2 current recalls on my vehicle 68C and 78C are life threatening and the vehicle may catch on fire. Visiting the dealer today 12/6 - there is no solution for either. This vehicle is unsafe and the manufacturer is not providing any solution or alternative. I would expect either a solution/ a loaner or a buyback
I received Safety Recall 68C for my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe stating that the high-voltage battery may become damaged during normal operation and could lead to a vehicle fire. FCA instructs owners not to recharge the vehicle and states that no remedy is currently available. In addition to the recall, I am experiencing a major safety issue inside the vehicle. The rear driver-side passenger seat (directly above the high-voltage battery) becomes extremely hot during normal driving, hot enough that my family members cannot sit there comfortably. The heat is abnormal and appears to be coming from the battery area. I have small children who ride in this vehicle, and I no longer feel it is safe to transport them. FCA has no fix for the known battery defect, and the combination of internal heat from the seat and the fire-risk warning significantly impairs the safety and usability of the vehicle. FCA advises owners to avoid charging, but this makes the vehicle unusable for its intended purpose as a plug-in hybrid. I am requesting NHTSA involvement because this appears to be a serious battery overheating and potential fire hazard affecting the passenger cabin. Please investigate. I need guidance, as the manufacturer cannot repair the defect, and I am concerned for the safety of my family. If there’s no cure to this problem, please ask FCA to purchase the vehicle back from me. It’s a three year lease and I have about six months left on it.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, the part for the recall repair was not available. The contact was concerned about the vehicle catching on fire due to the unrepaired recall. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The contact was informed that parts were not available. The contact inquired about a loaner vehicle and was denied a loaner vehicle. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Vehicle Purchased 05/27/2025 6/6/2025 - 9 days after purchasing the vehicle i was left stranded in the parking lot due to the battery issues. The vehicle showed a warning stating to "Service Charging System" and the entire system locked out and the vehicle was towed to to the dealer for evaluation and was there for over a week. When I received the car back they stated it was just the battery and not the charging system/hybrid system. 12/03/25 - While driving on the freeway, warning lights started coming up and the seat belt bell started going off even though everyone was buckled. Then my power steering was disabled, the ABS system was disabled and the breaks stiffened, lane assist was disabled, the airbags were disabled, and the SOS calling, and the engine shut off. When trying to change lanes we had to use extreme force to turn the wheel and the emergency lights wouldn't engage when the button was pressed. Due to the brakes being stiff beyond reason it took us passing 3 freeway exits to slow down enough to force the car off of the road. I had my children in the car and was terrified i was going to be in a crash or worse, lose control and veer off of the road. When i was able to pull off of the freeway, I was not able to drive as the car was continuing to shut off every few feet. I had to have my vehicle towed home and they next day when driving it to the dealer it was still without power steering, the ABS system, Airbags, the brake pedal was extremely stiff and the seatbelt bells were going off even though I had my seatbelt on from first getting into the car. Myself, my fiancé and our children's live were put at risk due to this vehicle failure. I picked my car up from the dealer today 12/5/2025 and they advised this was an issue with a connector that was replaced but the entire system had to be reset. I would also like to include that the vehicle now has an open recall that has no remedy and the dealer/Mfr. have yet to provide any updates.
My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN [XXX] ) is affected by two separate federal safety recalls involving the high-voltage battery: Recall 95B / NHTSA 24V-720 and the newly issued Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741. Both recalls warn of a potential vehicle fire and instruct owners to stop recharging the battery and to park the vehicle away from structures and other vehicles due to fire risk. These warnings appear directly in the recall notices I received. Recall 95B / NHTSA 24V-720 states that the battery pack may contain cells susceptible to separator damage which, combined with internal cell interactions, may lead to a vehicle fire. Owners are advised not to recharge and to park away from structures. Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741 states that under normal vehicle operation, the high-voltage battery may become damaged and lead to a vehicle fire, again instructing owners not to recharge and to park away from structures. These are virtually identical safety defects occurring back-to-back in the same high-voltage battery system. The 68C recall states explicitly that no remedy is currently available and there is no ETA, leaving me with a vehicle that cannot safely be parked at my home, charged, or operated as intended. I am now unable to use the hybrid/electric functionality at all, despite paying a premium for a plug-in hybrid vehicle. I am forced to operate the vehicle only in degraded gasoline mode with significantly reduced functionality and safety. The ongoing fire risk, inability to recharge, and requirement to park away from cars and buildings create a daily hardship and significant safety concern for my family. This is a serious safety defect affecting the same critical system twice in less than a year, and with no available remedy the vehicle remains unsafe to charge, unsafe to park near structures, and unable to function as advertised. I am requesting NHTSA review due to repeated fire-risk recalls, lack of a repair, and the substantial ongoing safety risk. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
In the safety recall it states “Do not charge,” “Park away from structures,” “No remedy available“.
I am formally requesting immediate review and investigation into multiple unresolved safety defects involving my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, VIN [XXX] . Jeep has acknowledged a hybrid-battery fire-risk recall affecting this model, yet there has been no available remedy or repair timeline, leaving the vehicle unsafe for regular operation and posing risk to myself, my family, and others around the vehicle. Primary defect — High-voltage hybrid battery fire risk (UNRESOLVED) My vehicle falls under an active hybrid-battery safety recall involving potential internal failure of the high-voltage traction battery capable of causing thermal events or fire while parked or in motion. Despite this being a critical safety hazard, Jeep/Stellantis has: Provided no repair or replacement timeline Offered no interim mitigation beyond advising parking precautions Provided no alternative transportation or safety guarantee This leaves me with a vehicle that cannot be safely used, parked near structures, or charged, effectively removing the primary functional design reason I purchased a 4xe plug-in hybrid. Additional unresolved safety-critical issues In addition to the fire-risk recall, my Grand Cherokee 4xe has experienced: Steering component issues, including instability and safety concerns while driving Suspension-related defects, including risks tied to coil-spring recall applicability Loss of hybrid system functionality, severely limiting drivability and efficiency Multiple disruptions causing loss of use, travel restrictions, confidence in safety & reliability These combined failures demonstrate systemic integrity concerns that extend beyond the battery recall alone. Why NHTSA’s involvement is needed Because Jeep has failed to present a repair path or a timeframe — and because this defect can escalate to vehicle fire, immobilization, or sudden failure while driving — I believe there is sufficient cause for expanded review and enforcement action. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The vehicle has an active safety recall related to a potential high-voltage battery fire. The recall warns that the battery pack may contain damaged cells that could lead to a vehicle fire under certain conditions. The manufacturer instructs owners not to recharge the battery and to park the vehicle away from buildings or other vehicles due to the fire risk. The defect puts my family and others at risk because the vehicle cannot be safely charged, cannot be parked near structures, and may pose a spontaneous fire hazard. This significantly limits the ability to drive or store the vehicle normally. The issue was present before I purchased the vehicle, and the recall was active at that time. The problem has been confirmed by the manufacturer’s recall documentation. I have contacted dealerships and the manufacturer, but no remedy appointment or software update has been provided, and a replacement high-voltage battery has not been scheduled. Warning messages and restrictions were communicated through the official recall notice. There have been no repairs performed, and the safety risk remains unresolved.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the high-voltage battery failed to retain a charge after several days. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact was advised not to charge the battery. The dealer informed the contact of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V741000 (Electrical System) and 25V766000 (Engine) that included the VIN; however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact had not yet received the recall notifications. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 7,708.
It sounds like the body of my car is detaching from the frame. Like my coil springs are loose or coming out.
While my wife was driving our 2023 plug-in hybrid SUV, the vehicle suddenly lost all power steering assist. The steering wheel became extremely hard to turn and she could not safely control the vehicle. I had to verbally guide her to pull over into a very unsafe area because the vehicle became nearly impossible to steer. The failure happened instantly with no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms. The vehicle was completely undriveable. I had to call a tow truck and pay out of pocket to have it towed directly to an authorized dealer. We were forced to take an Uber home. The dealer confirmed that this model currently has multiple active safety recalls, including recalls involving high-voltage battery fire risk and potential loss of propulsion, and that they could not inspect the vehicle immediately due to limited staffing. This incident posed a significant crash and injury risk because the driver was unable to steer the vehicle with normal force. The sudden loss of steering assist created a dangerous situation on a public road and required emergency towing. The vehicle is now at the dealership awaiting inspection, and the failure can be inspected upon request.
The vehicle's infotainment system, while being used for navigation, was hijacked while driving by an advertisement. Distracted driving is the primary cause of accidents, and my vehicle made me interact with a pop-up ad while driving. My car required me to divert my attention off the road to attend to ab advertisement on the vehicle screen.
-What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Automatic breaks engaged for no reason. -How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? It could have caused someone to rear end me. -Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. -Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No -Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No
On approximately November 15th 2025, I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xE In for a routine oil change and tire rotation to Fred Martin Super Store in Barberton , Ohio. Upon completion on the service I was told that there was a recall on my vehicle and I was not to park in my garage or plug the vehicle in due to risk of fire coming from the Hybrid Battery. I immediately called the service department at Fred Martin Super Store in Barberton Ohio to see if this recall was accurate. The Service Department Rep did confirm verbally that there was a recall and again NOT TO PARK IN MY GARAGE OR PLUG THE VECHILE IN DUE TO FIRE RISK. I was told the parts were not available to fix the problem at this time. This vehicle is not safe to have on or near my property and is not functioning the way it is intended. I have contacted Jeep multiple times and filed multiple grievances to ask for a vehicle buy out or a lease termination with out penalty and have been denied. This repair has not been done or remedied in a timely manner, and is still unsafe to have or drive.
Complaint Summary: Recall 68C – High Voltage Battery. Vehicle cannot be charged safely and must be parked away from structures due to fire risk. No repair or diagnostic procedure is available. Description: I own a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ). On November 10, 2025, I was notified of Recall 68C involving a risk of high-voltage battery fire. Jeep instructed me to stop charging the vehicle and to park it away from buildings. I have fully complied, which means the EV portion of the vehicle is unusable and the vehicle’s utility is significantly reduced. My dealership stated that no repair or diagnosis is currently available, and Jeep Customer Care confirmed the same. My case (#94692611) was escalated on November 10, but I have received no update or assistance. I requested interim support (rental or goodwill compensation) because the vehicle cannot be operated as designed, but Jeep advised that no assistance can be processed until a dealer performs a diagnosis—which is impossible because Jeep has not provided one. This situation has resulted in: Complete loss of EV driving capability Increased fuel costs Inability to garage the vehicle (safety concern) Diminished trade-in, resale, and private sale value The manufacturer has provided no remedy, no timeline, and no temporary assistance, leaving me without a functional plug-in hybrid vehicle. I am requesting NHTSA review and ensure Stellantis provides a remedy plan or interim assistance for affected owners. Monday, November 3rd, 2025 In electric mode - I drove the vehicle forward out of a parking spot. The vehicle made three very large lurches over a 200 foot length of parking lot, enough to bang drivers and passengers heads hard against the head rests each with a loud clunk. Within seconds after the third lurch, the car went into gas/oil refresh mode (which transitions the vehicle from electric mode to gas mode). At that point the accelerator became unresponsive with RPMs hovering just over 1000. After multiple successive press, hold and releases of the accelerator, I took my foot off thinking I had lost all power and was preparing to shut the vehicle off. Before I could, the car began accelerating quickly forward without my foot on the accelerator. This lasted for 1 - 2 seconds before the car stopped accelerating and I was able to use the brakes to stop it. Had this not been late evening (9:45p EST) - the parking lot would have been full of pedestrians and other vehicles which would have caused a collision with other vehicles, or worse caused me to strike a pedestrian. I had no control over the vehicle. I put the vehicle in park and shut it down. After a minute, I restarted the vehicle and brought it home. The check engine light has been lit since. At this time (Monday, November 10th), the vehicle is still at the dealership (brought in Wednesday, November 5th) being investigated for this as well as the transmission (?) issue that was causing the lurching described.
This vehicle is a danger to drive, and there is no information on when they will fix it. I have taken the battery in to fix it before and it took over 2 weeks to repair, and more problems with more recalls. The engine is said that it can cause fire like the battery. This vehicle is not safe to have and continues to be a severe safety problem for me and my family, Two of the recalls right now they have no idea how to fix. It is not fair that I am paying for this vehicle and I can't even drive it.
My family went on a weekend trip the day we left town the heat was working great. The next day we noticed that the heat was on but the air coming out of the vents was not as hot as the day before. We attempted to turn the heat off and back on still blowing warm to cool air. The heating system blows cool air at times. I took the vehicle into the dealer and they said the reason we didn't have heat was due to the electric battery needed to be charged. We could not understand why the car had to be charged in order to have heat. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealer. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer.
My Jeep hybrid is under an active safety recall with no available remedy. The manufacturer has instructed owners not to charge the hybrid battery system, which means the vehicle cannot be used as designed. I am continuing to make loan payments on a vehicle whose primary advertised functionality has been disabled due to a safety defect. I have contacted Jeep/Stellantis repeatedly through their recall assistance lines and have been transferred, disconnected, or told to call numbers that do not resolve the issue. No timeline or interim remedy has been provided. The vehicle is materially impaired, and the lack of a fix poses safety concerns and financial harm to owners. I am requesting NHTSA intervention due to the absence of any manufacturer solution or support.
This is the 9th recall. All information you have but most concerning is the fire hazard and recommendations NOT to plug in the hybrid vehicle and NOT to park near any structures including in the garage in this freezing New England cold.
There has been a recall issued on the vehicles battery/electrical system for over three months and Jeep has yet to correct the issue.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the electrical charge remained at 98% for an extensive amount of time, showing no reduction in charge; however, the vehicle failed to charge correctly, and the battery charge drained quickly. The failure was intermittent. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part for the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
on 10/24/2025 my wife and daughter were in the vehicle driving to her school. My wife was on the phone with me when she stated the car was reving really high and sounded like it was going to blow up how loud it was. she was driving at about 25-30 mph when the car suddenly jerked and shut off completely, the battery light turned on and the check engine light flashed before it shut off. she was able to brake and roll to the side of the road. I had instructed her to keep her foot on the break since it was not letting her shift to park. We stayed on the phone as i contacted jeep directly and get a hold of a rep she said she was able to put it in park and she tried to turn the car on and she was able to turn it on after 10 min. She drove with the hazards on to my daughters school and dropped her off i told her park the car and don't use it until i get home. I got home on 10/26/2025 and the light was off i made an appointment with jeep for that week 10/31 and they stated they were unable to find anything in the computer for the issue that had occurred instead they saw a issue with my heating and it was pump. i have a case open with jeep and they have yet to return my call after a week of non stop calling, i emailed stelantis but they stated they cant assist has to be jeep directly. i would love some help with this as the car has been to the dealership three time for multiple issues and recalls that they stated they did and still show are not done. i have a schduled appointment for the 68c but there is no remedy yet.
On multiple occasions now the dash and nav unit have blacked out for a period of time (maybe 5 seconds) while switching from reverse to drive. Additionally, these sytems have fully rebooted while driving. This is a distraction and causes temporary loss of access to the speedometer and other vehicle data.
Event 1 – Abnormal Tire Wear / Stability Concern Date: January 6, 2026 Within approximately 3,000 miles of operation, the vehicle developed severe and abnormal tire tread wear rendering the tires unsafe for continued highway use. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealership. Intermittent vehicle electrical issues also noted. Independent tire inspections indicated the tread pattern was irregular and consistent with possible suspension or front-end control arm failure . Photographic documentation is preserved. Prior written notice of suspension related safety concerns had been delivered to the manufacturer on October 2025. This was later confirmed by an internal report that list the previous buyback history and the current conditions that align perfectly. The report is available for view. Safety ConcernPrimary concerns include: Unexpected propulsion loss at highway speed. Total electrical system breakdown causing a red turtle event during motion. Reduced braking and steering control during stall. Non restart condition in traffic. Video captures moment Severe abnormal tire wear potentially indicating suspension instability.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V576000 (Electric System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not available for two months. The local dealer was contacted, and the recall repair was performed after two months of driving the vehicle. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, and a complaint was filed. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Egine stalled 2 times on the freeway
This vehicle can create a fire. My home is at risk, other cars/structures parked near it, and people who drive the vehicle are at risk of fire. This is the 2nd time we have received notice of fire hazard for this make/model. The dealership is aware of the problems. check engine light stays on and nobody can figure out why. I cannot charge my car, park near anyone/anything, and constant fear of my car setting fire while driving it.
Since purchasing the vehicle in January of 2024 , I have had the same repeated safety issues that the dealership and Chrysler were made aware of . I was told that no other vehicles of my make and model had the same issues so I was not listened to . While driving vehicle has slammed on the breaking system for no apparent reason at different speeds. Last time this happened I was on the thruway doing 65 mph. This has happened over 10 times and has been extremely scary and upsetting. The Hybrid system alert has flashed over 30 times and the vehicle has stalled with loss of power. The transmission either jerks or there is a large lag of power -sometimes gas pedal needs to be pinned in order for vehicle to go forward. I have complained to the dealership and Chrysler about the safety issues and how the battery has not work as expected upon purchasing and all the safety issues. I have been mislead by Chrysler on the performance and use of the vehicle. I have asked for a resolution for over a year- lemon law, buy back , but I have to continue to drive an unsafe vehicle. Complaint # 1650529
Vehicle recall but manufacturer does not have a remedy and this is my only vehicle. My hybrid light came on and flashed off. Stellantis (FCA US, LLC) is recalling approximately 91,787 units of its 2022 to 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) due to a software error within the hybrid control processor that may result in a loss of drive power. An unexpected loss of propulsion could cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V576000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (Electrical System) and was repaired under recall. After the recall repair, while driving approximately 45 MPH, with the Hybrid Mode engaged, the stalled, and the message "Service Hybrid System," was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact immediately restarted the vehicle, and the warning light was no longer illuminated. The vehicle was driven without further failures. The dealer was informed of the failure and confirmed there was no fix available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted regarding the recall, and it was confirmed that there was no expected availability date for the replacement to be available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the experienced failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.
Vehicle randomly will not shift from first gear to second gear. This has caused very high rpm’s in first gear and I have almost been hit from behind each time. I must put flashers on, pull over, shut engine off and restart to clear the issue! It is Very Dangerous! It has been to the dealership to be fixed, but they have been unable to duplicate the issue
I am filing this complaint regarding my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xE due to repeated and ongoing electrical system failures that present a serious safety hazard. Beginning in April 2025, the vehicle began displaying the warning “Service Hybrid Electrical System.” Shortly after the warning appears, the vehicle will often shut down completely while in operation. I have taken the vehicle to an authorized Jeep dealership on multiple occasions. Each time, I was informed that Jeep is aware of the defect but that no repair is available, as a required software update has not yet been released. In June 2025, I escalated the issue directly to Jeep. During this time, I experienced an incident in which the vehicle lost all power and shut down on a highway, creating a significant risk of collision. Jeep representatives acknowledged the defect as a known safety concern but advised that there was no available fix. Because I cannot afford to park the vehicle indefinitely, I have been forced to continue driving it despite the dangers. Jeep has only provided one month’s car payment as a “goodwill” gesture, which in no way addresses the underlying safety hazard. In September 2025, after seeing a news report about a recall affecting this model, I contacted Jeep again. Initially, Jeep denied that a recall had been issued. Only after I provided them with the recall notice did they confirm that a recall was in effect. To date, no remedy or repair timeline has been provided. This issue has persisted for several months. Jeep has admitted that the defect is a safety concern, yet they have failed to provide a safe and operable vehicle. I, my children, and other motorists have been placed at extreme risk due to Jeep’s inaction. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate Jeep’s handling of this defect, their delay in providing a remedy, and their failure to ensure that affected vehicles are safe to operate.
UNKNOWN- the vehicle jolted and stopped when no one was in front of me thankfully no one was behind me.
I taken my vehicle to the dealership three times in less than one year, and my recall have not been fixed. An unexpected loss of propulsion can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning is what the recall is saying. this vehicle is not safe to drive, yet the dealership won't provide me another vehicle, nor buying it back. The recall number is 73C. My hybrid electrical system light comes on and my vehicle cuts off by itself when driving. vehicle can catch fire at any moment due to this recall not being fixed.
My car is a plug in hybrid and hybrid batteries have molars been replaced prematurely. This car has completely lost all power 3 times while I was driving and I had to have it towed to a Jeep certified dealer and it shat in the shop for 18 weeks. It has been in the shop 6 times and I haven’t even had it a year. It has had multiple recalls on this car and it’s still scary to drive. I don’t feel safe in it at all.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V472000 (SEATS) and 25V576000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, parts for the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal before the vehicle stalled. An unknown message about the Hybrid Mode and Gasoline Mode was displayed. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle was restarted, and the system reset independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) had failed. The vehicle was not repaired due to the part not being available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that before the vehicle stalled, there had been issues with the electrical system. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,741.
I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee hybrid. The vehicle has experienced repeated stalling and loss of propulsion while driving, including in active traffic and in a school pickup line. The vehicle has unexpectedly failed to accelerate or start, creating dangerous situations for myself, my passengers, and surrounding vehicles. The vehicle has stalled in traffic and at low speeds without warning. On multiple occasions, it lost propulsion while driving, requiring me to stop unexpectedly. One incident occurred in a school pickup line, causing traffic disruption and creating a safety risk with children present. In addition, the vehicle is subject to a high-voltage battery safety recall due to fire risk. I have been advised that the vehicle is unsafe to park in a garage, and I am concerned about the risk of fire. At this time, there is no permanent repair available for the recall. Despite reporting these issues and seeking service, the safety defects remain unresolved. The combination of stalling, loss of propulsion, and fire risk makes the vehicle unsafe to operate and unsafe to park. I am requesting that NHTSA review this matter as a safety defect involving loss of power, stalling, and fire risk.
I am submitting this complaint regarding a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that has been subject to multiple safety recalls involving the high-voltage battery system and a risk of fire or explosion. The manufacturer, Stellantis, issued safety instructions advising owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park the vehicle in garages or near structures or other vehicles due to the potential fire risk. It says "Sand from the casting process can contaminate internal engine components, leading to a catastrophic engine failure, which can result in a vehicle fire or an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of propulsion. These instructions significantly restricted the normal use of the vehicle and created serious safety concerns. I have young kids Additionally, the recall notice stated that a remedy for the defect was not available for an extended period of time. Despite the seriousness of the defect and the safety warnings issued, the vehicle remained without a repair solution for months.Jeep has now discontinued the vehicles altogether with no solution for the vehicle. Due to these conditions, the vehicle could not be safely operated or used for its intended purpose. The unresolved safety defect effectively rendered the vehicle unsafe and unusable. I am requesting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration review this matter and the impact that these unresolved safety defects have had on vehicle owners. I believe the situation raises significant safety concerns regarding vehicles that remain in use while a dangerous defect exists without an available remedy. Please let me know if additional documentation is required. I am willing to provide recall notices, written manufacturer communications, and other supporting documentation. I was in a car accident and the airbags didn't deploy. Car was declared a total loss.
After 95B recall in Late March vehicle had service hybrid electric vehicle system with red wrench. Scheduled appt and it stopped so I canceled. It showed up multiple times again so I scheduled another which was scheduled for Sept 22nd which was the soonest appt available. Statement from my husband : On September 5, 2025 I made three cross town trips while returning home on the conclusion of the third trip I merged onto interstate 94 from Sheyenne Street in West Fargo ND while merging onto the interstate from the on-ramp I was traveling at approximately 60 mph and as soon as I was on the interstate the service warning came on and there was no acceleration as a semi was approaching from behind, the service message was on for a second and went away and the notification was to step on the brake and push the start button. I was able to merge onto the shoulder, avoiding being struck by the semi, and was able to restart the vehicle once it came to a complete stop. On Saturday September 6, 2025 I contacted the dealership and explained how my husband almost got into a severe accident and the vehicle lost all propulsion and said they needed to get it in right away and they had no sense of urgency and said the soonest available was September 11, 2025. It has since been inspected and currently at the dealership Jeep has seized custody of the Jeep •I’m now paying for something you don’t have access to. •The rental they have been given is a downgrade, which is not a “comparable replacement” standard most manufacturers commit to during a stop-drive. Furthermore Jeep endangered my husband, grounded your vehicle, and is now offering you less mobility than you contracted for. That’s a breach of trust, contract, and safety obligations all in one. They continue to send me to voicemails that are full. I went in today and asked for them to provide resolution as the lease is up in 8 months and they were again supposed to update me and have not.
- Automatic Emergency breaking system unavailable - service required alert -Blind spot unavailable - service required alert - car was sold with these lights coming on. Dealership told us it was just tightening up some wires. They ended up replacing two modules. After 5 trips to the dealership the service fixed it for approximately 3 days before it came back.

Was driving approx 55 mph and the vehicle just shut off. Warning lights came on. Was unable to restart vehicle for 10-15 minutes. Once the car restarted drove it home and had roadside assistance tow it to dealership. They had car for almost two weeks and couldn’t replicate issue. They said it didn’t throw any codes either.
Backing into a parking space in reverse the vehicle all of a sudden begins to accelerate forward with the gear selector showing "R" illuminated almost causing me to hit 2 cars parked in front of me. After putting the vehicle in park and reverse again i was able to park and then the vehicle gave a "service hybrid system" warning and then stalled out. I had no issues prior to this and it seems the 95B recall had something to do with it as I had this performed a week prior. It has a stored code for " digital input crash " according to the dealer but they said it is deemed safe to drive. I don't think so.
1. Driving freeway, Lightening bolt warning, ETC came on lost power. 2. At home level 2 charging, charge to 100%. Next day EV charge down to 85% lost 15%. Car sits 3 days down to 1% EV charge. Discharging for no reason. 3. Took to dealer, check for codes. No Fix available. Dealership, took car and put me into rental. I was told unsafe to drive and told may be 2 to 3 months before fix will be available. Currently dealership has 3 other cars taken off the road. One has been there since June. All recalls had been done!
I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE in last month (July) to have the hybrid battery recall fixed. Since then, i have had the ‘service hybrid electrical vehicle system vehicle system’ with the red wrench pop up at least 3 times but would disappear after 10-15 seconds. Last Thursday (Aug 21), I was on the highway driving 70mph passing a semi when the same message came onto the screen & my vehicle shut completely off. I was able to safely get off the roadway & I turned it & back on & it cleared out. I dropped it off at the dealership this past Monday (Aug 25) & was called today & told the tech can’t get the vehicle to do it so he is unable to pull a code so they’re releasing the vehicle back to me. This is terrifying.
I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the safety of my Jeep. My vehicle has been to the Jeep dealership approximately five times for the recurring Service Hybrid System Error. Most recently, in August 2025, I received this error again along with a check engine light. Each time this error occurs, I notice that my Jeep drives differently, which raises concerns about its reliability and safety. At present, my Jeep has been at the dealership for approximately 25 days. The dealership has indicated that the issue is related to the 73C code. Despite repeated visits, the problem has not been permanently resolved. I am very concerned about my own safety, as well as the safety of others on the road, particularly because I have been informed that my Jeep is part of the 1% recall group. The ongoing malfunction makes me uneasy about driving the vehicle, and I strongly believe this presents a potential hazard. I respectfully request urgent attention to this matter and a clear resolution to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate.
