THE REAR BRAKES AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE KEEP FAILING. WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE REAR BRAKES 6-7 TIMES SINCE WE HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE AND NOW NEEDS IT AGAIN IN LESS THAN 7 MONTHS. WE DON'T EVEN USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SO WHY DOES IT KEEP WEARING OUT? WE HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE ROTORS AND ARE READY TO DO SO AGAIN. IS THIS FAULTY PARTS ON THE JEEP OR WHAT? WE HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE AN EMERGENCY BRAKE ON ANY OTHER VEHICLE WE HAVE OWNED BEFORE. NOW IT SEEMS LIKE THIS IS GOING TO BE AN EVERY 6 MONTH EXPENSE WE CAN'T AFFORD. *TR
THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE (N46 / NHTSA 13V-252) SINCE AT LEAST JUNE OF 2013 WITH CHRYSLER AGREEING TO INSTALL A NEW PART TO CORRECT / PROTECT AGAINST THE PROBLEM. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT NO CORRECTIVE PART IS YET AVAILABLE AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE. WITHIN THE LAST 2 MONTHS I DID FINALLY RECEIVE A STANDARD LETTER FROM CHRYSLER NOTIFYING ME OF THIS "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" SAYING THEY WERE MAKING "ALL REASONABLE EFFORTS TO OBTAIN THE (CORRECTIVE) PARTS AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE." THEY GAVE NO DATE AS TO WHEN THEY WOULD BE AVAILABLE. AGAIN ON 6/23/2014 I TOOK MY JEEP IN FOR SERVICE AND REQUESTED THEY MAKE THE PROMISED CORRECTION. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THEY COULD NOT, THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART, AND HAD NO IDEA WHEN THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO CORRECT MY VEHICLES PROBLEM. I FIND THIS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. IT HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR NOW, AT LEAST, SINCE THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED AND MY VEHICLE STILL HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND CHRYSLER CANNOT EVEN TELL ME WHEN THEY MIGHT BE ABLE TO MAKE THE REPAIR. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE RECALL REPORT DATE WAS JUNE 19, 2013 AND THERE SHOULD BE A PART AVAILABLE BEFORE SEPTEMBER OF 2014. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE COILS AND SPARK PLUGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

WHEN FUELING MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY, ONCE THE TANK REACHES THE FULL POINT IT BURPS OUT APPROXIMATELY 1 TO 3 CUPS OF GAS WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO SPILL ON ME, IF I AM NOT STANDING TO THE SIDE. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WHERE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND STATED NO RECALL WAS IN EFFECT. I FEEL THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY RECALL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FUEL CANISTER AND ESIM SWITCH NEED TO BE REPLACE FOR THE COST OF $250.00. AS A RETIRED FIREFIGHTER I AM SURPRISED THAT THIS SITUATION HAS NOT BE ADDRESSED NHTSA.DUE TO THE POTENTIAL OF GAS SPILLS AND POTENTIAL FIRE AT GAS STATIONS. NOT TO MENTION EPA IMPACTS. *TR
GEAR/WORM DRIVE FAILED AND WINDOW POPPED OFF TRACK, HAD TO REPAIR OUT OF POCKET AS DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT COVER. *TR
JEEP SENT A VOLUNTARY RECALL LETTER IN APRIL OF 2013 ABOUT THE FUEL TANK POSSIBLY ERUPTING DURING A REAR END CRASH. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY STILL HAVE NO PARTS FOR THIS RECALL (15 MONTHS LATER). THE VERY LAST SENTENCE SAYS,".....WE ARE EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR SAFETY." APPARENTLY, JEEP (CHRYSLER) IS NOT REAL CONCERNED. HOW MANY PEOPLE NEED TO DIE BEFORE SOMEONE MAKES THEM DO THE RIGHT THING? *TR
ON 3/19/13 THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW DROPPED INTO THE DOOR FRAME WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING, SITTING IN DRIVEWAY. VEHICLE REPAIRED UNDER 2006/2007 RECALL BY DEALER. ON 7/16/14 THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW DROPPED INTO THE DOOR-FRAME AND THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING THE DRIVEWAY AGAIN. THIS WAS REPORTED TO CHRYSLER CLAIMS AND THE AUGUST DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP DEALERSHIP AT 1201 GREENVILLE AVE, STAUNTON, VA 24401 (540)885-0875 ON 7/16/14. SPOKE TO JULIE, EMPLOYEE ID JE779 REFUSED CLAIM ON 7/16/14, BECAUSE OF MILEAGE. SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE WINDOW WAS NEVER PROPERLY REPAIRED ON THE FORMER RECALL. ON BOTH OCCASIONS THE WINDOW COMPLETELY JUST FELL OUT ON ITS OWN, JUST SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND WINDOWS DO NOT JUST FALL OUT. I AM REQUESTING THAT THIS MODIFICATION BE CORRECT AND COMPLETE AND REIMBURSED BY THE ABOVE DEALER WHICH DID NOT DO A COMPLETE REPAIR THE FIRST TIME. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE LEFT THE BOTTOM BALL JOINT FRONT DRIVER SIDE. BECAUSE OF THIS SPLIT THE WHEEL AND TIRE. THEY STRIDE THE DIRECTION AND LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE DEALER IN PUERTO RICO INFORMS ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAS NO RECALLS AND IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT USA HAS PASSED THIS SAME INCIDENT. *TR

I RECEIVED A NOTICE OF A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE IN FEB. IT IS NOW JUNE AND EVEN THOUGH I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES THEY ARE UNABLE TO PROCEED AS THE PARTS NEEDED ARE NOT AVAILABLE. WHO DO I NEED TO CONTACT FOR THIS ISSUE? *TR
I BOUGHT THE JEEP FROM A FRIEND LAST FALL AND THIS PROBLEM DIDN'T EXIST UNTIL ABOUT 4 MONTHS AFTER I HAD IT. I ALWAYS FILL MY TANK WHEN I STOP FOR FUEL AND THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, WHILE THE TANK WAS FILLING, I WASHED THE WINDOWS. WHEN IT WAS ALMOST FULL (I COULD TELL BY THE AMOUNT ON THE PUMP), I GRABBED THE NOZZLE AND GOT READY TO SQUEEZE THE LAST BIT IN BY HAND AFTER IT SHUT OFF. WELL, IT DIDN'T SHUT OFF AND GAS CAME POURING OUT, ALL OVER THE VEHICLE, SPLASHING MY CLOTHES AND SHOES! I THOUGHT IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE PUMP, SO I BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENDANTS ATTENTION & WASHED THE SIDE OF THE JEEP OFF. NEXT TIME I WENT TO A DIFFERENT STATION & THE SAME THING HAPPENED, SO I DIDN'T 'SET' THE PUMP HANDLE ANYMORE....I HELD IT MYSELF AND PUT MY EAR CLOSE SO I COULD HEAR WHEN IT WAS ALMOST FULL. MOST OF THE TIME IT WORKED, BUT IT STILL CAME SPEWING OUT OTHER TIMES. THE OTHER NIGHT WHILE HAVING DINNER WITH FRIENDS, ONE OF THE GALS THAT WORKS AT DMV, WHO ALSO HAS A LIBERTY, TOLD ME ABOUT THE RECALLS ON MY MODEL JEEP. I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND HE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT THE ONE HAD ALREADY BEEN TAKEN CARE OF THE MONTH BEFORE I PICKED IT UP AND THE GAS TANK ISSUE DIDN'T APPLY TO MY MODEL! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I JUST FINISHED TELLING HIM THAT IT SPEWS GAS OUT EVERY TIME I FILL UP IF I'M NOT EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH HOW FULL IT GETS! IT WAS REPLACE ONCE BY THE DEALER AT NO COST, BUT WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN THIS TIME THEY SAID ITS NOT COVERED AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO GET IT FIXED. THE CAR HAS LOW MILEAGE ONE DRIVER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL WOULD SPILL WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REFUELED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL SENSOR HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. WHILE USING THE PASSENGER SIDE BACK POWER WINDOW OPERATOR TO CLOSE THE WINDOW THERE WAS A CLICK AND THE WINDOW BEGAN TO SLOWLY SINK BACK INTO THE DOOR. THE CAR WAS PARKED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THIS IS MY SECOND WINDOW REGULATOR TO GO BAD. THE DRIVER'S SIDE BACK WINDOW REGULATOR HAS ALSO GONE BAD. IT WAS SCHEDULED FOR REPAIR. *TR
REAR WINDOW FELL INTO DOOR WHILE DRIVING. WINDOW REGULATORS FAIL RANDOMLY AND JEEP IS NOT OFFERING A SOLUTION. THIS IS THE 5TH FAILURE OF THE WINDOWS ON MY 2007 JEEP. ALL WINDOWS HAVE FAILED AND BEEN REPLACED, NOW THE REPLACEMENTS ARE FAILING. *TR
MY GAS TANK OVERFLOWS WONT SHUT OFF AT THE PUMP BEEN RECALLED 2 TIMES I TOOK IT IN SET THERE FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET IN TOUCH WITH ME BEEN MONTHS AGAIN TWIN CITY DODGE IN LAFAYETTE SUPPOSE TO PUT A HITCH BEHIND TANK. *TR
EVERYTIME I FILL THE GAS TANK, IT DOES NOT SHUT OFF WHEN THE FUEL REACHES THE NOZZLE. THE GAS SHOOTS OUT AND RUNS DOWN THE CAR. IT HAS GOT ON MY CLOTHES AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I HOPE YOU CAN GET THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED SOON. *TR
THIS IS A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE FUEL ISSUE THAT I HAVE SEEN ON HERE ALREADY.WHEN I GO TO PUT FUEL INTO THE GAS TANK, IT WILL NOT STOP AT THE END AS IT'S FILLING UP. IT JUST OVERFLOWS. I WOULD SAY AT LEAST A FEW CUPS OF FUEL FLOWS DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND DOWN INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE AND WHEEL WELL. I KNOW THAT AT SOME POINT IT WILL LEAD TO RUST/CORROSION AMONG MANY OTHER ISSUES. I REALLY WISH THIS COULD BE LOOKED AT AND POSSIBLY FIXED BY MANUFACTURER. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT THERE ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE, WITH NO HELP FROM THE MANUFACTURER. I ALSO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS AS OTHERS WITH THE WINDOWS. THE REGULATOR HAS A PIECE THAT BREAKS AND THEN THE WHOLE REGULATOR HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES ALREADY ON DIFFERENT WINDOWS. LASTLY, I JUST RECENTLY HAD AN ISSUE WHERE THE JEEP WOULDN'T START. THE CONSOLE LIGHTS AND GUAGES WORK FINE AND IT ACTED LIKE ALL WAS WELL, BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T TURN OVER WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED. THE RESULT WAS THE IGNITION SWITCH ACTUATOR PIN. IT HAS A PIECE THAT BREAKS OFF AND WHEN THAT HAPPENS, THE JEEP WONT BE ABLE START. IT ISN'T AN EASY FIX FOR SOMEONE WHO ISN'T MECHANICALLY CAPABLE. AGAIN, THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT HAS HAPPENED TO MANY PEOPLE AND HONESTLY THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I COULD COMPLAIN ABOUT MORE, BUT LET'S JUST LEAVE IT AT THAT. *TR
WHEN FILLING MY GAS TANK TO FULL, THE FUELS FLOWS OUT OF THE FILLER TUBE BEFORE THE PUMP SHUTS OFF, CHRYSLER ACKNOWLEDGED THIS BY SENDING OUT A EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE EFFECTED PARTS FOR SOME OWNERS OF 07 AND 08 MODELS, BUT REFUSES TO ISSUES THE SAME TO MY 07 JEEP LIBERTY. WHAT GIVES? *TR
THE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND WILL NOT TURN OFF UPON HAVING IT CHECKED IT COMES UP AS AN UNKNOWN GHOST LIGHT. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED FROM A LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN OCTOBER OF 2012, WHEN I WENT TO FILL THE FUEL TANK THE FUEL FILLER NECK DID NOT REGISTER WHEN IT WAS FULL CAUSING GASOLINE TO SPLASH BACK OUT ON MYSELF, VEHICLE, AND GROUND. I EMAILED DAIMLER CHRYSLER JEEP IN REGARDS TO THIS AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALLS AND EVEN IF THERE WERE MY VEHICLE WAS TO OLD. I FIND THIS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE AND FEEL IT SHOULD BE CORRECTED. *TR
WHENEVER I GO TO FILL UP MY JEEP, AFTER THE PUMP KICKS OFF, GAS SPEWS OUT ALL OVER THE SIDE OF IT. I HAVE FILLED UP AT DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND IT DOES IT AT ALL OF THE. *TR
WHEN GOING TO PUT THE DRIVERS WINDOW DOWN, I ACCIDENTALLY PUSHED THE SWITCH FOR THE BACK SEAT WINDOW BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT. WHEN I HIT THE SWITCH IT MADE A FUNNY NOISE. SO, I LEFT THE WINDOW ALONE WITH PLANS TO GET IT FIXED. THE WINDOW WAS UP AT THIS POINT. I WENT TO WORK AND WHEN I RETURNED TO MY CAR AT THE END OF THE DAY, THE WINDOW WAS ALL THE WAY DOWN. I ATTEMPTED TO PUT IT UP USING THE SWITCH AND IT MADE THE SAME FUNNY NOISE. *TR
I OWN A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY SPORT, WITH NO WARRANTY. A FEW MONTHS AGO, THE REAR, DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR AND MOTOR WENT BAD AND I HAD TO REPLACE THIS OUT OF POCKET. WHAT IS MORE FRUSTRATING IS THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY DRIVER FRONT WIDOW NOW. SINCE MY LAST REPAIR, LARRY H. MILLER JEEP IN SANDY UTAH HAS INFLATED THE PRICE OF THE PART. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THIS AT MY COST. THIS MAKES THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME PART! I AM ASKING FOR A RECALL AND FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THIS AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO ME. I PURCHASED A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY LIMITED EDITION 4X4 ON MAY 26, 2012 FROM LOCAL DEALERSHIP. ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2012, I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND REAR PASSENGER WINDOW HAD SLID HALF WAY DOWN THROUGH THE NIGHT. DISCOVERED FROM INTERNET RESEARCH THAT PLASTIC PARTS ARE FAULTY AND KNOWN BY CHRYSLER FOR YEARS. YET NO RECALL MADE TO CORRECT THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM. REPLACING WITH SAME PLASTIC PARTS IS NO SOLUTION. MY CONCERN IS SAFETY AND SECURITY. WHY HAVE AN ALARM SYSTEM WHEN ANY OR ALL FOUR WINDOWS ARE PRONE TO FAILURE? WE HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED ON 07/30/2012 AT A AUTHORIZED JEEP SERVICE CENTER DEALERSHIP REGARDING THIS PROBLEM, MODULE AND ASSOCIATED WIRING WERE REPLACED AT OUR COST. THIS DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. WE DIDN'T RESOLVE THE ISSUE ANY FURTHER UNTIL NOW, SINCE WE WERE NOT SATISFIED WITH OUR EXPERIENCE AT THIS SERVICE CENTER DEALERSHIP. TODAY WE CONTACTED ANOTHER LOCAL AUTHORIZED JEEP SERVICE CENTER DEALERSHIP AND THE DAIMLER CHRYSLER RECALL CENTER REGARDING THE N46 RECALL [GASOLINE STORAGE TANK ASSEMBLY/HITCH] AND THE PREVIOUS F50 RECALL. BOTH SAID THE F50 RECALL IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH FOR OUR VIN. HOWEVER, AFTER DOING SOME FURTHER INVESTIGATION ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE IT SEEMS THE F50 RECALL IS ASSIGNED TO 2007 JEEP LIBERTY 2WD ONLY. THEREFORE, IT APPEARS THAT THIS MAY BE THE REASON OUR VEHICLE IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE IS RECALL AND WE MUST NOW PAY OUT OF POCKET AGAIN TO FIX THIS MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. THREE MONTHS AFTER RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE THE VEHICLE STILL HAD NOT BEEN REMEDIED AND THE PARTS WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
WINDOW MOTOR/LIFT HAS BROKEN ON 3 WINDOWS OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS: DRIVER, PASSENGER AND THE MOST RECENT (YESTERDAY) IS THE REAR DRIVER. TWO DIFFERENT REPAIR PLACES HAVE ADVISED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH JEEP LIBERTY, AND THE PART WAS A DESIGN FLAW. THE LAST ONE REPLACED WAS JUST UNDER $400. THE QUOTE I RECEIVED TO FIX THE DRIVER REAR WAS $494. MORE IMPORTANT IS THE FACT THAT REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE PART ISN'T A FIX, SIMPLY A DELAY UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AS THE REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE ALL DEFECTIVE AS WELL. THE DRIVER WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR WHEN THE CABLE BROKE THAT MAKES THE WINDOW GO UP AND DOWN. I PURCHASED MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY ON FRIDAY. TWO DAYS LATER MY DAUGHTER ROLLED THE BACK WINDOW UP AND IT CAME OFF TRACK. I TOOK MY JEEP BACK TO THE CAR LOT, THEY PAID TO HAVE THE WINDOW FIXED AT A PORT CITY GLASS. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE REGULATOR AND THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE SEEN WITH THE JEEP LIBERTY. THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED LAST YEAR WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND ROLLED THE WINDOW UP. THE WINDOW WOULD NOT ROLL UP AND MADE NOISES. I TOOK THE JEEP BACK TO PORT CITY GLASS FOR AN ESTIMATION. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE APPROX. $230. I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY FOR THE REPAIR AND OPTED TO BLOCK IT OFF FOR NOW. I STRUGGLED TO REMAIN IN MY LINE, AND HAD TREMENDOUS DIFFICULTY STEERING AND WASN'T ABLE TO BRAKE AS EASILY. I FLEW ACROSS THREE LANES OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND ALMOST HIT A WALL. WHEN I EXITED MY VEHICLE I FOUND THAT MY LOWER BALL JOINT HAD BROKEN, CAUSING MY TIRE TO EXPLODE. *TR
