROM THE JOLT. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL AND REPAIR THIS ISSUE. I AM IN FEAR DRIVING MY CAR THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN TO ME WHILE DRIVING.
WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION, CAR RUNS ROUGH, HESITATES, SOMETIMES BRAKES ARE SLOW TO REACT. WHEN STATIONARY CIRCUITS SHORT FOR REMOTE START, OUTLETS AND OPERATING BACK LIFT. P0013 CODE IS ON THIS VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE IS DEMONSTRATING THE SAME FUNCTIONS AS THOSE OTHER JEEP VEHICLES THAT WERE RECALLED.
THE RIGHT SIDE CYLINDER HEAD REQUIRED TO BE REPLACED AND OIL PUMP.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: I AM A SRT OWNER WHO LOVES HIS TRUCK, BUT NOT HAPPY WITH THE DESIGN OF THE 6.4 HEMI ENGINE. AS ONE OF THE HIGHEST COSTING JEEPS IN YOUR LINE UP I WOULD ASSUME I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH IT AFTER 77,000 MILES. UNFORTUNATELY, MY ENGINE HAD LIFTER FAILURE WHICH DESTROYED MY ENGINE. THIS HAPPENED ON THE THROGGS NECK BRIDGE WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH I'VE FOUND HUNDREDS OF OTHER SRT OWNERS SUFFERED THE SAME PROBLEM INCURRING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IF THEY DIDN'T BLOW THEIR ENGINE FROM THE FLAW OF THE DESIGN OF THE ENGINE. AT THIS POINT HOW IS THERE NOT A RECALL? DOES IT TAKE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT BECAUSE THIS IS UNHEARD OFF. COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED AND WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER JEEP LET ALONE RECOMMEND BUYING ANYTHING FROM JEEP CHRYSLER FIAT. 7/2020 lifters and cam failure @65k miles. 4+ weeks dealership did repairs. They never disclosed the major engine repair or gave me any paperwork while I waited to pick up this jeep after I purchased it. 8/2020 lifters and cam repaired. 19 miles & 1 day spun crankshaft bearings & damaged cylinder walls. 1.5 weeks for dealership to get a new Mopar 6.4 Hemi long block vvt mds engine. 8/2020 new Mopar long block 6.4 hemi installed at dealership. paid $2k since I didn't know about the dealerships concealed major repairs. 8 dealership and 3 penzoil. All (0w40 penzoil ultra-platinum) Dealership maintained & repaired pads/rotors..Waterpump..headlight bulbs and some other minor things. 10/2023 38k miles later the new engine had lifter and camshaft failure. Dealership said the 60/100k warranty I paid for with the previous mopar long block engine purchase was not activated ànd they had no record of it other then the work order/repair bill I have, with start date & miles and end date & miles And deductible. Jeep customer care said my jeep was imported from Canada and is void of any and all parts warranty. So that's why dealership couldn't register my jeeps engine warranty. Sale person said the jeep was USA built spec but it's a Quebec Canadian build spec imported into USA. I got the original window sticker downloaded its French & metric. So no warranty. Fraudulent sale of a gray market import with no disclosure of the major issue they tried to repair while I waited for my jeep. I already purchased it $37k but was waiting on them to prep it for sale and deal with my trade in. Low mile 2013 dodge charger RT max AWD with every option and dealership maintained. I filed a complaint with NHTSA for defects and another for the Fraudulent concealment of known a major engine failure along with concealment of repair attempts/defect though BBB, Google and consumer car complaints. I'm retaining an auto dealership fraud/consumer protection attorney to file against Feldman Automotive Group

ON 6/26/2020 I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, I HEARD A LOUD POP AS IF SOMETHING HIT MY CAR SOMEWHERE BUT I HAD NOT DRIVEN OVER ANY ROAD DEBRIS OR HIT A POTHOLE NOR WERE ANY OTHER VEHICLES AROUND. I LOOKED IN THE AREA WHERE I HEARD THE NOISE AND SAW THAT THE HEADREST OF MY PASSENGER SEAT HAD POPPED APART. AFTER PULLING OVER, I SAW THAT SOMETHING INSIDE HAD COME UNDONE AND THERE WAS NO WAY TO CLOSE IT BACK. I EVEN STOPPED INTO A DEALERSHIP WHERE I THIS WAS CONFIRMED AND ALSO TOLD THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. I WAS THEN QUOTED $634 FOR A REPLACEMENT. THAT OF COURSE DOES NOT REPLACE THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST, WHICH CAN HAVE THIS ALSO HAPPEN AT ANYTIME. NOR, WAS I ABLE TO BE TOLD IF THE ISSUE HAD BEEN REPAIRED IN THE REPLACEMENT PART I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE OUT OF POCKET AS THIS IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. I AM TRYING TO ATTACH PICS BUT IT SAYS THE FILE IS TOO LARGE.

I WAS ABOUT TO START DRIVING AND THE PASSENGER HEAD REST POPPED OPEN. MY HUSBAND LOOKED INTO THE MATTER AND HE FOUND THAT IT IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE FOR THE HEAD RESTS TO "POP" OPEN. THE SOUND IS VERY LOUD AND SCARED ME. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING OR IF MY CHILD WAS IN THE SEAT WHEN IT HAPPENED. IF IT IS SO COMMON, WHY HASN'T THIS BEEN RECALLED? UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE PLASTIC PIECE HOLDING THE THING TOGETHER BROKE. WE FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS COMMON AS WELL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. *TR
I WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, WE WERE TRAVELING ABOUT 40 MPH AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN WE HEARD A LOUD POP, AND MY HEAD FLEW FORWARD. MY HEADREST HAD POPPED OPEN!! WE WERE NOT IN A COLLISION, NOT AT A STOP, WE WERE DRIVING!! *TR
OUR CAR WAS UNABLE TO START AND THOUGHT THE KEY FOB BATTERY WAS FAULTY. WHEN THE KEY FOB WAS REPLACED THE ELECTRONICS IN THE CAR WENT COMPLETELY HAYWIRE AND THE CARE WAS UNABLE TO MOVE OR START BUT THE RADIO WAS ON, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE ON. WE THEN TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED FOR A TOW. THE CAR THEN STARTED AND WAS ABLE TO BE DROVE FOR SEVERAL MILES. LATER IN THE DAY THE CAR AGAIN WOULD NOT START OR ABLE TO BE OPENED. THE CAR WAS TOWED AND THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE SHIFTER WAS FAULTY. THEY HAVE NOW REPLACED THE SHIFTER TWICE. THE FIRST TIME THE SHIFTER WAS REPLACED THE MECHANIC BROUGHT IT TO ME AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET IT OUT OF DRIVE AT THE DEALERSHIP. THEY IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT BACK TO REPAIR IT AGAIN. THEY REPLACED THE SHIFTER AGAIN. I DROVE THE CAR HOME AND THEN STARTED THE CAR WITH THE REMOTE START, GOT IN THE CARE AND RECEIVED THE MESSAGE THAT THE SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE SERVICED. I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALER. *TR
FRONT PASSENGER ACTIVE-HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING (JUNE 21, 2020). NO COLLISION, IMPACT OR NOTICEABLE EVENT TO CAUSE ITS DEPLOYMENT. I WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON A STRAIGHT AWAY WHEN IT ACTIVATED. BY "ACTIVATED" I MEAN THE HEADREST SHOT FORWARD AN UP A FEW INCHES AND REMAINS EXTENDED AND SEEMINGLY UNSAFE. THANKFUL NO ONE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHEN IT DEPLOYED AS IT COULD HAVE INJURED SOMEONE.

ELECTRIC SHIFTER. WAS DRIVING GETTING ON A BRIDGE GOING ABOUT 40MPH, SHIFTER WENT INTO 2ND GEAR. IT WAS VERY STARTLING, THE RPM NEEDLE WENT PRETTY HIGH AND I WASN'T GETTING ANY SPEED, I HAD TO PULL OVER AND SHIFT IT BACK INTO 'DRIVE' VERY SCARY JUST BOUGHT IT TODAY. *TR

I WAS PARKED IN A HOSPITAL PARKING LOT FOR OVER AN HOUR AND THE HEAD REST ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR FLEW OUT AND SMACKED MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE HEAD. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY HEARD A LOUD POP. I THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD SHOT AT MY CAR. MY HEART WAS RACING AND I WAS TERRIFIED. I CONTINUED DRIVING AND REACHED MY HOME. I GOT OUT TO INSPECT MY VEHICLE FOR ANY DAMAGE AND NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SEAT HEADREST HAD POPPED OUT. LUCKILY I AM SHORT SO MY HEAD DOES NOT REACH THE HEADREST. IF I WAS TALL ENOUGH TO REACH THE HEADREST THE IMPACT FROM THE HEADREST POPPING OUT WOULD HAVE LIKELY CAUSED INJURY AND POSSIBLY A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL GRINDING SOUND AS THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED HOWEVER, AFTER THE FAILURE THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO RIVERDALE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (5869 BROADWAY, THE BRONX, NY 10463) HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DECLINED TO PAY THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 118,000.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE OIL COOLER FILTER HOUSING FRACTURED AND CAUSED AN OIL LEAK. THE REPAIR WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.

THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT LAG IN THROTTLE RESPONSE SINCE THE EMISSION RECALL WAS COMPLETED. SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE BEEN NEARLY HIT FROM BEHIND OR HIT BROADSIDE BY CROSS TRAFFIC. THIS HESITATION DID NOT EXIST PRIOR TO THE EMISSION RECALL 'FIX'.

DURING THE WEEK OF JUNE 07, 2020 THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE "ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT" SYSTEM IN THE HEADREST POPPED OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNOCCUPIED. UPON INVESTIGATION THE DEALERSHIP NOTIFIED US THAT A REPAIR WAS PERFORMED UNDER THE RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE IN 2015. GIVEN THAT THE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNOCCUPIED AND PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY, WE FEEL UNSAFE UTILIZING THE VEHICLE WITH THE HEADREST INSTALLED ON THE DRIVERS SEAT EVEN THOUGH THE RECALL WORK HAD SUPPOSEDLY BEEN PERFORMED 5 YEARS AGO. *TR
