The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that one of the cell phone charging stations was not working and had and had turned brown in color. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Jeep app has failed to inform me of recalls in a timely manner. The Gas Buddy app linked to my vehicle VIN provided information within 24 hours of your published recall. I have checked my VIN in your app to verify that it is part of the recall. Since the battery fires can start without notice and could destroy my house and kill my family this should have been immediately sent via the Jeep app. The recall notification on the Jeep app has not been updated since 2 August 2024, also unacceptable - this should be updated at worst weekly. Sending notification by snail mail is not acceptable in the 21st century especially when there is an app and the vehicle has internet connection. The recall should also be announced on the start screen when I start my vehicle.
Hybrid powertrain control buttons are not visible, hidden behind steering wheel and turn signal switch. There are 4 buttons of similar shape and size in a single bezel - 3 control the hybrid mode and the other opens the fuel door. The is no tactile identification for the switches. Must take your eyes off the road and look under the steering wheel and turn signal switch to change hybrid mode. These modes need to be visible from the driver’s normal seating position.
Driving down a road at 50mph during daylight hours. It was sprinkling and vehicle was in electric mode. There were no cars in front of me, or behind me at the time. While my foot was on the accelerator, there was a loss of power then collision warning engaged out of nowhere with the audible beeps, flashing on the instrument cluster, and sharp braking. The incident was brief, but certainly a safety hazard as there were no indications the automated emergency braking was going to occur.
The battery was recalled due to fire risk, but FSA indicated no repairs is available, and advised driver not to charge the car, and not to park it near any structural. I contacted (1) dealer (2) Chrysler capital (3) Jeep customer service. No body can provide any solution for this matter. I would like to have my leased car returned and get compensated for the months that I have already pre-paid (20 months left).

There is a recall in place for this issue but no remedy in place or timeline. This vehicle can start on fire anytime while driving or parked. This is not reparable at the moment but JEEP FCA need to help owners who cannot drive their cars since unsafe.
Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to re-enable safety features, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer four times. They provide fix that last a week, then say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been almost a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. Here is an example forum discussion, indicating many if not all vehicles are affected: [XXX] Because this is dangerous (for settings/gauges/units to no longer be useful while driving), and it occurs randomly, I strongly believe this issue should be a manufacturer recall. I am available for any needs and have all paperwork from the four Jeep visits. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at various speeds on several occasions, the vehicle leaned to the right and then to the left intermittently. The contact observed an audible warning chime and a message to "Service Air Suspension Soon" was displayed. Additionally, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it as diagnosed that three software updates needed to be performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.
THIS RECALL HAS BEEN ACTIVE SINCE SEPTEMBER OF THIS YEAR. EVERY TIME I CALL THE DEALER THEY SAY THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN OR IF THEY WILL GET PARTS IN TO FIX THIS. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY RECALL ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN. THIS ALSO HAS PROHIBITED ME FROM PLUGGING MY CAR UP TO CHARGE AS THIS COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF IT CATCHING ON FIRE. I WOULD LIKE TO GET A TIME FRAME OF WHEN THIS MAY BE FIXED OR GET A REPLACEMENT CAR UNTIL THEN IF POSSIBLE. I UNDERSTAND IT IS THE MANUFACTURER AND NOT THE DEALERSHIPS FAULT BUT ITS A SERIOUS MATTER THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED ALREADY.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 55 - 70 MPH, there was a message that the driver’s side front headlight sensor had failed. The vehicle was taken to a body shop where the contact was informed that the driver’s and passenger’s side bumper bracket clips had slightly detached and was protruding outwardly at high speeds. The contact was able to push the clips and bumpers inwardly; however, the bumper and the clips failed to remain secured. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 58,900.
The vehicle has intermittent issues whereby it will flash several icons (a Turtle, lightning bolt) and send a error message about throttling, then completely shut down during operation. This has been ongoing since a few months after I received the vehicle. During shut down, the vehicle's power is completely unresponsive, I cannot use gas power to drive the car, it simply becomes unresponsive and non-operational. These shut downs have occurred while idling at traffic lights, while driving at low speeds on residential roads and, the past 4 experienced shut downs, on the highway. [XXX] ; [XXX] MA, [XXX], and [XXX]). These shut downs have occurred with my 7-year old in the car, causing a significant safety risk to everyone in the vehicle. The dealer has received several reports from me (which they will not document), and it has been in for repair on a minimum of 5 occasions. Each time, with one exception, the service team tells me "the codes are gone" and they can't do anything. On one occasion, the care shut down on [XXX] and I drove immediately to the dealership, whereby they reported the issued as related to the "MAP" and fixed. It is not. The car has been recalled for this exact issue, and went in for the repair, which did not fix it. The safety risk of this vehicle is far beyond acceptable, my family is at risk every time I need to drive it. I should be able to have safe use of the car I have paid a significant amount of money for. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The red wrench light keeps coming on, Hybrid system needs repair. It looses power for a short period of time, every time has been on the freeway. It makes a hugh crunch noise(transmission) and slams into gear. It is available for inspection, currently at dealership, it has been there for last week. This problem has been persistent, its been in many times for this issue. Chrysler told me they do not have a fix. It is all over the chat forums. We do not feel safe driving this car because it looses power temporarily and on the freeway. Many others are having problems with it stopping from a loss of power. It has been inspected by the dealership and in for repairs many times. This vehicle has been in the dealership on a regular basis since it was new. It has always had a power train issue, clunky and loss of power. Now it is worse and they don't have a repair. It has also had engine lights coming on and off. Had issue with having to put it in park turn off and turn back on to get it in gear. The loss of power on the freeway is the persistent issue right now. These cars need pulled off the roads until they are fixed!
Engine making thwomping sound on passenger side, only after 30 miles of driving. Must be in gear - D or R. 27k miles Jeep Grand Cherokee L Engine mounts suspected. No inspection yet because it's near impossible to recreate in a 'shop' environment. My dealer requires leaving the car for a week and they drive it for five minutes. That is not enough to get this to happen. We believe it has to do with TSB - 09-015-22 On the Jeep Forums [XXX] ), a LOT of people have this same problem. The issue is, you have to drive the vehicle about 30 miles before it appears. This is consistent with all users on the forum as well. Of course this makes it VERY difficult to pin down and near impossible to get a warranty fix since they cannot recreate it. In the TSB it mentions "If the symptom/condition is present and the mounts are not NIK AG or newer, proceed..." This means they know the old mounts are faulty by admission, yet no recall. Clearly everyone is running into this or will. Poor design, should be a recall on these parts - Engine mount. I purchased a 2022 Jeep, my miles are under 20000, I took it to the dealership and told them something was going on with the vehicle. They checked the vehicle and said nothing was wrong with it. I ended up taking it back because the situation got worse, they finally told me it was my suspension. I also told them about the recall that was over looked. They told me to pick up my vehicle with no explanation to why. I had a warranty and there was no reason for them to deny me service.
Vehicle surged forward with out touching the gas.
While driving my car on the interstate and main highways, it started wobbling back and forth worsening as it was driven further. The main body of the car began swaying left to right while still driving in a straight line. As we noticed it, luckily there was a Jeep dealership at the next exit on the interstate, so we took it straight to them and the senior mechanic stated he had "never seen anything like it" how there were multiple breaks in the metal connecting the passenger side rear knuckle joints without a known impact to the site of damage on the car, he stated "something like that should have never broken by itself without you hitting something". Nothing was or has ever been hit in this car, this piece of equipment failed on its own and put several people's life in danger, the wheel could have very well come off and caused a crash at interstate speeds of up to 75mph (the local speed limit) and surely would have caused multiple fatalities as there were multiple passengers. The vehicle has been inspected by the team at Blue Ribbon Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Sallisaw, Oklahoma and is being repaired there, and the available broken parts will be returned to me when the repairs are completed as evidence. There were no notices or warnings from the system alerting us of any issue with the suspension or any other malfunction in the car. This is a very dangerous issue if there are multiple other cars that have had this issue.
The front suspension rattles and clunks constantly as if there is loose linkage or ball joints going bad. It is happening at every speed and is worse when it is hot outside. I am concerned that something is loose and will result in a loss of control. The dealer has been unable to find the source of the loud clunking noise but says everything looks ok.
I bought a LS2 motorcycle Helmet in a local shop on 06/26/24 to be a passenger on a motorcycle ride. While removing the lining and installing a communication system I discovered the foam was cracked on the posterior area of the helmet. The edges of the polystyrene were uneven. The local shop has a NO return NO exchange policy for helmets. I returned the very next day and showed the findings to the salesperson. The helmet was broken, and I did not feel safe to use it. They took the helmet. On 07/20/24 I picked up a replacement helmet. Same brand. The salesperson stated that they contacted the manufacture company and the manufacture company concluded that I broke the helmet trying to forcefully remove the polystyrene foam, which I did not. I know the integrity of the helmet is what makes it safe. The salesperson handled me the replacement helmet and stated that she personally reviewed the helmet, and it was intact. I did not review the helmet at the shop with her before I left. After I left the shop, I checked the helmet and found the same crack on the posterior part of the foam. This time the crack does not compromise the edges of the polystyrene, like the crack on the first helmet. The safety of the helmet may not be compromised in terms of absorbing deceleration forces, but I do not feel safe to use it. I bought a different brand helmet online. The foam is not intact in 2 new helmets. I have the replacement helmet for inspection and photos of the first helmet. My safety would have been at risk if I did not remove the lining to install the communication system. I am concerned that it could be a problem in the manufacturing or shipping and handling of this product and maybe others will never know that they are using a defective product. The crack was exactly on the same area on both helmets. I sent a message to the US Distibution company.
While passing through an intersection the AEB brought the vehicle to a full stop despite no forward traffic or obstructions. Warning system lights lights for other systems (traction control, airbags, etc.) lit up in the dash. A vehicle traveling behind nearly collided in light of the unwarranted braking. After coming to a complete stop the vehicle released the brake on its own and shut off the other system warning lights. Normal operation ensued.
Issue has occurred at least 4 times: upon start, vehicle infotainment system appears in Italian language (difficult to revert to English as menu controls are now in a foreign language). Forward Collision OFF warning light illuminates on dash. Vehicle settings show all forward collision warning systems are ON. Servicing dealership has not identified any Diagnostic Trouble Codes with forward collision warning systems. Only way to reset system is dealer service via propriety manufacturer software. There have now been at least three incidents where the accelerator is pressed and the vehicle does not respond for an extended period of time, then overreacts and launches the vehicle forward unpredictably. Most recently, leaving a parking lot, I pressed the accelerator gently as I normally would, the vehicle just rolled down to the road, no power. As oncoming traffic was coming (now about 5 seconds later), I pressed the pedal further, almost to the floor, the engine engaged and launched the car forward. This has happened in traffic circles, and produces a delay long enough for other drivers to sound their horn, as my vehicle refuses to move for at least 3-5 seconds. This has resulted in many close calls when oncoming traffic is coming and my vehicle will not move as it should - and this type of incident occurs unpredictably.
A service was scheduled to repair the rear view camera visibility in which the dealership failed to complete. The recall repair performed did not fix the situation. The rear view camera still shows up as a blue screen as well as the parksense sensors not working at all. This is a huge safety issue as nothing is shown when backing up and no sensors work. This problem occurred randomly while starting the vehicle and has not worked since then.
For our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe: Vehicle failed to accelerate. The engine would kind of rev but no forward motion. This occurred after driving approximately 2 miles from my house. i had just made a right turn at a busy intersection and driven approximately 100 yards when the car would not accelerate. This occurred on a very busy street. Luckily, I was able to coast to the side of the road. After shutting the car off and starting it again, it was able to again accelerate. This was scary as my wife and daughter were in the car. It has not yet been reproduced by a dealer. There were no warning lights or messages. This seems familiar to a recall that is issued for same year Jeep Wrangler 4Xe models.
Engine got really loud but idled would got shift out of 1st gear. Happened why accelerating after stopping. Traffic was moving at 45 -55 miles past me. And I was unable to pull over. I got to the next red light. Put the vehicle in park then back into drive and was able to drive to the closest dealer. They found no trouble codes when plugging into the computer. The vehicle has not been inspected by a mechanic or scheduled . I am waiting for an appointment confirmation in July. Not warning lights are messages display on the dash when the problem occurs. The loud engine and failure to shift into gear are the only symptoms
While making a protected left turn at a traffic control signal, with oncoming traffic also turning left at the same time, the automatic emergency braking engaged. I was unable to override the AEB, and the vehicle came to a sudden, complete stop halfway through the turn. The vehicle behind almost impacted my vehicle due to the erroneous braking.
While defrosting my windshield, only the passenger side was defrosting. Both sides were set to the same temperature. I spoke to a manager at a Jeep dealer and he said his wife has the same vehicle and it also does this.
My vehicles electrical system has completely stopped working due to a software update that Jeep is applying to their vehicles. For some reason my vehicle is not up for recall for this issue.
Bought vehicle from Joe Machens Chrysler, Columbia, MO. [XXX]. The net day after a long drive out of town, the owner put vehicle in reverse to leave home and there was an issue. The vehicle sounded like it had “run over a metal garbage can.” It vibrated the floorboard as well. It happens only when the car is in reverse. It happens immediately when you try to back up. It is available for inspection on request. Safety is not an issue, the dealer could not reproduce the sound (owner left vehicle at dealer overnight. It was only inspected by the car dealer. There were no warning signs. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Vehicle immediately accelerated as I was attempting to pull out of the house garage. I pressed hard on the breaks to halt it. I then returned the gear knob to park (“P”) mode. I tried again to place the gear knob on drive and the vehicle started raving on high as if it was about to take off at full speed. I waited for a few minutes while it was on park “P” mode, with the engine still idling, and placed it in reverse “R” mode to return into the garage and the same thing happened in reverse mode. It jumped back in full speed when I gradually released the brakes. Engine was raving extremely high. I decided to shut it off and schedule an appointment with the dealership for a vehicle inspection. As is, not certain if it might do the same while out on the street driving it. Vehicle just had a recall inspection done on 4/20/2024. This is the first time the engine has done such.
Today was the second time the AEB engaged while I was driving with no apparent reason. The first was in Nov 2023 while driving on the interstate at about 70 mph. The AEB engaged, slamming the car to an almost stop, alarm blared for a moment and then the car continued operating with no apparent codes or warning lights. Today it did it again while traveling about 30 mph. I was slowing down to turn into a drive. I was still headed straight with no cars around and the AEB engaged, slamming the car to a full stop, with the alarm and the dash flashing something in red. The car then drove off fine with no warning lights or indicators on the dash. I cannot reproduce the AEB reponse. In response to the first occurrence, the dealer “flashed” the software last year. I intend to take it in tomorrow for the reoccurrence. I believe it to be a safety issue not only in that my back hurts terribly from the whiplash of a stop as sudden as hitting a wall, but because had there been a car behind me on either occasion, it is almost certain they would have had to make a dramatic and dangerous swerve to avoid it or rear ended me.
Glass sunroof panel shattered while driving on empty highway at 60 MPH. No explainable cause, e.g. no driving range nearby. The sunroof was rarely opened and was closed during the incident. There was no prior indication of failure. Noise resembled a LOUD bang. Shade prevented glass from raining down onto occupants. The noise was sudden and startled driver. Since road was empty, the incident did not cause the driver to loose control. No car behind, when chunks of glass blew off. After driving 15 miles, examination showed about 1/3 of the glass was missing. The much of the remaining glass was removed to reduce occupant risk. Shattered glass was vacuumed and can be examined but not as a pane. Next car will be driven to dealer. And possibly to insurance agent.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V132000 (Suspension, Steering) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact had not experienced a failure. The VIN was not available.
I called our dealership to schedule the repair for this recall; they indicated that parts have been back ordered and they are only getting one part per week to accomplish repairs. They have a waiting list established on which I am number 62, which at the current rate of receipt of parts, I would be waiting for about 15 months to get the recall repair completed. For a recall that could potentially cause a crash without warning, this seems like something that should be addressed more quickly than 15 months.

Sunroof Exploded outward while driving on a smooth road. This percussion of an explosion would have caused serious problems had anyone been around me. The sound alone was damaging to my ears. The sunshade was closed and kept glass from raining down on me. No objects were able to fall on my vehicle nor were there any visible vehicles in front of me nor behind me.

[XXX] I was backing out of a parking spot on the 4th floor of the parking garage at work when my car displayed an SOS on the radio monitor and then my Jeep Grand Cherokee shut off and would not restart. I then had to call parking for my job to redirect traffic because I was preventing other vehicles from exiting the garage because my vehicle was unable to restart and I had to have it towed back to the dealership in Waynesboro GA and pay $120 to have this done. i waited over an hour for a tow truck to come and it is still unclear why this keeps happening. I am afraid that the next time it happens I may loss my life. I also called the dealership and Jeep wave to see if there was a way to restart the Jeep but no one was able to assist with the request. The vehicle is really becoming a problem for me. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I am writing to provide feedback and express my concerns about the safety and reliability of my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Over the last 12 months, my vehicle has been subject to three recalls, including a severe safety recall involving the potential for the Upper Control Arm (UCA) to separate from the knuckle, and a failed rear differential. The most recent recall, announced on February 28, has been particularly troubling, as it has rendered my vehicle unsafe to drive or rent out, directly impacting my livelihood as I use this vehicle exclusively for Turo rentals. It has been over 30 days since the announcement of the recall, and I have received no indication of when the necessary repairs will be made available. A timeline for resolution exceeding 30 days for such a significant safety recall and the absence of interim support measures from the manufacturer has left me in a precarious position, both financially and in terms of vehicle safety. I am concerned about the frequency of recalls and the severity of the issues identified in such a new vehicle. Additionally, the extended period without a resolution or clear communication from the manufacturer exacerbates these concerns. I kindly request that NHTSA investigate the handling of this and previous recalls for the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L to ensure that consumer safety and communication are adequately prioritized. Thank you for your attention to these matters. I trust that the NHTSA will take the necessary steps to address these concerns and improve the recall process for the safety and benefit of all consumers. Sincerely,
The brake force will jump suddenly and fall back when the brake pedal is even maintained at a constant level while the vehicle is being braked to a stop or decelerating. This malfunctioning will lead to imprecise control of the distance to the front vehicle. Engine Wobbling when it is fully stopped with "D" gear engaged, especially when the transmission temperature comes up after a few hours of driving. It can be clearly felt that the entire vehicle is bouncing with the engine. Engine misfires when crawling after a cold start. Engine speed will fall suddenly and then back up. The vehicle will shake badly, which can cause improper reaction and improper operation of the vehicle speed. The passenger seat squeezes the center console on the right side and the plastic panel comes off, which exposes a sharp edge to the passenger's lower body. After the dealer's inspection, there is no obvious cause for this defect, passenger and center console are all in their places. The rear quarter window on the passenger side water leak. Metal rattling noise from the left front side (driver side) of the cabin when the vehicle is running on a bumpy road, especially in hot weather. Noise comes from the rear left suspension when the vehicle is decelerating.
My vehicle has an open recall (NHTSA Recall Number24V-132) which the car manufacturer has failed to remedy. I contacted them 2 times and each time they told me that part is unavailable and will contact me when ready. The first contact was March 22, 2024 when I took the vehicle for another recall. I have yet to hear from them.
Multiple instances where car will not start. Often lights flicker, get a service charging system notice, get a hybrid system offline, get a check engine light, then car battery shuts off and its dead. Has had to be towed to dealership and left me stranded multiple times.

The contact owned a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 5 MPH from a parking spot, the steering wheel became inoperable. The steering wheel failed to move. While depressing the brake pedal, it failed to respond, the vehicle became uncontrollable, and the driver crashed into a pole. There were no warning lights illuminated. There were no reported injuries. There was smoke detected, but no fire. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The local dealer was contacted and referred her to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was towed to a body shop by the insurance company. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V132000 (Suspension, Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 11,150.
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the safety risk highlighted in the open recall 24V-132. Upon reviewing the details provided, particularly the issue involving the damaged pinch bolt which may break and lead to a loss of clamp load between the UCA ball joint and the knuckle, I am gravely concerned about the potential consequences. As someone who prioritizes the safety of myself, my loved ones, and others on the road, it is distressing to contemplate the possible ramifications of such a failure. The prospect of the UCA separating from the knuckle and the wheel subsequently falling outboard poses a significant threat not only to the occupants of the vehicle but also to other road users. In particular, the thought of being in a situation where the safety of my three children, or anyone else for that matter, is compromised due to this issue is deeply unsettling. The absence of prior warning exacerbates the seriousness of the situation, as it leaves little room for proactive measures to mitigate the risk. Given these circumstances, I implore you to take immediate action to address this safety concern and ensure the prompt implementation of necessary repairs or replacements as outlined in the recall. The well-being of everyone involved is paramount, and it is crucial that swift and decisive steps are taken to minimize the likelihood of any potential accidents or injuries. I appreciate your attention to this matter and trust that you will prioritize the safety of all individuals affected by this recall.
