THIS ISSUE IS REGARDING MY JEEP LIBERTY '07 WINDOW REGULATOR. DRIVING FROM WORK AND I DECIDED TO OPEN MY REAR PASSENGER WINDOW AND IT MADE A CRACKING NOISE. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE BUTTON FROM OPENING THE WINDOW FURTHER. I TRIED TO CLOSE IT AGAIN BUT IT IS JUST STUCK THERE. THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THAT I HAD THIS PROBLEM AND ALWAYS THAT SAME WINDOW. THE PRIOR EVENT WAS WHEN IT JUST STOPPED MOVING AND A FEW SECONDS AFTER THAT THE GLASS WINDOW JUST DROPPED INSIDE THE DOOR. *TR
12/15/2009:2007JEEP LIBERTY:BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHEN FIRST APPLYING,HAVE TO PUMP BRAKE REPEATEDLY TO GET GOOD BRAKE PEDAL. VEHICLE IS AT DODGE DEALERSHIP FOR 2 WEEKS. THEY'VE REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER, ABS SENSOR,ABS MOTOR, BRAKE LINES(FRONT AND REAR) CHECK CALIPERS AND BRAKE PADS (BOTH IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION) AND STILL CAN'T GET BRAKE PEDAL TO APPLY WHEN FIRST PRESSING ON IT. THE SERVICE DEPT. MANAGER DOESN'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO AND HAS PUT IN A CALL TO JEEP TECHNICAL SERVICE. NOTE: THIS IS A RIGHT HAND DRIVE MAIL JEEP ORIGINAL FROM FACTORY. NO MODIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN DONE. JEEP IS OUT OF MILEAGE WARRANTY - 69,000 MILES AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL REPAIRS. *TR
MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW BEGAN TO STICK AND MOVE UP AND DOWN VERY SLOWLY ALL OF A SUDDEN ONE DAY. I DROVE MY JEEP TO THE STORE, AT WHICH TIME MY WINDOW WAS CORRECTLY IN PLACE. WHEN I CAME OUT APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES LATER MY WINDOW HAD SUNK ALL THE WAY INTO THE DOOR. I WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT THE ERROR WAS WITH THE WINDOW REGULATOR. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEP LIBERTY OWNERS AND IT IS NOT ONLY VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX, BUT IT IS A BIG SAFETY HAZARD WHEN WINDOWS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS DECEMBER AND VERY COLD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2007 JEEP LIBERTY 4X4. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE CONTACT STATED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE AUTOMATIC WINDOW RELEASED IN A DOWNWARD MOTION WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED AT THE DEALER. THE IDENTICAL FAILURE OCCURRED PREVIOUSLY WITH THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AUTOMATIC WINDOW IN WHICH THE WINDOW REGULATOR AND GLASS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
DRIVER'S WINDOW BEGAN TO SLIDE ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE IN DEC. 2008. BACK PASSENGER WINDOW STUCK ABOUT 2 INCHES DOWN AND THEN SUDDENLY CAME CRASHING DOWN WHILE I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE. IT NEARLY SCARED ME TO DEATH! THE BACK WINDOW IS IN THE DOOR. WE TRY TO KEEP THE WINDOW COVERED AND ARE NOT CURRENTLY DRIVING THE VEHICLE BECAUSE WE CAN'T AFFORD THE REPAIR RIGHT NOW. OCCASIONALLY THE WIND PULLS THE PROTECTIVE COVERING OFF, AND WE HAVE RAIN STAINS ON THE SEATS AS A RESULT. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THEY NO LONGER MAKE THIS REGULATOR BECAUSE IT IS FAULTY, SO THE GLASS HAVE TO BE REPLACED ALSO WITH THE NEW REGULATOR AT A COST OF ABOUT $500 PER WINDOW. THIS IS CRAZY FOR THE CONSUMER TO HAVE TO PAY FOR A FAULTY PRODUCT. I HAVE CONTACTED JEEP, BUT THEY DO NOT SEEM CONCERNED. I AM SHOCKED AND SADDENED TO FIND SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THING AND FOR CHRYSLER/JEEP NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. *TR
2007 JEEP LIBERTY - THE MANUFACTURER REDESIGNED THE WINDOW REGULATOR, KNOWING FULL WELL IT WAS FAULTY. I AM NOW BEING TOLD BY LIBERTY OWNERS & LOCAL AUTO MECHANICS THAT THIS IS A COMMON DEFECT WITH THIS JEEP. WHEN I WENT TO REORDER THE ROTARY I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO ORDER THE NEWLY REDESIGNED VERSION AND THAT VERSION REQUIRED A WINDOW REPLACEMENT & A LABEL THAT INDICATED THE WINDOW & REGULATOR HAD BEEN REPLACED. THE TOTAL COST IS $423.00. I AM A SINGLE GIRL ON A TIGHT BUDGET AND I BOUGHT THIS JEEP 3 MONTHS AGO, NOT REALIZING THAT ALL OF MY REGULATORS WOULD BREAK. TO DATE, MY DRIVER REGULATOR AND MY LEFT PASSENGER SIDE REGULATOR HAVE BROKE. I'M LOOKING AT $846.00 TO FIX THIS AND I BELIEVE THIS MANUFACTURER SHOULD HAVE RECALLED THIS PART. I AM GOING TO FILE A LAW SUIT AS WELL. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO REPLACE THESE WINDOWS; SO I'VE BEEN DUCT TAPING THEM SHUT. THE DUCT TAPE ONLY LASTS FOR A WEEK, SO IN BETWEEN, I FIND MYSELF TRYING TO HOLD THE WINDOW UP WHILE I'M DRIVING, SO IT DOESN'T FALL AND SMASH INSIDE THE PANEL, UNTIL I CAN GET TO MY HOME AND PUT NEW TAPE ON IT. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS THAT THE MANUFACTURER KNOWS THE GLASS WILL SHATTER, THAT'S WHY YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE WINDOW AND YET NO RECALL? PLEASE GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS GET INVOLVED WITH THIS ONE AND HOLD THIS MANUFACTURE RESPONSIBLE!!! *TR
WINDOW REGULATOR IS FAULTY IN 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. ACCORDING TO THE JEEP DEALER, THE REGULATOR HAS BEEN REDESIGNED, BUT THE OWNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL REPLACEMENT COSTS. THE WINDOW CAN BE SLID UP AND DOWN BY ANYONE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE INCLUDING CHILDREN (MY 3 YEAR-OLD DID IT FROM HER CAR SEAT). THERE IS A THEFT CONSEQUENCE AND ALSO A CONSEQUENCE WITH CHILDREN NEXT TO THESE WINDOWS THAT CAN AND HAVE FAILED. *TR
REPLACED THE REAR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR AND GLASS FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS YEAR. THEY ASSURED ME IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN AFTER THE FIRST REPAIR SINCE THEY USED AM IMPROVED PART. DEALER STATES THIS TIME JEEP KNOWS OF THIS DEFECT BUT "CAN'T FIND A SUPPLIER WITH DECENT PARTS" SO PEOPLE ARE FORCED TO MAKE THE SAME REPAIR OVER AND OVER. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I AM UNABLE TO CLOSE THE WINDOW, CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN DRIVING AND PARKING THE VEHICLE IN LOTS. *TR
MY CAR WAS PARKED OVERNIGHT AND THE NEXT MORNING, MY DRIVER SIDE FRONT WINDOW WAS ALL THE WAY DOWN EVEN THOUGH I HAD LEFT IT UP. 2 DAYS LATER, AFTER I FINISHED WORK, I WENT TO MY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT AND MY REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WAS ALL THE WAY DOWN AND WOULDN'T ROLL BACK UP( AGAIN, I HAD LEFT IT IN THE UP POSITION) THESE ARE POWER WINDOWS. APPARENTLY THE WINDOW REGULATORS MALFUNCTIONED AND BROKE EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE UNDER NO STRESS.( I ALMOST NEVER USE MY REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW). AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE, THIS PROBLEM IS APPARENTLY PREVALENT FOR 2007 JEEP LIBERTY'S. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS MALFUNCTION IS THAT IT LEFT THE VALUABLES IN MY CAR UNSECURED AND I WAS LUCKY THAT THEY WERE STILL THERE WHEN I GOT TO MY CAR. THE MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM IS THAT IF THE WINDOWS DROP WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, IT COULD STARTLE A DRIVER AND MAKE THEM THINK THEY WERE HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE OR OBJECT CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER AS IT TRULY IS RAMPANT FOR MOST JEEP LIBERTY 2007 OWNERS. THANK YOU. *TR
2007 JEEP LIBERTY SP WAGON REAR DIFFERENTIAL PLUG CAME OUT LOSING ALL THE FLUIDS. *DT
I PURCHASED A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY IN 2008. IN OCTOBER 2009, THE WINDOW REGULATOR (THE CONTROL MECHANISM THAT ALLOWS MY WINDOW TO GO UP OR DOWN) ON MY REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW BROKE. I HAD IT DIAGNOSED BY THE CAR DEALER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM WHO WIRED THE BASE OF THE WINDOW TO THE DOOR FRAME TEMPORARILY TO PROTECT THE INTERIOR FROM THE ELEMENTS. MY WARRANTY EXPIRED BECAUSE I WAS OVER ON THE MILEAGE. I TOOK IT TO CHARLIES IN AUGUSTA, MAINE WHO STATED IT IS NOT ON RECALL, THEREFORE I WOULD BE REQUIRED TO HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM FOR A FEE BEFORE THEY WOULD FIX IT. THEN THE REPAIR WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $300. THEN IN DECEMBER, 2009 THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE. AGAIN, THE CAR DEALER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM WIRED THE BASE OF THE WINDOW TO THE DOOR FRAME, AS IT WAS SNOWING OUTSIDE, TO PROTECT THE INTERIOR FROM THE ELEMENTS. I SPOKE WITH AN EMPLOYEE AT NEWCASTLE CHRYSLER WHO STATED THEY HAVE REDESIGNED THE REGULATOR AND WINDOW BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM AND NOT ONLY THE REGULATOR, BUT THE GLASS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AT A COST OF $357. I AM TOLD I CANNOT INSPECT MY VEHICLE, BECAUSE OF THE FRONT WINDOW NOT OPERATING PROPERLY, THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I CONSIDER THE REAR WINDOW TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL. IF A CHILD WERE IN A CHILD SEAT IN THE BACK SEAT AND THE WINDOW DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, IT COULD BECOME HAZARDOUS. THEREFORE, I AM REQUESTING THIS BE INVESTIGATED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO RECEIVING A REPLY. YOU CAN CONTACT ME OR BY MAIL AT SUSAN BOURGET. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH. THERE WAS A NOISE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW SLID DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE IN OPERATION. THE WINDOW WAS MANUALLY MOVED IN AN UPWARD POSITION AND SECURED WITH TAPE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THE MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THIS TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
IN 2007 JEEP LIBERTY, THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR BREAKS CAUSING THE WINDOW TO DROP OPEN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES ON MY VEHICLE WITHIN THE LAST YEAR. THIS COULD BE HAZARDOUS IF IT HAPPENED DURING A STORM OR IN OTHER SITUATIONS WHERE SAFETY DEMANDS THE WINDOW REMAIN CLOSED. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED, WE WERE JUST DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. NO ONE WAS TOUCHING THE WINDOW CONTROLS AND SUDDENLY THE WINDOW BEGAN TO DROP SLOWLY. THE TIME BEFORE, THE WINDOW DROPPED SUDDENLY AND QUICKLY. AGAIN, NO ONE WAS OPERATING THE CONTROLS AT THAT TIME. *TR
07 JEEP LIBERTY REAR DRIVER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED. WINDOW HAS FALLEN INTO THE DOOR. PLASTIC COMPONENTS HAVE A HIGH RATE OF FAILURE. RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET REVEALS THAT THIS FAILURE HAPPENS OFTEN ON THIS VEHICLE. LOSS OF THE WINDOW CAN RESULT IN PERSONAL DANGER IN CASE OF ACCIDENT OR INCLEMENT WEATHER. PERSONAL SAFETY IS ALSO COMPROMISED WHEN YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO KEEP THE WINDOWS UP. LOSS OF CONTENTS OF THE VEHICLE IS POSSIBLE IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN WHILE THE LIBERTY IS LEFT UNATTENDED. MY "FIX" WAS TO WIRE THE WINDOW SHUT. AFTERMARKET PARTS ARE AVAILBLE ON EBAY AND OTHER INTERNET STORES. JEEP'S FIX IS TO REPLACE THE WINDOW AND THE REGULATOR WITH PARTS FROM THE PREVIOUS MODEL LIBERTY'S PARTS BIN(A BETTER MADE DESIGN). JEEP NEEDS TO RECALL THIS AND MAKE THE REPAIR AT THEIR EXPENSE. *CN
2007 JEEP LIBERTY INTERLOCKING STEERING CABLE ON AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BREAKS VERY EASILY CAUSING KEY TO REMAIN IN ON POSITION AND CAR TO GET STUCK IN GEAR. *TR
ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND WITHIN 4 MONTHS OF ONE ANOTHER BOTH REAR WINDOW ASSEMBLIES FAILED CAUSING THE WINDOWS TO SLIDE DOWN INTO THE DOOR. THIS IS DURING THE OPERATION OF THE WINDOW. IT APPEARS TO BE A DEFECTIVE PART/DESIGN. JEEP SERVICE DEPT IS NOW REPLACING THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY INCLUDING WINDOW AT COST TO THE CUSTOMER.*TR
I WAS LOOKING AT OTHER COMPLAINTS AND NOTICED A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS. WE REPAIRED ONE WINDOW AND ARE SAVING UP TO REPAIR THE NEXT. IT IS ABSURD HOW MUCH THIS COSTS TO REPAIR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. IN OCTOBER OF 2009 THE LEFT REAR PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THE TECHNICIAN ADJUSTED THE BASE TO THE DOOR FRAME WITH A WIRE AS A TEMPORARY REPAIR. ON DECEMBER OF 2009 THE DRIVER-SIDE DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR ALSO FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANT, SO THE ESTIMATED COST FOR THE REPAIR WAS $300.00. THERE WAS A NEW RE-DESIGNED REGULATOR THAT COST $357.00. THE MANUFACTURER TOOK A REPORT 19184879. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
WHEN REFUELING OUR 2007 JEEP LIBERTY, FUEL OVERFLOWS AFTER FUEL PUMP AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF IS TRIGGERED. THIS OVERFLOW NOW OCCURS EVERY TIME VEHICLE IS REFUELED. NO ONE IS ATTEMPTING TO "TOP OFF" THE FUEL TANK. THE OVERFLOW CAUSES A QUANTITY OF FUEL, WHICH I ESTIMATE AT TWO TO FOUR CUPS, TO SPILL ON THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND ONTO THE GROUND. THIS FUEL OVERFLOW FLAW CREATES AN EXTREME FIRE HAZARD AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTAMINATION RISK. THIS FLAW OCCURS IN THE WRANGLER MODEL OF CHRYSLER JEEP PRODUCTS ALSO, WHERE A RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. THE SAME FLAW IS OCCURRING IN MANY THOUSANDS OF JEEP LIBERTY'S AS IS EVIDENT BY THE HUGE VOLUME OF OWNER STATEMENTS POSTED ON MANY WEBSITES. THIS WAS AN OCCASIONAL PROBLEM THAT HAS NOW BECOME CONSISTENT. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PREDICT AND WITHOUT A RECALL NOTICE, CONSUMERS ARE UNAWARE OF THIS HAZARD. THIS FLAW CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD FOR THE PERSON REFUELING THE VEHICLE AND ANYONE NEARBY (SPECIFICALLY MY CHILDREN WHO ARE OFTEN WITH ME WHEN FUELING OUR JEEP). THE FUEL SPILLED HAS CAUSED PROPERTY DAMAGE IN THE FORM OF RUINED CLOTHING AND SHOES, AND POSSIBLY DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AS FUEL RUNS DOWN THE SIDE INTO CREVICES AROUND THE REAR WHEEL AND AXLE. WHY WOULD THE MANUFACTURER COVER THIS FLAW UNDER WARRANTY FOR ONE MAKE AND MODEL, THE JEEP WRANGLER, AND NOT COVER THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM FOR ANOTHER MAKE AND MODEL, THE JEEP LIBERTY? IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM CREATED BY THE SAME MANUFACTURER. *TR
2007 JEEP LIBERTY GAS BEGAN OVERFLOWING AFTER GAS TANK FILL UP AND PUMP AUTO SHUT OFF. THE GAS FLIES OUT. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME NOW. IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW FAR THE NOZZLE IS IN OR WHICH GAS STATION. *TR
THIRD FAILURE - 2007 JEEP LIBERTY - WINDOW REGULATOR FAILS OFTEN. WIDOW REGULATOR FAILURE CREATES A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF DOOR IS JAMMED THUS SECONDARY METHOD OF EGRESS IS UNAVAILABLE. ALSO EXPENSIVE FIX: REPAIR IS OVER $600 PER WINDOW. REPAIRED WINDOWS (UP UNTIL MID-2009) REPAIRED WITH SAME DEFECTIVE REGULATOR AND WOULD FAIL AGAIN. NEW REGULATOR DESIGN CAME OUT MID-2009. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT RETURNED TO HER PARKED VEHICLE AND NOTICED THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WAS INSIDE THE DOOR PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MOTOR FOR THE WINDOW NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE HAD SINCE RECURRED ON TWO OCCASIONS, ONCE ON EACH REAR WINDOW. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000.
DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE ON OUR 2007 JEEP LIBERTY AND NOW THE WINDOW WILL NOT STAY UP. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE OPEN WINDOW ALLOWS FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE THUS DISTRACTING THE DRIVER FROM THE FOCUS OF DRIVING. THIS ALSO PRESENTS VANDALISM AND THEFT ISSUES. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $300+ TO REPLACE NOT JUST THE PART BUT THE ENTIRE WINDOW ASSEMBLY INCLUDING GLASS, TO SAY NOTHING OF THE LABOR COSTS. I HAVE READ IN SEVERAL PLACES OF HUNDREDS OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS AND HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL OF THIS COMPONENT. *TR
MY DRIVERS SIDE FRONT WINDOW FELL INTO DOOR AND I WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP IT WOULD COST ME $375 FOR THE REGULATOR AND $250 IN LABOR. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOT EVEN SEEN THE WINDOW BUT KNEW WHAT IT WAS BECAUSE OF HOW OFTEN THEY SEE THIS IN JEEP LIBERTY. WHY ISN'T THIS A RECALL? WILL I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE REMAINDER OF MY WINDOWS AS WELL? *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE LEFT REAR WINDOW FELL DOWN INTO THE DOOR. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE REGULATOR WHEEL WAS BROKE. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT GOT BROKEN. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER BECAUSE MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED AND THE COST WOULD BE HIGH FOR THE PARTS AND LABOR. *TR
FOR THE 3RD TIME, THE WINDOW OF MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY HAS STOPPED WORKING AND IS DROPPING INTO THE DOOR! WINDOW REGULATORS BREAK CAUSING THE WINDOW TO DROP DOWN WITH NO WAY OF RAISING IT BACK UP. *TR
THE WINDOW REGULATORS ON ALL FOUR WINDOWS KEEP FAILING AND CAUSE THE CABLE TO EXIT OUT OF THE LOCKING MECHANISM. THIS IN TURN GIVES THE DOOR THE APPEARANCE OF BEING CLOSED. THE DOOR CAN SWING OPEN AND CAUSE THE PASSENGER TO FLY OUT. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPEN MY CHILD WAS IN THE BACK SEAT WITH THE PROPER RESTRAINTS BUT JUST SEEING THE DOOR OPEN SCARED THE YOU KNOW WHAT OUT OF ME. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME I WAS STILL COVERED SO THEY CHANGED THE REGULATOR ON ALL FOUR WINDOWS AND SAID ALL WAS FINE. A YEAR LATER THE SAME WINDOW DID THE SAME THING SO AGAIN I WENT TO THE DEALER BUT THIS TIME THE STORY WAS DIFFERENT. NOT ONLY WAS MY REGULATOR BAD BUT MY WINDOW ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS FAILURE ACCURS IN OVER 75 % OF THE JEEP VEHICLES AND ONCE THE PART IS REPLACED CAN FAIL AGAIN WITHIN A MONTH. FOUR MONTHS LATER THE RIGHT FRONT WINDOW REGULATOR BROKE ON ITS OWN. NO ONE WAS IN THE SUV WHEN IT LET THE WINDOW DROP OPEN. THE PART FOR THIS WINDOW TOOK ONLY FIVE DAYS TO REACH THE DEALERSHIP AND THE VERY DAY THAT IT WAS REPLACED THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR WINDOW REGULATOR LET THE WINDOW DROP AND I COULD NOT GET IT TO COME BACK UP. FINALLY USED A PAIR OF NEEDLENOSE PLIERS TO GET HOLD OF IT AND THEN TAPE IT UP. OF COURSE, THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HAVE THIS PART IN STOCK. THIS IS SIMPLY A JOKE AND THE FACT THAT JEEP HAS NOT HAD A RECALL ON THESE WINDOW REGULATORS SHOULD BE A CRIME. THE VEHICLE IS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY LIMITED THAT HAD A STICKER PRICE OF $25,000. HOWEVER, IT WAS ONLY EXTENDED TO SEVEN YEARS FROM THE DATE OF SERVICE, WHICH IN HER CASE WAS JULY 2, 2007. ON MARCH 15, 2011, THE RIGHT REAR WINDOW WAS REPAIRED AFTER FALLING DOWN. ON JUNE 13, 2013, THE LEFT REAR WINDOW WAS REPAIRED FOR A SECOND TIME, AND ON AUGUST 21, 2014 THE LEFT FRONT WINDOW FAILED AGAIN. *JB

THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND THE WINDOW REGULATORS NEED TO BE UPDATED WITH A BETTER DESIGN. WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE A BAD MOUNTING PART MADE A PLASTIC THAT BREAKS. THIS CAUSES THE WINDOW GLASS TO DROP DOWN INTO THE DOOR UNEXPECTEDLY. SO FAR I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN ON ALL OF THE DOORS AND THE PART CHRYSLER WAS SENDING WAS ALSO DEFECTIVE. NOW THEY ARE PUSHING A PART THAT REQUIRES THE GLASS TO BE REPLACED ALSO. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. *TR
