REAR WINDOW FELL DOWN AND DOES NOT STAY UP, USED A DEVICE TO KEEP FROM FALLING DOWN, 1 WEEK LATER THE OTHER ONE FELL DOWN. TOOK TO REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE REGULATOR WAS BAD ON BOTH WINDOWS AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE WINDOW ALSO. THE REASON FOR THIS IS BECAUSE THE REGULATORS WERE REDESIGNED AND IT WILL COST OVER $800 TO REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. NO OLD PARTS ARE AVAILABLE HAVE TO PUT IN NEW PARTS. THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT REPAIRING ARE THE WINDOW CAN COME DOWN AND SOMEONE CAN GET IN YOUR CAR, THE OTHER SOLUTION IS TO HAVE IT FIXED SO IT CANNOT FALL DOWN UNTIL YOU GET THE MONEY TO REPLACE IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ATTEMPTING TO MERGE OFF THE HIGHWAY, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES, WHIPLASH, AND OTHER UNKNOWN INJURIES. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES AND WHIPLASH. BOTH OCCUPANTS REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE, A FIRE ERUPTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. YEARS AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V252000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE, STRUCTURE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. IN 4/2010 I BOUGHT 2007 JEEP LIBERTY (LESS THAN SIX MONTHS AGO) - WITHIN TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW JUST FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR WHILE IN MOTION - WAS PROB DOING 65 THE FIRST TIME - I BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY FIXED IT FREE - THE SECOND TIME (APPROX 3 MONTHS LATER) ON FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND, I AM VISITING MY SON SIX HOURS AWAY AND I'M DRIVING AND ARRIVE AT MY SON'S HOUSE AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE JUST FALLS - I HAD TO DRIVE SIX HOURS BACK HOME WITH STORMS AND A WINDOW THAT WOULDN'T STAY UP -- I HAVE TRIED STUFFING CARDBOARD IN THE WINDOW BUT IT FALLS OUT NOW BECAUSE I IS ALL STRETCHED OUT - I HAVE TO STOP AND GET OUT ON THE INTERSTATE TO TRY AND PRY STUFF IN TO KEEP THE WINDOW UP - ANY STORMS AND I AM IN BIG TROUBLE - I CURRENTLY HAVE BEEN WAITING ONE WEEK JUST FOR THE DEALER TO FIX IT - THEY HAVE TO ORDER A COMPLETE ASSEMBLY UNIT EACH TIME AND THIS TIME THEY WILL CHARGE ME $100 DEDUCTIBLE - AS EXPLAINED TO ME THE UNIT THAT HOLDS THE WINDOW IN IS VERY FRAGILE AND MADE OF UNSTURDY, CHEAP PLASTIC...DUE TO THEIR SERVICE HOURS I HAVE TO TAKE TIME OFF FROM WORK AND I HAVE CHILDREN THAT RIDE WITH ME AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS WINDOW FALLING WHILE I HAVE THEM IN THE VEHICLE AND ITS VERY DANGEROUS DURING BAD WEATHER AND EXPENSIVE TO FIX EACH TIME AS WELL. 1ST INCIDENT HAPPENED AROUND 4/15/10 AND SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED ON 7/4/10 WEEKEND. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY AND THE GLASS WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED HE WAS ABLE TO LOCATE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THE FAILURE YET THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,040.

2007 JEEP LIBERTY REAR WINDOW FELL DOWN INTO DOOR SPONTANEOUSLY AS WE ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH CHILDREN IN THE REAR SEATS. DEFECTIVE WINDOW MECHANISM. *TR
WINDOW REGULATORS ARE NO GOOD WE HAVE 70,000 MILES ON OUR 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. WE ALREADY HAD ONE REPLACED AND NOW THE BACK WINDOWS FAIL DOWN AND NO WAY TO GET THEM UP. WE WENT TODAY AND GOT THEM FIXED NEW REGULATORS AND NEW WINDOWS AT A COST OF $527.00. YOU CANT GET THE OLD REGULATORS BECAUSE THEY HAVE HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM .YOU HAVE TO BUY THE NEW ONES AND THE NEW WINDOWS TO FIT THEM. THERE HAS BEEN LOTS OF COMPLAINTS AND I THINK IT SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THEM.THEY ARE A PIECE OF JUNK.WE HARDLY EVER USED OUR BACK WINDOWS CAUSE IF YOU LET THEM DOWN GOING DOWN THE ROAD THE VIBRATION IS NOT BEARABLE. WE WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER JEEP EVER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WHEN SHE HEARD A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND THE WINDOW WOULD NOT CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE TECHNICIANS REPLACED THE WINDOW REGULATOR UNDER A GOODWILL CLAIM. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL FOR THE WINDOW LIFT PLATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE RECALL DID NOT COVER THE WINDOW REGULATOR. THE RECALL DID NOT SPECIFY WHICH WINDOW WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
MY COMPLAINT RELATES TO MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE POWER WINDOWS. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 3 DIFFERENT WINDOWS SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW ALMOST 3 NEWS AGO. THE POWER WINDOWS FAIL TO WORK AND THE WINDOW DROPS DOWN INTO THE DOOR. *TR

PURCHASED 07 JEEP LIBERTY 4/10 ON 6/10 THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR DUE TO A BROKEN WINDOW LIFT OR REGULATOR. ON 3/12 THE PASS SIDE WINDOW FELL HALF WAY DOWN DUE TO THE SAME PROBLEM. ITS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE PARTS AS SO MANY VEHICLES HAVE HAD THE SAME THE SAME PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS YET CHRYSLER JEEP STILL WILL NOT ISSUE A RECALL. *TR
3RD INCIDENT IN 6MO, WINDOW FALLS OFF TRACK INTO DOOR AND HAS TO BE REPLACED, COST OVER $500 TO FIX, NOT COVERED BY JEEP? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR WINDOW REGULATORS FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE BELIEVED THE FAILURE TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT BECAUSE ALL FOUR REGULATORS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 103,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. UPDATED 11/29/11 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE DAY SHE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, EVEN BEFORE SHE DROVE OFF THE LOT, THE WINDOW FELL DOWN. THE DEALER GAVE THE CONSUMER A LOANER VEHICLE, WHILE THEY FIXED HERS AND FOUR DAYS LATER WHEN SHE RETURNED TO PICK UP HER VEHICLE, THE REAR WINDOW HAD FALLEN DOWN. A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE DRIVER'S WINDOW FAILED AGAIN. THE CONSUMER STATED ONLY ONE WINDOW WORKS. UPDATED 12/07/11
2007 JEEP LIBERTY TWO-WHEELED DRIVE. LEFT REAR ELECTRIC WINDOW HAD TO BE REPLACED WHEN WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED ON MAY 20, 2010, WITH ONLY 29,794 MILES ON THE CAR. WINDOW WENT DOWN INTO LEFT REAR DOOR, BEHIND DRIVER, AND BECAME TOTALLY INOPERABLE. DEALER-SHAVER AUTOMOTIVE GROUP IN THOUSAND OAKS, CA, CHANGED REGULATOR AND GLASS AND CHARGED US AN EXORBITANT $482.60. DID NOT EVEN HONOR DISCOUNT COUPON FOR $50 OFF OF SERVICE. POINT IS, THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN DEFECT BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS, AND CHRYSLER SHOULD PAY FOR IT. IN ADDITION THE REPLACEMENT REGULATORS SHOULD BE DIFFERENT OR BE REDESIGNED TO BE MORE ROBUST, BECAUSE IT MAKES NO SENSE TO REPLACE WITH THE SAME REGULATORS THAT MIGHT EVENTUALLY FAIL AGAIN, AS SEEMS TO BE THE CASE WITH OTHER COMPLAINANTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE FAILURES WITH THE SAME OR DIFFERENT WINDOWS. *TR
I HAVE NOW HAD 3 OF MY WINDOWS FALL DOWN INTO THE DOORS RESULTING IN EXTREMELY COSTLY REPAIRS IN MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. UPON READING MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS I SEE CHRYSLER IS QUITE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. IT IS VERY SCARY WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND IT HAPPENS. FOR THE FOURTH TIME THE POWER WINDOW REGULATORS ON MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY HAVE BROKEN ONE BY ONE, THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED AND JEEP WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS DEFECT. DURING WARRANTY PERIOD ALL REGULATORS WERE REPLACED ONE BY ONE AND NOW MY PASSENGER FRONT WINDOW IS BROKEN AGAIN AND I CAN HEAR THE OTHER WINDOWS THAT ARE ABOUT READY TO GIVE IN AGAIN. *TR
IN MAY OF 2010 THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED, WINDOW FELL TO BOTTOM OF DOOR. ABOUT A MONTH LATER THE FRONT DRIVERS REGULATOR FELL, THEN A WEEK LATER THE REAR DRIVER SIDE FAILED ON A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. HAVE CALLED AND LEFT MESSAGES FOR THE AREA SERVICE REP AND HAVE NEVER BEEN CALLED BACK. *TR
2007 JEEP LIBERTY WINDOW JUST FALLS INTO THE DOOR FRAME. HAVE HAD 2 REGULATORS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY NOW A THIRD ONE JUST BROKE. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 31,000 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER ADVISED IT WOULD COST $520.00 TO REPAIR IT. APPARENTLY, THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND IT SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR PANEL. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE WINDOWS WOULD BE REPLACED WITH A NEWLY DESIGNED WINDOW ISSUED BY THE MANUFACTURER AS A RESULT OF SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE OLDER DESIGN. MY WINDOW REGULATOR KEEPS BREAKING ALLOWING MY WINDOWS TO FALL INTO THE DOOR FRAME. I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HEAR A LOAD NOISE AND LOOK AND SEE THAT ONE OF MY WINDOWS HAS FALLEN AGAIN. MY YOUNG SON LIKES TO STICK HIS HAND OUT THE WINDOW WHEN IT FALLS AND IT WORRIES ME THAT HIS HAND COULD HIT SOMETHING OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY CAR 3 TIMES AND THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT IT WASN'T A SAFETY ISSUE. I THINK WHEN I AM HAVING TO LOOK AROUND AND SEE WHERE NOISES ARE COMING FROM AND HAVING TO MONITOR MY SON NON STOP SO HE DOESN'T PUT HIS HAND OUT THE WINDOW, I AM DEFINITELY NOT FOCUSED ON MY DRIVING. THIS IS A FAIRLY NEW CAR, NO WARRANTY, BUT THE PROBLEM STARTED UNDER WARRANTY, AND CONTINUES. I OWN A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. IN APRIL 2010, I HAD TO HAVE THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR, MOTOR AND GLASS (NOTHING WRONG WITH THE GLASS) FOR THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT AND REAR REPLACED. OF COURSE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. I WAS TOLD THAT THE REGULATOR FAILED BUT I HAD TO HAVE ALL REPLACED. I WAS TOLD THAT THE DESIGN FOR THE 2007 REGULATOR WAS CHANGED AND THAT IS WHY I HAD TO HAVE ALL REPLACED AT A COST OF $425.00 EACH. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW JUST DROPPED DOWN INTO THE DOOR WITHOUT WARNING (AUG 25,2010). I ASSUME THAT I WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE REGULATOR, MOTOR AND GLASS (AGAIN NOTHING WRONG WITH THE GLASS) REPLACED AT ANOTHER $425.00. I AM JUST WAITING FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE GLASS TO FALL INTO THE DOOR AND HAVE TO REPLACE THAT ALSO. I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. SOME HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE REGULATORS REPLACED THREE OR FOUR TIMES. YET THERE IS NO RECALL. THIS IS A DISGRACE. IT IS TOTALLY UNFAIR FOR THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES TO HAVE TO CONTINUE TO SHELL OUT THIS KIND OF MONEY OVER AND OVER AGAIN WHEN THERE IS CLEARLY A DESIGN FLAW. RANDOM EVENTS OF THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LAMP FLASHING AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LAMP ILLUMINATING. THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL TO A ROUGH IDLE OR LOSS OF POWER AND AN INABILITY TO ACCELERATE. ON OCCASION THE VEHICLE WOULD DIE AND WOULD NOT RESTART. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 65 MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON HOT SPRING DAYS. THE BACK DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW DOES NOT GO UP OR DOWN ANY LONGER. THOUGHT IT WAS JUST SIMPLY THE WINDOW BEING OFF THE TRACK. AFTER BRINGING IT IN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WAS TOLD IT IS THE WINDOW REGULATOR THAT IS THE PROBLEM. AFTER DOING SOME SIMPLE ONLINE SEARCHES THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM IT APPEARS WITH 2006 OR LATER JEEP LIBERTY'S. THERE ARE THOUSANDS THAT HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE, AND THE PART IS EXPENSIVE. IT ALSO IS VERY UNSAFE AS IF YOU LEAVE A PET IN THE CAR, AND THE WINDOW JUST GOES DOWN BY ITSELF, THAT CAN BE A MAJOR PROBLEM. A EVEN BIGGER PROBLEM CAN BE IF YOU HAVE A CHILD IN THE CAR, AND THE WINDOW JUST GOES DOWN. PLUS OBVIOUSLY IF IT RAINS/ SNOWS, OR THEFT WITH WINDOW BEING OPENED. CHRYSLER WAS MADE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM NUMEROUS TIMES, AND THEY DO NOT ISSUE A RECALL TO FIX. NOW I HAVE TO SPEND 300.00 DOLLARS OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE FIXED, WHEN THERE IS A OBVIOUS DEFECT. IM ACTUALLY LUCKY FROM WHAT I READ AS IT IS ONLY MY FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, AND IN MOST CASES IT HAPPENS MANY MORE TIMES OVER THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. I HAVE HAD 2 SEPARATE WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL ON 2 SEPARATE WINDOWS. THE 2ND TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY. THE WINDOW SLID DOWN AND SEEMED TO CAUSE ISSUES WITH THE DOOR. THE DOOR CAME PRATICALLY OPEN BUT MAINTAINED A CATCH ON THE DOOR HOOK. I HAD TO STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. LUCKILY THERE WAS NOT A WRECK. I WAS TOLD THERE HAVE BEEN ALOT OF COMPLAINTS WITH THIS REGULATOR PROBLEM BUT I HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED. THE WINDOW NOR THE DOOR WERE BEING USED AS NO ONE WAS SITTING IN THAT SEAT. *TR
WINDOW CARRIER ON REAR PASSENGER WINDOW JEEP LIBERTY FAILED WHILE IN A CAR WASH. THIS RESULTED IN WINDOW FALLING IN ITS TRACK WITH THE CONSEQUENT IMPACT OF BABY IN CAR SEAT EXPOSED TO SOAP, LIQUID, AND ASSOCIATED PERILS OF BRUSHES AND POISONS. THIS IS SECOND IDENTICAL FAILURE OF POWER WINDOW REGULATOR ON MY VEHICLE AND IS VERY VERY COMMON AS REPORTED IN MANY INTERNET FORUMS. VEHICLE IS 2007 JEEP LIBERTY WITH ONLY 8500 MILES ON IT AND THE REAR WINDOWS ARE VERY INFREQUENTLY USED OR OPENED - MAYBE 20 TIMES IN THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE WHICH I HAVE HAD SINCE NEW!! CLEARLY THE ISSUE IS THAT THE SCREW DRIVE WORM IN THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR IS MADE OF NYLON AND NOT STEEL. I HAVE NOW TEMPORARILY FIXED ONE SIDE WINDOW WITH A DESIGN OF MY OWN INCORPORATING A STEEL SPRING WINDING AND WANT CHRYSLER TO SUPPLY ME WITH FOUR NEW REGULATORS SO THAT I CAN MODIFY ALL WINDOWS TO AN ACCEPTABLE SAFE STANDARD. *TR
POWER WINDOWS FAILURE ON JEEP LIBERTY 2007. REAR WINDOWS HAVE FAILED MORE THAN 6-7 TIMES OVER LAST 60000KMS . AND IT KEEPS HAPPENING. THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE WINDOWS ALSO EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE. THE CONTACT USED AN OBJECT TO KEEP WINDOWS IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS DEACTIVATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
WINDOWS WILL BECOME STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. I HAVE HAVE THE FRONT 2 WINDOWS FIXED ALREADY, THE DRIVER SIDE TWICE AND THE PASSENGER SIDE ONCE. NOW, THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW HAS BECOME STUCK DOWN. 2007 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4 PURCHASED JUNE 2009 WITH 15K MILES (PROGRAM VEHICLE). OCTOBER 2009 THE DRIVERS SIDE POWER WINDOW FAILED WHEN DOWN SELECTED. DEALERSHIP REPLACED REGULATOR UNDER MFGR WARRANTY. MARCH 2010 DAUGHTER AND BOYFRIEND WERE CRUISING AT 65 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE LEFT REAR WINDOW FAILED AND PARTIALLY FELL INTO THE DOOR. THEY MANAGED TO PULL THE WINDOW INTO THE CLOSED POSITION; BUT THEN HAD GREAT DIFFICULTY GETTING THE LEFT REAR DOOR TO LATCH SHUT. EVIDENTLY SOME COMPONENT OF THE WINDOW REGULATOR SYSTEM WAS INTERFERRING WITH THE LATCH MENCAHISM. LUCKILY THEY WERE ABLE TO GET THE DOOR CLOSED TO FINISH THE DRIVE HOME (60+ MILES). DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARDS INCLUDE STARTLED DRIVER WHEN WINDOW FALLS, DOORS THAT CAN BE JAMMED EITHER IN CLOSED OR OPEN POSITION, AND OF COURSE SECURITY. NO PROBLEMS WERE EXPERIENCED PRIOR TO JAN 31ST, AT WHICH POINT MY REAR DRIVERSIDE TIRE BLEW OUT, THROUGH A TEAR IN THE SIDEWALL. IT APPEARED THROUGH SLASH MARKS, WHICH I FIRST I THOUGHT WAS VANDALISM. AFTER CLOSER INSPECTION OF ALL THE OTHER TIRES, I HAVE FOUND THE SAME MARKS, AND IN THE DRIVERSIDE FRONT TIRE, A GAP THAT IS ABOUT TO BLOW OUT AS WELL. WHEN I REALIZED IT WAS LIKELY A DEFECTIVE SET OF TIRES, I CALLED GOODYEAR. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE THE CAR INTO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE DEALER CONFIRMED IT WAS A SET OF DEFECTIVE TIRES. THEN THEY TOLD ME BECAUSE I HAD GOOD USE UP TO THAT POINT, THAT I DON'T GET TO HAVE FULL-PRICE REPLACEMENT, BUT ONLY PARTIAL CREDIT. THE TIRES HAVE BEEN PERFECTLY MAINTAINED, AND WOULD LAST ME AT LEAST ANOTHER 3-4 YEARS BECAUSE OF MY LIGHT-DRIVING HABITS, AND I DON'T HAVE THE RESOURCE TO REPLACE ALL MY TIRES, NOR CAN I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR IN THIS CONDITION, IT IS UNSAFE! *TR

I HAVE HAD TWO OF THE FOUR WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL ON OUR JEEP LIBERTY, WHAT WAS PURCHASED NEW, AT THE END OF 2007. THIS FAILURE CAUSES THE WINDOW TO FALL DOWN, INTO THE DOOR AND HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A DESIGN FLAW, ENOUGH THAT JEEP HAS COMPLETELY RE-DESIGNED THE REGULATOR AND WINDOW. I HAD THE FIRST FAIL AT 36,600 MILES, LAST JUNE (JUST PASSED WARRANTY) AND THE SECOND FAILED IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR. I OWN A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY AND HAVE A CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH GAS PUMPS NOT SHUTTING OFF AT ANY OF THE STATIONS WHERE I HAVE PURCHASED GAS. THIS ISSUE STARTED A FEW MONTHS AGO AND AT FIRST I JUST ASSUMED IT WAS RELATED TO A PARTICULAR PUMP, BUT HAVE FOUND THAT IT OVERFLOWS NO MATTER WHERE I PURCHASE GAS. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS DANGER AND CERTAINLY AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE ESPECIALLY WHEN SUCH EFFORTS ARE MADE TO EVEN CONTROL VAPOR EMISSIONS ON MODERN VEHICLES. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER BUT THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND THIS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEPS. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE, BUT AM MORE ANXIOUS ABOUT THE SAFETY ISSUE THIS CAUSES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATED FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW IN FRONT MADE A LOUD NOISE AND WENT DOWN WHEN ROLLING DOWN POWER WINDOW. THEN ONE BY ONE EACH OF MY TRUCKS WINDOW DID THE SAME THING. NONE OF THE WINDOWS WILL ROLL BACK UP. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP SHE WAS AWARE TOLD ME THIS HAPPENS TO ALL OF THOSE TYPES OF VEHICLES AND WHEN I REPLACE THEM MORE THAN LIKELY IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. TO FIX THE REGULATORS IN ALL FOUR WINDOWS WILL BE 350-500 PER WINDOW TO REPAIR. THE REGULATOR FROM WHAT I UNDERSTOOD IS A SMALL PLASTIC PIECE IN THESE SPECIFIC TRUCKS THAT BREAK ALL THE TIME.
