HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES TO CHRYSLER (800)247-9753 IN REFERENCE TO THE REAR END BUMPER RECALL ON JEEP LIBERTYS CAMPAIGN # 46 ACCORDING TO REPRESENTATIVES, STATED OWNERS SHOULD BE RECEIVING A LETTER IN THE MAIL END OF SEPTEMBER 2013. HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY LETTER ADDRESSING RECALL, CALLED AGAIN TODAY 10/19/2013 APPX. MTN. STANDARD TIME 11:48AM , STATED THEY ARE AWAITING APPROVAL FROM NHTS BEFORE ANY LETTERS ARE SENT TO OWNERS IN REFERENCE TO THE RECALL OF REAR END BUMPER CAUSING FIRE HAZARD ISSUES, WHEREAS THEY SHOULD BE ATTACHING A HITCH TO MAKE VEHICLE SAFER FOR PASSENGERS AND DRIVER IN CASE OF REAR END COLLISION SO VEHICLE NOT BURSTING INTO FLAMES. *TR
I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN 2013 RECALL NUMBER N46 AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 13V-252. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED FURTHER NOTIFICATION TO TAKE MY JEEP IN TO BE REPAIRED. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER WHO SAID THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION OR PARTS TO REPAIR OUR JEEPS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE....WHY HAS IT TAKEN A YEAR TO GET THE PARTS TO THE DEALERS TO FIX OUR JEEPS? WHEN FILLING THE VEHICLE WITH GAS, THE PUMP'S HANDLE WILL SUDDENLY AND FORCIBLY STOP (AS THOUGH THE TANK WERE FULL) AND GASOLINE WILL SPIT OUT OF THE FUEL OPENING, DESPITE THE FACT IT IS GALLONS AWAY FROM BEING FILLED TO FULL CAPACITY. THIS HAPPENS WITH EVERY DIFFERENT GAS STATION'S PUMP HANDLES, SO TO BE CLEAR, IT IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE PUMP OR HANDLE, OR THE INDIVIDUAL'S ABILITY TO PUMP GAS CORRECTLY; IT IS AN ISSUE WITH THE GAS LINE OF THIS VEHICLE AND THE INDICATOR OR REGULATOR OR WHATEVER PART IS DEFECTIVE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CHECK ENGINE, ABS AND THE TRACTION WARNING LIGHTS ALSO ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO THE NEUTRAL AND THEN PLACED INTO THE DRIVE. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATIONS BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SHORTLY THEREAFTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000 AND THE CURRENT 165,000.
I HAD TO GET A WINDOW REGULATOR REPLACED. THIS IS ABOUT THE FOURTH TIME THIS HAPPENS. *TR
THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT WE HAD FILLED THE TANK UP ON OUR 2006 JEEP LIBERTY SINCE WE PURCHASED IT ON JUNE 7, 2013. WHILE STANDING AT THE PUMP WAITING FOR THE TANK TO FILL UP, THE TANK STARTED OVERFLOWING WITH GAS. I HAD GAS ALL OVER ME, THE CAR, AND THE GROUND. I WROTE IT OFF AS BEING A PROBLEM WITH THE PUMP. 1 WEEK LATER I GO TO A DIFFERENT PUMP TO FILL IT UP, AND IT HAPPENS AGAIN. SO I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THAT SERVICES MY VEHICLES AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND WE TOOK IT IN FOR THEM TO LOOK AT. THEY SAID THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT JEEP WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I STARTED LOOKING ON JEEP FORUMS AND HAVE FOUND QUITE A FEW INSTANCES OF THIS SAME PROBLEM ON THE JEEP LIBERTY AND THESE PEOPLE HAVE ALSO FILED CLAIMS TO THE NHTSA. THE ONLY WAY FOR THE PROBLEM TO BE FIXED IS FOR THE TANK TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THERE IS A CHECK VALVE IN THE TANK THAT IS CAUSING THIS. THIS IS A VERY COSTLY REPAIR AS I HAVE CALLED A COUPLE OF DEALERSHIPS AROUND IN THE ARE WITH THE TANK ALONE COSTING OVER $1,400 DOLLARS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT JEEP REFUSES TO FIX. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. *TR
2006 JEEP LIBERTY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO SUSPENSION SYSTEM FAILURE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HE GRANDDAUGHTER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE STORE, HOWEVER, WHEN SHE RETURNED, THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE. WHEN SHE TRIED TO BACKUP, THE RIGHT FRONT SUSPENSION COLLAPSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE SERVICE WRITER STATED THE UNDERSIDE LOOKED RUSTY. AN INSPECTION REVEALED, THE RIGHT FRONT CONTROL ARM HAD COLLAPSED. THE BRAKE LINE AND WHEEL SPEED SENSOR WERE REPLACED. ALSO, THE SERPENTINE BELT WAS CRACKED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED.
RECEIVED IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL N46/NHTSA 13V-252 ABOUT A YEAR AGO. HAVE INQUIRED WITH THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND NOT GETTING ANYWHERE WITH THE INSPECTION OF OEM TRAILER HITCH. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THAT PARTS NOT AVAILABLE YET. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT REAR END COLLISION AND FUEL LEAKAGE. *TR
I FILLED UP MY GAS TANK AT THE GAS STATION AND THE GAS STARTED OVER-FLOWING OUT OF THE GAS TANK AFTER STOPPING THE PUMP FROM PUMPING. *TR
HAVE NOW HAD TO REPLACE ALL FOUR POWER WINDOW REGULATORS. 75,000 MILES

THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DELAY AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
THE BACK RIGHT PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE AND THE WINDOW FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR. IT HAS BEEN TAPED FOR A WHILE BECAUSE IT IS ASTRONOMICALLY EXPENSIVE TO FIX. I SEE MANY JEEPS DRIVING AROUND ALL THE TIME WITH TAPE ON THE WINDOWS BECAUSE OF THIS EXACT ISSUE. AFTER GOOGLING THE ISSUE IT IS WELL KNOWN IN THE JEEP COMMUNITY.
THIS IS THE SIXTH TIME ONE OF THE WINDOWS HAS GOTTEN STUCK ALL THE WAY DOWN. I HAVE A CHILD, AND CANNOT DRIVE WITH OPEN WINDOWS. NOT ONLY AM I WORRIED ABOUT THEFT, BUT I DON'T WANT ANYTHING FLYING INTO THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. IT IS SATURDAY, AND I WON'T BE ABLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE DEALERSHIP UNTIL TUESDAY, DUE TO THE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. I WILL MORRE THAN LIKELY HAVE TO MISS WORK BECAUSE I CAN'T DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY WITH A WINDOW DOWN, AND I HAVE TO PARK IN AN AREA THAT IS NOT GOOD. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS ADVISED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE REGULATOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,174. *TR
KEYS STUCK IN IGNITION. WOULD NOT COME OUT WHICH LEFT LEAVING MY VEHICLE UNSAFE TO LEAVE UNATTENDED. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SHIFTER AND SOMETHING IN THE IGNITION. I WAS TOLD THIS HAPPENS OFTEN IN THIS PARTICULAR MODEL. TOTAL REPAIR WAS $699. *TR
WHEN FUELING THE JEEP, THE JEEP OVERFILLS EVERY TIME, EVERY PUMP. I CONTACTED JEEP BUT THEY REFUSE TO HELP FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD TO THE PERSON FUELING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS SAID IT HAS TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK. *TR
THE BALL JOINTS ARE GOING BAD. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT MY VIN NUMBER ISN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. HOWEVER, IT'S THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM THAT IS COVERED BY THE RECALL. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. JEEP REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WHEN CONTACTED. HOW DID THEY GET AWAY WITH SUCH A NARROW RECALL? *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STOPPED DEVELOPING POWER. WIDE OPEN THROTTLE WAS APPLIED, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 30MPH UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING EXTREMELY ROUGH AND WOULD NOT GENERATE POWER. I SHUT IT DOWN, WAITING A APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE WHERE IT RAN NORMALLY. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 5 TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. *TR
KEY WOULD NOT RELEASE FROM IGNITION AFTER PARKING. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP. I ADVISED DEALERSHIP, POSSIBLE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY AND SHIFT INTERLOCK CABLE PROBLEM, PER OTHER COMMENTS? I JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM THEM AND THEY ADVISED THERE WAS A PIECE BROKEN IN STEERING COLUMN AND THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN. PROBLEM 1 IS THERE IS A SUPPOSED NATIONAL BACK ORDER WITH AN UNDETERMINED DATE OF WHEN THEY WILL GET IT IN. 2ND ISSUE, IS THEY HAD NO SOLUTION ON HOW TO GET KEY OUT OF IGNITION SO I COULD PROPERLY SECURE MY JEEP FROM THEFT OR HELP WITH ANY SOLUTION TO THIS OTHER THAN....LOCK AND UNLOCK WITH SPARE KEY, SINCE IT IS KEY FOB THAT IS IN THE IGNITION. 3RD ISSUE............THE COST $1240.65 WITH PARTS AND LABOR..........I WILL BE CHECKING THIS OUT WITH OTHER SERVICE CENTERS AND REPAIR SHOPS TO MAKE SURE BEFORE I CONSENT TO ANY REPAIRS WITH ANYONE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED, THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER'S SIDE GLASS FELL INTO THE DOOR PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATORS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE LATER OCCURRED ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
VEHICLE OVERFLOWS WHEN BEING FILLED. ON 6 MAY VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR CORRECTION. DEALER REPLACE EVAP NVLD AND CANISTER ($446.00). PROBLEM NOT SOLVED. TAKEN BACK TO DEALER,STILL NOT REPAIRED. CALLED CHRYSLER(1-800-853-1403) AND WAS INFORMED NO PROBLEMS REPORTED. CHECKED ON INTERNET AND INDIVIDUALS ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM. SOUNDS LIKE A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE FIXED DUE TO A FIRE HAZARD AND NOT HAVE CUSTOMER PAY. *TR
HAD LOWER BALL JOINTS REPLACED DUE TO RECALL NOTICE. THE UPPER BALL JOINTS ARE DETERIORATING JUST LIKE THE LOWER BALL JOINTS. THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM THAT THE LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE EXPERIENCING, THE UPPER BALL JOINTS ARE ALSO DOING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE JEEP LIBERTY HAS SERIOUS SUSPENSION PROBLEMS. WHEN I SPOKE TO THE JEEP/CHRYSLER COOPERATION, THEY WERE UNWILLING TO ASSIST IN FIXING THE PROBLEM. WHEN COMPLETING RESEARCH, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2006 JEEP LIBERTIES. JEEP FAILS TO RECOGNIZE THAT THE UPPER BALLS JOINTS ARE SUBJECT TO THE SAME CORROSION PROBLEMS AS THE LOWER BALL JOINTS. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE JEEP COMPANY FOR THE LACK OF ATTENTION AND ASSISTANCE FOR SUCH A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND WE WENT TO ROLL DOWN THE REAR WINDOW AND IT FELL INTO THE DOOR AND WOULDN'T GO UP OR DOWN. WHEN WE STOPPED TO ATTEMPT TO FIX THE WINDOW THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL. *TR
FUEL OVERFLOW AT THE GAS PUMP. THE PUMP WILL NOT SHUT OFF WHEN TANK IS REACHING THE FULL POINT, THEREFORE SPILLING FUEL ON THE CAR, GROUND AND OFTEN THE PERSON PUMPING GAS. *TR
CONTINUED ISSUES WITH WINDOW REGULATORS. THIS IS THE FORTH TIME THE SAME PART HAS BROKEN. THE TWO REAR WINDOWS HAVE BROKEN AND BEEN FIXED 3 TIMES AND NOW THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR. DURING ALL OF THE INCIDENTS WE HAVE BEEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE. JEEP KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND HAS MANY MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT. MOPAR KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND HAS CHANGED MATERIAL THAT THEY PART IS MADE OUT OF. *TR
SINCE I HAVEN RECEIVED MY JEEP LIBERTY RENEGADE 2006 MODEL. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE NOTICED THAT EVERYTIME WE WOULD FILL UP THE GAS TANK. THAT LOTS OF GAS WOULD POUR OUT ONTO THE CAR AND THE GROUND. WE HAVE DONE INTERNET RESEARCH AND HAVE FOUND THAT LOTS OF JEEP LIBERTY OWNERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. THERE ARE VIDEOS AND THOUSANDS OF COMMENTS IN REGARDS TO THIS ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO CONTACTED THE EPA,[XXX] AND THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAD CHRYSLER ISSUE A RECALL TO FIX THIS ISSUE. HOWEVER MY VEHICLE YEAR FALLS OUT OF THE RECALL DATES LISTED. WE I SPOKE WITH THEM THEY SAID TO CONTACT YOU GUYS BECAUSE THERE IS NOT AS MANY OF MY VEHICLE YEARS TO EXPAND THE RECALL. I FEEL THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND NEED HELP WITH TRYING TO GET A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE YEAR. MY REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW STOPPED WORKING AND WOULD SLIDE DOWN UNTIL IT SLID DOWN SO MUCH I HAD TO PULL IT UP JUST FOR IT TO FALL COMPLETELY INTO THE DOOR THE NEXT DAY. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WONT FIX IT BECAUSE IT WAS MANUFACTURED BEFORE THE RECALL DATE. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND CANT DRIVE THEM ANYWHERE BECAUSE ITS TO COLD AND THE WIND IS TO MUCH. PUT THE JEEP IN PARK AND COULD NOT REMOVE KEY. HAD TO DISCONNECT CABLE TO REMOVE KEY, WITH CABLE DISCONNECTED I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT THROUGH GEARS WITH CAR TURNED OFF AND KEY OUT. HOOKED CABLE BACK UP AND KEYS STUCK IN IGNITION. *TR

THE LOWER AND UPPER BALL JOINTS ARE DETERIORATING AND CAUSE INNER WEAR ON BOTH FRONT TIRES. THE CAR HAD AN ALIGNMENT AND NEW TIRES LESS THAN ONE YEAR OLD. THE ACCELERATED INNER WEAR AND CUPPING RESULTED IN A BLOWOUT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE JEEP LIBERTY HAS SERIOUS SUSPENSION PROBLEMS. WHEN I SPOKE TO THE JEEP/CHRYSLER COOPERATION, THEY WERE UNWILLING TO ASSIST IN FIXING THE PROBLEM. WHEN COMPLETING RESEARCH, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2006 JEEP LIBERTIES. JEEP FAILS TO RECOGNIZE THAT THE VIN MODEL OF JEEP HAS A DEFECT IN LOWER AND UPPER BALLS JOINTS FOR MY MODEL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE MAY HAVE FALLEN ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL. WHEN THE DRIVER SUDDENLY WOKE UP AND ATTEMPTED TO AVOID CRASHING INTO A TREE THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER. THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT FRACTURED AND FAILED TO RESTRAIN THEM. THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE DID NOT SURVIVE THE CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATELY FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
I MADE AN APPOINTMENT ON 23 MARCH 2013 WITH THE LOCAL WILLIAMSBURG, VA CHRYSLER TO HAVE THE REAR SUSPENSION LOWER CONTROL ARMS REPLACED ON 5 APRIL 2013. I DROPPED THE JEEP LIBERTY OFF ON 4 APRIL 2013. I RECEIVED A CALL AT 0815 FROM THE DEALERSHIP STATING THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART IN AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER IT AND IT COULD BE IN ON MONDAY 8 APRIL 2013. I HAD ALREADY TAKEN A DAY OFF FROM WORK TO GET THIS DONE. I WENT IN TO PICK UP THE JEEP AND SPOKE TO [XXX] AT THE WILLIAMSBURG, VA CHRYSLER/JEEP/DODGE/KIA DEALERSHIP AND WANTED TO KNOW WHY IT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART IN. HE STATED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THAT PART IN STOCK AND THAT HE WOULD NOT ORDER THE PART UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED TO SEE IF IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WELL DUH! IF I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER STATING THAT THE PART NEEDS TO BE REPLACED THEN THE PART SHOULD BE ORDERED AND WAITING FOR ME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, A SECOND VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL AND CRASH INTO A BUS STOP AND A TREE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT DURING THE INCIDENT, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUFFERED NECK, HEAD, BACK, AND RIGHT SHOULDER INJURIES. NO POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS JEEP LIBERTY FIRST OF ALL AND I LOVE IT, BUT IT IS DANGEROUS! I CAN'T FILL THE GAS TANK ON MY JEEP LIBERTY WITH OUT IT SPEWING BACK OUT. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED GAS WAS ALL ON THE GROUND AT THE GAS STATION. IT GOT ALL OVER MY HANDS AND PAINTS LEG AND BURNED MY SKIN. I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND DIDN'T HAVE AN EXTRA PAIR OF PANTS TO CHANGE INTO. ALL I COULD DO IS PULL OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT AND TRY TO CLEAN MY SKIN IN THE RESTROOM. NOW I HAVE TO HOLD MY EAR DOWN TO THE GAS NOZZLE TO HEAR THE TANK FILLING UP. MY HUSBAND CAN'T HEAR WELL SO I CAN'T LET HIM FUEL THE LIBERTY. OUT OF FEAR OF GAS GETTING ON OTHERS AND ON THE GROUND, I AM THE ONLY ONE THAT FUELS THE TANK. CHRYSLER WILL NOT REPLACE THE GAS TANK BECAUSE IT SHOWS NO PROBLEM UNDER MY VIN NUMBER. THIS IS A PUBLIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY PROBLEM WITH GASOLINE ON PEOPLE AND ALL OVER THE GROUND! FUEL SPEWS OUT OF THE FUEL FILLER OPENING AFTER THE GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF CAUSING FUEL TO SPILL ON TO THE VEHICLE BODY (BOTH PAINTED AND PLASTIC AREAS), ON THE GROUND, AND ON THE PERSON FILLING THE JEEP. THIS CONDITION HAS EXISTED FOR A YEAR BEFORE FILLING THIS COMPLAINT. APPARENTLY THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE ACROSS ALL JEEP LINES. THE ONLY FIX AVAILABLE IS COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL TANK (ESTIMATED $1700.00) AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. I HAVE A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY AND MY FRONT DRIVER WINDOW FELL DOWN FIRST HAD TO REPLACE REGULATOR, THEN ONE MONTH LATER REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DONE THE SAME THING. I DON'T FILL SAFE NOT KNOWING AT ANY TIME MY WINDOWS CAN FELL DOWN AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO PUT THEM UP WITH OUT TAKING OFF DOOR PANELS AND REPAIRING OR REPLACING THE REGULATOR WHICH COST UP TO $200.00 EACH. DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DROPPED - IT'S THE WINDOW REGULATOR - AGAIN. HAVE REPLACED THE OTHER WINDOW PLATES AND REGULATORS IN THIS CAR 4 TIMES! REALLY SCARY WHEN YOU'RE DRIVING AND THE WINDOW SUDDENLY DROPS! ESPECIALLY NICE WHEN IT'S POURING OUT! PREVIOUSLY WAS REIMBURSED BY CHRYSLER FOR REPAIRS, BUT NOW THEY'VE 'CHANGED THEIR POLICY' (REALLY????). THIS WILL COST ME $375 AT MY OWN SHOP AS OPPOSED TO $508 AT THE JEEP DEALERSHIP. WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE ABS BAS ESP STOPPED WORKING AND THE LIGHTS CAME ON. WE WERE LIVING IN FT WAYNE INDIANS AT THE TIME AND WITHOUT THOSE FEATURES THIS JEEP IS FLAT OUT DANGEROUS. I HAD THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR REPLACED TWICE BUT THAT WASN'T IT. ONE DEALER REBUILT ALL FOUR OF MY BRAKES AND PURGED THE SYSTEM. THAT DIDN'T WORK. I PAID FOUR DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS OVER 3800$ PLUS RENT FEES. IT STILL IS T FIXED.

DRIVING TO WORK ONE DAY AND THE ESP, BAS AND TCS LIGHT ALL COME ON. EVENTUALLY WENT OFF BUT AFTER 4 MINS LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. *TR

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE WINDOW PARTS INSTALLED IN VEHICLE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE WINDOW HAS BEEN REPLACED FIVE TIMES WITHIN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS, IN ADDITION, TO THE PREVIOUS 11-12 REPLACEMENTS IN 2007. THE CONSUMER STATED USING THE SAME DEFECTIVE PARTS WAS NOT GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ALSO, WHEN THE WINDOWS WERE DOWN, THERE WAS A THUMPING AND WIND NOISE, THAT WAS UNBEARABLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THINGS WERE STOLEN OUT OF HIS VEHICLE, BECAUSE THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT GO UP. ALSO THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND THE DOORS WOULD VIBRATE WHEN THE WINDOWS WERE DOWN.
WHILE FILLING UP WITH GAS, IF YOU TRY TO FILL THE TANK, GAS POURS OUT OF THE TANK BEFORE THE HOSE CAN SHUT ITSELF OFF. GAS COVERS THE SIDE OF THE CAR, IS ALL OVER ANYONE STANDING NEAR AND THE GROUND. WHEN I WALK AWAY FROM THE CAR, THE GAS STATION ATTENDANT SAYS I MUST STAY WITH THE CAR DURING THE GASSING PROCESS. IS IT SAFE TO HAVE A CAR WHERE THE AUTO SHUTOFF DOESN'T WORK FOR A FLUID AS FLAMMABLE AS GAS? I HAVE TRIED MANY GAS STATIONS, THIS OCCURS AT EVERY STATION, AND HOPED THE PROBLEM WOULD CORRECT ITSELF, IT HAS NOT. *TR
