Engine stalls/shuts off while driving. No warning given. Even after having my fuel pump and throttle body replaced, the issue still occured. There seems to be a recall for other vehicles but mine isnt listed.
Catalytic converter is bad. Check engine light is on. Other 2015 Patriots have a recall for catalytic converter recall but mine is not on that list. Should be.
Jeep entered limp mode right as I was pulling out on to the street. Brought the car into a mechanic to have it diagnosed, turns out to be the ETC. Call a dealership to get a estimate on cost, they told me that a significant portion the jeep patriots from that year are currently experiencing this, to the point where the part is on back order nation wide. Estimated repair cost $1400. 40,000 miles.

the engine cuts out and stalls as you are driving, this is intermittent but happens often
I WAS SITTING STATIONARY LEAVING OUT OF A PARKING LOT WAITING TO TURN RIGHT ONTO A MAIN ROAD FROM A BUSINESS. AS TRAFFIC CLEARED AND I BEGAN TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC NUMEROUS MALFUNCTION LIGHTS SHOWED ON THE DASH, SOME SOLID AND ONE FLASHING, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I LOST ALL THROTTLE CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY IDLE OR VERY SLIGHTLY ACCELERATE TO 1-2 MPH. THIS CAUSED OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD TO BRAKE AGGRESSIVELY OR CHANGE LANES TO AVOID HITTING ME. I WAS ABLE TO IDLE TO THE NEXT ENTRANCE AND PULL THE CAR OVER AND PARK IT. WAS NECESSARY TO RECOVER THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR FACILITY AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS AN INTERNALLY FAILED THROTTLE MOTOR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO "LIMP MODE". THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER HAD THE NEW THROTTLE MOTOR IN STOCK INDICATING TO ME THIS IS A KNOWN AND COMMON PARTS FAILURE. THIS SITUATION WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HAVE ENDED UP MUCH WORSE.
THE ENGINE STALLS UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING, DUE TO THE INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE CRANKSHAFT OR CAMSHAFT SENSOR ON THE ENGINE. THIS COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Patriot. The vehicle had previously been serviced at the dealer under a manufacturer Emission Recall Number: U67 (Catalytic Converter Efficiency) however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced decreased acceleration. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 96,800.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated that the check engine warning light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the fuel and the oxygen were not mixing correctly. The dealer confirmed that the throttle body box sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, who confirmed that the same failure had reoccurred. The throttle body box sensor was replaced again. The contact stated that after the repair, while starting the vehicle, there was a misfire coming from the engine. The contact made several attempts, but the failure persisted. After turning off the vehicle, waiting for a while, and then restarting the vehicle, the contact was able to drive to the residence. The contact stated that the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was returned to the dealer a third time, and the dealer determined that the same part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,105.
ABOUNT THREE MONTHS AGO THE JEEP STATED TO STALE AS I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AS I PULLED OVER IT JUST DIED NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON I TOWED IT TO MY HOUSE THEN TRIED IT AFTER A FEW DAYS AND LIKE NOTHING THEN IT STARTED OVERHEATING SO I PARKED IT AGAIN WAITED A DAY TRYED IT AGAIN AND EVER SINCE NOTHING IT CRANKS BUT WONT TURN OVER ITS JUST DEAD THE MILAGE IS AT 47000 ITS BEEN A WASTE OF TIME MONEY EFFORT VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS JEEP I AM ON FOOT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO PROTECTE CONSUMERS
I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY TWICE IN 9 MONTHS WITH 90K MILEAGE AND IT STILL STUTTERS AFTER BOTH REPLACEMENTS.
HAD ISSUES WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS BUT WAS REPAIRED PRIOR TO RECEIVING THE RECALL PAPERWORK. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THIS WAS THE COPY OF THE COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC. I PAID OUT OF POCKET TO GET REPAIRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP PATRIOT. WHILE THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS OR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, IT STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V907000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.
SO I MADE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE BUT TODAY I HAVE AN ACTUAL ENGINE CODE THAT WAS PULLED UP AFTER BEING REAR-ENDED DUE TO THE STALLING. IT'S CODE P0335 AND IT'S THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR WHICH IS ALREADY RECALLED FOR THE EXACT MAKE AND MODEL IN THE 2016 VERSION AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY FOR 2015 BECAUSE IF THERE ARE ANY COMPLAINTS OF STALLS IT'S BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS ADDRESSED TO ME AND MY KID AND ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS THIS PROBLEM AND CAR IS AT RISK
I HAVE ABOUT 48000 MILES ON MY CAR IN THE LAST WEEK IT'S BEEN STALLING WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE STALLS AND IT JUST SHUTS DOWN I HAVE A YOUNG CHILD AND IT'S SCARY AND NOT SAFE. IT HAS DONE IT AT MULTIPLE VARIATIONS OF MILES PER HOUR. NO WARNING, ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES ONCE I GIVE IT A COUPLE MINUTES IT GENERALLY CRANKS BACK UP AND EITHER STALLS OUT AGAIN.
THE FIRST TIME IT STALLED I WAS TURNING A CORNER ONTO A MAIN STREET AND IT STALLED. IT DID START RIGHT BACK UP AND RAN. THE NEXT DAY I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND IT STALLED. THE VERY NEXT RED LIGHT IT STALLED AGAIN. BOTH TIMES IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP AGAIN.
MY JEEP STARTS STALLING AND SHUTS DOWN WITH NO WARNING. IT IS COMPLETELY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. WE HAVE SPENT OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS FIXING THIS ISSUE.AS WE ARE DRIVING THE CAR STALLS THEN COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN, NO WARNING CAUSES PEOPLE TO SLAM ON BREAKS OR SWERVE TO NOT HIT INTO. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR MONTHS
