HOOD OPENS WITHOUT ME OPENING IT. IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES SO FAR. ONE TIME IT HAPPENED ON THE PARKWAY BUT IT HAS THE SAFETY SO IT DOESN'T SWING UP. THE SHIFTING SHIFTED SO HARD IT MADE A CLUCKEN NOISE I THOUGHT THE TRANSMISSION WENT. THAT HAPPENED TWICE. THE CAR ONLY HAS 20,000 MILES AND THE TRANS SOUNDS LIKE IT'S STARTING TO GO. I WAS DRIVING BOTH TIMES.
DRIVING AND ENGINE STALLS, THROWS A P00735 CODE, ONLY 15450 MILES ON THE CAR WHEN HAPPENED, IT'S NOT DOING IT AGAIN AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN...I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN TO THEM AND TOLD THE SAME THING.
VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, THE WIRING HARNESS WIRES MELTED INTO THE FUSE BOX.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE JERKS AND LUNGES FORWARD WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. AS I AM DRIVING I WILL HEAR A LOUD CLUNK NOISE, WHICH THEN RESULTS IN MY ENGINE STALLING OUT. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I'VE NOTICED IT HAPPENS WHEN I MUST ACCELERATE QUICKLY OR WHEN I RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL. ON THE PANEL SOON AFTER THE CLUNK A MESSAGE APPEARS STATING THAT THE CAR MUST BE SHIFTED TO PARK IN ORDER TO DRIVE. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR AS I PURCHASED IT TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF MY SON. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE EACH TIME I ATTEMPT TO DRIVE IT. DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S NORMAL FOR 2.4L TRANSMISSIONS TO DO THIS, MAIN CAUSE IS LOW OIL. I HAVE FOUND THAT IT STILL HAPPENS AFTER A FRESH OIL CHANGE. THE CAR ONLY HAS 15,000 MILES ON IT. NO HARSH DRIVING HAS BEEN DONE. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE FIXED. THIS ISSUE PUTS EVERY DRIVER ON THE ROAD AT THE SAME TIME AT RISK. THESE ENGINES ARE LEMONS.
MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS FRONT END CRASH AND NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
VEHICLE CUTS OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING, HAS BEEN TAKEN LAKE KEOWEE DODGE FOR SOFTWARE UPDATE, BUT CONTINUES TO HAVE SAME ISSUE. THIS ISSUE HAPPENED ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO AND CUT OFF 5 TIMES IN ONE DAY ON 8\10\18. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND THERE ARE NO RECALLS AS OF YET.
BOUGHT NEW 2017 JEEP RENEGADE, HAVE VEHICLE TO TWO DEALERS SO FAR GOING TO THIRD NEXT WEEK. HAVE HAD TO REPLACE TIRES THREE TIMES SO FAR IN 30,000 MILES. STEERING POPS AND PULLS WHEN TURNING, DO NOT FILL SAFE DRIVING IT. DEALERS KEEP SAYING IT IS FIXED BUT IS NOT, THINK THEY ARE STUMBLING UNTIL WARRANTY IS GONE, BEEN GOING ON SENCE AROUND 12,000 MILES. IN MOTION AND TURNING. CUNKING OFF THE TIRE ON FRONT DRIVER SIDE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED SPORADICALLY SINCE MAY OF 2018. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

TAKATA RECALL MY 2017 JEEP RENEGADE SEEMS TO DO THIS JERK / STALLING THING WHILE DRIVING. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE FUEL LEVEL STARTS TO GET LOW. WHILE RUNNING MY CAR HAS THIS LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I REMEMBER SEEING SMOKE COME FROM THE ENGINE AND I ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR A YEAR IF THAT.
THIS 2.4L MULTI-AIR ENGINE CONSUMES EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL. THERE IS NO "LOW PRESSURE" INDICATION UNLESS THE MOTOR IS A COUPLE QUARTS LOW AND HARD CORNERING OR STOPPING, AND IN THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES THE ENGINE STALLS OUT. THIS FIRST OCCURRED A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE, THE DEALERSHIP GAVE ME A TSB PRINTOUT RECOMMENDING I KEEP A QUART OF OIL ON HAND. SINCE THEN EVERY OIL CHANGE I HAVE BEEN LOW AND I'VE ADDED ABOUT ONE QUART PER THOUSAND MILES LIKE THE TSB INDICATES BUT IT IS STARTING TO CONSUME IT WORSE. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE I WAS TOLD THAT OIL CHANGES WERE SUBSTANTIALLY FURTHER APART AND THE VEHICLE WOULD LET ME KNOW WHEN TO DO SO, YET THERE IS NO INDICATION THAT I AM LOW OR OUT. ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T ENGAGE AND THE JEEP STARTED SHAKING. CAME TO A STOP, SHIFTED TO MANUAL AND IT NEEDED HIGH RPM'S TO GET IT MOVING. IT FINALLY GOT MOVING AND HAD TO USE MANUAL GET IT OFF THE HIGHWAY. WAS AT THE DEALER A FEW MONTHS EARLIER DEALING WITH THE TRANSMISSION NOT ENGAGING. DEALER SAID IT WAS A SOFTWARE ISSUE. DEALER NOW SAYS IT'S NOT TRANSMISSION BUT ENGINE PROBLEMS. THANKFUL TO BE ALIVE.
I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE WHILE DRIVING THE CAR WILL JERK REALLY HARD. THIS HAPPENS WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, WHEN I SLOW DOWN AND PICK UP THE SPEED OR JUST DRIVING NORMAL. THE DEALER SAID IT HAD TO IMITATE THE PROBLEM SO HE CAN KNOW WHAT TO FIX. SO IT DID IMITATE THE JERK SO HE WANTED TO DRIVE IT HISSELF CAUSE HE SAID THE WAY I WAS DRIVING CAUSED THE CAR TO JERK. I TOLD HIM I HAD THIS CAR 2 YEARS AND IT HAS NEVER DONE THAT. TAKATA RECALL..MY 2017 JEEP RENEGADE WAS PURCHASED NEW IN MAY 2018 HAD 18 MILES ON THE ODOMETER...ON JULY 20, 2017, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I HAD JUST COME THRU A WORK ZONE; TRAFFIC HAD BEEN STOP AND GO FOR ABOUT 10 MILES. AS I REACHED THE END OF THE WORK ZONE; THE JEEP STARTED JERKING AS IF THE GEARSHIFT WAS STUCK OR SHIFTING UNCONTROLLABLY, LOST POWER AND STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY! I HAD NO SHOULDER OR EXIT T STEER TOWARDS. THIS WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I IMMEDIATELY EXITED THE VEHICLE CALLED OHP AND ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. AFTER 15 20 MINUTES, I WENT BACK TO TRY START THE JEEP AND IT STARTED! THIS WAS THE 2ND OCCURRENCE. THE FIRST TIME IT DID NOT SHUT OFF. I HAVE KNOW IDEA WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND SCHEDULED IT FOR SERVICE.
TAKATA RECALL. WAS DRIVING AT 75 MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL WHEN MY JEEP SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS. IT THEN PROCEEDED TO HAVE SURGES. NO LIGHTS CAME ON. IT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF BUT WAS STILL ON. A ERROR CAME ON STATING TO SERVICE TRANSMISSION. TOOK TO A DEALERSHIP THAT SAID IT WAS NEEDING AN UPDATE WITH THE COMPUTER. WENT 340 MORE MILES THE NEXT DAY AND IT DONE THE EXACT SAME THING. LOST ALL POWER STEERING. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. GOT TOWED AND THEY TOLD ME NO CODES CAME UP WHILE PLUGGED INTO THE COMPUTER. WAS THEN TOLD IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND WOULD BE A TWO WEEK WAIT. WAS TOLD IT'S BEEN A VERY COMMON THING WITH THE 2017 RENEGADES SO THEY'RE BACK ORDERED. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE DEALERSHIP THE DAY BEFORE BYPASSED SOMETHING TO SEND ME ON MY WAY. CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY AREN'T HELPING AT ALL. AND I'M STILL 480 MILES FROM MY HOME. THERE SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A RECALL ON THEM. IT WILL END UP GETTING SOMEONE KILLED.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE DOWN A CITY STREET, WITH PARKED CARS ON EITHER SIDE (AT APPROXIMATELY 18 MILES PER HOUR) AND IN A NEARLY STRAIGHT LINE, ALL OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED CAUSING SEVERE INJURY TO THE DRIVER WHICH REQUIRED MULTIPLE SURGERIES. BLACK BOX DATA SHOWS A ROLL OVER INCIDENT FROM ONE OF THE SENSORS. THE VEHICLE DID NOT ROLL OVER, NOR DID IT HIT A CURB, THE VEHICLE IS IN PRISTINE CONDITION EXCEPT FOR THE DEPLOYED AIRBAGS WHICH DEPLOYED SPONTANEOUSLY. IT IS BELIEVED THAT THIS OCCURRED DUE TO EITHER PROGRAMMING ERROR (AS HAS HAPPENED IN THE RECALLED JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES) OR A DEFECTIVE SENSOR FROM THE FACTORY. VEHICLE'S OIL CONSUMPTION IS HIGHER THAN OWNER MANUAL INDICATES. ENGINE IS CONSUMING APPROX. A LITER EVERY 750-1,000 MILES. HAVE BROUGHT VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE DUE TO LOW OIL LIGHT COMING ON AND WAS TOLD THAT THE 2.4 ENGINE TENDS TO BURN OIL AND THIS WAS NORMAL. THEY ADVISED THAT I JUST CHECK THE OIL LEVELS AND ADD OIL WHEN LOW. THIS FIRST STARTED SHORTLY AFTER BUYING THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUE AS OF TODAY 04/05/19.* *DT CONSUMER STATED DEALER INDICATED THAT THIS TYPE OF ENGINE BURNS OIL AND THAT CONSUMER COULD COME MONTHLY TO HAVE THE OIL CHECKED. THERE IS NO VISIBLE LEAK. CONSUMER HAD THE OIL CHANGED FOUR TIMES AT ROUGHLY 22,000 MILES.*JB
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR MANY TIMES THE CAR STALLS OUT. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP A NUMBER TIMES AND THEY STILL YET CAN NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT RECALL NUMBER 18V-731. THE LETTER WE RECEIVED SAID A SOLUTION WOULD BE AVAILABLE BY THE END OF Q4 2018. I CALLED OUR DEALERSHIP TODAY AND CONFIRMED THERE IS NO SOLUTION YET. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ISSUE. CAVITATION FROM A BAD FUEL PUMP REALLY DOESN'T DESCRIBE WHAT IT'S LIKE TO HAVE YOUR ENGINE STALL OUT ON YOU AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WHILE GOING UPHILL. TWICE. A THIRD TIME IT OCCURRED ON A SIMPLE CITY STREET. WE WERE ALMOST INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. NO WARNING, NO CHECK-ENGINE LIGHT, NO SPUTTERING OR LESS-RESPONSIVE ENGINE - NOTHING. JUST STALLED OUT. THE ISSUE IS LIKELY TO OCCUR IN HOT SUMMER TIME AND DRIVING UP HILLS. WE LIVE IN HILLY TUCSON, ARIZONA WHERE IT WILL HIT 90DEG TOMORROW. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I BELIEVE THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMING ITS JUST A FAULTY FUEL PUMP IS BOGUS. IF IT WAS THAT SIMPLE, WHY IS THERE NO NEW FUEL PUMP AVAILABLE? WHY ARE THE FUEL PUMPS ON NEW INVENTORY OKAY, BUT THEY CAN'T PRODUCE ONE GOOD ENOUGH TO SATISFY THIS RECALL? AFTER EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES, I THINK THE PROBLEM LIES IN THE SOFTWARE, OR HOW THE SENSOR READS THE FUEL PRESSURE OR ENGINE TEMPS. THE CAR DIDN'T HEAVE OR SPUTTER BEFORE THE ISSUE AROSE - THE ENGINE JUST CUT OUT. I'VE DRIVEN OLD CARS WITH POOR FUEL PUMPS BEFORE AND THEY LET YOU KNOW BEFORE THEY DIE. AND THEY DON'T COME MAGICALLY BACK TO LIFE ONCE YOU PULL OFF THE ROAD AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND IMMEDIATELY BACK ON AGAIN. SOFTWARE DOES THAT - NOT MECHANICAL FAILURES. I REFUSE TO PUT MY FAMILY AT RISK AGAIN THIS SUMMER, AND SUMMER COMES FAST IN SOUTHERN ARIZONA. PLEASE HELP ME LOOK OUT FOR MY LITTLE FAMILY. TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER TWICE, FIRST THEY TOLD ME IT WAS MY NEW TIRES. THIS TIME THEY TOLD ME IT A REAR DRIVE AXLE MODULE CHRYSLER KNOW ABOUT IT AND TRYING TO FIND A FIX.I HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS NOISE PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR, WITH THEM LOOKING AT ME LIKE I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.THE NOISE GETS LOUDER AND LOUDER THE FASTER I GO. The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, at an altitude of 10,000 ft., the vehicle experienced a loss of automotive power before the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that there were construction barriers on the road, and the contact was not able to get to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the failure had occurred approximately seven times. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that a diagnostic test was needed. The contact declined and stated that the failure occurred while the temperature outside was high and hot, and the vehicle was driven on a steep hill. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V731000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to have the dealer check the Flex Fuel/E85 system. The manufacturer advised the contact to have the dealer open a star case. The failure mileage was unknown.

VARIOUS MESSAGES HAVE BEEN DISPLAYED THE MOST PREVIOUS TIMES SAYING "TO SHIFT VEHICLE MUST BE STOPPED" I WASN'T TRYING TO SHIFT? NO CODES EVER BEING SHOWN ARE THE SAME. ALL ISSUES CAUSE THE CAR TO COMPLETELY STOP. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ON THE ROADS OFCOURSE. IT'S ALREADY HAD AN UPDATE TO THE SYSTEM THE DEALERSHIP SAID WAS NEEDED. NOW BACK TO DOING THE SAME THING SO IT'S CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. JUST HIT 20K MILES. TRYING TO PUT GAS IN THE VEHICLE AND THE GAS PUMP KEEPS STOPPING WHEN ITS NOT FULL
MY JEEP HAS ALREADY WENT TO THE SHOP FOR A WEEK BECAUSE IT STALLED 8 TIMES ON THE INTERSTATE IN TRAFFIC WHILE MY FAMILY WAS COMING HOME FROM VACATION. OUR SAFTY IS EXTREMELY JEOPARDIZED BY THIS. THE CONTACT SUFFERED FROM SORENESS THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE DEALER (MCLARTY DANIEL CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM, 479-250-3900) WAS CALLED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE DIPSTICK SHOWED NO OIL. I ADDED 2 QUARTS AND TOOK IT TO THE SHOP. THE GUY DID AN OIL CHANGE AND SUGGESTED THAT THE LAST GUY DID NOT ADD ENOUGH OIL SINCE IT TAKES MORE THAN A NORMAL V4. I THANKED HIM AND WENT ON MY WAY. IMMEDIATELY MY CAR WAS DRIVING BETTER. HERE IT IS 3 MONTHS LATER AND MY CAR BEGINS TO DRIVE ROUGH. THE ONLY GOOD PART OF THIS WAS THAT IT WAS IN NEUTRAL - I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED OF THE TRANSMISSION HAD GOTTEN STUCK IN REVERSE OR DRIVE.

THEY DID NOTIFY ME THAT THE ROTORS WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED BEFORE THE VEHICLE COULD PASS INSPECTION. DURING THE CONVERSATION THE DEALER SAID THESE VEHICLES WERE KNOWN FOR HAVING TOO HARD OF A BRAKE PAD AND THE PAD GROOVES THE ROTORS.
