TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE, IT SHOOK AND THE ENGINE SEEMED TO REV ON ITS OWN. AFTER SOME TIME, THE VEHICLE ADJUSTED ITSELF AND OPERATED NORMALLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN AN UNKNOWN RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THEY WOULD HEAR A RATTLING AND KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE VEHICLE'S REAR MIDDLE SEAT BELT FAILED TO LATCH AND LOCK INTO THE BUCKLE. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT. THE VEHICLE'S OIL CHANGE/ CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED DESPITE RECENTLY HAVING THE MOTOR CHANGED, THEREFORE OIL LEVELS BEING MET. THE BRAKING PARK ASSIST WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AS WELL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (LARRY H MILLER COLORADO JEEP LOCATED AT 350 S HAVANA ST. AURORA, CO 80012; PHONE NUMBER 720-262-2215) WHO STATED THE LOWER TRANSMISSION MOUNT WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE SEATBELTS WERE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND OPENED A CASE REGARDING AN ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO KENDALL DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (13355 SW 137TH AVE, MIAMI, FL 33186), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
SINCE APRIL OF 2019, MY JEEP RENEGADE HAS BEEN DYING WHILE MY 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAS BEEN DRIVING IT. WE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A FUEL PUMP RECALL, SO WE THOUGHT IT COULD BE RELATED TO THAT PROBLEM. WE DID INFORM OUR DEALER, JIM HAYES, INC., OF THE DYING ISSUE AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CHECK THE OIL AND LOOK INTO IT. WHEN I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE ON FRIDAY, MAY 31, I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAD BEEN EXTREMELY LOW ON OIL, AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO BRING IT IN EVERY 1000 MILES TO HAVE THEM CHECK TO SEE IF THE ENGINE WAS USING TOO MUCH OIL. THEY SAID THIS COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE DYING ISSUE AND THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH OTHER CHRYSLER/JEEP VEHICLES. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT IT COULD POSSIBLY NEED A NEW ENGINE. THE DEALER FIXED THE FUEL PUMP RECALL ON THURSDAY, MAY 30. HOWEVER, AFTER DRIVING IT ON MAY 30, IT DIED RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING IT ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS. I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO JIM HAYES, INC. ON MAY 31 SO THEY COULD FIX THE PROBLEM. ON MONDAY, JUNE 3, I WAS TOLD THAT THE DEALER COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE DYING ISSUE AND THAT THEY WERE UNSURE OF HOW TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THAT DID NOT MAKE SENSE BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME ON THE PREVIOUS FRIDAY THAT IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND IT COULD NEED A NEW ENGINE. AFTER READING SEVERAL JEEP FORUMS, I DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE THAT NEEDS ADDRESSED. I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED THAT I HAVE PURCHASED A CAR FOR MY 16 YEAR OLD THAT IS NOW A SAFETY HAZARD AND I AM AT THE MERCY OF JEEP AND THE DEALER. AS A NORMAL CITIZEN, WHO IS A TEACHER, I DO NOT HAVE THE FINANCIAL ABILITY TO PURCHASE MULTIPLE CARS AND I SHOULD BE ABLE TO TRUST THAT A CAR THAT IS FAIRLY NEW IS SAFE ENOUGH FOR MY DAUGHTER TO DRIVE. IT DISTURBS ME THAT THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED AND THE JEEP CORPORATION IS NOT ADDRESSING THE PROBLEM. I FEAR THAT MY DAUGHTER, WHO IS A NEW DRIVER, WILL BE INVOLVED IN A WRECK.
VEHICLE IN MOTION, PULL OUT OF PARKING LOT AT LOW SPEED MALFUNCTION INDICATORS LIGHTS INDICATED LOSS OF TURN SIGNALS AND BRAKE LIGHTS, STOPPED AT GAS STATION TO CHECK LIGHTS REFUELED UPON STARTING VEHICLE NO MALFUNCTIONS WERE INDICATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COOLANT FAN WAS OFF CENTERED AND THE FUSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FUSE WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COOLANT FAN WAS CURRENTLY INOPERABLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,719.
WHILE I'M DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY CAR STARTS TO FEEL LIKE IT IS CUTTING OFF. SO I HAVE TO PUSH ON THE GAS IN HOPE THAT IT WILL STOP IT FROM CUTTING OFF. IT DOES CUT OFF GOING DOWN A STREET AND CARS HAVE TO SWERVE FROM HITTING ME AND PEOPLE ARE BLOWING THEIR HORNS AND ME AND HITTING THEIR BRAKES SO THAT THEY DON'T HIT ME. I HAD A BABY IN THE CAR WITH ME. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE AT ALL FOR NO ONE. IT HAD A RECALL AND IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED BUT IT'S NOT. IT HAVE ALREADY BEEN TO 4 DEALERSHIPS AND THEY ALL SAY IT'S FIXED THEY ARE COMING UP WITH SOMETHING NEW ALL THE TIME. THIS CAR HAS SCARED ME.
WHEN I TURN THE VEHICLE ON AND START DRIVING, IF I SLOW DOWN AND BEGIN TO ACCELERATE IT GIVES A WARNING STATING LOW OIL PRESSURE AND THEN THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE I'M DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I AM GOING ANYWHERE FROM 15 TO 20 MILES PER HOUR. THE VEHICLE BURNED THROUGH 3 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. IT ALSO SLAMS INTO GEAR WHEN RUNNING LOW ON OIL. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2017 JEEP RENEGADE BRAND NEW AT THE END OF JANUARY 2018. I WAS TOLD TO BRING MY CAR IN AT 5000 MILES FOR AN OIL CHANGE. RIGHT BEFORE MY OIL CHANGE WAS DUE, WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT, I MADE A TURN AND SAW A LOW ENGINE PRESSURE LIGHT AND THEN MY ENGINE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING. MY HUSBAND & I MET WITH THE JEEP DEALER AND THE SHOP MANAGER SAID THE ENGINE WAS JUST "BREAKING IN" AND USED UP THE OIL. THIS WASN'T SOMETHING WE HAD HEARD OF BEFORE. THEY DID AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AND AFTER ALL THAT WAS DONE, THEY SAID IT WAS FINE AND IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN. I'VE TAKEN MY CAR IN LIKE CLOCK-WORK TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED. THIS WEEK, WITH STILL 300 MILES TO GO UNTIL MY NEXT OIL CHANGE, MY LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY CAR TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL ON A BUSY MAIN ROAD. THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME AGAIN "THIS CAR JUST USES OIL". THEY CONFIRMED I WAS 2.5 QUARTS LOW. WE HAVE 2 RENEGADES IN THE FAMILY, MY DAUGHTER'S 2015 RENEGADE THAT WE BOUGHT IN 2017 WITH ONLY 2500 MILES ON IT DOESN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I AM NOW GETTING A SECOND OIL CONSUMPTION TEST RUN. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND SCARY. I SEE THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2017 JEEP RENEGADES FOR A CRACKED OIL PUMP ISSUE. MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT YET IT HAS THE SAME SYMPTOMS. I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW CAR SO THAT I WOULDN'T HAVE "USED CAR" ISSUES. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I'M GETTING NERVOUS MY CAR WILL JUST TURN OFF AND I WILL BE IN AN ACCIDENT THE NEXT TIME AS I'VE BEEN LUCKY SO FAR.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON AS THE RIGHT PARKING LIGHT, PLATE LIGHT, AND RIGHT FOG LIGHT CONTINUES TO GO OUT EVEN AFTER BEING REPLACED WITH A NEW BULB.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. BONIFACE-HIERS CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP (1775 E MERRITT ISLAND CAUSEWAY, MERRITT ISLAND, FL 32952) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES. CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THIS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO BE INVOLVED IN A CAR CRASH. THIS OCCURRED THREE TIMES WITHIN 24 HOURS WITH MY CAR. TOOK THE CAR TO JEEP SERVICE AND THE ATTENDANT STATED THAT THIS CAR "CONSUMES 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES" AND THAT I SHOULD CALL CORPORATE. WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR TO JEEP IT WAS OUT OF OIL WITH NO WARNING OF A NEED FOR AN OIL CHANGE OR THAT I WAS LOW ON OIL. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP I WAS NOT MADE AWARE THAT I WOULD NEED TO CHANGE THE OIL THIS OFTEN AND THAT THIS CAR "CONSUMES" THIS MUCH OIL REQUIRING CONSTANT SERVICE. IT IS ALSO NOT STATED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL. THE ISSUE WITH THIS CAR COULD CAUSE A HORRIBLE COLLISION, AS WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION IT COMPLETELY TURNS OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN THIS HAPPENED TO ME I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN AND WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS TO ACCELERATE THE CAR JUST ROLLED BECAUSE THE ENGINE WAS SHUT OFF AND I HAD NO POWER STEERING. AS THIS OCCURRED ANOTHER CAR WAS COMING, LUCKILY THEY HAD A STOP SIGN.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
ON MAY 11TH MY JEEP RENEGADE WITH 19,637 MILES DIED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NEVER RESTARTED. AT THE TIME, THE REASON WAS UNKNOWN AND NO WARNING LIGHTS. IT ACTED LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS; LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF A BUY ROAD. IT WAS TOWED 5 HOURS LATER(ROADSIDE ASSIST THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE SUCKED TOO) TO AUTOLAND (WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN AUGUST 2017) THEY HAD MY CAR FOR ALMOST A WEEK BEFORE THEY EVEN CONTACTED ME ABOUT THE CAR. ON MAY 17TH THEY CALLED AND TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE AND WANTED PROOF OF VEHICLE MAINTENANCE. I BROUGHT IN PROOF OF 3 OIL CHANGES AND A TIRE ROTATION. I ASKED WHY I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE AND THEY TOLD ME IT DIDNT HAVE ANY COMPRESSION; I ASKED WHY AND JUNIOR SAID "I DON'T KNOW" ON MAY 23 I CALLED AND ASKED WHAT'S UP BECAUSE I AM RENTING A VEHICLE OUT OF POCKET AND I NEED A LOANER. JUNIOR SAID "I CAN'T JUST GIVE PEOPLE FREE CARS AND I DON'T HAVE ONE ANYWAY" I ASKED ABOUT THE STATUS OF MY CAR AND HE SAID HE HASN'T HEARD FROM THE WARRANTY PEOPLE YET. I TOLD HIM THEY HAD MY CAR FOR MORE THAN 10 BUSINESS DAYS AND THE NEXT CALL WILL BE FROM MY LAWYER. I GOT A CALL 10 MINUTES LATER SAYING MY ENGINE IS UNDER WARRANTY AND IT WILL TAKE 3 TO 5 BUSINESS DAYS TO GET MY VEHICLE BACK. WAS TOLD IT WILL BE READY ON THE 28TH. I CALLED ON THE 28TH AND THEY HAVEN'T EVEN RECEIVED THE ENGINE (ALLEGEDLY) THAT IT WILL BE ANOTHER WEEK. HERE IT IS JUNE 4TH AND I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM THEM YET. I CALLED JEEP CHRYSLER HQ AND THEY WERE SO RUDE AND USELESS. NOT CONCERNED THAT THEIR BRAND NEW VEHICLES NEEDS NEW ENGINES AT LESS THAN 20,000 MILES. I AM STILL PAYING FOR A RENTAL, NOT RECEIVING ANY COOPERATION FROM DEALERSHIP, LEMON LAW LAWYERS OR CORPORATE. SMH. I HAVE TO MAKE A PAYMENT ON A VEHICLE I HAVE NOT HAD IN NEARLY A MONTH! A BRAND NEW CAR WITH 16 ORIGINAL MILES WHEN PURCHASED. CAN ANYONE OFFER ADVISE OR ASSISTANCE? SO UPSET & FRUSTRATED!
PURCHASED 4/20/2017 THE PROBLEMS BEGAN WITH THE AC GOING OUT AT 10000MILES. THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T WANT TO FIX IT TOLD US TO DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN. AFTER ARGUING ABOUT OUR WARRANTY WE GOT A LOANER. NEXT THEY REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS 2 TIMES. AGAIN, DID NOT WANT TO PROVIDE LOANER HAD TO COMPLAIN FOR THEM TO HONOR WARRANTY AGREEMENT. THEN TRANSMISSION SKIPS AND RADIO FREQUENCY HUB WAS REPLACED TWICE WHILE IN THE SHOP FOR 4 MONTHS FROM DEC 14 2018 TILL AROUND MARCH 17 2019. STEERING MODULE REPLACED DUE TO THE STEERING WHEEL IN THE CENTER GETTING COMPLETELY HOT. COMPLAINED ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION SKIPPING STILL. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALWAYS COMES ON. AUTOMATIC START FAULTY. WILL ATTACH ALL REPAIR INVOICES. MOST RECENT! 5/6/2019, A MONDAY THE CAR WAS SCHEDULED DUE TO A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP AND THE AUTOMATIC START WOULD NOT WORK. ALONG WITH THAT WHEN THE CAR STARTED THE SCREEN WOULD FLASH WARNING SIGNS: EMERGENCY BREAK SYSTEM, AIRBAG SYSTEM WARNING. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CLAIMED TO NOT HAVE A LOANER. HOWEVER, FRIDAY 5/10/2019 I HAD NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK AND ON MY WAY TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL. THE EMERGENCY BREAKS LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH DOWN FM 1289 HEADING TO PORT O'CONNOR, TEXAS FROM PORT LAVACA, TEXAS. I WENT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND DEMANDED A LOANER. THE VEHICLE IS CLEARLY A LEMON! HOWEVER LARRY TAYLOR, A SERVICE TECHNICIAN, TOLD US "I VALUE MY LIFE I WOULD NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE". PAUL PEREZ SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER SAID "I WOULDN'T PUT MY FAMILY IN THAT VEHICLE." THEN THEY DEMANDED WE BRING THE LOANER BACK 5/17/2019 TO PICK UP OUR VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ACCORDING TO THEM HAD A SHORT CIRCUIT, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME MIND YOU, AND MADE THE EMERGENCY BREAKS ENGAGE AND THE SEAT BELTS MALFUNCTION. ALSO, THE AIRBAGS MALFUNCTIONED FLASHING WARNING AS THE BREAKS LOCKED UP. I COULD ONLY SELECT 3 OPTIONS BUT SEAT BELTS NEEDS TO BE CHECKED.
AFTER ABOUT ONE & 1/2 YRS FROM BUYING JEEP...BRAND NEW, IT STARTED SHIFTING GEARS REALLY HARD. THIS SEEMS TO OCCUR AT 29-32 MPH, IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND THE JEEP WILL JERK VERY HARD.
I HAVE HAD THE OIL CHANGED USING THE RECOMMENDED WEIGHT AT THE RECOMMENDED TIMES/MILEAGE AND HAVE RUN OUT OF OIL BEFORE THE NEXT SCHEDULED OIL MAINTENANCE FOR THE APPROPRIATE MILES/TIME CAUSING ME TO STALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOR A TOTAL OF THREE OIL CHANGES AND STARTED AROUND MY 2ND YEAR WITH THE VEHICLE AT 30000 MILES. THE STALL HAPPENS ON HILLS OR WHEN ACCELERATING QUICKLY OR GOING AROUND CORNERS QUICKLY. I LOSE PRESSURE AND SPUTTER AND STALL. IT HAS BEEN DANGEROUS A FEW TIMES ALREADY

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND WAS TAKEN TO KLABEN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (1106 W MAIN ST, KENT, OH 44240, (330) 673-3139) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,400.

MY CAR BEGIN SPUTTERING, STALLING WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS AS IF IT WAS NOT GETTING ENOUGH GAS, MY INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE PANEL OF THE CAR WOULD JUST START TO GO CRAZY CAUSING THE SEATBELT SIGN TO BEGIN TO DING AND DING AND DING, EVEN THOUGH I HAD MY SEAT BELT ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO BE LOOKED AT AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE THAT I SHOULD LOOK UP. I DID AND THERE WERE THREE RECALLS INVOLVING MY VEHICLE, TWO OF WHICH RELATED DIRECTLY TO THE PROBLEMS I WAS HAVING. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER WHO SAID MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I ASKED HOW THAT IS POSSIBLE WHEN EXACTLY WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY LISTED. SHE TOLD ME TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP HAVE THEM CHECK IT OUT AND IF THEY DETERMINED THAT THIS WAS THE PROBLEM THEN THEY WOULD NOT TO CALL AND TELL THEM THAT. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALER AND SPOKE WITH SERVICE WHO EXPLAINED WHY SHOULD THEY HAVE TO CONTACT CHRYSLER WHEN IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM. I SAID SIR, I AM ONLY FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS. HE THEN WENT ON TO EXPLAIN TO ME THAT WELL THEY COULD LOOK AT THE CAR BUT IT WOULD COST ME $230 TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC. I ASKED WHY I WOULD HAVE TO FOR THAT AND HE SAID "HE HAS TO PAY HIS PEOPLE". I MADE AN APPOINT AND TOOK THE CAR. WHEN THEY CALLED THEY WORDED EVERYTHING IN A MANNER THAT WOULD REMOVE ME FROM THE RECALL, HOWEVER THEY THEN PUT "FUEL INJECTION" AT THE BOTTOM. I INQUIRED ABOUT THIS AND WAS TOLD THAT I AM SUPPOSED TO GET MY FUEL INJECTION CLEANED 2 PER YEAR. I INFORMED THEM I NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING. HE ALSO TOLD ME IT WOULD CLOSE TO $500 TO GET MY SEATBELF FIXED "THAT IS NOT EVEN BROKEN" AND NEVER DID ANYTHING ABOUT THE INDICATOR LIGHTS. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEEDED TO PUT MY CAR "BACK TOGETHER" WHICH I ALSO DID NOT UNDERSTAND BECAUSE I THOUGHT A DIAGNOSTIC DID NOT REQUIRE THAT. NOW MY ENGINE LIGHT IS ALSO ON AND NOBODY WILL RETURN MY CALLS.
EVERY TIME I TURN MY VEHICLE ON AND THE A/C UNIT IS ON MY CAR BEGINS TO MAKE A SQUEALING SOUND. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I'M AT A STOP LIGHT OR IDLING AND I HAVE MY AIR CONDITIONER ON.
WHEN TURNING ON A SNOW COVERED ROAD, SLIGHTLY UP HILL, FROM A COUNTY HIGHWAY INTO A DRIVEWAY AND EXPERIENCING SLIGHT WHEEL SPIN, THE VEHICLE LOST 4-WHEEL DRIVE AND POWER STEERING. THE ESC SYSTEM BECAME DISABLED AND ERROR CODES "SERVICE HILL START ASSIST", "SERVICE ESC SYSTEM" AND "DYNAMIC STEERING TORQUE SERVICE REQUIRED" WERE DISPLAYED AS A MESSAGE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SCREEN AND THE ESC DISABLED LIGHT WAS TURNED ON. MALFUNCTION LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATE WHEN THERE IS NO MALFUNCTION. WHEN I GOT TO THE CURB, THE LIGHTS NEXT TO THE SHIFTER (PRND) WERE FLASHING UNTIL I PUT IT IN PARK. I SHUT THE CAR OFF, AND WHEN IT CAME BACK ON, ONLY THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED. I PHONED JEEP, AND THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP, BUT NONE WERE OPEN, SO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE MORNING, AND HAD TO LEAVE MY CAR ON THE STREET, BECAUSE IF I WENT MORE THAN 10 FEET, THE POWER WOULD GO OUT AGAIN AND WOULD LOSE ACCELERATION. IT HAPPENS OVER HALF OF THE TIME AND RESULTS IN A VERY UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION AS THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY OR MAINTAIN ADEQUATE SPEED DEPENDING ON THE GEAR IN WHICH IT IS STUCK. THE VEHICLE HAS TO DODGE TRAFFIC AND PULL OVER IN A SAFE PLACE WHERE THE VEHICLE CAN BE SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED, WHICH IN MOST CASES WILL RESET THE TRANSMISSION AND ALLOW IT TO FUNCTION CLOSER TO NORMAL. FCA IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DEALER HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO REMEDY THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR 6 MONTHS. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, THE TRANSMISSION, THE EVAP CANISTER AND THE FUEL PUMP. FCA AND THE DEALER ARE STATING THIS IS "NORMAL" FUNCTION AND THAT THE TURN OR THE HILL MUST BE EXTREME OPERATION. THIS IS HAPPENING AT A SLOW SPEED TURN OF 10-15 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO HELFMAN DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (LOCATED AT 7720 KATY FWY SUITE A, HOUSTON, TX 77024, (713) 533-6100) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V731000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 58112038. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,580.

THE TRUNK POP OPEN IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO CLOSE TO IT. AFTER STARTING THE CAR THEN DRIVING THE CAR WILL STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. YOU HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. AND GIVE IT A FEW MINS. THEN TRY TO RESTART THE CAR. THEN YOU CAN GO. IF YOU HIT THE RADIO BUTTONS TO FAST IT WILL TURN THE VOLUME ALL THE WAY UP AND WILL BE STUCK THERE TILL YOU TURN OFF THE CAR AND RESET THE RADIO.
ALL SENSOR WARNING SOUNDS HAVE SHUT OFF OR MUTED. WE HAVE NOTED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT SENSOR AS WELL AS SEAT BELT SENSOR SOUNDS AND LOW FUEL WARNING SOUND HAS SHUT OFF. WE'VE TRIED SENSORS, BREAKERS AND FUSES WITH NO LUCK. WE'VE TRIED RESETTING AND TROUBLESHOOTING BUT AM NOT HAVING ANY LUCK.

ADDITIONALLY, ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, A WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED SUGGESTED THAT THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER BE SHIFTED TO THE PARK POSITION BEFORE SHIFTING INTO A DRIVE GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COUGHLIN MARYSVILLE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (LOCATED AT 15777 WATKINS RD, MARYSVILLE, OH 43040, (937) 246-5386) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE MAY BE DUE TO THE TYPE OF FUEL AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TWO QUARTS LOW ON ENGINE OIL. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL SUCTION DOOR WAS MISALIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
2017 JEEP RENEGADE WITH 42,000 MILES HAS FAULTY IGNITION COILS, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO MISFIRE, AND STALL WHILE DRIVING. AFTER OUR JEEP RENEGADE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AND MISFIRING, I STARTED RESEARCHING POSSIBLE ISSUES. SHORTLY AFTER THIS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT INDICATED A PROBLEM, WHICH DISABLED THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE IN THE VEHICLE DURING A SNOWSTORM HERE. UPON PULLING THE CEL CODE, WE FOUND A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 2 AND REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS AS THIS IS A TYPICAL SOLUTION TO MINOR IGNITION ISSUES. UPON REPLACEMENT, I NOTICED ONE PLUG WAS BADLY FOULED AND CORRODED WITH ANOTHER HAVING SLIGHT FOULING. AFTER REPLACEMENT OF THE SPARK PLUGS, THE VEHICLE ACTED OK FOR ABOUT AN HOUR THEN STARTED MISFIRING AGAIN. WE SWAPPED THE 2 AND 4 COIL WITH EACH OTHER RESULTING IN THE MISFIRE MOVING TO CYLINDER 4. THIS LEXUS TO REPLACE THE IGNITION COILS SOLVING THE ISSUE. THIS VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON IT, AND UPON FURTHER RESEARCH WE ARE FINDING THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE RENEGADE IGNITION COILS FAILING PREMATURELY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO MISFIRE AND STALL. THIS IS A POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING ISSUE BECAUSE IF THE VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING COULD VERY LIKELY CAUSE ACCIDENTS. ADDITIONALLY THE FAILURE OF THE 4WD WITH ACEL PUTS THE DRIVER AT FURTHER RISK OF BEING STUCK OR CAUSING A WRECK WHEN THE VEHICLE DOES NOT PERFORM AS EXPECTED.
IN MOTION UPON DECEL/ACCEL AT A STOP SIGN AND THEN TO PROCEED, THE ENGINE DIES. YOU HAVE TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND RE-CRANK, THEN TRY TO PROCEED. NO LOW OIL INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON FOR ANY WARNING THAT MY ENGINE WAS LOW ON OIL OR THAT MY ENGINE WOULD DO AN AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN TO SAVE THE ENGINE. I WAS 2000 MILES OVER MY RECOMMENDED OIL CHANGE (I OWN THIS MISTAKE) AND WAS TOLD THE OIL WAS FOUND TO LOW AND THAT THIS PARTICULAR ENGINE WAS MADE TO SHUT DOWN TO SAVE IT FROM BURNING UP. HOWEVER, NO WARNINGS, NO INDICATOR LIGHTS, JUST A SHUTOFF OF THE POWER TO VEHICLE UPON SLOWING TO STOP AND/OR RE-ACCELERATE. TROUBLE TO THINK I WOULD GET IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW MY OIL WAS TOO LOW AND SHOULD BE LOOKED AT. SO, MAJOR DEAL.... I HAD THE OIL CHANGED AND THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS THE TYPE OF 2.4 LT ENGINE THAT WAS USING IN THIS PARTICULAR JEEP MODEL. I GET THAT, BUT NO INDICATOR LIGHT IS TROUBLESOME. TOOK IT ON MONDAY THE 11TH TO JEEP DEALER IN CARTERSVILLE, GA.
CONCERNED ABOUT JEEP'S INABILITY TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. HAVE SAFETY CONCERNS WHEN PULLING TRAILER . JEEP RECOMMENDED USING E85 FUEL WHICH IS NOT AVAILABLE IN MY AREA. VEHICLE UNABLE TO PERFORM AS REPRESENTED.
