OIL CONSUMPTION. NEEDED 1QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES. IT WILL STALL WHEN LOW ON OIL.
THE VEHICLE HAS SHUT OFF ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY. THE VEHICLE ENGINE STOPS AND THE CAR HAS TO BE GUIDED OFF THE STREET IF SAFE. AT LEAST ONCE THE VEHICLE STOPPED WHILE DRIVING AND HAD TO BE SHUT OFF AND THEN RESTARTED. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES, TWICE BEFORE THE RECALL. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED A "SOFTWARE" PROBLEM. IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN SINCE FINDING OUT ABOUT THE RECALL AFTER THE ORIGINAL "FIX". THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALERSHIP CURRENTLY BUT THERE IS NO RECALL PART YET FOR THIS PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 35 MPH. WHEN THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE AND OIL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT SCHEDULED A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WITH NORMANDIN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM FIAT (900 CAPITOL EXPRESSWAY AUTO MALL, SAN JOSE, CA 95136, (408) 266-9500). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,602.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE BURNED EXCESSIVE OIL AND THE OIL INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE MOST RECENT OIL CHANGE, THE FUEL PRESSURE AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. SHE CHECKED THE ENGINE AND NOTICED THERE WAS LITTLE OIL LEFT IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V131000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING), WHICH SHE ASSOCIATED WITH THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED LANDMARK DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (6850 MT ZION BLVD, MORROW, GA 30260, (770) 968-4900) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
IT FEELS LIKE MY CAR IS RUNNING OUT OF GAS WHILE IDLING AND WHEN APPLY GAS, I HAVE A HALF A TANK OF GAS.
JERKING, POPPING NOISE AND FEELING EXPERIENCED MANY TIMES OVER THE PAST COUPLE MONTHS TIME. IT'S AS IF IT'S SLIPPING OR POPPING GEARS. THIS IS ALL WHILE IN MOTION BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY.
STEERING LOCK UP. ON TWO OCCASIONS WE'VE HAD THE STEERING LOCK UP ON OUR 2017 JEEP RENEGADE TRAIL HAWK. FORTUNATELY, ONE HAPPENED AT A STOP SIGN AND THE OTHER OCCURRED WHEN WE DROPPED THE VEHICLE OFF AT THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. WHEN THE STEERING LOCKED UP, OUR JEEP WAS ALSO EXPERIENCING ILLUMINATION OF MULTIPLE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHTS. THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL (T50 / NHTSA 17V-485) THAT SPECIFICALLY ADDRESSES THE MALFUNCTIONING INDICATOR LIGHTS IN THE 2017 RENEGADE. HOWEVER, IT ONLY APPLIES TO RENEGADES BUILT FROM 9 JUN 2017 THROUGH 18 JUL 2017. UNFORTUNATELY, OUR VEHICLE WAS BUILT OUTSIDE OF THIS WINDOW AND THE SERVICE MANAGER WILL NOT REPROGRAM THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER UNLESS IT IS IN THE VIP AS AN OPEN RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC RENEGADE. I HAVE CALLED JEEP CUSTOMER CARE TWICE ON THIS ISSUE AND WE STILL HAVE NO RESOLUTION.
AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF USE THE BRAKE ROTORS HAD DEEP SCORING AND WERE REPLACED BY THE DEALER. AT LESS THAN A YEAR THE BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS SCORN AGAIN AND NOW THE VEHICLE PULLS TO ONE SIDE WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED HARD.
WE BOUGHT A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE IN SEPTEMBER 2017. OUR RENEGADE HAS A VERY HARD SHIFT PROBLEM AND MAKES A LOUD CLUNK SOUND AROUND THE 25-30MPH RANGE...IT HITS SO HARD THAT IT FEELS LIKE SOMEONE HIT YOU IN THE BACK OF THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. WE HAD OUR CAR SERVICED 3 TIMES AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS PROBLEM AND IT STILL CONTINUES. WHEN WE WENT BACK FOR THE 3RD TIME ON MAY 24TH, THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD US THAT IT WASN'T THROWING ANY CODES SO THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO TO FIX IT. HE ALSO INFORMED US THAT THIS WAS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE RENEGADES AND ALL THEY COULD DO WAS TO FLASH A SOFTWARE UPDATE EVEN THOUGH HE KNOWS IT WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. ANOTHER TECH SAID "IS YOUR CAR STILL UNDER WARRANTY?" WE SAID YES, IT ONLY HAS 32,000 MILES ON IT. HE SAID TO THE OTHER TECH, WE SHOULD JUST PUT A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION IN THE THING. THE OTHER TECH SAID, IF WE DO THAT, IT WILL JUST BE PUTTING THE SAME KIND OF TRANSMISSION BACK IN IT (9 SPEED TRANSMISSION) WHICH WOULD EVENTUALLY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WE WERE TOLD THAT MOST PEOPLE JUST WANT TO TRY TO TRADE THE CAR IN FOR SOMETHING ELSE. THE SERVICE TECH ADVISED US TO TALK WITH A SALES PERSON. SO WHILE TALKING WITH THE SALES PERSON, SHE TRIED TO GET US INTO A CERTIFIED USED CAR. WE BOUGHT A NEW CAR FOR A REASON, TO NOT END UP WITH SOME ELSE'S PROBLEMS WITH A USED CAR. THEN WE ASK TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER. HE TOLD US THAT ANY CAR HE PUT US IN WOULD JUST HAVE THE SAME TRANSMISSION AND POSSIBLY THE SAME PROBLEMS. THE MANAGER ACTUALLY TOLD US THAT WE WOULD JUST BE BETTER OFF TRADING IT IN AT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. WE WENT TO THE SUBARU DEALERSHIP TO SPEAK WITH THEM ABOUT TRADING IT IN AND THEY ONLY WANTED TO OFFER US A TRADE IN VALUE OF $10,000 WHEN WE STILL OWE $15,000. IT JUST DOESN'T SEEM FAIR THAT NO ONE AT THE JEEP DEALERSHIP IS WILLING TO HELP ITS CUSTOMERS WHEN THEY CLEARLY KNOW THEY HAVE SOLD MANY CUSTOMERS FAULTY VEHICLES.
SEATBELT RECEIVER IS DEFECTIVE. PROBLEM HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AT DEALERSHIP. REPLACEMENT PART HAS BEEN ORDERED MULTIPLE TIMES. DEALERSHIP WAS SENT WRONG PART IN THE CORRECT BOX; REPLACEMENT PART ORDERED. DEALERSHIP WAS SENT DEFECTIVE PART; REPLACEMENT PART ORDERED. PROBLEM STILL HAS NOT BEEN REMEDIED. THE SEATBELT CANNOT BE PUT INTO THE BUCKLE AS SOMETHING IN THE RECEIVER IS BLOCKING ACCESS.
ABOUT A WEEK AGO MY JEEP RENEGADE STARTED STALLING IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON THE ROAD, IT ALSO STRUGGLES A LITTLE TO START BACK UP AFTER SAID STALLING. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE SINCE I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD CHILD AND SHE WAS PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE ON TWO OCCASIONS WHEN THE STALLING HAPPEN. IT IS ABSOLUTELY A HAZARD TO BE ON THE ROAD WITH THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM..LIFE THREATENING!
CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATES OR DECELERATES IN ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS. CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING SITUATIONS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V731000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER FAILED TO PROVIDE THE PART TO RECEIVE AN APPOINTMENT FROM AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LOSS OF FUEL PRESSURE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE, AND THE VEHICLE JERKED ABNORMALLY WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT EXCEED 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT CONSUMER STATED ACCELERATING CAR STARTED LUNGING FORWARD AND LOSES POWER. VEHICLE HAS PROBLEMS SHIFTING AND CATCHING SPEED. *JB
When you get up to 29-30 mph the vehicle will jerk. Sometimes so hard it feels like you have been hit in the back in. I took it in 3 times to be checked out. This is the explanation they gave me for why my car does this. That newer vehicles get used to one person driving it and when someone else does then goes back to the original person it knows this. So it is trying to relearn the driving pattern. I know cars are a lot smarter now. Not that smart though. I know something is making it do this. No one can give me a real explanation.
TAKATA RECALL - TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE 12/10/18, TOOK A TRIP TO YOSEMITE ON 12/25/18 BEFORE LEAVING HOME MY HUSBAND CHECKED MY OIL AND I WAS HALF WAY DOWN MY OIL STICK. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE WHEN I JUST TOOK MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE? I WAS MAYBE A LITTLE MORE THEN 1000 MILES. NO OIL LIGHT CAME ON. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME, THE FIRST TIME I WAS WAY LESS THAN MY OIL CHANGE MILEAGE WE WAS HEADING TO LA AND HALF WAY THERE MY CAR STARTED STALLING WE PULLED OVER AND CHECKED THE OIL WHEN THE CAR COOLED OFF AND MY HUSBAND NOTICE I HAD NO OIL IT WAS AT THE BOTTOM LINE ON MY OIL STICK. WE HAD TO RUSH TO GET OIL FOR MY CAR. NO OIL LIGHT CAME ON, THANK GOD WE MADE IT SAFELY TO NAPA TO PURCHASE OIL.
MY CAR JUST ABOUT STALLED BUT IT KEPT GOING. BUT THEN IT GOT STUCK IN THIRD GEAR. I DRIVE ALL THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THEY NEVER HEARD BOUT THIS PROBLEM. WELL I JUST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN 2018 FEBRUARY.

SHORTLY AFTER, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND "SHIFT TO DESIRED GEAR" APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE TOWED TO ONTARIO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (1202 AUTO CENTER DR, ONTARIO, CA 91761, (909) 906-7097) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. WHEN THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME DEALER IN THE PAST, HE WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,355.
I PURCHASED MY CAR BACK IN MAY OF 2018 AND HAVE NOTICED INCONSISTENCIES WITH MY FUEL CONSUMPTION AS WELL AS A STRANGE KICKING FEELING WHEN DRIVING AT TIMES. I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL IN DECEMBER SHORTLY AFTER GOING IN FOR SOME MAINTENANCE WHICH DETAILED THE UNDERLYING ISSUE. IT SAID THAT THE CURRENT FUEL PUMP MODULE ON THIS CAR IS PRONE TO CAVITATION AND THAT THE SPONTANEOUS LOSS OF FUEL MAY RESULT IN A "SUDDEN LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER, WHICH MAY CAUSE A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING." I CALLED THE NUMBER PROVIDED ON THE NOTICE AND WAS AGAIN INFORMED THAT THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE CURRENTLY TO REMEDY THIS ISSUE. THE CALL CENTER REP ALSO INDICATED THAT THE ISSUE WAS MADE PUBLIC IN OCTOBER. WHEN I ASKED IF THERE WAS ANY TIMEFRAME FOR HOW LONG IT MIGHT TAKE FOR THE NEEDED PART TO MATERIALIZE, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS "NONE AT THIS TIME." I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD PRODUCE CARS WITH SUCH A GLARING PROBLEM THEN NOT OFFER ANY SPECIFIC REMEDIES OR SOLUTIONS FOR THE PEOPLE DRIVING THEM. THEY RECOGNIZE THE PART HAS TO BE REPLACED BUT THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT A PRIORITY FOR THEM AS THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED A SOLUTION FOR MONTHS NOW. THE ONLY SOLUTION I HAVE BEEN OFFERED WAS TO BE REIMBURSED FOR SELECT DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE THAT MAY OCCUR AFTER THE FACT. I BELIEVE THAT IS BLATANT IRRESPONSIBILITY ON THE PART OF THE MANUFACTURER AND WOULD LIKE THIS PART MADE AVAILABLE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS I AM NOW IN A POSITION THAT I CAN NO LONGER RELIABLY TRAVEL IN THE VEHICLE I'M CONTINUING TO PAY FOR. I HOPE YOU WILL SEE MY COMPLAINT AND RESPOND AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE. I REALIZE I'M JUST AN AVERAGE CONSUMER BUT I FEEL LIKE MANUFACTURERS HAVE TO BE HELD LIABLE FOR INCIDENTS ALONG THESE LINES. I CAN'T HELP BUT FEEL LIKE I'M DRIVING A TICKING TIME BOMB WITH NO EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY.
I HAVE A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. THERE IS A MASSIVE RECALL ON THEM DUE TO THE CAR SHUTTING OFF DUE TO FUEL PUMP AND OIL SENSOR ISSUES. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON ME IN INTERSECTIONS AND ON THE HIGHWAY AND IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I CONTACTED CHRYSTLER AND THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE NOT FIXING THIS RECALL UNTIL AFTER THE 1ST QUARTER IS OVER DUE TO PART AND FUNDING ISSUES. THEY REFUSE TO HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE. I CANNOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE DUE TO UNSAFE CONDITIONS.
FUEL PUMP RECALL: MAY CAUSE CAR TO STALL AND RESULT IN A CRASH. EVERY TIME I TURN MY CAR ON, IT IS OVERLY LOUD AND WHEN I'M DRIVING YOU CAN HEAR GUZZLINGN NOISES. NO INSPECTION WAS OFFERED ON MY CAR. MY CAR WAS BOUGHT AT A JEEP DEALERSHIP 2 DAYS PRIOR TO THIS RECALL WHICH WAS OVER 2 MONTHS AGO. REACHED OUT TO THE FCA AND THEY GOT ME IN CONTACT WITH DEALERSHIPS WHO DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS READILY AVAILABLE AND COULD NOT GIVE ME AN ETA. I INSISTED THAT I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND I DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING AROUND A VEHICLE THAT COULD AT ANY TIME CAUSE A CRASH BECAUSE OF A DEFECTED PART. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A ONE IN A MILLION CHANCE THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN, WHICH OBVIOUSLY IS NOT THE CASE IF A RECALL WAS ISSUED. I WAS TOLD I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY AND HAD TO CALL BACK TWO DAYS LATER BECAUSE I HAD NOT HEARD BACK. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO GO IN, AND WHEN I WENT IN THE SALES MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THE FCA HADN'T RELEASED THE PART FOR A RECALL THAT'S OVER TWO MONTHS OLD AND THEIR HANDS WERE TIED UNTIL THE PART COMES IN. I WAS TOLD THAT IF I TRADED IN THE CAR I WAS LOOKING AT A HUGE NEGATIVE EQUITY I WOULD BE PAYING FOR A CAR I HAD, AGAIN, BOUGHT TWO MONTHS PRIOR. I WAS NOT ADVISED ON THE BUY BACK OPTION, BUT JUST TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE MY CHANCES UNTIL THE PART CAME IN.
MY VEHICLE STARTED TO SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING ON 3 OCCASIONS. I CHECKED MY OIL AND I SAW THAT IT WAS RUNNING LOW SO I PUT 2 QUARTS OF OIL IN ON THURSDAY 12/13/18. I CHECKED AND THE OIL STICK AND THE LEVEL WAS AT THE MEDIUM LEVEL ON THE STICK. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER 12/17/18 TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD NO OIL IN MY CAR WHICH WAS IMPOSSIBLE SINCE I HAD JUST PUT OIL IN THE CAR. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT I DRIVE 500 MILES AND THEN COME BACK FOR AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST.
I WAS HEARING A NOISE WHEN I BRAKE SO I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE FRONT BRAKES LOOKED AT. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I WAS SHOCKED BECAUSE THE CAR IS 11 MONTHS OLD WITH 19,152 MILES THERE IS NO WAY THAT I SHOULD NEED TO HAVE MY ROTORS AND BRAKES REPLACED. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THIS MODEL IS KNOWN TO HAVE BRAKE PAD ISSUES WHICH CAUSES THE ROTORS TO HAVE GROOVES. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO REPLACE BRAKES THIS SOON.
I purchased this vehicle used with 6000-ish miles on it, the front passenger brake system had started making a slight noise, somewhat scraping or dragging. When I brought in the car for a tire change or balance, the issue was brought up to me at BIG O Tires in Aurora CO, that an issue of the brake system has a scraping or wear that usually found in a much older vehicle or one with much more mileage. I cannot at this time give the exact explanation of the issue, but I recently had an issue with the front passenger tire with a slow leak, since the tire was replaced the issue with the scraping noise has returned. 2nd Issue: The headlamps have always had a weak beam, not giving a good illumination of the road area ahead of the vehicle even when the weather is clear. It barely reveals the road ahead of me. When it is raining or snowfall, it is extremely poor. I have considered bringing it in for a change in the headlamps to a higher amp or extreme high reflecting blue lamp color that I am encountering in high illumination from oncoming vehicles. But had feared: cost, and that it would not change anything or make other electrical parts of strain to function.
ALL MAINTENANCE DONE TO VEHICLE AT RECOMMENDED/REQUIRED TIMEFRAMES. AFTER MY 2ND OIL CHANGE WHILE DRIVING THE CAR STALLED WITH NO INDICATORS ON DASH ON A MAIN ROAD WITH A SPEED LIMIT OF 45MPH, CAR DID NOT RE-START UNTIL 2ND OR 3RD ATTEMPT. THIS WAS THE 1ST TIME THIS HAD HAPPENED. ABOUT 1 WEEK LATER WHILE DRIVING DOWNHILL TURNING ONTO A FLAT ROAD THE CAR STALLED AGAIN STARTING BACK UP ON THE FIRST TRY. WHILE DRIVING THE SAME DAY THE CAR STALLED 2 MORE TIMES. AT NO POINT WERE ANY INDICATORS LIT SHOWING ANY PROBLEM. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM, AFTER EXPLAINING THE TIME IT STALLED GOING DOWN HILL HE CHECKED THE OIL AND FOUND IT EMPTY. THE MANUAL STATES CHANGING THE OIL WHEN THE WARNING LIGHT IS LIT, ONCE A YEAR OR 10,000 MILES. I HAVE HAD THE OIL CHANGED BY PROFESSIONALS IN OUR BEFORE 5,000 MILES. AT THE TIME I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND DISCOVERED IT HAD NO OIL I WAS STILL UNDER THE 5,000 MILE RANGE TO HAVE THE OIL REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED ME THAT THE OIL HAD PROBABLY BURNED UP AND CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER. MONTHS LATER WHEN PULLING OUT ONTO A MAIN ROAD THE VEHICLE AGAIN STALKED WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH, THANKFULLY THE CAR STARTED ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT AS A TRACTOR TRAILER WAS COMING UP BEHIND ME. AFTER EXPLAINING MY ISSUE THE TECHNICIAN CHECKED MY OIL FINDING IT EMPTY, ABOUT 4,000 MILES SINCE LAST OIL CHANGE, AND STATED HE WOULD TOP IT OFF FOR FREE TO SPEED UP THE PROCESS. HE STATED THIS WAS A RECENTLY DISCOVERED ISSUE BUT NOTHING YET WAS BEING DONE TO FIX THE ISSUE. I SEE A RECALL HAS BEEN PUT OUT AND CHECKED MY VIN WHICH CAME BACK AS NOT RECALLED BUT I BELIEVE MY CAR MAY HAVE THE RECALL OR SOMETHING ELSE POSSIBLY WRONG.

BODY CONTROL MODULE WAS REPLACED AT 5000 MILES. TWO WEEKS AFTER THE BCM REPLACEMENT, THE RADIO SYSTEM FROZE TWICE IN ONE WEEK. TWO WEEKS LATER, OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON THEN WENT OFF IMMEDIATELY AFTER. AT 6100 MILES, CAR STALLED AT AROUND 35MPH, WARNING LIGHTS STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MUST BE STOPPED IN ORDER TO SWITCH GEARS. THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE AND IS AN AUTOMATIC. AFTER THIS WARNING, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE ETC LIGHT. TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, THEN RESTARTED SEVERAL TIMES, WITH THE SAME RESULT. ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER, THEN AFTER ABOUT 15 SECONDS, WOULD TURN ON WITH THE SAME WARNING LIGHTS. WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND DRIVE ABOUT 100 FT, ENGINE SPUTTERING AND LOW POWER, COULD NOT GET ENOUGH SPEED BEFORE STALLING AGAIN. AFTER RESTARTING AGAIN, WARNING LIGHTS DID NOT COME ON AND VEHICLE DROVE ALMOST NORMALLY FOR SEVERAL MILES AT LOW RPM, SOME HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING.

WE TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC AND THE CODE INDICATED THAT THE RADIATOR FAN HAD FAILED, MAKING THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I FIND IT HIGHLY INDICATIVE OF A FAULTY AND DANGEROUS PART FOR A RADIATOR FAN TO FAIL SO QUICKLY. THE LARGE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE CONFIRMED THIS, THE PART WAS DEFECTIVE AND IS REPLACED BY JEEP WITH A BETTER ONE, BUT AT THE COST OF THE OWNER. I FIND THIS HIGHLY NEGLIGENT, JEEP SHOULD BE REPLACING THIS PART FOR FREE AD PART OF A RECALL, AS THEY CLEARLY KNOW IT WAS AN INFERIOR PART.

ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC AND WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR, THE BCM WENT BAD AND THEY ARE REPLACING (UNDER WARRANTY). THE VEHICLE IS A 2017 AND HAS APPROXIMATELY 17,000 MILES ON IT. PADS, AGAIN, HAD GOOD OPERATING THICKNESS AND REINSTALLED.I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN OIL CHANGE THIS WEEK AND I AM BEGINNING TO HEAR THE GRINDING NOISE AGAIN! AGAIN, THE CAR RESTART WITHOUT DELAY AND NO WARNING LIGHTS. I PULLED THE CAR TO THE SHOULDER OF ROAD AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. I EXPLAINED DETAILS AND SAID THE ONLY OTHER EXPERIENCE I HAD WAS IT WAS TIME TO CHANGE THE OIL. THE DEALERSHIP SAID CHANGE YOUR OIL AND THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. ??REALLY?? I PULLED TO THE SHOULDER AND CALLED THE PURCHASING DEALERSHIP TO EXPLAIN AND ASKED IF I CAN DRIVE TO THEM. I EXPLAINED THE ONLY ISSUE WAS THIS AND IT WAS TIME TO CHANGE OI. THE TECHNICIAN SAID THAT CHANGING THE OIL WILL RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. IT DID. IT IS NOW MATCH 2019 AND THE VEHICLE HAS NOT SHUT OFF SINCE OCTOBER. ALSO, IN JULY 2018, THE OIL PRESSURE AND SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE TRAVELING UPHILL. FURTHERMORE, ON MARCH 24, 2018, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTAL POWER CONTROL AND TOTAL CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FIRST COUPLES TIMES DEALERSHIP TRIED TO SAY IT WAS THE VISCOSITY OF THE OIL CAUSED IT TO BE LOWER THAN THE CAR READ IT TO BE. AN OIL CHANGE WAS DONE. NOTHING ELSE. THIS TIME THE DEALERSHIP IS GOING TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP.
