IT WOULDN'T LET ME CLICK ON MULTIPLE OTHER OPTIONS LIKE THE WINDSHIELD. SNOW BLOWS THROUGH THE FRONT VENT SOMETIMES AS I'M DRIVING IF I HAVE IT ON REGULAR HEAT OR DEFROST. THE BREAKS HAVE ALWAYS SQUEAKED SINCE I GOT THE VEHICLE IN 2018. I HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE SEATBELT TO GET IT TO LOCK IN PLACE. THE WHEEL SOMETIMES TURNS ON ITS OWN RANDOMLY TO THE LEFT AND THE SUSPENSION IS REALLY OFF AND BOUNCY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, A LOUD SCRAPING NOISE WAS DETECTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR HEAT SHIELD FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 91,000.
WHEN TRYING TO UNLOCK WITH REMOTE KEY, HORN BLARES, WIPERS GO, WASHER FLUID SPRAYS, LOCKS GO HAYWIRE. HAPPENS REGULARLY NOW, ALSO STARTED WHILE IDLING FOR AWHILE. CONCERN IS THAT IT WILL DO THIS WHEN DRIVING SOON. ON ONE OCCASION I STARTED VEHICLE BUT IT WOULD NOT TURN OFF WHILE DOING THIS. HAPPENED A LEAST A DOZEN TIMES IN LAST 6-8 WEEKS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 LIBERTY. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE SKY SLIDER ROOF TOP MALFUNCTIONED AND ERRONEOUSLY CRACKED OPEN. IT WAS LATER DISCOVERED THAT THE TOP COULD NOT BE CLOSED PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DAYTONA DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP(1450 N. TOMOKA FARMS RD, DAYTONA BEACH, FL) WHO INDICATED THAT THE REPAIRS FOR THE SKY SLIDER ROOF TOP WERE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED TWO YEARS PREVIOUSLY FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE SKY SLIDER OPEN AND THE WIND SNAPPED THE ROOF OFF OF THE TRACKS CAUSING IT TO FLY BACK. I PUT A WIND DAMAGE CLAIM INTO USAA AND WAS DENIED AS THEY FEEL IT IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND THE ROOF WAS POORLY MADE UNABLE TO WITHSTAND NORMAL DRIVING SPEEDS. AFTER A NATIONWIDE SEARCH THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND REPLACEMENT PARTS AND THE VEHICLE IS ROOFLESS AND NOT ABLE TO BE DRIVEN.
EVERY TIME WE REFILL THE GAS IT COME OUT LIKE THE CAR IS BURPING..MAKING IMPOSIBLE TO NO DROP GAS IT GOING DOWN OVER THE MUFLE..HAPPENED PARKING ENGING OFFIN ANY GAS STATION MY MECHANIC TOLD ME IS A SMALL VALVE E IN THE NECK OF THE TANK BUT THE TANK IS PLASTIC SO ILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE TANK..WHOLE SET SOMETHING ABOUT A VALVE
I STARTED MY CAR AND MY HEADLIGHTS FLASHED ON AND OFF ABOUT 3 OR 4 TIMES. AFTER THAT HAPPENED I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET MY HEADLIGHTS TO STAY ON THE JUST FLASH AND SHUT OFF. MY FOG LIGHTS WORK PROPERLY BUT OTHER HEADLIGHTS JUST FLASH AND STAY OFF. I HAVE CHECKED FUSES/RELAYS AND NOTHING HAS CHANGED.
SKID PLATE AND STRAPS ON FUEL TANK IS RUSTING ALL APART. IT HAS RUSTED ENOUGH THERE IS HOLE YOU CAN PUT YOUR FIGURE IN AND ACTUALLY TOUCH PLASTIC TANK. THE REST OF SKID PLATE IS RUSTED SO MUCH YOU CAN SEE THE LAYERS OF THE METAL SEPARATING. VEHICLE ONLY HAD AROUND 62,000 MILES WHEN IT WAS FIST FOUND AND IT AT THIS POINT OF RUSTING. VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD AND WAS TAKEN EXCELLENT CARE OFF INCLUDING PROMPT REMOVAL OF ANY ROAD SALT. LAST 3 1/2 YEARS HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN VERY RARELY WHEN IT HAS SNOWED MORE THEN AN INCH UNTIL ROADS WERE COMPLETELY CLEAR. AS OF 3/14/2019 WHEN IT WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP TO BE CHECKED OUT THERE WERE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE AND THERE WAS NO IDEA WHEN THERE WOULD BE PER THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THEY CALLED TO CHECK ON PARTS. ESTIMATED COST FOR REPAIRS PER DEALERSHIP WILL BE ALMOST $1000.00. PER DEALERSHIP THE RUSTED SKID PLATE AND STRAPS LIVES GAS TANK VULNERABLE IN A CRASH OR TO OBJECT INTRUSION. ALSO IF STRAPS RUST ENOUGH COULD CASE GAS TANK TO DROP. PERSONALLY I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL PROBLEM SINCE IT IS NOT SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE EASILY FOUND AND COULD CAUSE DEATH OR INJURY. IT HAD NOT BEEN FOUND DURING ROUTE MAINTAINED AND I ONLY FOUND IT BY ACCIDENT WHEN IT WAS UP ON A RACK AND MECHANIC WAS SHOWING ME SOMETHING ELSE. MORE THAN LIKELY THERE IS A LARGE AMOUNT OF SAME MODEL AND YEAR VEHICLES ON ROAD WITH THIS SAME ISSUES THAT OWNERS ARE UNAWARE OF. JEEP DID A RECALL ON 2005 LIBERTY BEFORE DUE TO VULNERABILITY OF GAS TANK CONCERNING THE HITCH. AND SHOULD DO THE SAME WITH THIS AS IT LEAVES THE GAS TANK VULNERABLE AND SHOULD NEVER BE OCCURRING. IT IS STRICTLY A CASE OF USING INFERIOR MATERIAL ON A VULNERABLE PART.
TURNED VEHICLE ON AND WIPERS WERE GOING AND SWITCH WAS TURNED TO OFF, ENTERIOR LIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF, NO TURN SIGNALS, SAYS BACK GATE IS OPEN AND IT'S NOT, DOORS LOCK ON THEIR OWN, AIR BAG LIGHT SAYS OFF, BURNING SMELL, ALARM GOES OFF AT RANDOM
FUEL SPIT BACK AFTER PUTTING GAS IN FUEL TANK. IT DOESN'T MATTER HAS FAST OR SLOW GAS IS PUMP, GAS SPILLS OUT AFTER REFUELING VEHICLE. LARGE QUANTITIES OF GAS SPRAY OUT OF FILLER NECK ON PERSON, VEHICLE AND GROUND.
I HAVEN'T HAD ANYTHING HAPPENED YET BUT I HAD A LIGHT ON MY DASH THAT LED ME TO DOING SOME RESEARCH WHICH ALSO LED ME TO SOME RECALLS AND WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO OTHER PEOPLE AND IT JUST WORRIES ME ABOUT MY SAFETY AND FOR MY CHILDREN. I WAS INQUIRING ABOUT GETTING RECALL REPAIRS MADE
WHEN STARTING MY CAR IT DRIVES OKAY, BUT IF LET RUNNING ALL THE LIGHTS COME ON, AND IF I DRIVE 5 MINUTES DOWN THE ROAD IT GOES OFF AND THEN BINGS AND ALL COMES BACK ON. I AM BEING TOLD IT MAY BE MY CLOCKSPRING AND MOST 2008 JEEPS ARE EXPERIENCING THAT AFTER 100,000 MILES BUT IT IS NOT A RECALL ISSUE. I HAS THE CHECK ENGINE ON CONSTANTLY AS WELL AS THE AIRBAG SENSOR.
HEATING ISSUE. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY JEEP OWNER THAT HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM...IT SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON WITH NO REAL "FIX". THE HEAT WILL STOP WORKING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BUT CONTINUE TO WORK ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE. I HAVE CHANGED THE ACTUATOR DOORS AND FLUSHED THE HEATER CORE AS PER MECHANICS SPECIFICATIONS AND NOT EVEN A YEAR LATER WE ARE BACK TO THE HEATER CORE AGAIN WITH THE SAME ISSUE. ANOTHER JEEP WITH THE SAME ISSUE AT THE MECHANICS SAID HE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE DEALER DID ALL THE ABOVE AND HE STILL HAS ISSUES. VERY EXPENSIVE PROBLEMS TO CONSTANTLY BE HAVING WITH A JEEP ONLY TO NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE.
TAKATA RECALL, AND SUDDENLY HEARD A POP IN THE REAR, THE VEHICLE SHOOK, CUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START, LIGHNING BOLT LIGHT AND TRACTION LIGHT CAME ON. IT DID START BUT WOULD NOT GO ABOUT 20. MADE IT HOME AND PARKED. SHOP THINKS IT MAY BE DRIVE SHAFT BUT SEVERAL THINGS SHOWING UP ON MONITOR.
FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPERS AUTOMATICALLY COMES ON ONCE CAR STARTS. WIPER SWITCH IS IN THE OFF POSITION. TURNING SIGNALS HAS CEASED. THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM) IS WHAT DEFECTIVE, WHICH CAUSES A SAFETY ISSUE. SEVERAL JEEPS HAVE THIS PROBLEM & THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO FIX IT; IT'S A DEFECT.
I HAVE SEVERAL DIFFERENT ISSUES WITH MY 08 JEEP LIBERTY. THE LOCKS RANDOMLY LOCK AND UNLOCK. WHEN I USE THE LOCK BUTTON ON THE TRANSMITTER, IT'LL UNLOCK THE DOORS SOMETIMES RIGHT AFTER OR AT SOME POINT WHEN PARKED. THE HEADLIGHTS RANDOMLY COME ON AND GO OFF WHEN PARKED. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ALSO RANDOMLY ACTIVATES ON DRY PAVEMENT AND EVEN THROWS THE FRONT END OUT OF ALIGNMENT BECAUSE IT WILL BRAKE ONE WHEEL. I'VE ALMOST HAD SEVERAL ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS ENGAGING. ALSO, WHEN THE TRACTION/STABILITY CONTROL ENGAGES THERE'S A NOISE FROM THE BRAKE SYSTEM FOLLOWED BY SMOKE AT WHATEVER WHEEL IT'S TRYING TO BRAKE. I TOOK IT INTO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED MY FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS AND THAT HASN'T FIXED THE PROBLEM. NOW THEY ARE SAYING I NEED A NEW DRAFT SHAFT, TIE RODS AND A COUPLE OTHER FRONT END PIECES. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT'S WHERE THE PROBLEMS ARE COMING FROM. IT'S A SCARY SITUATION DRIVING THIS BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF I'M GOING TO MAKE IT WHERE I'M GOING BECAUSE THE STEERING CAN LOSE CONTROL BECAUSE OF THE TRACTION SYSTEM. ALSO, IT'S DEVELOPED A MAJOR LEAK IN THE HATCH AREA BY THE TOP PLASTIC PIECES WHERE IT RAINS AND THE BACK FLOOR LOOKS LIKE A SWIMMING POOL AFTER IT RAINS. I TOLD THE DEALER BUT THEY HAVE YET TO TELL ME IF THEY FOUND OUT WHY IT'S LEAKING. I ALSO REPLACED THE BLOWER FAN AND RELAY FOR THE AC THINKING THAT IT WILL FIX AN ISSUE WHERE THE AIR IN THE VENTS ARE BARELY BLOWING. NO FIX. AC IS WEAK. THE HEAT WORKS BEST WHEN IN MOTION. HEAT WILL HEAT UP WHILE DRIVING AND I FEEL LIKE I'M BEING BOILED ALIVE. HAVE TO KEEP ON HIGH TO GET ANY AIR OUT OF THE VENTS, HOWEVER. THE TRANSMISSION IS CLUNKY SHIFTING AND THE FLUID HAS BEEN CHANGED. POWER STEERING IS DIFFICULT TO TURN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS FILLING THE FUEL TANK, THE FUEL PUMP SENSOR DID NOT ALERT HER THAT THE TANK WAS FULL. AS A RESULT, FUEL SPEWED OUT OF THE TANK. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES AT DIFFERENT FUEL STATIONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE COULD NOT FILL THE FUEL TANK BECAUSE FUEL WOULD FLOW OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL STATION PUMP SENSORS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
JEEP LIBERTY SKY SLIDER LEAKS. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND JEEP HAS NOT RESOLVED. WATER RUNS INSIDE THE VEHICLE, HAS IMPACTED THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN THE ROOF TOP AND IS A HAZARD TO DRIVER AND PASSENGERS SINCE WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN DAY TO DAY. THIS WAS CLEARLY A POOR DESIGN CHOICE AND JEEP SHOULD REPAIR AND REPLACE EVERY SINGLE CLOTH ROOFTOP THAT HAS BEEN COMPROMISED. THE COST IS PROHIBITIVE AND WILL LIKELY FAIL AGAIN DUE TO THE DESIGN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE SUN ROOF WAS UNSECURED AND A RATTLING NOISE WAS PRESENT. WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN, WATER LEAKED INTO THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE FROM THE UNSECURED SUN ROOF. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. *TT*JB
THE SECURITY HORN WILL GO OFF FOR NO REASON AND IF YOU PLACE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION THAT WONT STOP IT. I HAVE READ SEVERAL REVIEWS AND OTHER HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. IT COST ME $380.00 TO GET A NEW KEY FOB AND THE RESET THE COMPUTER SYSTEM.
WINDSHEILD WIPER MOTOR/WASHER MOTOR DOESN'T WORK. THERE WAS A RECALL. BUT MY JEEP LIBERTY VIN NUMBER WASN'T INCLUDED. IT HASN'T WORKED FOR A LONG TIME. I THOUGHT IT WAS A LEAK IN THE HOSE. IT'S THE MOTOR, SO I WAS TOLD.
THE SKY SLIDER ROOF OF THE TRAIL RATED 2008 JEEP LIBERTY IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY CAUSING WATER TO COME INTO THE VEHICLE AND STAINING THE INTERIOR. IT ALSO HAS WIND HITTING IT ENOUGH TO PUSH BACK AND EVENTUALLY FALL OFF GOING ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS IS A HAZARD FOR EVERYONE ON THE ROAD.
FRONT BRAKES COME ON WHILE DRIVING AND ABS CAUSES FRONT END TO SHAKE. BRAKES ARE SO HOT THE THE PADS ARE BURNING. THE VEHICLE HAS NO POWER BECAUSE THE FRONT BRAKES ARE BOTH BEING APPPIED
MY CAR IS POSSESSED THE HORN GOES OFF, THE LOCK CONTINUOUSLY LOCK AND UNLOCK, THE WIPERS WON'T STOP, AND THE HORN BEEPS! THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (KINDLE AUTO PLAZA, 525 STONE HARBOR BLVD, CAPE MAY, NEW JERSEY 08210) WHERE THEY DETERMINED THAT THE SOFT TOP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE SOFT TOP ROOF WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED AT THE DEALER (PELLEGRINO CHRYSLER JEEP, 241 GLASSBORO ROAD, WOODBURY HEIGHTS, NEW JERSEY 08097). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND COMPLAINT NUMBER: 34715617 WAS FILED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,000. *TT *TR
THE AIRBAG CLOCK SPRING IS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, IT HAS TO WHERE ALL THE LIGHTS COME ON THE DASH BOARD AND THE PART IS ONLY FACTORY MADE AT AN OUTRAGEOUS PRICE.
SKYSLIDER ROOF, STOPPED WORKING MANY TIMES BETWEEN 2008 AND 2018. THIS MAKES FOR A SITUATION WHERE THE ROOF CAN OPEN WHEN DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHEN MOVING AND WHEN STATIONARY. I HAVE NEVER TRIED TO OPEN THE ROOF WHEN THE CAR IS MOVING. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MOTORWORLD IN WILKES BARRE PA TO FIX THE ISSUE FOR OVER A YEAR WITH NO SUCCESS.
ONCE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DRIVEN AND THEN TURNED OFF, IT WILL NOT START FOR 20 TO 30 MINUTES UNTIL IT HAS COOLED OFF. IT IS NOT SHOWING ANY CODES,NOT OVERHEATING OR RUNNING HOT, SPARK PLUGS, SPARK PLUG WIRES, ALTERNATOR, AND BATTERY HAVE BEEN REPLACED. I'VE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH 2002 LIBERTIES AND NEWER. IT IS APPARENTLY AN ISSUE WITH A TRANSMISSION SHIFT MODULE BEING TOO CLOSE TO A HEAT SOURCE, AND IT CAN'T TELL THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK UNTIL THE ENGINE COOLS DOWN. IF YOU DRIVE IT AND LEAVE IT OFF FOR LESS THAN 5 MINUTES THERE IS NOT AN ISSUE, BUT IF IT'S TURNED OFF MORE THAN 5 MINUTES IT TAKES BETWEEN 20 AND 30 MINUTES BEFORE IT WILL START. IT STARTED SEVERAL MONTHS AGO SO I'M NOT SURE OF THE EXACT DATE. I CAN TURN IT OFF AND DO A REMOTE START WITH THE KEY AND IT WILL START BACK UP IF THE REMOTE START TIME HASN'T EXPIRED YET, BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT TO BE ABLE TO START IT AGAIN.
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY SKY SLIDER FOLDED BACK OFF THE TRACK MAKING A HORRIFIC SOUND. THE POWER BUTTON USED TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE SKY SLIDER DOES NOT WORK. IT JUST MAKES A GRINDING NOISE. WE HAD TO MANUALLY PUSH THE SKY SLIDER DOWN. THERE IS ALSO A LEAKING ISSUE WHEN THERE IS RAIN. WATER POURS INTO THE VEHICLE FROM AROUND THE FRONT INTERIOR LIGHTS ON THE ROOF BETWEEN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT. THERE IS ALSO WATER MARKS FROM THE SKY SLIDER LEAKING. I ALSO HAVE A SENSOR THAT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY. THE SENSOR IS FOR LOW TIRE PRESSURE.
SKYSLIDER - THE SKY SLIDER REAR DRIVE ASSEMBLY IS BROKEN. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM, I KNOW MANY OTHERS THAT ARE HAVING TO DEAL WITH THIS. EVEN GOING OVER 20 MPH IT STARTS FLAPPING IN THE WIND. ALSO IT LETS WATER IN, MOSTLY WHEN IT RAINS. COME ON FIX THIS. I HAVE TO TARP MY CAR EVERY DAY JUST SO THE WATER DOESN'T GET IN AND GET MOLD.
DRIVING ON NJ TURNPIKE HORN STARTS BLARING, WIPERS START GOING AND THE WIPER FLUID IS SPRAYING NON STOP! HAD TO PULL OVER UNTIL IT STOPPED NO THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED.
AIRBAG LIGHT RANDOMLY COMES ON WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
THE PROBLEMS STARTED WITH THE NEW BATTERY GOING DEAD FOR NO REASON UNTIL I INSTALLED SECURITY CAMERAS ON OUR HOUSE AND SAW THE HEAD LIGHTS WOULD RANDOMLY TURN ON AND OFF RUNNING THE BATTERY DEAD WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. THEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD COME ON AND NOT TURN OFF AND SOMETIMES THE CAR WOULDN'T START AND WHEN IT DID ON THESE EVENTS IT WOULD SHAKE ACTING LIKE IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHEN THE CONTACT REMOVED THE REAR TIRE IN ORDER TO CHANGE THE BRAKE, HE NOTICED THAT THE REAR LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NORTHTOWN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE FIAT (2020 NIAGARA FALL BLVD, TONAWANDA, NY 14150 (716) 923-2105) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT BOTH REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,660.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND EMERGING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE HEAT SHIELD BECAME DETACHED AND WAS ON THE DRIVETRAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (PORT JEFF CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM, 5130 NESCONSET HWY, PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY 11776) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 188,112.
THE ROCKER ARM OF MY JEEP BECAME ATTACHED FROM THE ENGINE BECAUSE THERE IS A FLAW ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OF THE ENGINE. THE WAY THE CAM TURNS MAKES IT A VERY REAL POSSIBILITY THAT THE ROCKER ARMS ON THAT SIDE CAN DETACH. APPARENTLY THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND VERY WELL KNOWN AMONG MECHANICS FOR THE COMPANY AS WELL AS THIRD-PARTY MECHANICS, BUT THE COMPANY THEMSELVES CLAIMED THEY'VE NEVER HEARD ANY ISSUES ON THE MATTER. I ACTUALLY HAVE HAD A FRIEND HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH HER VEHICLE A COUPLE YEARS BACK, AND SHE WROTE AND THEY STONEWALLED HER AS WELL. I REALLY THINK THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE EXAMINED MORE SERIOUSLY. THERE'S TONS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE WRITTEN ONLINE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE.
A PIECE FELL FROM UNDER THE SEAT WHICH MAKES THE SEAT FEEL LOOSE. THE SIDE CONTROL PANEL FOR MOVING THE SEAT BACK AND FORTH DOES NOT GIVE FULL CONTROL OF ADJUSTING THE SEAT. THE KEY LESS REMOTE WILL NOT LOCK AND UNLOCK MY DOORS. I HAVE TO USE MANUAL LOCKS. I TOOK IT TO BE LOOKED AT, I WAS ADVISED GROUND WIRES WERE CROSSING AND BLOWING OUT A FUSE/RELAY. THE MOPHAR SKYLINER SUNROOF IS OFF TRACK. THERE IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT IN THE SUNROOF. CHRYSLER HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL YET SEVERAL JEEPS ARE HAVING AND HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. IT IS $300 FOR A NEW ROOF WHICH WILL BREAK/GO OFF TRACK WITHIN 2 YEARS. OR $6000 TO REPAIR THE ROOF I HAVE WHICH STILL DOES NOT GUARANTEE IT WILL BREAK/GO OFF TRACK AGAIN. THE ROOF OPENS ON IT'S OWN WHILE I AM DRIVING CAUSING EXPOSURE TO OUTSIDE WEATHER. I HAVE READ FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS THAT THE ROOF HAS FLOWN OFF WHILE DRIVING WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO THE PASSENGERS IN VEHICLE AND/OR DRIVING AROUND THE VEHICLE. *JS
SKYSLIDER TOP -WELL MAINTAINED. CLOSED TOP WHILE PARKED IN DRIVEWAY AND TOP CAME OFF TRACK OR CABLE SNAPPED. FORCED CLOSED NOW BUT LIFTS WHEN DRIVING OVER 40MPH. THIS IS SECOND TIME HAPPENING. I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THIS IS HAPPENING TO AND CHRYSLER NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THEIR DESIGN FAILURE BEFORE TRYING TO "IMPROVE" IT AND ADD TO OTHER VEHICLES. THE SKYSLIDER TOP WAS THE MAIN SELLING FEATURE OF THE NEW JEEP LIBERTYS.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY, MY VINYL SKY SLIDER ROOF FLEW OFF THE TRACKS AND BROKE THE PLASTIC PIECES THAT HOLD THE ROOF ON. THE ROOF IS UN REPAIRABLE DUE TO PARTS BEING DISCONTINUED. *TR

ALSO, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD ACTIVATE, THE HORN WOULD SOUND, THE DOOR LOCKS WOULD LOCK AND UNLOCK ON THEIR OWN, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OR EXCEED 20 MPH. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE CAUSED THE FAILURES. THE MECHANIC ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURES WOULD OCCUR WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION. THE DEALER (ED VOYLES CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 789 COBB PKWY SE, MARIETTA, GA 30060, (844) 715-5921) STATED THAT SINCE THERE WAS NO RECALL THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE EXACT SAME FAILURES BACK IN 2016. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS ONLY A TWELVE MONTH WARRANTY ON THE ORIGINAL REPAIRS PERFORMED IN 2016. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.

OUR 2008 JEEP LIBERTY HAS A DEFECTIVE SKY SLIDER ROOF. DESPITE BEING PROPERLY MAINTAINED, IT HAS JUMPED THE TRACKS AND HAD TO BE FORCED CLOSED. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY IF IT DOES NOT REMAIN CLOSED WHILE DRIVING. WE HAVE CONTACTED JEEP WHO REFUSES TO HELP. AFTER READING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE, WE ARE QUESTIONING WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL AS THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND CAN LEAVE OWNERS UNABLE TO USE THEIR VEHICLES.
WE HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS JEEP WHICH ALL COME FROM THETIPM AND THE ECM. WE HAVE REPLACED THE TIPM 3TIMES NOW AT OVER $1000.00 EACH TIME!!! THIS IS THE NUMBER ONE COMPLAINT ON THIS VEHICLE AND I HAVE FOUND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS INVOLVING THIS PART. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS. I AM GOING TO TRY AND START A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST JEEP SEEINGS HOW THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND MAKE THEIR CUSTOMERS PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
WE WERE LEAVING FOR A TRIP AND GOT ABOUT 200 FEET FROM OUR FRONT DOOR AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STARTED GOING ON THEIR OWN, THERE WAS WINDSHIELD FLUID COMING OUT AND THE HORN WAS HONKING. THE CAR WAS RUNNING BUT WE WERE AT A STOP. WE SHUT THE CAR OFF AND STARTED IT BACK UP AND IT STOPPED. WE STARTED OUR TRIP AND REALIZED THAT THE ELECTRICAL OUTLET NO LONGER WOULD STAY ON AND THE DOORS WOULD NOT OPERATE WITH THE REMOTE. WE STOPPED AT AN AUTO PARTS STORE TO USE THEIR CODE CHECKER AND WE GOT A READ ERROR AND THE CAR NEVER STARTED AGAIN. WE WERE 70 MILES FROM HOME, COST US $300 TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED. WE HAD THE TIPM REPLACED FOR A MERE $840, THE DOORS STILL DO NOT OPERATE WITH THE REMOTE AND IT IS BACK IN THE SHOP. VERY FRUSTRATED AT THIS POINT.
BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN VA ON 2/19/18, DRIVING HOME TO ME AND AFTER 50 MILES IN RAIN THE HORN STARTED GOING OFF EVERY TIME THE WIPERS MOVED. PUSHED THE HORN BUTTON AND THE WASHER FLUID STARTED SQUIRTING OUT. WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND HAD TO SHUT THE JEEP OFF THEN WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE. STOPPED IN CT FOR GAS AND GOT BACK ON THE INTERSTATE AND THE ALL LIGHTS TURNED OFF ON THE OUTSIDE BUT ALL THE DASH WARNING LIGHTS TURNED ON, WIPERS TURNED ON, HORN TURNED ON, WASHER FLUID SPRAYER WENT CONTINUOUSLY AND THE MOTOR WOULD STOP AND START ON ITS OWN, WHILE MOVING! LUCKILY, MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED THE IGNITION OFF BUT ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS CONTINUED TO GO OFF RANDOMLY THEN THE CAR WOULD NOT RESTART. AFTER TURNING THE KEY ON AND OFF MULTIPLE TIMES, MOVING THE SHIFTING LEVER, PULLING FUSES FROM THE PANEL UNDER THE HOOD AND PUTTING THEM BACK IN IT STARTED RUNNING AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED A SECOND TIME ABOUT 100 MILES LATER. WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR BACK TO ME BUT AFTER I SHUT THE JEEP OFF AND STARTED IT BACK UP THE HORN AND WIPERS STARTED GOING OFF WITHOUT ANY SWITCHES BEING TOUCHED. LOOKED THIS ISSUE UP ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR JEEP/DODGE/CHRYSLER VEHICLES MADE IN AND AROUND THIS TIME. HAD A RECALL BEEN DONE I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS A POSSIBLE ISSUE AND BEEN ABLE TO MAKE A BETTER CHOICE OF A CAR TO BUY FOR MY DAUGHTER. THERE WAS A REAL DANGER OF GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT WHEN ALL OF THE LIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN ON A BUSY INTERSTATE AND THEN THE MOTOR TURNING OFF AND ON WHILE IN TRAFFIC.

THE ATTENDANT EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THIS HAPPENS TO A LOT OF THE JEEP PRODUCTS AND AFTER RESEARCHING IT DOES SEEM LIKE A CHRONIC PROBLEM THAT SOMEHOW DOESN'T MEET THE SAFETY LEVEL FOR THE NHTSB TO ISSUE THE PROPER RECALL?
