WAS ON A HIGHWAY DOING ABOUT 67 MPH AND I FELT A LOSS OF POWER BUT STILL HAD MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. FROM THERE THE RENEGADE STARTED PUTTERING AND STALLING. HAD HALF A TANK OF GAS. ALMOST FELT LIKE IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS
JEEP QUITS FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. NO DASH LIGHTS COME TO INDICATE A PROBLEM.CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE SCARED OF GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5 TIMES OVER THE LAST 2 WEEKS
COOLING FAN FAILURE WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, PROBLEM REPORTED AND DIAGNOSED BY DEALER. THEY INDICATED WOULD BE OK TO DRIVE UNTIL NEXT SCHEDULED SERVICE INTERVAL. CAR OVERHEATED WAS RETURNED TO DEALER FOR REPAIR AND CONCLUDED NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE WHICH IS UNFAIR DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF THESE FAILURES REPORTED ON THE INTERNET. ATTACHED INVOICE OF $ 817.63 IN REPAIRS WE HAVE UNFAIRLY HAD TO PAY.
MY CAR KEEPS RINGING SEAT BELT ALERT EVEN WHEN SEATBELTS ARE ON. THE PANEL LIGHTS UP AND SAYS SERVICE EMERGENCY BREAK AND AIR BAGS. ALSO AT TIMES I GET ALERT SAYING FOB KEY IS NOT IN VEHICLE AT SAME TIME I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVE TO DRIVE TO NY FROM FL AND BACK AGAIN AND AM AFRAID TO DRIVE.
I HAVE HAD MY CAR JUST UNDER 2 YEAR, PURCHASED NEW. WHEN PURCHASING THE CAR I ASKED IF THEY WOULD INSTALL A REMOTE START AND WAS TOLD TO JUST TAKE IT TO CAR TOYS. WE DID ALMOST A YEAR LATER. WE ARE AT 1 YR 10 MTHS AND JUST OVER 26,00 MILES. JUST RECENTLY THE CAR STATED STALLING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I WOULD HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK TO BE ABLE TO START GOING AGAIN AND THEN IT LAGS TO GET GOING AND QUITS SHIFTING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON. SOMETIMES IT FLASHES THOUGH SEVERAL ERRORS, TOO FAST TO READ THEM ALL. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN TO THE ORIGINAL DEALER 3 TIMES AND ANOTHER DEALER ONCE. I WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A COMPUTER UPDATE, THE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED FIXED AND OTHER THINGS. THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED THE FIRST3 TIMES. THIS LAST TIME THEY ARE TELLING ME IT IS THE AFTER MARKET STARTER, THEY THINK. THEY CANNOT GUARANTEE IT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM BUT NOW THEY ARE SAYING NOTHING IS UNDER WARRANTY. THE AFTER MARKET STARTER HAS BEEN ON THERE 11 MONTHS WITHOUT ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS 9/26.19. THE CURRENT DATE IS 11/13/19. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. MOST TIMES I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN BUT HAVE BEEN LUCK TO BE BY MYSELF EACH TIME THE CAR HAS STALLED.
VEHICLE STALLS WITHOUT WARNING OR ERROR MESSAGE. GENERALLY WHEN STARTING ON A STEEP HILL OR WHEN ACCELERATING QUICKLY FROM STOP AS IN WHEN ENTERING A FREEWAY ONRAMP. I DRIVE MOSTLY IN THE CITY WITH LOTS OF HILLS. VEHICLE DOES START BACK UP, BUT TENDS TO BE MORE PRONE TO STALLING ONCE ITS HAPPENED. I THINK IT MAY BE LINKED TO OIL PRESSURE SINCE THAT MESSAGE DID COME UP ONCE OF THE 20 TIMES ITS HAPPENED. WHEN OIL IS TOPPED OFF IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAPPEN, BUT THERE IS NO WARNING ABOUT OIL BEING LOW OR LOW PRESSURE GENERALLY. I LOOKED THIS UP ON A JEEP RENEGADE FORUM AND IT APPEARS A BUNCH OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE ISSUE. 2018 VERSIONS OF THIS VEHICLE APPEAR TO HAVE A RECALL IN EFFECT FOR 2 DIFFERENT ISSUES THAT SOUND IDENTICAL TO WHAT IM EXPERIENCING. MY GUESS IS THAT THE CURRENT RECALLS SHOULD APPLY TO MY VEHICLE AS WELL. ID MAINLY LIKE TO MAKE YOU AWARE OF THE ISSUE, BUT ALSO GET ANY UPDATE ABOUT WHETHER A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE IS LIKELY AS ID RATHER NOT PAY FOR THESE REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET AS THEY SEEM COMPLEX.
WILL BE DRIVING AND VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. ONCE IT SHUTS OFF YOU HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE BACK UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AND EVEN IN INTERSECTIONS AND ON THE INTERSTATES. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUE 20 TIMES.
MY 2017 JEEP RENEGADE STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK IT TO MY JEEP DEALERSHIP AND AFTER ONLY TWO YEARS THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. I ALWAYS DID THE OIL MAINTENANCE AS RECOMMENDED. I HAVE FOUND THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS OF THAT SAME YEAR HAVING THE SAME ENGINE ISSUES. THERE ARE 5 PAGES OF COMPLAINTS ON CAR COMPLAINTS.COM. THIS IS SO UPSETTING TO ME SINCE I COULD HAVE BEEN IN A SERIOUS CRASH WHEN MY RENEGADE STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE IN MOTION. WHY WASN'T THERE A RECALL??
LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING, VEHICLE HAD BURNED UP 5QTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES 5000 MILES BARLEY ANY OIL ON DIPSTICK. CAR STALLED IN INTERSECTION AS DRIVER ACCELERATED. VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY AND HAD OIL CHANGES BEFORE SERVICE DATE AND PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT.
MY VEHICLE RUNS OUT OF OIL PRIOR TO MY OIL CHANGE. RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS, MY LOW OIL PRESSURE NOTICE WILL POP ON AND DISAPPEAR AND THEN STALL ON ME. WAS TOLD BY MY THE DEALER THAT THIS IS RELATED TO PRESSURE CONSUMPTION.
THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING. SLOWS DOWN AS THE GAS PEDDLE IS DEPRESSED THEN ABRUPTLY BEGINS TO SPEED BACK UP. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO JERKS SOMETIMES WHILE INCREASING OR DECREASING SPEED. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.
THE 2017 WONT TURN OFF AFTER YOU TURNED ON AND ALL THE PANEL LIGHT MALFUNCTION. THE CAR ONLY TURN OFF IF I UNPLUG THE BATTERY. ACCORDING WITH THE WARRANTY OF THE CAR PASSED STATE LAW AND IT CANT BE REPLACE WHICH I THINK IS CRAZY SINCE ANY MALFUNCTION CAN HAPPEN AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. ALSO THE JEEP WONT TURN OFF . THE DEALER DOESNT KNOW HOT TO FIXED SINCE NO CODE IS GIVING. I AM AFRAID OF USING THE CAR FOR MY OWN SAFETY AND FAMILY, AND ALL I WANT IS A REPLACEMENT.
I WAS DRIVING WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR STARTED LOSING POWER. THE DISPLAY READ "PUT CAR IN DESIRED DRIVE MODE" AND THEN CHANGED TO "LOW OIL PRESSURE". AT THIS POINT MY CAR WAS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I COULD SHIFT GEARS BUT IT DID NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I PRESSED THE START/STOP IGNITION TO COMPLETELY SHUT OFF MY CAR. I GAVE IT A MINUTE BEFORE TRYING TO START IT AGAIN. EVEN WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO START THE CAR IT TOOK A BIT TO GET IT TO TURN OVER. IT HAD BEEN JUST OVER 2 MONTHS SINCE MY LAST OIL CHANGE SO I THOUGHT THAT IT WAS ODD THAT I HAD LOW OIL PRESSURE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. AFTER INSPECTING MY CAR THEY NOTICED THAT I HAD NO OIL IN MY CAR. THE MECHANIC THAT PULLED THE DIPSTICK SAID IT WAS SMOKING WHEN HE PULLED IT OUT BECAUSE IT WAS SO DRY. THEY DID AN OIL CHANGE AND TOLD ME THAT THE 2.4L ENGINES IN THE 2017 RENEGADE TEND TO BURN OIL FASTER THAN OTHER ENGINE MODELS. I WAS TOLD TO COME BACK IN 500 MILES SO THAT THEY COULD CHECK MY OIL. FAST FORWARD 2 WEEKS AND I HIT 500 MILES. I MADE MY APPOINTMENT AND TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY CHECKED MY ENGINE AND RAN A CONSUMPTION TEST. IN 500 MILES I BURNED THROUGH 2QUARTS OF OIL. MY RENEGADE MADE IT TO 27,392 MILES BEFORE THIS ISSUE. I WAS BEING TOLD THAT I WOULD GET A NEW MOTOR. THEY HAD MY CAR FOR ABOUT 5 DAYS AND I NOW HAVE A NEW MOTOR. BUT IT IS STILL A 2.4L, SO WHAT IS TO SAY THIS WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN? THIS IS THE SECOND CHRYSLER PRODUCT THAT I HAD TO GET A NEW MOTOR BEFORE 30,000 MILES DUE TO A FACTORY DEFECT. THE OTHER WAS FOR A 2013 DODGE DART. I NO LONGER TRUST CHRYSLER PRODUCTS.*DT*JB
ENGINE COOLING FAN WAS REPLACED AT 50 THOUSAND MILES, CODES SHOW THAT THAT IS MALFUNCTIONING THE TRANSMISSION THREW CODES DEAD BATTERY. IT LOCKS UP AND DOESN'T WANT TO START EVEN AFTER REPLACING THE BATTERY.THEIR WAS TWO DIFFERENT SENSORS THAT THREW A CODE. I'VE GOTTEN A MESSAGE TO SERVICE THE AIRBAGS.ON EVERYTHING I HAVE TOLD YOU THE CAR WAS SITTING STILL. EXCEPT ON THE TRANSMISSION, WHEN IT GOES FROM 3RD GEAR TO PASSING GEAR IT SHIFTS REALLY HARD. AND IT FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL OUT. I MAINTAIN REGULAR OIL CHANGES .AVERAGE OF 1 PER MONTH. IT'S BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF. AT 50 THOUSAND MILES IT STARTED HAVING A LOT OF LITTLE THINGS GO WRONG. I FEEL LIKE I BOUGHT A LEMON AND NO ONE IS WILLING TO ADMIT IT.
COOLING FAN FAILURE. COOLING FAN IS RATTLING AND INCONSISTENT. LEADS TO OVERHEATING. LIMITED FCA "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION RECALL" (V54) DOES NOT COVER ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS JUMPSTARTED, BUT ONCE THE CABLES WERE REMOVED, THE ENGINE WOULD RUN FOR A MINUTE AND SHUT OFF. IN ADDITION, THE POWER STEERING, BRAKE, AIR BAG, AND EBD WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CAME TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CHANGED THE BATTERY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT CALLED MIKE SMITH CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (LOCATED AT 1945 I-10, BEAUMONT, TX 77701, (409) 840-3560) AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON 8/30/19 MY VEHICLE STALLED TWICE AND MADE A WEIRD ELECTRICAL SOUND WHEN TRYING TO START AGAIN . BOTH TIMES I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN ON THE STREET GETTING READY TO TURN
COOLING FAN FAILURE. FUSE BLEW ON FAN AND LED TO RAPID SPIKE IN COOLANT TEMPERATURE. LED TO P0481 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE. REPLACED BLOWN FAN FUSE BUT FAN CYCLES ON AND OFF AND SEEMS TO BE WOBBLING OR HAVE BEARING PROBLEMS. BASED ON SEARCHES, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE JEEP RENEGADE BUT CHRYSLER HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR 2017 YEARS.
LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT FLASHED ON. CHECKED OIL WHEN GOT HOME AND IT WAS 2.5 QUARTS LOW. HAD THE OIL CHANGED 5,000 MILES AGO. IT ONLY HAS 16,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. PREVIOUS OIL CHANGE SHOWED OVER A QUART LOW AS WELL.
AIRBAG SERVICE IS ON AND DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSED IT. THERE HAS BEEN NO DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. THE ENGINE IS USING UP A LOT OF OIL IN A VERY SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. 2000 MILES AFTER MY OIL CHANGE I DISCOVERED THAT MY ENGINE HAS NO OIL LEFT IN IT AND MY GAS IS BEING DEPLETED AT A VERY FAST RATE
VEHICLE AT FIRST WAS NOT TURNING ON THEN THE FOLLOWING DAY ON MY WAY TO WORK IT STALLED IN THE HIGHWAY I WAS PRESSING THE GAS BUT IT JUST WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. IT WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS COULD HAVE CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. JUST ON SIDE NOTE I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A USED CAR DEALERSHIP ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO
ENGINE WAS RUNNING AND GAS PEDALS WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR BUT THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE AND THE RPM DID NOT INCREASE. PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND EXIT; WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AT LOW SPEEDS ON CITY STREETS ONLY. PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V731000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
THIS IS RELATED TO NHTSA RECALL 18V731000. TEMPERATURES HAVE BEEN HIGH IN AUGUST AND THE VEHICLE SPUTTERS WHILE IN PARK, IN DRIVE, IN MOTION, AT RED LIGHTS, WHILE ACCELERATING, WHILE DECELERATING OR SIMPLY CRUISING AT STEADY RATE IN TOWN OR HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT HAS BEEN CONSISTENT FOR TWO TO THREE TANK FILLS OF GAS (MID AND PREMIUM GRADE). THE AIR FILTER WAS RECENTLY REPLACED AND LOOKS NORMAL. WE DISCOVERED THE RECALL MENTIONED ABOVE AND THE SYMPTOMS CERTAINLY SEEM SIMILAR.
CAR WOULD NOT GIVE GAS AND COMPLETELY STALLED OUT ON ME, AND CUT OFF!! IT WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. I ALMOST GOT REAMED BY A LARGE DUMP TRUCK BECAUSE THIS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BACK WINDY ROAD!! ALSO, MY CAR IS SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR FROM 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD! DEALERSHIP TELLS ME I WAS ALMOST OUT OF OIL???? HOW CAN THIS BE? I GET REGULAR OIL CHANGES, AND FUNNY THING IS, THEY ALWAYS TELL ME I'M LOW!!?? I'M FIRST OWNER, PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER 2017! ONLY HAVE 36,000 MILES! NOW DEALERSHIP TELLING ME THIS IS "NORMAL" FOR RENEGADE? WHY WASNT I INFORMED BEFORE PURCHASING!!! THIS IS A MAJOR SADETY HAZARD! I WAS ALMOST SERIOUSLY INJURED, THE DUMP TRUCK SCREACHED TO A HALT BY A MATTER OF INCHES!!!!
MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A 2 LANE CITY ROAD GOING UP A MOUNTAIN IN TUCSON. UPON REACHING THE ALTITUDE OF ABOUT 4000 FEET, MY VEHICLE STARTED TO STALL OUT. EVERYTHING LOCKED UP, BRAKES, STEERING WHEEL, GAS, ETC. AS THE VEHICLE WAS STALLING, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. AT THIS POINT, MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES OF WAITING, I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT. WE CONTINUED OUR ASCENT UP THE MOUNTAIN, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN ABOUT 3 MINUTES LATER. AT THIS POINT, WE CANCELLED OUR PLANS AND WENT BACK DOWN. THERE WERE NO ISSUES GOING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN OR AFTERWARDS. ABOUT A MONTH LATER, WE TRIED IT AGAIN, AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED, BUT THIS TIME STARTING AT AROUND 3500 FT.
THE TIRE SHOWED SIGNS OF DELAMINATING WHILE BEING ROTATED. THE ISSUE OCCURRED BETWEEN 27K AND 31K MILES. THE CAR HAD BEEN ALIGNED 12/2018 AND THE TIRES ROTATED 3 MONTHS EARLIER AT 27K MILES
2017 JEEP RENEGADE HAS AN OIL ISSUE WHERE IT SHUTS OFF THE ENGINE WITH NO WARNINGS AND WHEN INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE IT WAS FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE ENGINE AND THERE WAS AN OIL CHANGE DONE LESS THEN 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THIS ISSUE IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES NOW WHERE THERE WAS NO OIL FOUND IN THE CAR AND THERE WERE NO WARNINGS ABOUT THE OIL LEVEL OR PRESSURE BEING LOW.
VEHICLE HAS STALLED TWICE NOW. ONCE ON A MOUNTAIN ROAD AROUND A DANGER CURB AND ALSO ON A HIGHWAY. LUCKILY, BOTH TIMES WAS ABLE TO PULL TO SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT ALWAYS STARTS BACK UP BUT EXTREMELY TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT. BROUGHT TO JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN NOT FIND A PROBLEM. ALSO, OIL LIGHT COMES ON REGULARLY NOW WITH LOW OIL. BURNING A LOT OF FUEL. I KNOW FOR A FACT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUES. THEY ARE ALL OVER THE INTERNET. MY WIFE HAS A RENEGADE AS WELL AND HER'S STALLED OUT ONCE. I FEEL LIKE JEEP IS NOT TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY. SOMEONE WILL GET KILLED IF THIS KEEPS HAPPENING.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
FUEL GUAGE METER SHOWING WRONG LEVEL. MY GAS IS FULL EVEN THOUGH THE DIGITAL METER SHOWING 1/2.
GAS PEDAL/ACCELERATION WILL NOT ENGAGE WHEN VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE, IN A CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCE. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME AFTER I FIRST START THE VEHICLE, PLACE IT IN REVERSE, AND COAST/ROLL BACKWARDS (OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, INTO THE ROAD, INTO TRAFFIC). SLAMMING MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL RESULTS IN NO ACCELERATION, SO I JUST ROLL SLOWLY INTO THE ROAD. VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE NORMALLY AFTER I THEN SHIFT TO DRIVE. NOT BEING ABLE TO QUICKLY ACCELERATE IN REVERSE WHEN LEAVING FOR WORK EVERY MORNING IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. I TOOK THIS TO MY DEALERSHIP, AND THEY WERE ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE. THEY THEN TESTED THIS ISSUE ON 2016 RENEGADE, 2017 RENEGADE, AND 2018 RENEGADE. THE 2016 AND 2017 RENEGADES HAD THIS SAME ISSUE. THE 2018 RENEGADE REPORTEDLY DID NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE. MY DEALERSHIP SPOKE WITH A JEEP ENGINEER THAT HAS INVESTIGATED THIS ISSUE BEFORE, AND TRIED REPLACING THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM AS A SOLUTION. THAT DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE, SO THE ENGINEER CLAIMS THAT IT'S "WORKING AS DESIGNED." CLEARLY IT'S DESIGNED UNSAFELY. I HAVE INCLUDED MY DEALERSHIP'S NOTES INDICATING THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE AND MY (AND OTHER) RENEGADES. AND THAT THEY ENDED UP DIAGNOSING THIS AS "ISSUE IS NORMAL NO PROBLEM FOUND."
EXTREME OIL CONSUMPTION, WHICH CAN CAUSE THE OIL TO GO UNUSUALLY LOW, CAUSING STALLS AT SPEED. AFTER SOME ONLINE RESEARCHING, THIS APPEARS TO BE A LARGER ISSUE THAT JEEP HAS NOT YET ACKNOWLEDGED. I HAD MY OIL CHANGED AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 4/20/19, AND I'VE GONE JUST ABOUT 3K MILES SINCE THEN. I STARTED STALLING WHILE DRIVING, AND CHECKED THE OIL, AND IT WAS PRETTY MUCH BONE DRY. 5.5 QUARTS OF OIL GONE IN 3 MONTHS/3K MILES (NOTE - THE JEEP RECOMMENDED INTERVAL IS: "BASED ON ENGINE OPERATION CONDITIONS, THE OIL CHANGE INDICATOR MESSAGE WILL ILLUMINATE IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER", IN OTHER WORDS, THERE IS NO RECOMMENDED INTERVAL FOR NORMAL DRIVING, YOU ARE TO RELY ON THE OIL CHANGE INDICATOR LIGHT TO ALERT YOU. FOR "SEVERE DUTY", I.E.: THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED IN A DUSTY AND OFF ROAD ENVIRONMENT OR IS OPERATED PREDOMINATELY AT IDLE OR ONLY VERY LOW ENGINE RPM'S, JEEP RECOMMENDS OIL CHANGES AT 4K MILES. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME, AFTER SOME SCARY STALLS (AT SPEED, THE VEHICLE LOSES ALL POWER AND NEEDS TO BE RESTARTED, AND THE CHANGE OIL INDICATOR COMES ON), I BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE, AND WAS TOLD THAT I JUST MUST'VE BURNED THROUGH A LOT. NOW I KNOW THAT IS NOT THE CASE. OTHER THAN BEING AN INCONVENIENCE (HAVING TO CONSTANTLY CHECK OIL ON A TWO YEAR OLD VEHICLE), THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE JUST STALLS OUT, DIES, AND THE INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON. AT SPEED, THIS COULD BE DEADLY. FROM RESEARCHING ONLINE, I FOUND THAT YOU NEED TO ASK FOR AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AT THE DEALERSHIP. MANY ARE GETTING ENGINES REPLACED AS A RESULT. I AM GOING TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER AND SEE WHAT THEY CAN FIND.
WE HAVE OUR OIL CHANGED REGULARLY AT THE SAME PLACE AS SOON AS THE OIL CHANGE LIGHT COMES ON OR WE MEET THE MILEAGE LISTED ON THE LAST OIL CHANGE STICKER, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. WE HAD THE OIL CHANGED MAY 14, 2019 AND DROVE MAYBE 2500 MILES SINCE THAT DATE. LASTNIGHT MY HUSBAND AND KIDS WERE IN THE CAR SUDDENLY IT STALLED AND THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. THE UNIT THEN WAS FINE AND STARTED BACK UP WITH NO ISSUES, THEN THIS MORNING THE SAME THING. HE CALLED THE DEALER WE GOT IT AT AND THEY GOT IT IN RIGHT AWAY. SAID IT WAS SHOWING VERY LITTLE OIL, BUT NO VISIBLE LEAKS. IM SORRY I UNDERSTAND WANTING TO SAVE AN ENGINE BUT WHAT ABOUT LIVES IF IT STALLS AND CAUSES AN ACCIDENT. ALSO IF THE OIL IS THAT LOW, WHY DID THE OIL CHANGE LIGHT NOT COME ON. TO ME THIS SHOWING NUMEROUS REPORTS AND ISSUES AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE. WHY CHRYSLER. IS IT GOING TO TAKE A DEATH AND LAW SUIT FOR YOU TO CARE ABOUT YOUR CONSUMERS AND THEIR SAFETY?!? IM THINKING ABOUT CONTACTING A LAWYER AS NOW MY KIDS ARE AFRAID TO RIDE IN THE VEHICLE.
VEHICLE HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES IN TRAFFIC. "LOW OIL PRESSURE" WILL COME ON BRIEFLY AND THEN ENGINE FAILS. SOMETIMES WHILE TURNING IF VEHICLE DOES NOT COME TO COMPLETE STOP. VEHICLE IS BURNING THROUGH OIL ALL THOUGH NO LEAKS ARE DETECTED OR VISIBLE EVEN AFTER OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED.

THESE ARE THE FAILURES THAT SHOWED ON THE PANEL; 1.- HILL START ASSIT NOT AVAILABLE 2.- DYNAMIC STEERING TORQUE NOT AVAILABLE 3.- ESC SYSTEM SERVICE 4.- STEERING COLUMN TENDS TO BE HARD TO MOVE
FUEL PUMP MODULE: ISSUES ADDRESSED BY RECALL REMAIN UNRESOLVED. WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT THERE WAS A PART AVAILABLE, THEN HAD OUR APPOINTMENT CANCELLED BECAUSE THEY HAD RUN OUT. DRIVING THE CAR WITH THIS ISSUE IS DANGEROUS AS THE CAR TENDS TO STALL WHEN ACCELERATING ONTO A HIGHWAY OR WHEN MAKING A TURN. WE HAVE BARELY AVOIDED ACCIDENTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DUE TO STALLING, INCLUDING ONE WITH A SEMI-TRUCK. ENGINE: HARD IDLE WHEN COLD. ENGINE RATTLES LOUDLY. POWER TRAIN: WHEN CAR IS ACCELERATED TO 30 MPH RANGE, IT "HICCUPS" OR JERKS WHEN ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR THIS ISSUE NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT EVERY TIME WE ARE TOLD THAT THE "COMPUTER ISN'T PICKING ANYTHING UP" AND PROBLEM REMAINS UNRESOLVED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE EQUIPPED WITH CONTINENTAL CROSSCONTACT LX TIRES, SIZE: 215/65/16 (NA). LOST TIRE PRESSURE WHILE DRIVING CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY DUE TO THE TIRE FAILURE TREAD SEPARATION ON THE INSIDE OF TIRE. ONLY NOTICEABLE WITH TIRES OFF OF THE RIM. WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH, THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM INDICATED A LOSS OF TIRE PRESSURE IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE, PASSENGER'S SIDE REAR AND DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOSS OF TIRE PRESSURE WAS GRADUAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHEELS WERE REMOVED AT THE RESIDENCE AND TAKEN TO SOUTHERN TIRE MART LOCATED AT 2009 E BEEBE CAPPS EXPY, SEARCY, AR 72143, (501) 268-1167. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH MICHELIN BRAND TIRES. NEITHER THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER NOR A DEALER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE ON THE TIRES WERE 8,000, 10,000 AND 12,000 RESPECTIVELY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE WAS 8,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that the service engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, there were unknown warning lights flashing and illuminated on the instrument cluster. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
I HAVE HAD TO TAKE IN MY VEHICLE TO OUR DEALERSHIP TWICE WITHIN 2 MONTHS ON THE SAME ISSUE. THE CAR HAS BEEN SPUTTERING AT IDLE AND ALSO WHEN ACCELERATING. WHEN THE CAR IS TRAVELING IN BETWEEN 25-30MPH THE TRANSMISSION GETS A HARD KICK, IT ALMOST FEELS AS IF YOU ARE GETTING HIT FROM BEHIND. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, IGNITION COIL, SPARK PLUG WIRES, AND SPARK PLUGS. THE VEHICLE IS UNDER 32,000 MILES AND IS MOSTLY DRIVEN IN TOWN, I FEEL IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE OUT OF TOWN BECAUSE IT SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHEN TRAVELING AT 65MPH OR HIGHER.

TRAVELING AT 75 MPH ON HIGHWAY 25 IN NEW MEXICO, THE BEGAN DECELERATING DESPITE MY FOOT PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL. SERVICE ENGINE KIGHT ILLUMINATED. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO JEEP DEALERSHIP SIERRA BLANCA MOTORS IN RUIDOSO NM. LUCKILY I HAD CELL SERVICE TO CONTACT AAA. FUEL PUMP IS BEING REPLACED NOW FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 21,000 MILES. DEALER TOLD ME THERE IS NO WAY TO RECONFIGURE IT SO THAT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. IM AFRAID NOW TO DRIVE IT. I HAVE TO DRIVE TO DESOLATE LOCATIONS WITH NO CELL SERVICE FOR MY JOB. I WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY WHEN THIS LATEST INCIDENT OCCURRED. THEVFIRST INCIDENT I WAS ALSO IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY NEAR SANTA FE. FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED THEN AT 5,000 MILES ON THE CAR.
DURING VARIOUS INSTANCES AFTER STARTING THE CAR IN A STATIONARY MODE, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAVE WARNING OF VARIOUS LIGHTING SYSTEMS NOT WORKING IN RANDOM SUCCESSION. RIGHT TURN SIGNAL, LEFT TURN SIGNAL, PARKING LIGHT OUT, DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT OUT. THIS WILL GO ON FOR 30 SECONDS OR MORE BEFORE IT CORRECTS ITSELF. I ALSO HAVE HAD MULTIPLE EXPERIENCES WHILE IN MOTION THE WARNING SAFETY LIGHTS/SIGNALS ON THE SIDE MIRRORS BECOME TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE FOR NO REASON.

THIS IS A HUGE IF NOT IMPERATIVE SAFETY ISSUE FOR SOMEONE TO BE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE FOR A VEHICLE WITH 54,000 MILES NOW TO JUST STALL. THIS IS APPALLING THAT THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED AND OR RECALLED. IS IT GOING TO TAKE CASUALTIES TO GET SOMETHING DONE? THE FIRST TIME IT STALLED THE OIL LIGHT CANE ON AS I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. THE NEXT WAS DRIVING DOWN THE SAME STREET AT THE SAME STOP SIGN. RECENTLY I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY STREET AND THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO CARS BEHIND ME AND WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
JERKING/LUNGING OF CAR DURING ACCELERATION UP HILL OR GOING DOWN HILL OR SOMETIMES TAKING OFF FROM A COMPLETE STOP
WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 70MPH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO GET TO AN EXIT AND PULLED OVER SAFELY. CAR WOULD START BACK UP, BUT SPUTTER AND DIE. LET IT SIT FOR 10 MINUTES AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AND DRIVE AWAY, 5 MINUTES LATER, CAR DIES AGAIN. SAME PROBLEM, SPUTTERING, NO POWER. CALLED JEEP AND WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP.
SUNDAY, 2 JUN 2019 @ APPROXIMATELY 1900 ME AND MY FRIEND WERE RETURNING HOME FROM FISHING, GOING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH ON A LIGHT GRAVEL ROAD INSIDE A WILDLIFE STATE PRESERVE. WHILE MAKE STARTING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP ON ME WHICH MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN. I SLAMMED THE BRAKES AND WAS ABLE TO FREE THE STEERING WHEEL IN TIME TO TURN HARD RIGHT CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SLIDE AND COMING TO A STOP INCHES BEFORE GOING INTO THE RIVER. MY CAR WAS HANGING OFF THE BANK WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF ROLLING OVER INTO THE RIVER, MY FRIEND AND I HAD TO EXIT OUT OF THE PASSENGER DOOR FOR THE FEAR OF A POSSIBLE ROLLOVER. I WAS UNABLE TO SEE ANY WARNING LIGHTS (HILL ASSIST, ABS WARNING, ETC) AS EVERYTHING HAPPENED VERY FAST. I CURRENTLY HAVE A ACCIDENT CLAIM IN WITH MY INSURANCE AND THE JEEP DID SUSTAIN DAMAGE TO THE DRIVER FRONT TIRE. I WILL NOT KNOW THE RESULTS UNTIL TOMORROW OR THE NEXT DAY BUT FROM THE INITIAL LOOK, IT APPEARS THAT MY POWER STEERING FUILD IS LEAKING OUT AND ONTO MY AXLE AND ROTOR. AT THIS TIME IT IS UNCLEAR IF THIS ISSUE WAS CAUSED BEFORE OR AFTER THE IMPACT INTO THE RIVER BANK. AFTER THE TOLL TRUCK PULLED ME OUT I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE BACK HOME HOWEVER I WAS HEARING A FLIPPING NOISE COMING FROM MY DRIVER FRONT TIRE. I AM NOW VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, AS THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS BODILY HARM. LEFT A LOCAL DRIVE THRU AND JEEP BEGAN IDLING HARD. DROVE ON A BUSY ROADWAY AND LOST SPEED UNTIL CAR WAS AT 0MPH (WAS ORIGINALLY AT 45MPH) TURNED CAR OFF ON BUSY INTERSECTION AND TURNED BACK ON. CAR DROVE 1.5 MILES DOWN THE ROAD AND LOST SPEED AGAIN. WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO GAS STATION AND HAVE CAR TOWED TO GREENWAY JEEP IN ORLANDO. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID COME ON.
