TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP PQTRIOT. WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL, TRACTION CONTROL, ESP CONTROL, 4X4, WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, ABS, AND THE BRAKE LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO DECELERATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,925. MA 10/5

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,000.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT RECOGNIZE WHICH GEAR IT WAS IN AND SHE HAD TO QUICKLY SHIFT TO PARK IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
