TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 65 MPH WHEN THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW INDEPENDENTLY OPENED AND FELL INTO THE DOOR PANEL. THE CONTACT HAD EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE TWICE PRIOR TO THE MOST RECENT FAILURE. THE IDENTICAL FAILURE OCCURRED TO THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW AS WELL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE AND WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000. ..UPDATED 09/04/12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WERE SIX (6) INCIDENTS (3 EACH) INVOLVING THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER'S REAR WINDOW. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER IS GOING INTO PARTIAL LOCK-UP. MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF SITUATION PER KN 87887255, BUT THERE IS NO REPAIR AT THIS TIME. HESITATION, SHUDDER, ALMOST STALLS. BEEN OCCURRING SINCE PURCHASED NEW. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THERE HAVE BEEN NO CRASHES DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 37,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2007, AT APPROXIMATELY 8:30PM BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I GOT IN OUR 2006 JEEP LIBERTY WITH ONLY 9,188 MILES TO DRIVE HOME. UPON TURNING ON THE VEHICLE WE TURNED UP THE AIR CONDITIONER AND HEARD A GRINDING SOUND. UNSURE OF WHAT THE NOISE WAS, MY HUSBAND TURNED DOWN THE AIR FOR A MOMENT. AS HE TURNED THE AIR BACK UP THE BLOWER FAN FELL OUT OF THE DASHBOARD AND INTO THE FOOT AREA OF THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT WHERE I WAS SITTING. THE BLOWER FAN WAS STILL TURNING AS IT MADE CONTACT WITH MY FEET BECAUSE IT DID NOT DETACH FROM THE ELECTRICAL WIRING. THE BLOWER FAN CONTINUED RUNNING UNTIL MY HUSBAND SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. DUE TO THE FACT THAT I WAS WEARING SANDALS WHEN THE BLOWER FAN FELL OUT OF THE DASHBOARD MY TOES WERE SEVERELY LACERATED AND SUFFERED ABRASIONS. THESE INJURIES REQUIRED ME TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. DUE TO THIS INJURY I HAVE HAD TO MISS WORK, AS IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO WEAR SHOES, STAND FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME, OR SIT WITHOUT ELEVATING MY FEET. THIS INCIDENT ALONG WITH OTHER MULTIPLE FAULTY WINDOW COMPONENTS, ALL OF WHICH ARE WARRANTY ITEMS, CAUSE US CONCERN. PARTICULARLY SINCE THE BLOWER FAN WAS A RECALLED PART AND HAD RECENTLY BEEN REPLACED. WE NO LONGER FEEL THAT THIS VEHICLE IS SAFE TO OPERATE AND HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER HEADQUARTERS CUSTOMER SERVICE CALL CENTER FOR ASSISTANCE AND ARE AWAITING AN INSPECTION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW WOULD FALL DOWN WITHOUT WARNING AND COULD INJURE A PASSENGER IF A ROCK FLEW THROUGH IT. THE DEALER MADE FOUR ATTEMPTS TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, HOWEVER, DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FOR THE BLOWER MOTOR ON HIS VEHICLE. HE HAS BEEN WAITING THIRTY DAYS FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE SO HIS VEHICLE CAN BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER INFORMED HIM THAT THE PART ARRIVED. ON AUGUST 28, 2007, THE CONTACT TOOK HIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND REMAINED THERE THE ENTIRE DAY. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART HAD NOT ARRIVED AFTER ALL, BUT THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY REMAINS AT THE DEALER. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 3,500.
2006 JEEP LIBERTY DIESEL WITH 14,500 MILES. ENGINE DIES 10-15 SECONDS AFTER START. FUEL SYSTEM MUST BE PRIMED WITH PUMP ON FUEL FILTER HEAD IN ORDER TO RESTART ENGINE. FUEL IS SEEPING FROM THE FUEL HEATER ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR LOCATED ON THE FILTER ASSEMBLY. DEALER REPLACED FUEL FILTER ASSEMBLY AS A WARRANTY REPAIR. *TR
I HAD DRIVEN MY JEEP LIBERTY FOR ABOUT 10 MILES AND PARKED IT IN MY DRIVEWAY AT ABOUT 6 PM ON WED AUG 15,2007. AT MIDNIGHT, I WENT TO LET THE DOG IN AND SAW FLAMES COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR. I CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT . THE WHOLE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS BURNED UP. THE CAR IS TOTALED. I LATER FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED ON THAT CAR FOR A DEFECT IN THE AC BLOWER MOTOR. I WAS NOT USING THE AC THAT DAY. *TR
OUR JEEP LIBERTY DIESEL AS BEEN RUNNING TERRIBLY LATELY, AND THEN STALLED AND WOULD NOT START. AFTER LOOKING FURTHER INTO THE CAUSE,I FOUND THAT THE FUEL FILTER HEAD HAD A FUEL LEAK AT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION FOR THE FUEL HEATER. IT APPEARS THAT THE HEATER IS OVER HEATING AND MELTING THE NON-METALLIC FILTER HEAD WHERE THE CONNECTOR PENETRATES AND SEALS. THE CONNECTOR THAT PLUGS INTO THE FILTER HEAD IS BLACK AROUND ONE OF THE PINS. I HAVE LEFT THE HEATER UNPLUGGED, AND FOR NOW HAVE SEALED THE LEAK WITH A FUEL TANK EPOXY PATCH. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER VEHICLE MAY OVERHEAT AND CAUSE AN INTERIOR FIRE. SHE STATED THAT THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE ON THE DASHBOARD WAS RISING. THE DEALER HAS NOT RECEIVED THE PARTS YET TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, BUT WILL MAKE THE REPAIR ONCE THEY BECOME AVAILABLE. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,456 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY LATEST JEEP, A 2006 LIBERTY (WITH FEWER THAN 16000 MILES), HAS GONE TO THE SHOP 5 TIMES FOR 5 BROKEN WINDOWS (CABLES/REGULATORS). THEY JUST ROLLED DOWN ONE DAY AND REFUSED TO ROLL BACK UP AGAIN. THE FIRST WINDOW BROKE ABOUT ONE MONTH AFTER I PURCHASED THE SUV. ANOTHER OF THE WINDOWS HAS BROKEN TWICE, WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF THE FIRST "REPAIR." THEN I HAD TO TAKE IT IN RECENTLY WITH TWO WINDOWS BROKEN AT THE SAME TIME. IT'S RIDICULOUS! *JB UPDATED 10/10/07. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WINDOW LIFT PLATES FAILED AND THE WINDOWS COULD NOT BE CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE WINDOW LIFT PLATES SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,827.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4. WHEN THE CONTACTS HUSBAND PLACED THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT FULL SPEED. THE CONTACTS HUSBAND STRUCK HIS WIFE, CAUSING HER TO SUSTAIN TWO BROKEN LEGS. THE VEHICLE DROVE STRAIGHT THROUGH THE GARAGE KNOCKING OUT THE BACK WALL. HE PLACED THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE AND THE ENGINE'S RPMS INCREASED. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED BACKWARDS AND CRASHED INTO THE GARAGE. HE PLACED THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ONCE MORE. HE CRASHED INTO THE FENCE AGAIN AND THEN INTO AN 400-POUND MILLING MACHINE THAT WAS STORED IN THE GARAGE. THE MILLING MACHINE STOPPED THE VEHICLE ONCE AND FOR ALL. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES ON THE LEFT LEG. THE WEATHER WAS DRY AND SUNNY AT THE TIME OF FAILURE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE ACCELERATED SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 300. THE CONSUMER PROVIDED A NEW JERSEY POLICE REPORT AND MULTIPLE PICTURES OF THE VEHICLE AND THE DAMAGE TO THEIR PROPERTY AS A RESULT OF THE INCIDENT. 2006 JEEP LIBERTY WITH MOTOR BLOWER RECALL PROBLEMS CUSTOMER WANTS REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS**CC THE CONSUMER STATED HE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR HIS VEHICLE PERTAINING TO THE MOTOR BLOWER. THE DEALER STATED THE RECALL WORK HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT HE CONTACTED CHRYSLER WHO INFORMED HIM TO GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AND SUPPLY THEM WITH THE INVOICE FOR REIMBURSEMENT. *TR
I WAS IN STOP-AND-GO COMMUTE TRAFFIC TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH. TRAFFIC STARTED MOVING A LITTLE FASTER WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME BRAKE HARD, I PRESSED HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND MY JEEP LURCHED FORWARD BEFORE BRAKING HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE ROAD WAS DRY AND THERE WERE NO SKID MARKS.THE WAY THE JEEP LURCHED FORWARD IT FELT LIKE THE BRAKE PADS WERE WORN OUT OR THE ROTORS WERE WARPED OR THE SHOCKS WERE FAULTY. WE HAD BOUGHT THE JEEP LIBERTY NEW LESS THAN ONE YEAR EARLIER. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE JEEP HOME. THAT WAS A FRIDAY AND BY MONDAY MY STOMACH BECAME SO DISTENDED I COULD BARELY MOVE. I HAD BEEN IN CONTACT WITH KAISER ADVICE NURSES THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND AND THAT MONDAY I WAS HOSPITALIZED. 2 WEEKS IN THE HOSPITAL RESULTED IN THE FIRST OF 3 SURGERIES THAT CHANGED MY LIFE AND MY FAMILIES LIFE PERMANENTLY. SURGERY 1 WAS AN ILLEOSTOMY IN JULY 2007, SURGERY 2 WAS J-POUCH SURGERY IN DECEMBER 2007. SURGERY 3 WAS ABDOMINAL RECONSTRUCTION SURGERY IN SEPTEMBER 2013. I HAVE PERMANENT NERVE DAMAGE IN MY STOMACH, PAINFUL SCAR TISSUES THROUGHOUT MY UPPER TORSO, A DEGENERATING DISC IN MY LOWER BACK AND ONGOING ABDOMINAL AND HIP PAIN. THE PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL TOLL THIS HAS HAD ON MY FAMILY IS TREMENDOUS. MY 2006 JEEP LIBERTY HAS BEEN DETERMINED TO BE A LEMON BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. *TR

THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY CLEANED THE SENSOR. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. ON JULY 6, 2007, THE CONTACT RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE NUMBER 07V089000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). HE WAS INFORMED BY TWO LOCAL DEALERS THAT IT WOULD TAKE TWO MONTHS BEFORE THE VEHICLE COULD BE REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 8,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A COMPLAINT ABOUT PARKWAY CHRYSLER DODGE AND JEEP DEALER. I HAVE A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AND I CALLED THEM BACK IN JULY OF 2007, THE SAID THAT THEY HAD TO PLACE AN ORDER ON THE PART AND IT COULD TAKE UP TO A MONTH. TWO MONTH PASSED AND I CALLED THEM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT STILL ISN'T IT AND THAT THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN IT WAS READY. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON BACK AND FORTH SINCE JULY 2007 AND NOW ITS JAN 2008 AND I AM GETTING ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL. I HAVE HAD OTHER ISSUES WITH THEM TOO. *TR

THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE MOTOR IN THE DOOR EACH TIME. THIS ONLY REMEDIES THE FAILURE TEMPORARILY AND LASTS APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MONTHS BEFORE IT FAILS AGAIN. THE MOTOR HAS BEEN REPLACED AT LEAST FIVE TIMES. THE CONTACT HAS FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME FAILURE AND BELIEVES THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DEFECT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE BLOWER MOTOR. THE DEALER IS ONLY RECEIVING TWO PARTS PER WEEK AND THE CONTACT FEELS THAT THE WAIT TIME FOR THE REPAIR IS TOO LONG. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 22,812.

ON JULY 23, 2007, SHE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FOR THIS FAILURE. SHE WILL CONTACT THE DEALER AND INFORM THEM OF THE NOTICE. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 2,000.

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT PROVIDE A RENTAL. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 6,581 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
AUTOMATIC WINDOWS KEEP COMING OUT OF THEIR TRACK. HAVE HAD THREE OF THE FOUR WINDOWS FIXED AND THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED. HAD THE SAME WINDOWS REPLACED WITH A SYSTEM INVOLVING REPLACING THE WHOLE WINDOW AND THE DEFECTED PART INSIDE OF THE DOOR. TWO OF THE THREE WINDOWS WERE FIXED FOR THE SECOND TIME OUT OF WARRANTY BUT NOW CHRYSLER IS STATING I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE AFTER MARKET TINT AND THEY WILL REIMBURSE ME PART OF THE PRICE BUT CANNOT SAY HOW MUCH UNTIL AFTER I REPLACE THE WINDOW TINT. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER EACH TIME, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR AND LIFT PLATES WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO ONLY OFFERED TO REIMBURSE HER FOR ONE OF THE WINDOWS SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 600 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 41,000.

AFTER FIVE MONTHS OF REQUESTS AND DELAYS, I HAVE FINALLY TOLD THE DEALER THAT THE SAFETY REPAIR NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED PROMPTLY.
