I PURCHASED THIS CAR AFTER OWNING TWO WRANGLER'S, A CHEROKEE AND A PATRIOT. I NOTICED RIGHT AWAY THAT MY TRANSMISSION WOULD LUNGE FORWARD WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT HARSHLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN IN TRAFFIC THEN APPLYING THE GAS TO GO, THE CAR ALSO HESITATES TO TAKE OFF. I HAVE HAD MANY SCARY SITUATIONS WHERE I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED MANY TIMES BECAUSE OF THE DELAY, I ALSO CAME TO A STOP AT A CROSSWALK AND RIGHT WHEN I WENT TO STOP THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD AND I HIT SOMEONE WALKING IN THE CROSSWALK, I WAS LUCKY THE GUY WAS NOT HURT, I ALSO HAD A TIME WHERE THERE WAS A COUCH IN FRONT OF ME ON THE FREEWAY AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO AVOID IT BECAUSE OF A HESITATION IN THE ENGINE WHERE AT TIMES I AM UNABLE TO ACCELERATE RIGHT AWAY AND THIS COULD CAUSE ME TO GET HIT IF I SWITCH LANES TO QUICKLY, I ENDED UP SLAMMING ON THE BREAKS AND SLIDING INTO THE COUNCH AND CONTACTING 911 TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED. THIS TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE AND ALL THE SHOPS DO IS RESET THE TRANSMISSION AND DO A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TCM AND THE PCM ON THE CAR. THE CARS DOOR LOCKS WILL ALSO SOMETIMES BEEP LOUD AND SOMETIMES BEEP SHORT LIKE SOMETHING IS WRONG AND A GOOD PORTION OF THE TIME THE CAR WILL NOT LOCK. I ALSO HAVE A WEIRD VIBRATION COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR AND THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY TESTED IT AGAINST A CHEROKEE AND IT'S THE SAME BUT I HAVE A RENEGADE SO I HAVE IN WRITING THEY TESTED THE WRONG MODEL CAR. THIS CAR HAS HAD SO MANY ISSUES AND I REALLY FEEL UNSAFE, I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE CAR IN 5 TIMES AND THEY DON'T REALLY DO ANYTHING. I WILL BE TAKING IT IN TO GET MY AC KNOB REPLACED BECAUSE IT HAS A SHARP EDGE AND I KEEP GETTING CUT. I DON'T THINK BEING TOLD THE HARSH SHIFTING IS NORMAL IS RIGHT, I FEEL LIKE I AM DRIVING A MANUAL TRANSMISSION BECAUSE OF THE WEIRD SHIFTS THIS TRANSMISSION DOES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO UNDERWOOD JEEP CHRYSLER (2626 CLEVELAND RD, WOOSTER, OH) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. IN ADDITION, WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD SUDDENLY ACTIVATE AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STOP ABRUPTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HAASZ CHRYSLER (315 S. MILL ST, DALTON, OH) AND REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE REPAIR SPECIFICS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
I PURCHASED MY 2017 JEEP RENEGADE 4X4 ALTITUDE ON MARCH 2, 2017. WITHIN TWO WEEKS BEFORE I HAD 300 MILES ON THE VEHICLE I EXPERIENCED WHAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS POWER LOSS IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION DURING A U-TURN. THIS U-TURN WAS NOT AS ACCELERATED SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 10-15 MPH, WAS ON DRY PAVED ASPHALT. I CHALKED IT UP FOR WHAT I WAS HOPING TO BE A ONE TIME OFFENSE. HOWEVER, IT HAS NOW HAPPENED ONCE AGAIN ON DRY PAVED ROADS ON A CLEAR DAY. THIS TIME I NOTICED THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WENT CRAZY, JUST BLINKING AWAY. THE RENEGADE ROLLED A FOOT OR SO BECAUSE I WAS ONLY GOING 5 MPH DURING THIS U-TURN WHEN THE RENEGADE LOST POWER. AFTER SOME RESEARCH IT SEEMS THE RENEGADE ON-BOARD COMPUTER MUST THINK THE JEEP IS TIPPING AND AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION CUTS POWER TO THE VEHICLE TO PREVENT A ROLLOVER. I'M NO EXPERT, BUT I'M PRETTY POSITIVE A VEHICLE DOES NOT TIP IN THE MIDDLE OF A U-TURN, ON DRY PAVEMENT, AND GOING 5 MPH. I HAVE A FAMILY, A 18 MONTH OLD AND A PREGNANT WIFE. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE PUTTING MY FAMILY IN THIS BRAND NEW VEHICLE. I DON'T EVEN FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS ANYMORE. WHO KNOWS WHEN IT WILL DECIDE TO LOSE POWER AGAIN AND GET ME OR MY FAMILY SEVERELY INJURED OR WORSE. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. THIS WAS MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF THE CHRYSLER COMPANY...JEEP BRAND. I'VE NEVER OWNED ONE BEFORE AND AM NOT SURE IF BUYING CHRYSLER IS SAFE FOR MY FAMILY AT THIS POINT.
RADIO NOT WORKING IN MY HEW JEEP 2016 AND MY 2017 BOTH OF THEM THEY GO IN AND OUT WHAT DO I DO .
2017 JEEP RENEGADE WITH REMOVABLE ROOF PANELS. I WAS DRIVING AND THE ROOF PANEL BECAME DETACHED AND FLEW OFF MY JEEP. THE JEEP WAS ON A NORMAL COUNTRY STREET GOING 35-40 MPH. IT SHOT OFF, FLYING BACKWARDS. IT LANDED 50 FEET BEHIND ME, IN A FRONT YARD. IT WAS 5 INCHES STUCK IN THE MUD/YARD OF A HOME. IT WAS JUST THE FRONT PANEL AND NOT THE BACK PANEL. THE BUTTON FOR THE ROOF TO SLIDE NO LONGER WORKS, THE PANEL IS BENT, IT IS CURVED. IT WOULD NOT GO BACK ON AND NO LONGER WORKS THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO OPERATE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILL LUKE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (2425 W CAMELBACK RD, PHOENIX, AZ 85015), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED OR DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE MORE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED OR DIAGNOSED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED AN EXTENSION ON A LOANER VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400.
THE ENGINE USES/LOSES APPROXIMATELY 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 300 - 500 MILES OF DAILY DRIVING. MY DAILY DRIVING IS BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY. THE JEEP HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES (4 IN 6 MONTHS) TO INVESTIGATE AND CORRECT THIS LOSS OF OIL. ACCORDING TO THE OWNER'S MANUAL THE OIL CHANGES CAN LAST AS LONG AS 10,000 MILES. THIS JEEP RENEGADE AVERAGES AN OIL CHANGE EVERY 2,000 TO 2,500 MILES DUE TO THIS OIL ISSUE. THERE ARE "NO" EXTERNAL OIL LEAKS VISIBLE NOR ON THE DRIVEWAY THEREFORE THE OIL MUST BE LEAKING INTERNALLY INTO "SOMETHING". THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN GREAT SERVICING THE VEHICLE BUT HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE LAST INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE DEALERSHIP WAS THIS JEEP'S ENGINE IS EXPECTED TO LOSE 1 QUART OF OIL PER 2000 MILES AND RECOMMENDED TO CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL EVERY 2,500 MILES. THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE THAT HAS AN ENGINE PROBLEMS THAT IS UNRESOLVED AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. NEVER KNOWING WHEN THE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WILL OCCUR. I ORIGINALLY TOOK THIS JEEP TO THE QUINN JEEP/CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN GLOUCESTER VA BUT WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT BECAUSE THIS JEEP WAS NOT PURCHASED FROM QUINN THAT QUINN WOULD NOT PERFORM (ANY) SERVICE ON THIS VEHICLE. THERE WAS AN ACTUAL "NOTE" ADDED IN THE DATABASE TO NOT SERVICE THIS VEHICLE.
Honestly there are so so many problems that have occurred and all under 40,000-50,000 miles! Two recalled radiators and i know its having oberheating isuuses ahain . My car literaly got so hot it slpikt4my batery and the battery aciid smoke filled the eniter cabin are of the vehicle my kids and i in car . The back windshield exploded into spider webs type breaks randomly absolutely i have eye witnesses other than my own word as welll. There is ,more but its enough i think for now. I appreciate y'all time . Aloha
