THE DRIVER SEAT BELT WILL NOT RETRACT, IT STOPPED WORKING FOR NO REASON.. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WILL COST OVER $500.00 TO REPAIR. I DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY TO REPAIR IT, THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, THIS CAR IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM. *TR
THE ACTIVE HEAD REST WENT OFF WITHOUT BEING IN AN ACCIDENT (PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY). THE PASSENGER SEAT HEAD REST POPPED OUT IN 2019 AND HAD TO BE FIXED (WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND JEEP WOULD NOT REIMBURSE ME DUE TO THE 4 YEAR OLD CAR BEING "TOO OLD") AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE POPPED OUT THIS WEEKEND (APRIL 11, 2020). WE CANNOT RESET IT AS THERE IS A TINY PLASTIC PIECE THAT BROKE OFF AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN (APPROXIMATELY A $600 REPAIR AT THE DEALERSHIP).

CANT BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED TO ME IN MY 2015 JEEP SRT ALSO TODAY! WHY DOES THIS DEFECT GO WITHOUT A RECALL FOR ALL JEEP OWNERS? WHILE DRIVING TO DROP MY DAUGHTER OFF TO HER MOMS, MY PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND GETS SMACKED I THE BACK OF HER HEAD! STARTLED HER FOR A SECOND AND SAYS SHES STILL FEELS LIKE SHES GOT A HEADACHE FROM IT. THANKFULLY THIS DIDNT HAPPEN WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING BECAUSE THAT DEFINITELY COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN MAJOR ACCIDENT CAUSING INJURY OR DEATH! I AM THE SECOND OWNER ON THIS JEEP SO I HAVE NO WARRANTY! I INSPECTED THE HEADREST WHEN I GOT HOME TO FIND THE PLASTIC TABS THAT HOLD THE METAL ROD FROM DEPLOYING THE HEADREST ARE BROKEN WITH THE ROD STILL IN PLACE LIKE IT NEVER WENT OFF. READING ALL THESE COMMENTS I CERTAINLY HOPE JEEP WILL ACCOMMODATE REPAIR WITHOUT CHARGE BECAUSE THIS SEEMS TO HAVE HAPPENED TO MANY JEEP/CHRYSLER VEHICLES!
MY TRUCK HAS 57,000 MILES ON IT AND THE RACK AND PINION SYSTEM IS LEAKING FLUID FROM BOTH BOOTS AND NEEDS REPLACING
THE DASH BOARD UPPER LEATHER IP IS DE-LAMINATING OR SEPARATING, RESULTING IN REDUCED DRIVER VISIBILITY.
DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST ACTIVATED FOR NO REASON - NO ONE WAS IN THE CAR AND IT WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. WOULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. MAY HAPPEN TO THE OTHER HEADREST WHILE A PASSENGER IS IN THAT SEAT. IT CANNOT BE PUT BACK TOGETHER AS THE LATCH BROKE EITHER BEFORE (CAUSING IT) OR DURING ACTIVATION AND THE HEADREST MUST BE REPLACED AT THE COST OF THE OWNER (MORE THAN $700). DEALER SAID A STANDARD HEADREST WITHOUT THIS FUNCTION IS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO DRIVE IT WILL JUMP BACK TO PARK AND WILL NOT ENGAGE DRIVE TELLS ME TO PRESS BRAKE AND SHIFT TO DRIVE THIS WILL NOT WORK, I HAVE TO PUT CAR INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE TO ENGAGE DRIVE, HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES TWICE THIS WEEK,DEALER SAYS COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM, I SINCE FOUND OUT THAT TOW TRUCK DRIVERS KNOW TO PUT IT IN FOUR WHEEL DRIVE MODE, ALSO A LOCAL AUTOMATIC CARWASH WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS MODEL OF JEEP I WONDER WHY, THIS HAPPENS WHEN VEHICLE IS PARKED AND ONE TIME THE CAR WAS BEING MOVED AND WAS RUNNING AND IN PARK
PASSENGER HEADREST EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, LUCKILY NO ONE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IMPACTED BY ANY OTHER VEHICLE NOR HAS IT BEEN IN ANY CRASH. SAFETY MALFUNCTION THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO PUT RESET THE HEADREST, REP IS STATING THAT I NEED TO BUY A NEW HEAD REST EVEN THOUGH ITS A MALFUNCTION. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT CAN BE DONE TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE
THE HEADREST OF THE DRIVER'S EXPLODED AND SHOT FORWARD WHILE SLOWLY DRIVING FORWARD AND INJURING THE NECK OF THE DRIVER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IMPACTED BY ANY OTHER VEHICLE, BUT THE HEADREST SAFETY FEATURE MALFUNCTION CAUSING INJURING.
AT A REGULAR OIL CHANGE SERVICE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS AN ENGINE OIL COOLER LEAK FOR A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH LESS THAN 58000 MILES ON IT. NO WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. DEAL REQUESTED TO HAVE IT REPLACED BECAUSE IT'S DANGEROUS DRIVE. *TR
CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE KEEPS POPPING UP. WENT TO 2 MECHANICS TO GET IT FIXED. REPLACED THE COIL AND SPARK PLUGS. GOT IT CHECKED AGAIN SAID IT'S FINE AND NOTHINGS WRONG BUT IT KEEPS MISFIRING.
I WENT IN TO HAVE A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND FOUND OUT THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY RACK AND PINION. MY JEEP IS A 2015 GRAND CHEROKEE WITH LESS THAN 45,000 MILES. THE PRIMARY USE OF THE VEHICLE IS JUST GETTING BACK AND FORTH TO WORK AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN DRIVEN OFF OF A PAVED ROAD. THIS IS NOT A FAILURE THAT SHOULD BE INCURRED THIS EARLY ON IN THE JEEPS LIFE WITH AN OWNER THAT IS ONLY DRIVING IT CASUALLY.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND IT WILL NOT START WITH REMOTE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OVERLAND. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STAND STILL, WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST AIR BAG DEPLOYED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HEAD, NECK AND BACK INJURIES. THE CONTACT STATED SHE DID SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION AND HAD SEEN A CHIROPRACTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AS OF YET. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 14,000.
THE VEHICLE ENGINE HAD A CLICKING/TICKING NOISE FOR WELL OVER A YEAR. WE BROUGHT THIS ISSUE UP WITH THE SERVICE DEPT AND WERE TOLD IT WAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. WHILE DRIVING HOME 1 NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE STARTED TO HESITATE/STUTTER AND WE HAD A PROBLEM ACCELERATING WHILE DRIVING. WE DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR 20 MILES AT 40 MPH WITH THE HAZARDS ON I95. WE FOUND OUT FROM SERVICE THE NEXT DAY THAT THE ISSUE WAS A DAMAGED CAMSHAFT DUE TO A FAILED ROCKER ARM. ALL ROCKERS AND LIFTERS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE VALVE COVER GASKETS AND INTAKE SEALS. SINCE THE ISSUE OCCURED OUT OF WARRANTY I WAS STUCK WITH FOOTING THE WHOLE 1961.49 BILL EVEN THOUGH I BROUGHT THE ISSUE UP WITH SERVICE WHILE UNDER WARRANTY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY START, AND THE START BUTTON HAD TO BE PUSHED SEVERAL TIMES. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL WHILE DRIVING AND BACKFIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHITTEN BROTHERS CHRYSLER LOCATED AT 10701 MIDLOTHIAN TURNPIKE, RICHMOND, VA 23235, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
All the door hinges need replaced. Very difficult to open and close the doors. I called Jeeps headquarters and they gave me no info on this matter. The replaced hinges are$100 apiece. I believe this a safety concern, not bring able to open the doors easily.
MY CAR GOES FROM DRIVE, TO PARK, TO NEUTRAL OR REVERSE WITH LITTLE TO NO TOUCH OF THE GEAR SHIFTER. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, AS RECENTLY ASSUMING I WAS STILL IN DRIVE MODE, NOTED THAT THE GEAR HAD ACTUALLY SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. HAD IT SHIFTED TO REVERSE INSTEAD, MY CHILDREN AND I COULD HAVE BEEN BADLY HURT, LIKELY FOUND TO BE AT FAULT, CONSEQUENTLY ALSO FACING FINANCIAL ANGUISH. ALSO, THE GEAR SHIFTS WHILE IN MOTION, WHICH IS EVEN ADDITIONALLY DANGEROUS BEING THAT I LIVE IN A CITY WHERE THE HIGHWAY IS MY PRIMARY METHOD OF TRAVELING.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED HITTING HER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT BUT SHE HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAD HIT HER IN THE HEAD.
MY JEEP IS EQUIPPED WITH A PANORAMIC SUNROOF. UNDERNEATH THE HEADLINER, YOU CAN HEAR A TAPPING NOICE WHILE DRIVING ON UNEVEN SURFACES. THIS NOISE IS PRESENT EVEN WHEN DRIVING ON PAVED ROADS THAT HAVE SMALL BUMPS OR ROCKS. THE NOISE SOUNDS LIKE A PIECE OF THE PLASTIC OR METAL TRACK IS LOOSE, CAUSING IT TO TAP THE METAL BODY OR THE GLASS OF THE ROOF. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL CONCERNS THAT MATCH THIS DESCRIPTION WHEN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM ON JEEP THREADS AND BLOGS. IN ADDING, AFTER I CALLED THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS ISSUE, THEY SAID THAT IT WAS A COMMON COMPLAINT REGARDING THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF.
The contact's mother owns a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that his mother had previously informed him that the vehicle would independently shift into different gears without warning. The contact was also informed by his mother that the service shifter warning message had appeared on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer and was given an estimate for a diagnostic test. The contact then replaced the battery after the vehicle failed to start up as needed. A few months after the replacement, the battery failed again. The vehicle was then towed back to the dealer where they linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V240000 (Power Train); however, the vehicle was not included in the recall. The contact was also informed that the parts to fix the vehicle were on backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was already serviced prior under the recall in 2017. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
THE ACTIVE HEAD REST ON THE PASSENGER CARE DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR COLLISION AS THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER INVOLVED IN ANY COLLISIONS OR REPAIR. WENT TO THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP THAT HAS A REPAIR CENTER AND I WAS TOLD THAT THIS ITEM IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE MANUFACTURER EXTENDED LIMITED WARRANTY WHICH I PURCHASED AND WILL EXPIRE IN MARCH 2020. MY VEHICLE HAS 45K MILES AND IS A 2015 MODEL YEAR. LOOKING AT FORUMS THE ACTIVE HEAD REST ON SIMILAR VINTAGE VEHICLES ARE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND ARE INDICATED TO BE A DESIGN DEFECT WHEN A PLASTIC BRACKET FAILS COMPROMISING THE FUNCTION OF THE ACTIVE HEAD REST. CURRENTLY THE HEAD REST REMAINS DEPLOYED AND I AVOID SITTING ANYBODY ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE LINK BELOW IS NOT FROM MY VEHICLE BUT THE DEPLOYED HEAD REST ON MY VEHICLE LOOKS THE SAME.
ACTIVE HEADREST RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. NO REAR COLLISION OR OTHER ACCIDENT OCCURRED. DEALERSHIP INDICATES THE "TABS" BROKE OFF AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE RESET. QUOTED ME $816 TO REPLACE THE HEADREST. SEEMS EXORBITANT. AND SOMETHING THAT, AS A SAFETY COMPONENT, SHOULD BE THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL (VOLUNTARY OR OTHERWISE) TO BE FIXED.*DT CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED.*JB
WHILE DRIVING THE HEADREST HIT ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. I WAS DRIVING IN TOWN THEREFORE WAS QUICKLY ABLE TO STOP MY VEHICLE TO SEE WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THE HEADREST WAS DEPLOYED. I DROVE IT HOME TO SHOW MY HUSBAND & HE SAID THERE WAS AN AIR BAG THAT HAD DEPLOYED. HAD I BEEN DRIVING ANY FASTER I COULD HAVE VERY WELL WRECKED MY CAR, AS I THOUGHT AT 1ST SOMEONE WAS IN MY BACK SEAT. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND A RECALL ON THE HEADREST BUT HAVE SEEN RECALLS ON EARLIER YEARS. PLEASE ADVICE ME WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS. THE JEEP DEALERSHIP SURELY WILL REPLACE THE HEADREST? THANK YOU
CRACKED CYLINDER #6 HEAD.
HEARD TICKING COMING FROM ENGINE SHORTLY AFTER ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. BROUGHT THE CAR IN, AND WAS TOLD I HAD TO HAVE INTAKE & EXHAUST CAMSHAFT & LIFTERS REPLACED. HAD REPAIRED, A WEEK LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. GOT A P0456 CODE, BROUGHT IT IN AND AT THIS POINT THEY SAID I NEEDED TO REPLACE EVAPORATIVE PURGE VALVE. DID THAT, A WEEK LATER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN. NOTHING CHANGED IN THE CAR WHEN THE LIGHT GOES ON, IT JUST COME ON AND STAYS A SOLID YELLOW UPON STARTUP
THE PASSENGER ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT ACTIVATED JUNE 2019 ON MY JEEP GC DUE TO THE PLASTIC TABS ON THE HEADREST THAT HOLD THE METAL PIN IN PLACE BREAKING. THE PIN WAS STILL HELD BY THE SOLENOID AS IT NEVER ACTIVATED. THE DESIGN OF THIS HAS CONSTANT SPRING TENSION ON THE PIN AND SMALL PLASTIC TABS FASTENING IT TO THE HEADREST. BOTH SIDES BROKE ACTIVATING THE HEADREST. I FIXED THAT ONE NOW TODAY THE DRIVERS SIDE HEADREST FAILED THE SAME WAY. LUCKILY IT BROKE WHILE THE CAR WAS SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT NOT WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ON ONLINE JEEP FORUMS. I AM NOT EXPECTING ANYTHING TO COME FROM THIS BUT WANT TO FORMALLY DOCUMENT THIS IN HOPE OF PREVENTING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE HEADREST DESIGN IS SIMPLE IN FORM; HOWEVER, THE MATERIALS USED LACK THE STRENGTH TO RETAIN THE CONSTANT SPRING TENSION LONG TERM. A SIMPLE METAL BRACKET WOULD ALLEVIATE THE STRAIN ON THE PLASTIC TABS. I HAVE PHOTOS IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM.
2015 GRAND CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS EGR SYSTEM SAFETY RECALL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD WITH AN OPEN RECALL THAT HAD NO AVAILABLE REMEDY. THE VEHICLE IS NOT BEING USED. *JS
MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS 85,820 MILES & THE RADIATOR WAS FOUND LEAKING WHEN BROUGHT IN FOR A ENGINE CODE INDICATING THE THERMOSTAT WAS BAD. THE THERMOSTAT WAS REPLACED ($130.00 PART) AND THEN THE CHRYSLER DEALER TOLD ME THE RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MY DEALER MENTIONED THIS HAS BEEN MORE COMMON WITH JEEPS AND THEY NOW KEEP THE RADIATOR IN STOCK. IT COST JUST UNDER AN ADDITIONAL $900.00 TO HAVE THE RADIATOR REPLACED. IF SO MANY JEEP'S ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WHY HAS A RECALL NOT BEEN ISSUED. I HAVE NEVER HAD A RADIATOR FAIL IN ANY OF MY VEHICLES SO SOON. IS THIS NOT JUSTIFICATION FOR A RECALL? I WOULD THINK OWNERS SHOULD BE NOTIFIED (AHEAD OF TIME) OF THIS POTENTIAL FAILURE IF INDEED IT IS THIS COMMON AN OCCURRENCE.
THE FAN FOR HEAT AND AIR CONDITIONING SUDDENLY QUITS WORKING. THE FAN MOTOR MAKES A ROARING NOISE. THE WIPERS WILL ONLY WORK ON HIGH. OUR JEEP ONLY HAS 60K. WE HAVE ALREADY HAD AN OIL LEAK AND HAD TO REPLACE THE WATER PUMP. ALSO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON CODE SAYS IT'S AN EXHAUST LEAK. WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE OVER ALL QUALITY.
WHILE DRIVING ON A PUBLIC ROADWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND TURNING INTO A FUELING STATION, I WAS STRUCK IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD BY THE DRIVER SEAT HEADREST PROPULSION SYSTEM. THE HEADREST IS NOW IN A DEPLOYED POSITION. I AM UNABLE TO COLLAPSE IT BACK. IT CAUSED ME TO HAVE TO STOP OPERATING THE VEHICLE AT A FUEL STATION FOR SAFETY.
PARKED THE CAR ON A RAINY NIGHT POST A 6 HOUR DRIVE. 2.5 HOURS AFTER THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF, THE ALARM SYSTEM AND OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS BEGAN TO GO OFF INTERMITTENTLY, NOT IN THE TYPICAL ALARM PATTERN. KEY FOB AND LOCK WOULD NOT RESPOND. CAR WOULD NOT START BUT SOME ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS CONTINUED TO WORK, INCLUDING UCONNECT. FINALLY STOPPED AFTER 20 MINUTES. THE CAR THEN SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY AND WOULD NOT START. CALLED AAA AND THEY SENT OUT THE BATTERY TRUCK. AAA BATTERY VOLTMETER CHECK REVEALED AN INITIAL READ OF 10.9 VOLTS; THEN WENT TO 0.9. JUMP START WOULD NOT TAKE. CAR COMPLETELY DEAD EXCEPT FOR POWER SEATS, WHICH CONTINUED TO WORK. HAD TO TOW VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP WHO ULTIMATELY DETERMINED THAT BODY CONTROL MODULE HAD MALFUNCTIONED. SIMILAR REPORTS AND A RECALL FOR THIS BODY CONTROL MODULE SAME MALFUNCTION DUE TO WIPER BLADES ON DRY GLASS IN 2011-2014 MODELS.
I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TOWBIN DODGE IN NORTH LAS VEGAS FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. ARE USED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY SERVICE TO GET THE CAR LOOKED AT AND REPAIRED. THE MAINTENANCE REPRESENTATIVE ADVISED ME THAT THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL FOR THE OMISSIONS ON THE DIESEL ENGINE. I WAS AWARE OF THE ECO-DIESEL RECALL AND HAD DECIDED NOT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS RECALL. I WAS PREPARED NOT TO RECEIVE THE $3000 THAT DIAMOND CHRYSLER FIAT WAS OFFERING FOR CUSTOMERS TO GET THIS DONE. I ADVISE MATT THE MAINTENANCE REPRESENTATIVE NOT TO ACCOMPLISH THE RECALL.WHEN MY WIFE WENT TO GO PICK UP THE VEHICLE TO OUR SURPRISE THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED. MATT AND THE SERVICE MANAGER JESUS ADMITTED TO THEIR MISTAKE OF ACCOMPLISHING THE RECALL WITHOUT OUR AUTHORIZATION. I ASKED ROBERT TO BUY THE VEHICLE BACK FOR ME BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT ITANYMORE. HE SAID HE WOULD COORDINATE WITH DAMIAN CHRYSLER FIAT TO SEE WHAT COULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS. I WOULD LIKE SOME ASSISTANCE IN COORDINATING WITH THE MANUFACTURE OF THE VEHICLE TO GET IT BOUGHT BACK.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT LINWOOD MOTORS PADUCAH (3345 PARK AVE, PADUCAH, KY 42001) UNDER AN UNKNOWN RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL ECONOMY WAS GREATLY REDUCED AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MOVE FROM A STOPPED POSITION. ADDITIONALLY, THE THROTTLE VALVE CONTROL, REGENERATION, AND EXHAUST FILTER FULL MESSAGES DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE EXHAUST FILTER WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 92,000.
The contact owns a 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. The vehicle had a recall completed for the gear shifter in 2017. Now a total of 4 times the contact stated that while driving approximately 30-35 mph the vehicle's gear shifter would slip from drive into neutral after driving a short distance. The contact stated that they would have to pull over to the side of the road to change the gear. The contact mentioned that during this time when the vehicle's transmission has slipped into neutral the display on the dashboard would be a white line with two red dots instead of the "N" for neutral. The contact stated that the dealer was not able to identify the cause of the issue. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 11,000.
MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS 70,000 & THE RADIATOR IS LEAKING. MY DEALER & LOCAL MECHANIC TOLD ME THE RADIATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MY DEALER TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE HAD SO MANY JEEP'S IN WITH THE SAME RADIATOR ISSUES THAT THEY NOW KEEP THE RADIATOR IN STOCK. IT IS GOING TO COST $1100 TO HAVE THE RADIATOR REPLACED. IF SO MANY JEEP'S ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WHY HAS A RECALL NOT BEEN ISSUED. I HAVE NEVER HAD A RADIATOR FAIL IN ANY OF MY VEHICLES BEFORE 100,000. JEEP SHOULD AT LEAST COVER PART OF THE COST.
AT APPROXIMATELY 60,000 MILES THE VEHICLE HAD JUST BEEN SERVICED AND NEW TIRES WERE INSTALLED. WE LEFT THE NEXT MORNING FOR A VACATION. ABOUT 100 MILES DOWN THE LIMITED ACCESS HIGHWAY AND TRAVELING AT 65 TO 70 MILES PER HOUR THE DASH AND INFORMATION TOUCH SCREEN BEGAN FLASHING AND A CHIME BEGAN REPEATING. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BEGAN OPERATING AT HIGH SPEED. (IT WAS CLEAR, CALM AND ABOUT 65˚ F. DIFFERENT MESSAGES BEGAN FLASHING: ONE SAID TO STOP AND PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK, ANOTHER SAID TO KEEP DRIVING AND NOT TURN THE ENGINE OFF. WHEN ABLE TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY THE JEEP WOULD ONLY ALLOW SELECTION OF DRIVE OR NEUTRAL. IT WOULD NOT ALLOW REVERSE, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO TURN AROUND. THE VEHICLE DID MAKE IT BACK 100 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT WOULD NOT SHIFT AND LIGHTS FLASHED AND CHIMES DINGED THE ENTIRE WAY. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT AN ELECTRONIC SYSTEM ASSOCIATED WITH THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED AND WILL COST APPROXIMATELY $1,000 TO REPLACE.
THE FRONT TWO SEAT BELTS IN MY VEHICLE DO NOT RETRACT BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION. THIS IS AT ALL TIMES, ONLY SOLUTION IS TO FEED THE BELT BACK INTO THE RETRACTOR BY HAND TO LET IT REEL IN. DEALER SAID THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE.
PASSENGER SEAT HEAD REST AIR BAG DEPLOYED WHILE SITTING IN GARAGE
I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, MY HEADREST SMACKS ME IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD. AFTER LOOKING AT IT AFTER I PARKED, I FOUND OUT THE HEADREST IS A RESTRAINT SYSTEM THAT DEPLOYED. THE PLASTIC TABS THAT HOLD THE HEADREST TOGETHER WERE BROKEN. SO, AFTER DRIVING BACK HOME, I AM PULLING UP TO MY GARAGE AND THEN THE PASSENGER HEADREST BREAKS TOO.
ENGINE COOLANT LEAK. HAD TO REPLACE THE TURBO WATER FEED TUBE LOCATED UNDER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THE TUBE HAS APPROXIMATE 3" RUBBER LINE WHICH IS EXPOSED TO HIGH TEMPERATURES AND OVER TIME FAILS, REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. REPAIR COST OF $1101.72. AFTER REPLACING THE HOSE AND COMPLETING THE REPAIR, I STILL HAD A COOLANT LEAK. THIS TIME IT APPEARED TO BE THE WATER PUMP. I WENT TO THE DEALER TO GET THE PURCHASE THE PUMP AND THERE WAS A MECHANIC NOTE STATING TO CHECK THE WATER PUMP SEALS AS IT IS KNOWN TO HAVE A PINCHED SEAL WHICH CAUSES LEAKAGE. TO REPLACE THE SEALS, THE MECHANIC HAS TO REMOVE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND THE COVERS IN FRONT OF THE WATER PUMP BEFORE THE PUMP CAN BE REMOVED (LABOR INTENSIVE). UP UNTIL I HAD THE VO8 RECALL I DID NOT EXPERIENCE ANY PROBLEMS. I ALSO RECENTLY HAD A SERVICE DEF SYSTEM ALERT. WHEN I SPOKE WITH THE MECHANIC HE STATED ARE YOU HAVING COOLANT LEAKAGE AND I SAID YES. THE MECHANIC SAID IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR TURBO IS ABOUT TO FAIL. THIS IS WHEN I IDENTIFIED THERE IS A VO1 RECALL.
I HAVE A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH 49,000 MILES. IN A THREE DAY PERIOD THE TRANSMISSIONS STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS SHIFTING A TOTAL OF FIVE TIMES. IT WOULD VIOLENTLY START TO SHUDDER WHILE IN MOTION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND NEARLY CAUSED A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT. I HAD TO BRING VEHICLE TO COMPLETE STOP ON HIGHWAY AND RESTART. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PLANET JEEP IN FLAGSTAFF, AZ FOR CHECK AS IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY CANNOT RE CREATE THE ISSUE AND IF THEY HAVE TO REMOVE TRANSMISSION PAN TO INSPECT I WILL BE LIABLE FOR COST OF REPAIR. I CALLED FCA CUSTOMER SERVICE TWO TIMES AND THEY DO NOT RETURN MY CALLS. I FEEL THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT HAS POTENTIAL FOR DEATH OR SERIOUS BODILY INJURY AND AM NOT SURE WHO TO TURN TO AT THIS POINT.
ARRIVED HOME 10:15PM DRY ROADS AND WEATHER. BACKING JEEP INTO DRIVEWAY AND WENT TO FULL THROTTLE BACK TO HIT THE GARAGE STRUCTURE AND DOOR. SHIFTED TWO DRIVE TO MOVE OUT INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND WENT TO FULL THROTTLE FORWARD, ACROSS THE STREET, THROUGH THE SWALE INTO A VACANT LOT AND HIT THE AVISTA POWER TRANSFORMER BOX KNOCKING ITS OFF THE BASE AND PULLING THE 7,000 VOLT POWER CABLES OUT. JEEP THEN STOPPED AND I BACKED IT BACK INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND STOPPED. AVISTA CREW ARRIVED AND SAFED THE TRANSFORMER. RESULTING DAMAGE WAS $3,007 TO HOUSE AND GARAGE DOOR, $16,275 DAMAGE TO FRONT/BACK/UNDERCARRIAGE ON JEEP AND ABOUT $4,880 TO REPLACE THE AVISTA TRANSFORMER. CAR RENTAL NOW 60 DAYS AT $42.00 PER DAY. ESTIMATED TOTAL IS NOW $26,682.

GOOD MORNING, I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY WHEN SUDDENLY I WAS STRUCK EXTREMELY HARD ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD. SO HARD THAT I THOUGHT I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT, ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T I ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. MY HEAD AND NECK WERE HURTING FOR A WHILE, WHEN I PARKED MY VEHICLE I REALIZED THAT MY HEADREST HAD POPPED OUT. NOT SURE WHY THIS HAPPENED BUT WHEN I WENT TO RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM I NOTICED THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT AHR RANDOMLY BREAKING AND DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND HOW HARD I GOT HIT I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A CAUSE FOR CONCERNS AND AN UNSAFE CONDITION. I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE WARRANTY WOULDN'T COVER THIS NOR WAS THEIR ANY RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I DUG A LITTLE DEEPER INTO THIS MATTER AS I SAW HOW MANY COMPLAINTS THERE WERE AND SAW THAT THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM AND THE FACT THAT THERE IS A HISTORY SHOULD AT LEAST CAUSE AN INVESTIGATION.
